A revamp of an older MOC - Point Zero - using a colour scheme I've been wanting to try for some time now.

Tahu - Toa of Fire Built for a Toa Mata collab, I decided to base my version of Tahu on a Maori warrior. The weapon this Tahu is using is based on a Taiaha, a real Maori weapon. To create the feathers for this weapon, I used a Minifigure cape from the Adventurers line and the red decorative piece of cloth used by Monkey King in CMF Series 19. I also used the infected version of Hau to recreate the facial paintings used by Maori warriors. For the lava wave, I used orange pneumatic tubes from the Mars Mission line, to place them in place I inserted a series of interconnected CCBS limbs inside of them. 12/01/22

A reimagining of the shadow Matoran Kirop in a Galidor style. Demake perhaps?

Stormer X.L. Built for the Hero Factory Special Ops Collab, I decided to reinterpret Stomer XL, turning its XL model into an XL gadget. This Stormer is an expert in infiltration, its XL backpack is a submarine truster, useful for infiltrating marine structures. The helmet attached to the backpack is fully articulated, you can open or remove it from Stormer. Yes, basically it's based on Solid Snake from MGS1, I even built a Famas just for him. 19/02/22

Trinuma Built for an Order of Mata Nui Collab, Trinuma has one of my favorite masks, the Great Mask of Charisma, that always looks like an elk or deer head to my eyes. For this reason, I chose to create a more accurate deer/moose head for my character. Initially I created a simple humanoid following the actual combiner set, but after a while I thought it would look even better if Trinuma was a real deer/moose. To add a more "elegant" and regal appearance to Trinuma, I decided to base my version on a Peryton, a mystical centaur-like creature with bird wings and the body of a deer. For the shield I used the lid of a Kraata canister. 10/08/22

Primal I'm not really a builder focused on revamping, but when someone asks me to rebuild an existing character/set I can gladly agree to build something like that. This is my take on Primal, I built this dark hunter in the summer of 2021 for a small collab. This collab was cancelled within a couple of weeks of the group's formation... but by the time the news came I had already finished my moc, so Primal survived the cancellation. The build itself is very simple and I used almost only bionicle/hero factory parts, there are some tiles/dishes all over the body but the use of system pieces is very low in this moc. 05/08/21

My take on the Agori of the Rock Tribe, Atakus.

In the BZPRPG, Bohrok never attacked Mata-nui. However, the Rahkshi are loose, and there are much more than 6 of them. As a result, Nuparu's genius was put to work creating these AU Boxor-adjacents, the Exo-Matoran. Generally portrayed as looking like the Boxor's alternate build, I based this MOC's silhouette on that, while sticking to the Rahkshi motif where I could. Please let me know what you think! There's Nuparu in the cockpit, and here's what it looks like empty: I also got approval for an Exo-Matoran belonging to my Onu-Matoran, Aar. I MOC'd it up too:

Image links to Flickr Back Brickshelf when public I don't have a ton to say here, I'll just quote myself from Flickr: Despite owning the 2010 Rahkshi, I completely forgot he was keetorange and not yellow. The canister lid is yellow, so not totally my fault. Anyway, I like the head, the body was a fair compromise given the restricted gray/yellow palette, and I very much gave up on the limbs. Sorry.

A reimagining of Lewa and Kongu, built for New Elementary. You can check out the post and more images here: https://www.newelementary.com/2020/11/66960-lego-ninjago-energy-burst-hinge.html Inthert came up with the idea that inspired Kongu's mask.

A few friends and I teamed up for a revamp of the Phantoka wave from 2008 (Mistika may or may not be coming soon). Any of you familiar with me won't be surprised by which character I took a swing at. For my interpretation of Pohatu, I took things down a "bioformer" route, taking his twin-rotor helicopter inspiration more literally than the set did. Interesting how only recently an official Lego Osprey was cancelled which had the exact same colour scheme! Make sure to check out the other mocs in this collab, to which I have placed links in the description - and massive shoutout to Buttloaf for doing a fantastic job on the photo editing.

Here are six revamps/tributes for the Piraka Hakann, Avak and Vezok, and the Toa Inika Kongu, Nuparu and Matoro! Had lots of fun, and heaps of nostalgia, reading through those ancient Bionicle texts then figuring out how I could make the most faithful revamp/tribute for each character. Which one of these is your favourite? Check out my Flickr for quotes, flavour text and design write-ups, and my Instagram and Twitter for more photos!

My favourite Glatorian reimagined more prominently as a gladiator, with some asymmetry throughout. Wanted to keep the clever horns used on the shoulder armour on one side, which necessitated that the arms be different. Started this in late November of last year and only managed to finish it around last July, off the back of my unceremonious BioCup R1 crash-out. Tarix Revamp by Mohamed Marei, on Flickr More MOCs coming soon(ish)?)!
