  1. Hi, guys! I am not sure if you remember a certain Bionicle video game called Bionicle: The Game in 2003, so I would say it’s been 15 years. 3 months, and a day since the game was released on September 1, 2003. If anyone remembers the game from their childhood, let’s celebrate. To celebrate, let me tell you what the game is: The game is the first Bionicle game to have console versions, like PlayStation 2 (I played the game with that version). It is based on Bionicle’s 2001-2003 storylines and and the direct-to-video movie called Bionicle: Mask of Light in 2003. It is about the Toa Mata/Toa Nuva and Takanuva fighting Makuta and his forces to save the island of Mata Nui from them. The console versions are mainly about the 2002 and 2003 storylines. There are eight levels, each is where you play as one of the Toa in its Wahi: 1. Tahu Mata - Tahu fights four Kohrak, a breed of the Bohrok. It’s also where Takua found a mysterious Kanohi mask. 2. Kopaka Mata - Kopaka slides though snowy mountains to find and fight a Gahlok and a Tahnok before they reach Ko-Koro to attack it. 3. Gali Nuva - after the Toa Mata got turned into the Toa Nuva by the Krana that they collected, Gali fights against the Bohrok-Kal, who threaten the Ga-Matoran. After that, Takua warns Gali about the Rahkshi. 4. Pohatu Nuva - Gali warms Pohatu about the Rahkshi, as Pohatu goes to warn Onua about it. Pohatu goes in a mining cart and travels into the Onu-Wahi to find Onua. 5. Onua Nuva - Onua goes to find and fight a Rahkshi called a Lerahk. 6. Lewa Nuva - Gali warns Lewa about the Rahkshi, as Lewa goes to find and fight another Rahkshi called a Panrahk. 7. Tahu Nuva - Tahu surfs on lava to race against another Rahkshi called a Kurahk, who has the mask that Takua was talking about called the Mask of Light. After defeating Kurahk, the Mask goes on Takua’s face and turns into into the legendary Toa of Light called Takanuva (called Takua Nuva in the game) before he disappears. 8. Takua Nuva - Takanuva challenges Makuta to a fight to end Makuta’s threat once and for once. After Takanuva defeated Makuta, he combined with Makuta to become Takutanuva, who opened a door to a new place. Along the way, when you can shoot energy to your enemies, which are the Infected Rahi. Kopaka and Tahu Nuva only do surfing in their levels while the others travel on foot. Gali and Onua do a special move called a Nuva Blast, which can act like a bomb that can destroy everything in its path in the area, but it takes up a lot of energy. Gali can swim and Lewa can fly. You also have to rescue Matoran and collect Lightstones. In the handheld versions, you get to play as all six Toa Mata and six Toa Nuva. The Toa Mata fight against the Bohrok, and then the Toa Nuva fight against the Rahkshi. The Toa Nuva never fought the Bohrok-Kal. Anyway, let me review the console versions of the game. I like that the game made characters look more like a human, like the movie, but the graphics are kind of horrible. I like the movie’s better. Plus, I understand that each Toa has two fingers in each hands, like the Tahu Mata, Lewa Mata, and Pohatu Mata sets in 2001, but they look weird with them when you compare them to the movie, where characters have five fingers in each hand. The level design is fine, but I wish Kopaka Mata and Tahu Nuva could do some travelling. It’s interesting we get to explore the island of Mata Nui, which is divided into six regions. Plus, I wish Kopaka Nuva, Gali Mata, Pohatu Mata, Onua Mata, and Lewa Mata are playable (there is a commercial where you can play as Lewa Mata, but that wasn’t shown in the game, sadly). I also wish some of the levels could have been longer. As for the story, it is rushed. It has the storylines combined, so the Toa wouldn’t catch a break. It is radically different from the canon story, as there are some different things that don’t make sense, like Krana turning the Toa Mata into the Toa Nuva, Gali defeating all six of the Bohrok-Kal, the Panrahk left behind a Krana, and Takanuva putting his mask of Makuta’s face to combine with him into Takutanuva. However, I do like that Takanuva fights Makuta by blasting him and fighting his minions rather doing a Kohlii match with him. Sadly, you never see all of the Turaga, for that you only see three of them, all six Matoran types, and all six Rahkshi. The 2001 storyline is not shown, either. You never fight all of the Bohrok or the Rahkshi, nor do you fight the Bohrok-Kal in the handheld versions. I wish the game could have been longer if these ideas had happened. I heard that Lego didn’t have time to do these things. Overall, the game is a little fun, but it is not the best Lego or Bionicle game that I ever played. Wished it has more stuff and could have been longer. Nothing’s perfect much. In fact, I heard it got negative reviews. Plus, there was originally a sequel for the game, which is based on the 2004 storyline and another movie called Bionicle 2: Legends of Metru Nui, but it got cancelled. We haven’t known that until several years ago in this decade. It was surprising when that happened. I loved Bionicle Heroes in 2006 better than Bionicle: The Game because it is longer and has more stuff, something that can last many hours. The 2003 game, though, only lasts an hour. Not much and too short. That’s all because Heroes is made by Traveller’s Tales, and they make the best Lego games there are. Lego should’ve have took some more time improving the 2003 game. However, we get to see how would characters that never appeared in the movie look like if they had. Plus, the Nuva Blast influenced Greg Farshtey to make a new part of the G1 story, where Toa in general can do a powerful and explosive attack, which is similar to the Nuva Blast. So, what’s your favorite part of the game? For me, well, I like the Gali, Onua, and the Takanuva levels the best. How would you celebrate the game’s 15th anniversary? For me, well, I would replay the game. Happy 15th anniversary to the game, even if it is cruddy.
  2. Hi, guys! I know that Bionicle had ended a year ago sadly, but let’s be happy about Bionicle for something else. You see, this year, 2017, is the 15th anniversary of Bionicle’s 2002 storyline. I know that this year that we got the music album for the movie, Bionicle: Mask of Light’s 14th anniversary, but if you think this isn’t enough for this year, then let’s celebrate the 15th anniversary of the 2002 storyline. That would enlighten you more. Let me tell you the 2002 storyline: The 2002 storyline is about the Toa Mata fighting against a new menace that Makuta Teridax awakened, which are chicken-like creatures called the Bohrok, who want to destroy the island of Mata Nui and enslave its people with their mask-like “brains” called the Krana. The Krana are both the Bohrok’s strength and weakness, so the Toa have to collect lots of their Krana in order to defeat them while a Matoran named Nuparu invented mechs called Boxors to fight the Bohrok. After the Toa did, they find the Bohrok’s nest, where they discover mechs called Exo-Toa. They use the mechs to fight against the Bohrok’s twin queens called the Bahrag in order to end the threat. However, the Toa learn that using their elemental powers is their only hope, so they combined their powers to imprison the Bahrag. Then, the Toa touch Energized Protdermis, which transform them into stronger versions of themselves called the Toa Nuva. The Bohrok are defeated. To celebrate, let me ask you this: What are your fond memories about the storyline and/or what do you like about it? For me, I like the Bohrok. They look cool, and it’s very cool that they work like an army, can turn into balls, and can attack people using their heads, like a chicken pecking, and launch their Krana to mind-control their victims. The Bohrok are the villain counterparts of the Toa Mata because of their elemental powers (well, except for Levahk because it has Acid powers while Lewa has Air powers, but both are green. Lol. ). It’s neat that the Bohrok have those Turaga-like creatures called the Bohrok Va to assist them. The Va too can launch Krana and has Bohrok shields for heads. The Boxor is quite impressive because it has hook-like hands that can punch Bohrok, similar to Iron Man from Marvel using his Hulkbuster armor to fight and defeat the Hulk. The Exo-Toa are awesome because they are mechs that can be used by the Toa, and the Toa could use them to fight the Bahrag. The Bahrag are epic because they look like giant versions of the Bohrok, and when they attack people with their heads, they can try to eat them, similar to the Muaka and Kane-Ra from the 2001 storyline. The Toa Nuva look very cool. They are like Super Sonic from Sonic the Hedgehog, but the transformation is permanent. I like their silver armor. Makes them look stylish. I love their weapons because of the designs and the Toa can use them with two functions, one for fighting and one for transportation (it’s what the Toa Masters from Bionicle’s 2015 storyline had). Their masks look like that they just came out of a mutating goo, which I find cool as well. Next, the combo models. The Bohrok and Bohrok Va Kaita are cool, but the Bohrok Kaita’s legs look kind of hollow, and they have stubby arms. The Toa Nuva Kaita are awesome as well, but the one with Lewa, Kopaka, and Gali looks weirds because of how the instructions build him. I mean, he looks like a strange-looking hunchback. The alternate models are alright. It’s cool that Boxor can be rebuilt as a big steed. The Bahrag look mighty cool and terrifying as a giant spider-like creature, but they look very weird, and I don’t think that the mouth-chomping function is stable because there is so much stuff in there. The Boxor’s alternate form is alright, but it looks a little weird because it has awfully-long arms pointing downwards. As for the story and media, I think the story is very good, and the comics and Bohrok Online Animations are great. I like the part where Onua encourages Lewa to remove the Krana from his face (the second time Onua saved Lewa from being mind-controlled. The first being Lewa being controlled by an Infected Kanohi.). The Toa Mata going scavenger hunting for Krana is a neat quest, though I wish we could’ve seen more of it, like see in each and every Toa Mata collecting all of his/her Krana before regrouping at the Bohrok Nest. It’s interesting that the Krana are like organic counterparts to Kanohi. It’s awesome that the Toa Mata and the Matoran used mechs to fight the Bohrok and their queens. It’s also cool that the queens have all of the Bohrok’s powers and extra ones. It’s awesome to see the Toa combing their powers to imprison the queens to end the threat and then get transformed into the Toa Nuva. For the Bohrok Animations, I thought they’re good. It’s neat to see what the Matoran are during the Toa’s adventures. It’s where we see Hewkii and Macku “secretly have a crush with each other”, and I find that cute and funny (even though that Greg Farshtey made love non-canon). I also like the part where Takua went to confront the Bohrok while trying to protect the Matoran. I like that the animations used the animation style from the Mata Nui Online Game, though that I wish that there’s a similar game for the storyline. So, guys, what are your fond memories of the storyline, what do you like about it, what’s your favorite 2002 set, favorite character(s) in 2002, favorite moment in the storyline, what things remind you of the 2002 storyline, and/or how would you celebrate it? For me, well, my favorite sets are the Bohrok, Exo-Toa, Bahrag, Tahu Nuva, Lewa Nuva, Kopaka Nuva, and Onua Nuva, and my favorite characters are Tahu, Lewa, Onua, Nuparu, and the Bahrag. The things that remind are: 1. The Cybug craziness from Wreck-It Ralph in 2012 2. The mutated monkey rampage from The Powerpuff Girls Movie in 2002 3. The Brain Attack and Invasion From Below storylines from Hero Factory 4. Those tiny Insecticons that transform into balls from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in 2009
  3. When you look back on the years of Bionicle (both generation 1 and 2), Both series had wonderful set designs and concepts, but there is absolutely no denying that the newer models had better articulation. In our final year, 2016, we got to see something that was previously exclusive only to the largest of Titan sets: waist articulation. Looking back even further to the classic/golden years of Bionicle (2001-2003), we had even less articulation! Necks and knees were introduced in the very last wave of canister sets in 2003, and we didn't get to see the standardization of elbows until 2004 and onward. I've seen dozens of people pouring their hearts and souls into 3D printing masks (specifically the 2016 Mask of Ultimate Power), but I've been shocked to see that nobody has thought to try some other things with 3D printing at their disposal. The classic Bionicle sets are some of the most beloved sets in all our hearts, I have no doubt, namely the 2001 Toa sets. But these very first sets were limited to mere ankle, hip, and shoulder movement, only some of them even had wrists! Ah. The classic Bionicle arm/leg piece. Something I'm sure many of you recognize. Maybe you even get a little bit of a nostalgic tingle in you when you see it. But despite this, it hasn't aged well in comparison to some of the more advanced CCBS limb articulation designs, has it? Looking at this piece's design, you can see the greebling to make it appear as though it can be articulated in the center, with pistons and an opening in the middle as though it was meant to bend. In fact, as you can see in the first picture of Tahu above, much of the box art and promotional design showed sets with these pieces bent in these exact ways! What if it could bend though? Surely with the technology of 3D printing at our disposal, it's possible? This piece is only the first I would love to see modernized. Is it possible? A few ideas jump to mind, namely taking the piece and separating it in the middle, and placing something like one of these on each half, allowing them to connect and bend. I believe the standard leg/arm would be the simplest to design, but there are plenty of other classic parts that would do marvelously with additional articulation, such as these The biggest challenge, however, would be in finally bringing the 2001 sets up to date with the 2016 ones entirely, by giving them waist articulation in this piece. Have you ever wondered if this was possible? Do any ideas that I haven't mentioned jump to mind? Please post and help me make this idea a reality!
  4. The old 2002 Bionicle site on Wayback Machine it's just a mess of broken links and stuff... So this evening I decided to (try to) rebuild the home page (at least get it as close to the original as possible)! I cleaned everything up as well as I could - Dropbox link All the links are broken and I need to fix the News Crawler(in the blank space just above the grey bar) but other-wise everything looks nice! I don't know if I am going to continue working on this, though I am curious to see if anyone other than me still finds interest in a 14 year old site...
  5. I'm looking to obtain this CD from 2002: Anyone who might have it, please let me know!
  6. We're looking at The Toa Mata, Nuva, and Phantoka/Mistika. The main team of the Bionicle story. This doesn't include gen2's sets because the poll only allows for three questions, so bear with me. Who do you think got the short end of the stick with each wave? Personally, I think Pohatu wins for 2001 and 2002. Poor Pohatu... he always gets the lamest or weirdest one... first he has kicking, which really made his body look weird, then he didn't really have proper weapons in 2008, and now, in 2015, he's the smallest and blandest of the new Toa. It's ironic to me, because he's one of my favorites. Heck, all of them are great, but I love Pohatu a whole bunch. As for 2008, though, I think Onua wins (or loses, depending on how you see it) because his Mistika form betrayed his iconic look of short and stocky, and replaced it with tall and lean.
  7. Apologies if this has been answered before, but I wasn't able to find any information either way on the subject. Did Greg ever explain the origins of the Bahrag and Bohrok-Kal? I know Bohrok are transformed Av-Matoran, and that he confirmed Toa of Light cannot become normal Bohrok. Do Toa of Light become Bohrok-Kal and/or Bahrag, then? Were the Bahrag and Kal just created with the MU like most other beings? Are Kal regular Bohrok exposed to Protodermis (a sort of "Bohrok Nuva")? Been thinking a lot about Bohrok weirdness lately and this issue started bugging me (No pun intended ). Lewa0111 Nuva
  8. Hello BZPower! I'm on holiday and bored so I decided to make a poll that I hope will make clear the most popular Bionicle set. How it works: I am going to be going year by year making a poll on which there is an option for every set of that year and when I close them (probably in 1st January 2015) I will make a new poll consisting of the winners of each one which people vote on. PLEASE DO NOT VOTE TWICE ON A SINGLE POLL! Thank you ! I will not be counting: anything that isn't Lego, the Turaga Kabaya, any combiners that were not released by themselves (e.g. I will count Kardas but not the Toa Kaita), super rare things like the Piraka Kaita or Sand Tarakava and things like mask packs or Krana. I will be counting: any standard sets in canisters or boxes, promotional (good/bad guy sets, click, ect), special editions (including combiners like Irnakk) and play-sets. Keep in mind that these sets are in the forms they are in in that year. Bionicle 2015: this will be only Gen 1 unless I decide otherwise. A copy with very few differences, sounds like a Bohrok
  9. Welcome to the second installment in my new series of Bionicle flash fics, The Biological Chronicle. For those who don't know what it is, allow me to quote myself from the first fic's introduction: With that out of the way, enjoy: 2002 The Bohrok were like an incoming tidal wave. There was nothing you could do to stop them. In their single-minded determination to complete their unknown mission, they would level mountains, dry up rivers, cut down forests, and burn down whole villages. They never harmed anyone unless they got in the way, true, but they would often assimilate the enemy into the swarm, rather than kill them, which was not a much better fate. Onua knew all of this, especially the last part. As he crouched low among the boulders of the Onu-Wahi plains, he remembered how Lewa had been taken over by a Krana just a few days ago. Though he never admitted it, when he first saw that Lewa was a member of the swarm, he had briefly despaired that the entire battle against the swarms was lost. Though Lewa may be better now, there is still much to be concerned about, Onua thought, squinting through the bright light of the sun at the entrance to Onu-Koro that he was hiding near. The Bohrok continue to ravage Mata Nui every day. And I still have yet to collect all of my Krana, which Turaga Vakama said are the secret to stopping the swarms. Today, however, Onua was confident that he would complete his collection. Assuming, of course, the plan worked. Then he heard it, the sound that would haunt him the rest of his days: The chittering of the Bohrok. It was coming from the cavern that he was watching; and not a second later, a swarm of Gahlok exited. The blue Bohrok seemed to adjust to the change in light without trouble because they didn't even slow down. Which worked just fine for Onua. He watched as the first of the Gahlok stepped on the earth in front of the cavern entrance and immediately fell into a concealed hole in the ground. The rest of the Gahlok's siblings didn't seem to notice because they simply fell into the pit with it, their metal bodies clunking against each other until all of them were inside. Onua was amazed at the stupidity of the Gahlok, but he didn't question it. He simply dashed from out of his hiding place and climbed down into the pit he had dug out. He had to move quickly. He remembered what happened the last time the Toa had trapped a swarm of Bohrok and if he wasn't fast, the Gahlok would recover quickly. The Bohrok were still chittering, the sounds of their bodies scraping against each other annoying Onua's ears. He landed on top of a fallen Gahlok and immediately found the last Krana he needed: A Krana Xa. He smacked open the Gahlok's head plate, snatched the Xa, and deposited it into his bag full of other Krana in one smooth motion. With that out of the way, Onua climbed back out of the pit, kicking away a Gahlok that tried to grab his legs as he did so. He reached the top of the pit just as the rest of the swarm recovered from the fall. They, too, were now climbing back up, but they were progressing much slower than Onua due to their lack of climbing claws. The Toa of Earth considered burying them, then decided against it. Burying the Gahlok would probably work, but only temporarily. They would dig themselves out eventually or perhaps be dug out by the Bohrok Va. In any case, Onua knew a more permanent solution was needed. Only the Krana can defeat the Bohrok, Onua thought, glancing at his bag as he ran away from the pit. I need to find the others. The time to defeat the swarms is now. - Comments, criticism, questions, etc. are all welcome . -TNTOS-
  10. So... hello anyone It's been two years since I started this project posting 'Kopaka TRON', I said I was working on Takanuva but it was never satisfied with it and eventually I scapped it. I was thinking of drawing a new version of it... Basically the idea was to represent how the Toa Nuva would look like if they entered the world of TRON (I made up a little story in which they have to enter Mata Nui's operative system to 'reboot' him). And here's the thumbnaaaaaail <--- Click me It's Lewa, flying over the city, maybe fleeing from some enemy I liked the idea of him being able to leave behind light ribbons* from his swords while flying. *those walls of light left behind by vehicles in TRON, reference. I hope I'll be able to make more of this, I really like this project. Who knows, maybe I'll manage to make more before 2015... The background is a thumbnail from the movie, I just made it more green. Lewa was made in pencil and coloured in Photoshop. *a 1900p wide version is available So, what do you think? I hope you like it, feel free to leave a comment
  11. Does anyone remember playing this game? It was one of my favorite games as a kid. My favorite level was in ta-koro.If you played, what were some of your favorite parts/levels?
  12. Well, its been a while since i drew a Bionicle, so i decided to finall draw Kopaka(click on it to see).I gotta say, i probably should've done better in the hatchet shading, i think it did that too quickly...but anyways, i think Kopaka turned out pretty fine! But gee, i actually used a load of stuff, marker, pencil, ballpoint pen for inking, and eraser. I also had so much trouble sketching him....gosh that was such a pain..>.<So...tell me what you think tho, im still kinda expirmenting with trying to draw them my own style, but still trying to make it set-like, since I'm not really that into humanoid bionicle drawings(but people still make incredible art with humanoid bionicles!). So yeah, here it is, and this was kinda an expirmental drawing, with me using marker for the first time, and i finished this one drawing in just one day, unlike others where it took more time to finish.
  13. Chapter 1: The Bohrok AwakenAs the Toa walked on, light flashed down and beamed them out of Makuta's lair. But next to Makuta's lair was another room. As he retreated to regain his power, he brushed against what was inside that room, so that the Toa would not interfere with his plan. What should have never been awakened when living, sentient beings were on the island, he had awakened. Makuta teleported away.Takua was alone in the lair. “Toa? Turaga? Anyone?” He walked around. The darkness had one place with a green light. He followed inside.“What is this?” There was no eerie chill wind, only something telling him he should not touch what he saw. A glowing green half sphere stood in front of him. There were circles bulging out slightly. The circles started to bulge and pulsate in and out.“Mata Nui...what is this?”Takua backed away slowly into a golden orb on a pedestal, with a square-shaped keyhole.“Wait Takua, just gotta see this and record it...just duty...” Takua still just barely convinced himself to stay. He gulped and looked at what was happening. Some of the circles started to burst open. Green sphere-like things flew out of the circles and landed on the ground. They had a strange stripe pattern on the front, clawed shields on the side, two sharp tooth-like blades on the bottom, with the shaft holding the front plate up in between. On the sides of the teeth, but below the front plate, were two red eyes. There seemed to be something behind the clear front plate, but with the stripes and the darkness, he couldn't make it out. The sphere-like things were all identical, and they unfolded. Short, stubby legs extended from the bottom, and they stood on two-toed feet. Arms just like the legs extended, with the shields now replacing hands. Mechanical noises were heard with each of their steps.“AAAAAAAAAAAAAA!” Takua thought he was in a nightmare. They advanced on him steadily. Creaking, chittering, beeping, and buzzing noises surrounded him. One rolled up into a ball and rolled straight for Takua. He was frozen in fear, and knocked down. When he got up, it was in open form again. It extended its head forward at the speed of a Tarakava punch and his mask came off. “No! Not that!” He dived for the mask, but another one of them rolled from the side and knocked him out of the way. He threw a bamboo disk at it, the common self-defense weapon of all Matoran. But the creature stuck out its shield, and spewed acid out of it. Takua narrowly avoided it and ran, never looking back and seeing his disk destroyed.“Give me back MY MASK!” Takua charged at the creature, but changed direction to confuse it. He confused it even more by running away from his mask. Suddenly he was circled by three of them in sphere mode, like a biker gang. “Well, I never played before, but...TIME TO TRY KOLI!!!!!” He tried to kick one like a Koli ball at the one guarding his mask, but it unfolded and knocked him back with its head. He flew at another, which, instead of knocking him the other way, threw him. Three more jumped down out of the green half-sphere, and shot him with acid in perfect sync with the one that threw him. He was hit and burning all over. Everything he owned except for one thing had been destroyed. That one thing was a golden Po-Koro chisel, given to him as a reward for exposing Ahkmou's treachery and helping Pohatu kill a Nui-Jaga. “Wait...this can fit...into that hole on the golden orb!”Takua ran wildly, zigzagging, turning around, and doing the most ridiculous running rountine of all time. The creatures were confused long enough for him to grab his mask. They saw him put it on and all surrounded him. They shot acid, but he leaped on the golden orb and stuck the chisel inside the square-shaped opening. A bubble formed around him and sent him flying rapidly into a tunnel, followed by the much slower creatures. The tunnel spiraled, and the creatures rolled into ball mode and followed him. One of them somehow dug a tunnel without acid and jumped in front of the sphere. The others behind Takua also unfolded. Takua rolled on and knocked the creature in front of him out of the way.“What in the name of Mata Nui are these things?!”A small creature, with the same eyes as the others but a head in the shape of one of their shields walked in. It could not roll into a ball, but it had the body of a Turaga, the feet of a Matoran, and two katanas suitable for cutting away bushes and leaves. They can cut bushes...and Matoran like me. Fantastic. One of the larger creatures somehow flew in sphere mode and landed in front of Takua. Another restrained him from behind. That one was stronger than the others somehow, and crushed the sphere. Acid hit Takua from both sides, and he crumpled to the ground.“No...have to warn...have to live. I can't die...no...” Takua lowered his head, not looking up. He had an idea suddenly. He kicked the smaller creature in the elbow, and it dropped its katana. Takua picked it up and dueled. His acid wound stopped his arm partway through a swing, and the creature slashed his hand. He dropped the sword and the creature picked it up. But there was something on its back. Takua grabbed it and the creatures advanced on him. He got another idea.“You want this, monsters? Take it!”Takua threw it back as hard as he could and ran to the edge of the tunnel. Some of the large creatures chased him, and the others, including the small one, ran back to get what Takua threw. Takua tripped and rolled out of the tunnel. A circular door opened and he rolled out. He had come out of the same door he had tried to open from outside a day ago, while the Toa were out collecting masks. That door was the circular mouth hole of a carving. A carving of Mata Nui's symbolic face. The creatures came out, and Takua ran. He looked back once, and saw them dissolving the carving as more came out the entrance. The short cliff the gate was on soon dissolved, revealing the outside of the tunnel. The tunnel itself was eventually destroyed from the inside and outside. The creatures for some reason paid him no mind, not even turning away from the place they were destroying. Takua ran as fast as he could to Ta-Koro.Takua reached Vakama's hut.“Turaga--”“I know what you saw, Takua. Let me tell you a story. The creatures you saw are called Bohrok. They exist to destroy all of the island, except for the bare rock beneath. They will level even that, for whatever reason. They are meant to clear the island. But not now. Not even close to now. Wake one, and you wake them all. My only guess is that Makuta woke them up. The Toa arrived here, after seeing them. They warned me and the villages. I told them what I am telling you now. Makuta, as they guessed, WILL return. But first he awoke the Bohrok. They have smaller servants, called Bohrok Va. The Bohrok Va have no powers, but have weapons. They have the color of whatever Bohrok they are made to assist, and heads in the shape of their Bohrok's shield. The Bohrok have shields that can shoot elements. Not control, only shoot. They can also be pointed somewhere, and existing samples of their element will fly to the place they choose. These, though dangerous and to be feared, are nowhere near the Toa's powers. The Bohrok and their Bohrok Va, when referred to specifically, have their own names. Tahnok: Fire.Gahlok: Water.Lehvak: Acid.”Takua interrupted. “Why not air?”Vakama shook his head. “I do not know, but the Lehvak are deadly as they are. The others are these.Pahrak: Stone.Nuhvok: Earth.Kohrak: Ice. All of them can push their heads forward, just for sheer smashing power. Each also carries a Krana. Without a Krana, a Bohrok is paralyzed. The Bohrok Va don't have that weakness. They carry spare Krana to their Bohrok. The Bohrok can lower their faceplates as well, showing the Krana. If it knocks your mask off, and thrusts its head forward with the plate down, the Krana will land on your face, forcing you to serve the swarms. The Bohrok Va also have strange weapons. Tahnok Va: Copies of my Firestaff. They can actually shoot fire from those.Gahlok Va: A single copy of one of Gali's hooks.Lehvak Va: Katanas.Pahrak Va: A copy of Onewa's hammer. Nuhvok Va: Twin claws like Onua's.Kohrak Va: Twin ice picks, in the shape of Bohrok teeth.Takua's mouth hung open. “I hope I never meet them again!”Vakama frowned and shook his head. “You will, Takua. You are also a guardsman now. You must have the Virtue of Ta-Koro. Courage. And there is more to the Krana than that. There are eight types, all granting a special power.Krana Xa – Lets the Bohrok form complex strategies.Krana Vu – Lets the Bohrok fly in sphere mode.Krana Yo – Lets the Bohrok dig through anything.Krana Su – Makes the Bohrok incredibly strong.Krana Za – Gives them telepathy. Combined with a Krana Xa holder, these are deadly.Krana Ca – Can form shields around itself, and others. It is also able to protect from ambush.Krana Ja – Can detect even distant obstacles. This has many uses, alone or with other Krana.Krana Bo – Gives the Bohrok night vision. These Krana will also give the possessed wearers these powers. That will make even the best of friends deadly opponents. Worse, the control is greater than that of an infected mask. The victim will still have the ability to see what is happening, however. Some may feel that is a curse, though it can become useful...should the possessed wearer be freed. Each Bohrok's Krana will be the same color as the eyes of the Bohrok using it. Only the Krana that match the Bohrok can be used. And the only way to stop the swarms is to gather all 8 different Krana from all 6 Bohrok. It is far easier to get them from the Bohrok Va. It doesn't really matter where they come from. But when all 8 are gathered, and placed in the slots in the inner Bohrok Nest, it will unlock the secret of stopping the Bohrok. Not even we Turaga know the secret beyond. We told the Toa already of all this. All you must do is your duty. In this troubled time, you will have to stay as a guard. Gali will send you messages of important events through your mental link. Hopefully this time the secret of the Krana will not force you to descend into the nest! You were lucky to return before!”Takua shuddered. “Yeah. And even more lucky to escape the Lehvak and Lehvak Va. They actually decided to attack me!”Vakama nodded. “It is rumored that the different types of Bohrok behave differently from other types. Hope the next ones to arrive are not so aggressive.”Keahi sounded the alarm. “Turaga Vakama, we are being assaulted by these Bohrok you told us about!”Takua was surprised. “You told the whole island?”Vakama facepalmed. “Of course I told them! Use you common sense, Takua! They must be ready. Left unchecked, the Bohrok will destroy the island in one day!”Takua was embarrassed. Right. What is with me? “Um, I'll get my disks and my two pronged spear!”Takua arrived with the weapons and got on top of the wall. To his surprise, Turaga Vakama got on the front line.“You're fighting too, Turaga?”Turaga Vakama never looked away from the advancing Lehvak. “Yes. Though I do not have the full power of a Toa, those with power at all must protect the weaker!”Takua agreed. “Thank you, Turaga. Now, LET'S DO THIS!”The Toa were all at Tahu's mark, the one he had made the previous day.Pohatu was a bit irritated. “Not a single day of peace, huh? These Bohrok will pay for what they are doing to the Matoran!”Gali glared at the outside, even without a Bohrok in sight. “We will destroy them, for the Matoran. It is our duty! Together!”Tahu agreed. “Yes! The Krana will be ours, just as the Kanohi were! And we won't have to search for them, we just have to destroy enough Bohrok to get them!”Onua shook his head. “We haven't seen any aside from those Tahnok that attacked us when we got out.”Tahu growled. “If those melted Kopaka's ice that fast, who's to say the Kohrak can't freeze open flames?”It was one of those times when Lewa didn't even have a trace of a grin on his face. “They can. Turaga Matau told me. But the Bohrok don't have the power of air! That is my advantage over them!”Onua said, “No. They will go for you and Turaga Matau the most then, I think. With you under the power of the Krana, they will have even air on their side.”Lewa frowned. “That's what Turaga Matau said.”Tahu broke in. “Naturally they will want our powers. We will prove that our power is too much for them to handle!”Lehvak Va arrived at the gates of Ta-Koro. They supplied the Lehvak with Krana Vu, and rode on them as they flew across the lava moat, straight to the gates of Ta-Koro. That strategy had been thought out by distant Krana Xa and relayed by Krana Za. It allowed the Lehvak Va to switch the Krana back to normal after arrival at the gates. They dissolved the gates instantly.Jala threw disks at them, but one of them formed a shield, blocking the attack. Then they started dissolving the bases of the walls and bashing them with their heads. The Lehvak Va were knocked down with disks from all the Ta-Matoran.Jala was giving orders. “Keahi, we need to use the bows and arrows! Get them! Kapura! Just throw disks from where you are! Takua, lead Aft and Agni to duel the Lehvak Va with your spears!”The Matoran followed orders. Some Lehvak stopped assaulting the wall and started assaulting the Matoran, only to be hit from behind with arrows. The arrows did little though, and some Matoran were falling off the walls. Those that fell quickly drew spears and fought.Takua was in a hard battle with a Lehvak Va. “What's wrong? Mad I took one of your Krana and threw it?!” He thrusted and the Lehvak Va blocked. It spun around and slashed at him from the back, but he whirled around and blocked with the stick of his staff. He kicked its legs and it fell to the ground. He took its Krana and threw it up to Keahi. A Lehvak flew up, unfolded, and caught it. Before falling it hit Keahi with acid, and he fell down. The Lehvak changed to sphere mode and landed hard next to the base of the wall, further shaking it. Turaga Vakama burned some with his Firestaff. “Take that! And that!” They looked up at him and started to back up. Takua finished off the Lehvak Va he was fighting, but a Lehvak shot him from behind, then kicked him. Takua flew forward. It used its Krana Za, and another Lehvak came in front of him and shot him.“AAAAAAUUUGH!” Takua screamed louder than he ever had before, and the second Lehvak knocked him into the wall with its head. The impact and the acid on him weakened the wall even more. Before he passed out, he contacted Gali with their link.“Gali! Gali! All of you, check on your villages! We're being assauted by Bohrok! Help us! Help...”Takua had passed out.Gali jumped when Takua contacted her. “Everyone, listen to me! Ta-Koro is being hit by Lehvak! Check on your villages!”Tahu was enraged. “They dare attack my people!? They will pay!” He sped off with his mask power to Ta-Koro before anyone else spoke. Gali was next to do the same for Ga-Koro. The others did it for their villages.
