Havelock Vetinari
@Adder. We could probably do a flashback battle or something if you want a bit of action. Madara: Mangekyou Master
@Basilisk & Flare - I recommend an onboard simulator. Rather than a flashback. It could play out almost identically. The main problem is that if any of Flare's clone characters fought at the first battle of Geonosis, they would be roughly 30 years old... Physically at the age of 60 and just about ready for "retirement." Quote STAR WARS GALAXY AT WAR ... we have cookies

Madara: Mangekyou Master
Or you could have character building conversation while eating hot dogs at the ship's cafeteria (followed by throwing the cook out of the airlock). HeavyMetalSunshineSister
Wow... I ain't placing any bets on how a Gozanti would do against half a handful of what a standard-config YV-929 would carry. HeavyMetalSunshineSister
Yeah, I noted the modifications that you made - though the YV-929 is a combat vessel with, in the standard configuration, double the cargo space of a Gozanti. If Tuorri ever got the change to get his hands on one... well, the armor might be less tough than the Gozanti's, but it has shields where the Gozanti doesn't, so... Madara: Mangekyou Master
@Strack- Yeah, a Gozanti cruiser is less than a third of the length of a CR90 corvette like the Tantive IV. 41.8 meters to 150 meters Edited June 11, 2013 by Madara: Mangekyou Master Quote STAR WARS GALAXY AT WAR ... we have cookies

HeavyMetalSunshineSister
Another player brought up an interesting point. I've been treating the ship like the torpedo launcher and laser batteries are fixed in place - is there anything to suggest that that is not the case? Madara: Mangekyou Master
Torpedo launchers are generally somewhat fixed in place. While the quad-laser turrets can rotate, they'll generally have a fixed arc. That being said, it's gotta a pretty wide arc. :3 Edited June 11, 2013 by Madara: Mangekyou Master Quote STAR WARS GALAXY AT WAR ... we have cookies
HeavyMetalSunshineSister
I was asking more about the quad laser batteries than the quad laser turrets - if a turret cannot rotate, then it's the worst turret ever, and can probably be blamed on Soviet engineering. Madara: Mangekyou Master
Potato, potato. XD Going by this design... HeavyMetalSunshineSister
That saying really doesn't work in writing. Hmm... Probably the controls for the batteries are fully controlled from the copilot's station. Gives a bit of a wider frontal firing arc without making the crew issue more complicated. Madara: Mangekyou Master
That would make sense, design-wise. One thing to note is that proton torpedoes appear to have the ability to maneuver. I'm not sure to what extent, but I believe that once they're locked on, they can make turns as sharp as 90 degrees to hit their target. HeavyMetalSunshineSister
That is good to know. I wasn't sure if that was just the homing ones that could track a target to some extent, or all of them.
