The real challenge will be to find someone who would like to be your second player. I know I said I was willing to offer, but now that I've seen what the options are, that may not be so easy. For online co-op, either we both need to make an Epic Games account (which I'm not willing to do just for this one game) or (at least if you play it on Steam) you must select a friend to play with (and personally, I'm not willing to add anyone to my friends list if I don't know them in real life). And besides, for communications purposes, I would recommend local mode anyway. Unless if you find someone else who is willing to play this game with you, pretty much the only real opportunity I might have to join you would be if I happen to be traveling somewhere close to where you live. (I haven't really gone anywhere in a while, though I have begun to consider attending some BrickFair events or some other similar conventions. Do you mind letting me know which such annual events are relatively close to where you live? I won't make any promises, but I would like to know which options may be worth considering.) Great to know! I'm glad that it's a fun game, so I'll keep my eyes out for a future sale. I might be able to convince my significant other to play in the future, but it would likely have to be on a weekend due to our work schedules. The closest events to me are BrickFair NoVA (which is currently looking for a new home) and BrickFair Oaks. Neither are especially close, and I usually end up staying at a hotel for both. Chronicler06 Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Good to hear that you're willing to possibly try Lego Voyagers at some point, despite how unlikely it might be for me to fill the role of Player 2. On a related note, I started playing Lego Party earlier this week, and I strongly believe this would be a very fun game to have on your Twitch streams. First of all, it is absolutely possible to play this game on your own, you just have to set the three other player slots to be bots (to which you even have the option to set their difficulty rating). You have two options for allowing additional players to join, either local with multiple controllers, or online by either hosting and sharing a code to others or by entering a code to join someone else (not unlike how we were able to get together on Lego Brawls). I have not yet actually tested if the online mode works like I assume, but since I convinced my family to get this game on our Nintendo Switch, I might eventually get an opportunity to try it out and will let you know how it goes. As for the gameplay, think of it working like a board game, except each turn starts with a minigame, the results of which will determine which order the players take their turns on the board. Depending on which of the four "Challenge Zones" you decide to play on, a complete game typically lasts somewhere around one to two hours, so be sure to plan for that if you decide to try this game. I will say from experience that it is possible to save and later resume a game (at least on local mode, I don't know about online mode), so if you're a little short on time (or trying to go for any specific achievements), that could be helpful for you. My personal experience with Lego Party has been very great so far. As of this week's progress (a few hours each day for the past five days), I've managed to unlock most of the achievements (some of the more tricky ones were thanks to having all three bots players set to the easy difficulty, along with a few moments of good fortune, and possibly taking unfair advantage of the save game feature), so now all I have left to go are the ones that involve the long grind of unlocking everything. Thankfully, unlike Lego Brawls, Lego Party does not have any weekly restrictions, so I can keep making progress whenever I have time available. Of course, it also helps that I'm having a lot of fun with this game as I continue to make progress, enough that I can say there are definitely some minigames I like more than others (and some I like less than others). Overall, I would recommend Lego Party even more than I did for Lego Voyagers, because that's how much fun I'm still having with this game. I am very much looking forward to the possibility of playing this game with you (as well as maybe having up to two more players join us, if anyone else might also be interested). 1 Quote Formerly known as Takanuva's Symbol, I rejoined BZPower on October 10, 2012. Chronicler06 Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Good to be back to weekly livestreams. Sorry I wasn't able to be as helpful as I normally would be at certain moments. My attention tonight was divided between watching this and something else completely different (and both things somehow managed to end at approximately the same time). I don't anticipate any such disruptions for the next three weeks, so hopefully you won't struggle as much with just one level as you did this week. In any case, at least some progress was made, and I look forward to more next week. 1 Quote Formerly known as Takanuva's Symbol, I rejoined BZPower on October 10, 2012. Chronicler06 Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Three more levels fully completed and a couple of lesser achievements as well, so that's good progress for this week. Not much else I can think of worth mentioning for this week's stream, so we'll see how much longer it'll take to get through the remaining things left to do in this game. 1 Quote Formerly known as Takanuva's Symbol, I rejoined BZPower on October 10, 2012. Chronicler06 Posted March 20 Posted March 20 Such is the consequences of rushing to get through things. Restarting one level twice and then completely missing the red brick on another level just because it happened to come after the final minikit. You might feel like you can easily go through three levels in one session, but that opens the door to the kind of recklessness that forces you to double back and even triple back over and over. Sometimes, it's better to just slow down a little and take a moment (maybe even just pause the game for a few seconds) to think about what you have left to do before you try to move on to the next zone. (If nothing else, it would give me an opportunity to actually get a comment out for you to read before it's too late.) Hopefully, there won't be too much trouble with your next stream two weeks from now. Quote Formerly known as Takanuva's Symbol, I rejoined BZPower on October 10, 2012. Chronicler06 Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Three more levels fully completed without too much trouble. Looks like there's only five more left to go (plus the one where you missed the red brick at the end), along with the bonus level (which I think might now be unlocked, now that you've got True Hero on all 15 hero levels). Probably won't be much longer before 100% completion is reached on this game. Do you plan to start playing that new Lego Batman game as soon as it comes out? If so, then at the rate you're going towards completing Lego Batman 1, that could leave you with about a month between finishing that old game and starting the new game. Do you have anything in mind that could occupy that intervening four or so weeks? Perhaps some Lego set builds you've wanted to get around to? Chronicler06 Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Only two more levels left to fully complete, as well as the bonus hero level. Aside from that glitched achievement with the street lights (not to mention that achievement for playing a level in co-op mode), I think you'll likely have everything completed by the end of the next stream. If that happens, then obviously the questions I asked last week will become worth asking again. While you did say you intended to move on to Lego Batman 2 after completing Lego Batman 1, I'm not sure if only four or five weeks ahead of the release of the new Lego Batman game would be worth it, but I guess that choice is entirely up to you. 1 Quote Formerly known as Takanuva's Symbol, I rejoined BZPower on October 10, 2012. I think the best way for me to stream myself playing the new Batman game will require me getting an Xbox Series S. Depending on when that happens will depend on when I start streaming it. So I may start playing LEGO Batman 2 while I work on getting the new (to me) console and getting it set up. Quote Bio of a BZP Admin

Chronicler06 Posted April 18 Posted April 18 A little overtime, but at least you managed to finally reach 100% completion of the first Lego Batman game. Great work! Since you say you're uncertain when you'll be able to be ready to start the new upcoming Lego Batman game, I think you're right that it would be a good idea to go ahead with Lego Batman 2 for the next stream. After a quick glance through the guide, I would recommend you explore the city first and save replaying the levels for last, as those levels offer only the ten minikits and a citizen in peril, while everything else is found out in the huge hub world. The very first thing I would recommend you do is battle and purchase the villain characters in each district, as some of them possess special abilities you'll need for obtaining other things (especially some of the red bricks). At least you'll have the option of using Superman to quickly fly around from place to place throughout the city. If you want the Red Bricks as quickly as possible, then focus on first obtaining at least Lex Luthor, Joker, and Riddler. 1 Quote Formerly known as Takanuva's Symbol, I rejoined BZPower on October 10, 2012. Chronicler06 Posted April 24 Posted April 24 After spending some time earlier today working on another Lego set (Lunar Outpost Moon Rover from the Technic theme), I had just enough time to get things set up to watch today's stream, and thus had to set aside all the other things I would normally do until after the stream, which is why it took me a while to finally get to comment here. Anyway, not a bad start towards full game completion. All red bricks collected and a few villains defeated and purchased along the way. As for what to do next, I would recommend finishing off the rest of the boss villains throughout the city (keeping in mind some of the achievements for defeating certain villains with certain heroes). I also recommend using Batman rather than Superman to fight off certain goons until you're able to purchase them. And don't forget, the way back into the Batcave (at least the ground path) is to go straight north from the bridge. 1 Quote Formerly known as Takanuva's Symbol, I rejoined BZPower on October 10, 2012. Chronicler06 Posted April 27 Posted April 27 Unfortunately, I will very likely miss the next stream on Friday, so I might as well add on a bit to my previous post. If you manage to defeat all of the villains throughout the hub word and still have some time to spare, I would recommend the next thing you do is go through the levels. The only things to collect in each level are ten minikits and one citizen in peril, but you'll have a more limited setting to help you refamiliarize yourself with the various suits used by Batman and Robin. (Worth noting is that unlike the first Lego Batman game, in this game the only way to switch to any of the alternate suits is to find one of those suit swapper panels, so if you ever see a certain suit swapper, then chances are you'll need to use that suit somewhere nearby.) And if you need a little extra help, here's the guide I typically use for reference: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2381475850 1 Quote Formerly known as Takanuva's Symbol, I rejoined BZPower on October 10, 2012. Chronicler06 Posted May 3 Posted May 3 A full day later, I'm finally able to have a chance to watch the stream. Yeah, I did say Fridays were going to be difficult for me to be able to watch live. Anyway, looks like you got all the villain characters unlocked (except one of the goons (can't remember if it was Riddler goon or Two-Face goon), which is unlocked like all the other goons, by simply wandering around Gotham City until a group of them show up to attack and then you fight back (not with someone who can instant defeat like Superman) until they become available to purchase), despite the occasional glitch. And not bad on getting most of the minikits in the first level (of the two you missed, the first required using the magnet ability (I think Cyborg has that ability) in the room you had opened behind the gold lock and then doing some more things after that, and the second required using the freeze ability on a waterfall to the right and climbing up the frozen wall). Hopefully, next week's stream will be at a time I can be more easily available, so I can be there to help out every now and then. Besides, the guide I had linked in the previous post covers not just where to find all the collectibles but also lists all of the abilities and all of the characters and what abilities they each have, so you don't have to bother with any web searches, because literally everything there is to know is right there on that one page. Chronicler06 Posted May 8 Posted May 8 (edited) Everything collected on the first three levels, so that's some good progress. And with a few minutes leftover, also got a couple of those gate builds to unlock some hero characters (the others that you can currently afford are one on the west end of the north island and three of the four throughout the south island, but none on the central island). I'm not sure if I'll be able to watch next week, especially if it ends up on Friday, so hopefully you won't have too much trouble going forward with the help of that guide. (And like I said in the chat, sometimes you might have to check the story mode part of the level on that guide if you need a reminder of how to advance to the next area (especially what final tasks would finish the level, so you'll know what not to do if you're still missing a minikit or two).) Chronicler06 Posted May 17 Posted May 17 I finished watching the recording of yesterday's stream and... well... I'll just go ahead and say it. That was kind of painful to watch. Heck, I'm convinced that you wasted so much time practically banging your head against the wall that it would've taken less time for you to simply search though the entire guide for all of the relevant information. First of all, I'm pretty sure I mentioned in my previous post right here that you do not yet have enough gold bricks to purchase any of the gold gate characters on the central island. I'll admit that it's been such a long time since I completed this game that I don't remember if I actually did need to use Aquaman for that particular minikit in Level 4. (If you're too lazy to actually check that guide I had linked for you, Aquaman is located on the northwestern part of the central island and requires 70 gold bricks to be able to purchase, so you might as well either move on to the rest of the levels or do some exploring of the hub world until you've found enough gold bricks.) While I'll admit that I had forgotten just how long it takes to complete Level 5 (much longer than a typical level, but at least there's some rather quick ones later on), I will say that I did not forget that Superman has the freeze ability. To spell out what you couldn't figure out at the end of the stream, you had to freeze the waterfall in the back so that Batman can grab the electricity suit down on that lower level, then climb up the frozen waterfall and continue on through that electrical barrier. For next week, I will once again not be available on Friday, so hopefully you'll actually read all of this or at least stream on Thursday (ideally both). Chronicler06 Posted May 22 Posted May 22 Glad I could help you out with a few things this time (especially the reminder about Superman's freeze breath yet again). Levels 6, 7, and 8 are fully completed, though I suspect the message you ignored upon starting a new level was that all of your save progress was lost on one of those other levels from last week. If that's the case, then do yourself a favor and wait until a day when I'm available to help out with that particular level. You should already have everything you need to complete Level 5. It's just a very long level, so you might as well dedicate an entire stream to that one level. Unfortunately, Friday is once again a no-go for me, so you'll be practically on your own again next week (unless of course if you decide to go back to Thursday, for which I'm likely to be available). Chronicler06 Posted May 30 Posted May 30 I finally caught a break this week to be (partially) available this Friday. Now that I'm (completely) available again (and rewatched the second half of the stream for anything I might've missed while distracted the first time), I can finally get this comment in. Three levels replayed, though a few things missed due to needing Aquaman (believe me, if I had remembered how much that one character was necessary, I would've initially recommended collecting some more gold bricks in the hub world until you could get him). I just glanced through the guide again for reminders, and it seems to last four levels are relatively quick enough that I'm sure you could get through them all in a single stream (though again one or two thing would require Aquaman). Hopefully things will go well next week. Quote Formerly known as Takanuva's Symbol, I rejoined BZPower on October 10, 2012. Chronicler06 Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Significant progress on the last four levels. One of them required a few quick repeats, but eventually everything was collected in that level. Pity many of the levels are not quite complete due to needing Aquaman, but hopefully you're now familiar with the suits used by Batman and Robin that you can start collecting some gold bricks throughout the hub world without too much struggle. Good news is that regardless of whether the next stream will be on Thursday or Friday, I'll be able to watch live. I guess the month of May was much more busy for me than June is turning out to be so far. 1 Quote Formerly known as Takanuva's Symbol, I rejoined BZPower on October 10, 2012. Chronicler06 Posted June 13 Posted June 13 (edited) Wow, I guess focusing on just rescuing all the citizens in peril across Gotham City was a rather quick and easy way to collect enough gold bricks to purchase that one hero character you needed. Really wish I had remembered that to begin with. But I do remember Lego Batman 3 being much more of a confusing hassle trying to figure out which characters need to be unlocked and which characters need to be unlocked to unlock those other characters you need. So convoluted that free playing the levels in numerical order was practically impossible. Probably for the best that you decided to do only the first two Lego Batman games before moving on to the new Lego Batman game. Anyway, good to see you got enough gold bricks to obtain all but four of the gold gate hero characters (and finally got that last remaining goon character as well), and even had enough time to fully complete one of the levels from that week of horrible struggle. By the way, I forgot to mention that I'll be out of town next weekend, so if you want my assistance in next week's stream, it needs to be on Thursday, because I definitely won't be available on Friday and then probably won't get a chance to check on anything until the following Sunday night. Chronicler06 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Good effort on finally fully completing the two longest levels of the game, which included the last of the citizens in peril. Just four more minikits across three other levels left to go, then it'll be time to go after gold bricks and other things throughout the massive hub world.
