Hapori Tohu
Dum!Dum!, the Danish animation studio responsible for the 2015 Bionicle webisodes and character videos, has updated their portfolio with a Bionicle page. Among other things, it features a 30-second highlight reel, a seven second "look test" showing a more realistic version of Kopaka, and confirmation that the studio has completed nineteen 90-second webisodes for the year as a whole (presumably, "The Legend" and two nine-webisode seasons). The anticipation for the second season of webisodes is certainly building! View the full article 3 Quote News Forums Q&A
masterchirox580
I think I would have preferred the more realistic art style. Quote It's time to move on.
Lyichir
Man, those stills just highlight how great the animation style for these is... the characters and background objects made of flat, angular shapes make the scenes almost look like a pop-up book.On the other hand, that look test also looks super-rad. It's like a middle-ground between the actual set and the final style chosen for the animations. 1 Quote Formerly Lyichir: Rachira of Influence Aanchir's and Meiko's brother
believe victims
I think I would have preferred the more realistic art style. Honestly, I think i prefer the final style more. It has more personality, IMO. Edited August 5, 2015 by Dina Saruyama
doodleloot
I think I would have preferred the more realistic art style. Honestly, I think i prefer the final story more. It has more personality, IMO. I agree, the more realistic style looks cool for still images but it honestly looked a bit odd in the animation test. Not to mention that it would have been much more expensive to produce than the final art style. 2 Quote Hail Denmark
MrSciFiGuy
Obviously I would have preferred the more realistic style, but I can understand the larger budget needed for such a task. But I am happy with the current animations. They are gorgeous and these stills emphasize that. I thought there might be more, with the story picking up and actual conflict starting. Ford
I'm glad the final design is what it is. The prelim is just too much; it doesn't look like it fits in with the background a well as the final character models and like I said, it's just overdoing it. Bonkle
The look test is cool, but I think the whole show like that would be too "epic". I like the animation how it is, even if it seriously warps some of the designs. Quote I been away a long time.
Wazdakka
Pretty cool. I wish the guys who did MNOG could've helped though. Quote Steam Name: Toa Hahli Mahri. Xbox Live Gamertag: Makuta. Rooster Nui
Yeah, I prefer how it is, though the realistic style is definitely interesting to see. The style that's actually being used reminds me of MNOG, which was an influence for it, which is great.

Nidhiki of the Shadows
So awesome! I love seeing how this stuff comes together. That concept video was very interesting... I prefer that art style, but I'm not disappointed with what we ended up with. Again, I'm so glad they are sharing so much of the behind the scenes concepts and ideas, definitely something G1 lacked. -NotS
