Phovos
Good day, long time no see! Just thought I'd drop by with a few contest ideas. Can't hurt, right? Plus, since it's Chima month, let's throw in some Chima ideas. Bionicle-Based/System-Based Contests: Kaita Combiners - Build a new combiner or Kaita using only three models It's so tiny! - Build something using a maximum of 100 pieces Chima Builders - Give a minor Chima character their own buildable character set (like the Lavartus/Cragger/etc big HF-like sets) Woah man, cut down on the chi, man! - Make a massive version of a Chima character Build something from the LEGO Movie. RAINBOWS - Build something that contains as many colours as possible yet still looks nice. International World of LEGO - Build something that represents the country you live in. Other contests New kid at school - Design a new Chima character New Guys on the Block - Design a new Chima tribe That's all I have right now. Thanks for reading! Oh, also, am I wasting my time? -Phovos 2 Quote Click here to read The Bohrok-Kal's Ramblings! Yes, I know there were 7 months between the last two episodes but oh well. Reznas
Kaita Combiners - Build a new combiner or Kaita using only three models - I like the idea of using only three sets to create a MoC. It limits the pieces you can use, and takes a lot of creativity and innovation. It's so tiny! - Build something using a maximum of 100 pieces - This could be a pretty decent contest. Again, this wouldn't be easy. You're limited to a finite amount of pieces, and you have to be creative and innovative with whatever you have. Chima Builders - Give a minor Chima character their own buildable character set (like the Lavartus/Cragger/etc big HF-like sets)Woah man, cut down on the chi, man! - Make a massive version of a Chima characterBuild something from the LEGO Movie.RAINBOWS - Build something that contains as many colours as possible yet still looks nice.International World of LEGO - Build something that represents the country you live in.New kid at school - Design a new Chima character New Guys on the Block - Design a new Chima tribe - This idea really struck me as a perfect contest theme. I'd really like to see this happen. I bolded the ideas that I think would be best. -Rez Edited April 25, 2014 by Reznas
BrickPharaoh
Can I give some ideas myself? An LDD-based contest (not necessarily LDD though)COMBINE AND CONQUER! Build a combiner using pieces from up to three sets (of the same line, e.g Ninjago, Exo-Force, Agents, etc). GO BIG OR GO HOME! Build something big in LDD using 1000 pieces or more (up to a certain piece limit). RESURRECT A LONG-GONE LEGO LINE! Visualize one of the discontinued lines and produce a MOC that would be a reasonable set out of that line. These are just some of the thoughts that have crossed my mind before. 1 Quote "Welcome to Valhalla, Warrior." believe victims
I'd like to see a dinosaur-themed BBC contest and one of the rules is that maniraptorans are required to be feathered. Edited April 27, 2014 by Octodad

Meiko
Personally I think BZPower should do more contests in affiliation with other fan sites, such as the Ninjago short story library contest a few years ago that was done in affiliation with BZPower. I think it's a good way for BZPower to step out into different areas of the online LEGO fan community and get attention from new people, while also giving attention to other fan sites that BZPower users might not have been familiar with. I know that Brickipedia has been trying to do more contests lately with its community; maybe BZPower and Brickipedia could do a joint contest between the two sites/communities for something? Not sure if sarcastic or not, but in the event it was an honest consideration of yours, I was thinking more along the lines of a contest affiliated with a site that would extend BZPower's reach to new parts of the LEGO fan community and to more fans, not people who ran away from BZPower to make a site that's dead as a doornail now. 1 Quote -- Meiko - @georgebarnick LUG Ambassador and administrator at Brickipedia News reporter and database administrator at Brickset Administrator at BIONICLEsector01 DISCLAIMER: All opinions and contributions made under this account are based solely on my own personal thoughts and opinions, and in no way represent any of the above groups/entities. Aanchir
Here's an art contest idea: create something focusing on a LEGO theme that began and ended before BIONICLE was introduced. Like Fabuland, Slizer/Throwbots, Roboriders, Cyber-Slam, Ice Planet 2002, or M:Tron. That should be enough to force people to think outside the box a little, though it might still be too broad. Perhaps it could be made something more specific, like a hypothetical comic-book cover for one of those themes, though I'm worried that narrowing the focus even beyond themes that don't get a lot of attention here on BZPower might lead to too few people entering. Another art contest idea: a contest inspired by this year's Duplo Castle and Super Heroes sets, asking people to design Duplo versions of characters from another LEGO theme! They could be drawings, sculptures, 3D renders, or what-have-you. For a System-Based Creations contest, how about to build something from a constraction theme like BIONICLE or Hero Factory using System parts. It could be a minifigure-scale model or a sculpture of something like the Mata Nui robot or the Nuva Cube at any scale. Probably best to add a "no mosaics" rule to prevent people from taking the easy way out, though "relief sculptures" built on a flat surface (like a 3D model of the island of Mata Nui) would be fine. Pomegranate
BZP should have a contest where the results are posted up on their designated day, instead of being missing even a week after deadlinecough cough SBCC3 The "it's so tiny!" idea sounds the funnest to me, due to the limited piece count it would open up the contest to a lot more members who wouldn't choose to sit out cause they simply don't have an insane amount of parts like others do. It'd definitely be an interesting challenge, too! Edited April 27, 2014 by Pomegranate Quote .

Cross-site promotions have always seemed like a good idea to me, as long as BZPower doesn't get the shorter end of the stick and is just a sidekick to the big site. -Gata Edited April 27, 2014 by Gatanui Quote - Gata Please don't use my avatar or signature without permission, thanks! Pohatu: Uniter of Stone
What about a "Demake" contest, where you take a vehicle or character and make it like a 2001 or 2002 set, with at least one play function like those sets? Phovos
A contest for the best contest idea. -Gata Sure. Contestception. I'd like to see a dinosaur-themed BBC contest and one of the rules is that maniraptorans are required to be feathered. I'd like that too. I loooove dinosaurs. They have to be fairly anatomically correct or at least a real dinosaur. As for the branching out and cooperating with another LEGO site, that's a great idea too! A final idea, we all design something and get it on LEGO Ideas/Cusoo. Quote Click here to read The Bohrok-Kal's Ramblings! Yes, I know there were 7 months between the last two episodes but oh well.
