Hapori Tohu
Recently the latest batch of sets based on The Hobbit have appeared on LEGO Shop@Home. What's more, with any LEGO Hobbit purchase, you can get a free poster! You can see all the sets right here and check out the wonderful new minifigs and the mediocre (in my opinion) sets. That won't stop me from buying them though, and if you've been waiting for these you should head over and get them too! xccj
Well, the Smaug set actually looks fairly decent for what it is... but could still be $50 less. The minifigures are all around great, of course, and I might have to pick up a few. 1 Quote My BZPower Stories Dark Core--Kulagi's Kanoka--A Shadow's Contrivance--Mystery on Keli-Nui--BZ-Koro: To Bring Back Bionicle
Vorahk1Panrahk2
I rather like the Attack on Lake-Town set. The building itself seems to lack some of the texture of the buildings from Lake-Town Chase, but I still think they will go well together. And it has some nice minifigures and play features as well. Witch-King Battle will be purchased purely for the minifigures. I'm so glad we got Galadriel. The big disappointment here is The Battle of the Five Armies. It's not so much the size of the set, or the fact that it seems to be missing a member of the five armies (the fifth was Wargs, right?), but the building that comes with it. Even though we only got brief glimpses of it, Dale was one of my favorite sets from the first film, and that set doesn't look like it captures the architecture very well at all with the exception of the colors. The texturing is kind of bland as well. I know it's supposed to look run down and abandoned... but it also doesn't really look like that, either. The ballista is pretty cool, though, and it looks like the ammo and shooter are brick built instead of using specialized parts so that's a big plus. I plan on buying at least one of these sets from Target this week. Preferably Witch King but if Target doesn't get it in stock, then Lake-Town Attack. As much as I want Smaug and the minifigures, I'll have to pass on the others. Quote BZPRPG Profiles
believe victims
the fact that it seems to be missing a member of the five armies (the fifth was Wargs, right?) Actually, the five armies were:Dwarves Men Elves Goblins Eaglesso there is at least one representative of each army in the set.
Toa Smoke Monster
These aren't the best sets I've ever seen. (That Smaug set still disappoints me. ) But as others have said, the minifigs are the heart of them. But I'm not going to buy them. I'm saving up my money for certain sets coming out next year. Adventurer
Getting the Witch King set now with some other small thing I've been meaning to get - will save the larger ones I want (probably Smaug...) till I have more money. Nidhiki of the Shadows
Wow! Those sets are... kind of disappointing? I expected a bigger scale but these have a lot of pieces so the pictures just might be bad. Still really cool! -NotS
Nittany Nuva
I found these at my local Target today, minus Smaug (is that set LEGO store exclusive?) I picked up the Witch King without hesitation, but will pass on the others unless I find a good deal. Now I have my glorious Galadriel minifigure. Quote 7. Putting all five Piraka in one tank seems like a dangerous idea. What if they start killing each other? 7) Who cares? believe victims
I found these at my local Target today, minus Smaug (is that set LEGO store exclusive?) Target seems to have an upper limit to how expensive the sets they'll stock on shelves are (and are otherwise picky about it; none of the bagged summer wave IfB sets have been on my Target's shelf at all). I'd say ordering online is a much better bet if you want Smaug the Expensive.
