IC: Negafire heard Saosin's shouted suggestion, but was slightly preoccupied with the arms and legs aimed at him. He leapt up, wrapping his own arms and legs around Gadgeteers armor, clinging to his back. Unless that suit was going to break Gadgeteers limbs, they shouldn't be able to kick or hit him anywhere important now. As for the helmet... Negafire let go with his right arm, and generated a small plasma laser from one fingertip. If he calculated it right, it should be small enough to cut through the armor, but not hurt Gadgeteer. He aimed his finger at the neck of the armor, trying to cut the helmet off...

IC: Strike, New York CityA black figure sat hunched, it's spiked and unatural frame on the very edge of a building. A casual observer would have thought that perhaps it was a gargoyle, or whatever wouldn't stretch the boundries of "normal". Then it leaped. It's humanoid body moving in un-human ways, it clinged to the next building's wall, and began to scale it, resembling a four-legged spider. It was chilling sight, to say the least. But with all the fear it inspired, there was a small feel-good part to it. A Hero was back, and this hero's territory covered the entire, gigantic, super-populated city.

IC - Gadgeteer @ Jodrell BankThe armour was not heat-insulated, so Viktor growled in pain as what felt like a red-hot knife drew a circle around his neck. Negafire's plasma laser was inches from touching him but that was the thing about plasma; it was just so darn hot. Even with his mastery of the substance Negafire couldn't completely contain the heat. Then there was the odd spark every time a wire got severed. The armour continued to flail, trying to hit Negafire but the motions were futile. In just over a minute Negafire had melted all the way around the neck of the armour, rivulets of bronze covering Gadgeteer's chest. The villain yanked at the helmet, there was slight resistance and then a sharp snap as the last of the connecting cables broke.Gadgeteer's CPU was contained in his helmet, so when that was removed the armour was freed from the malicious code's control. The code still existed within the CPU of course, but unless it could somehow turn thermal imaging into a weapon then it posed no further threat. Viktor, meanwhile, dropped to his knees with a clang. The weight of the armour was supported by hydraulics and servomotors; with those deactivated it was far too heavy for him to move it. There was a series of metallic clicks and then the armour fell to bits - neat bits, mind you, it was simply coming apart in an intended way. It was a non-electrical failsafe Viktor had incorporated into each of his armours for years, ever since one terrible mission long ago when he'd spent three days in an Afghan desert, trapped in de-powered armour. The Russian's face was covered in sweat. He was gasping in relief, partly due to being freed from the oven-like interior of the suit, partly due to being freed from the malicious code's attack on his mind. It looked as if he would need a minute or two to recover...

:kaukau: IC: (Ike, Jodrell Bank, MERLIN suite)Ike let go of Captain Code. He supposed now that this all could have been avoided if he had just knocked the villain out the instant he saw him. In the end, he had let Saosin do it, but all too late, and it seemed that there were no concequences after all. At least, none that made themselves readily visible."Gadgeteer, did you notice anything that can tell us about his abilities? You know your suit."Your Honor,Tyrannosaurus Kraggh

OOC: Whoops Korkoa, I edited to explain that Viktor was out of his suit just as you posted. I'll pretend Negafire just said sorry.IC - Gadgeteer @ Jodrell Bank"Nyet," muttered Viktor, rubbing his forehead. His neck was stinging, but he knew rubbing that would only make it worse. "I mean, no. He overrode the systems of my armour with some sort of virus... very advanced." He let out a small groan and tried to collect his thoughts. Sweat dripped from the tip of his beard. "Ike. If you really are as skilled with technology as you say, then help Lone to cancel the satellite's firing operation. The rest of you... we must escort him," he gestured to Captain Code, "out of here safely. And the employees of this facility. It may not be possible to stop the satellite in time." Viktor felt that this was the most effective course of action under the circumstances, although it could easily be undermined if Ike or Lone got cold feet. They would be undergoing a big risk by staying here - Lone moreso than Ike, given that he had armour that could get invaded by the code running the central system and that he wasn't indestructible. Viktor hadn't known Lone long enough to be able to properly judge what kind of man he was. He was a hero, but how much was he willing to put on the line..?

:kaukau: IC: (Ike, Jodrell Bank, MERLIN suite)"Ywis," nodded Ike, turning to his back and rushing into the complexities of the rerouted system. He ran into Lone, knocking him over, and picked the cyborg up. "Pardon me. Gadgeteer thinks that I have a sonic screwdriver." Unfortunately, even though he was good with technology, this was something perhaps better equipped for Ian, master of mechanics, mixed with some of the hacking ecentricities of Idea. However, seeing as neither of them were around right then, the superphysicist was left in charge of the situation."Now, I can't just plug into the system, but I can at least gain access to the mathematical codes of this system, right?" pondered Ike, looking like he was talking to Lone when he really wasn't. :kaukau: IC: (Ike, Jodrell Bank, MERLIN suite)See, Ian would have picked up that right away, too, being a culture addict as well, or so he supposed. It was mostly literature and entertainment, but he was still more adiquate in mythology than the average buster, nerdy to the end. "Perun," types Ike.A display came up on the monitor, showing an orbit around the planet, the speed of the satellite, its design, its current location. "I have determined it!" called out Ike. "Actually, presuming that I don't initiate an interdimensional pursuit again, I could use some of this technology to teleport up there and disable it in space. Even if I did cause interdimensional disturbance, whatever follows me throught the teleport will be distance from any civilization and in the vacuum of space!"Your Honor,Tyrannosaurus Kraggh

IC - Gadgeteer @ Jodrell BankViktor and the others were almost out of the room. He didn't have the strength to carry all the components of his armour, so he had grabbed the most important two - the helmet and chest. Quickly he weighed up the options in his mind. The last thing they needed was more interdimensional interference - and it was because of the incident with the Jeznewooby that he didn't trust Ike to manage a proper teleport. On the other hand, the only risks in such a situation would be to the satellite and Ike himself. Viktor sighed. His brain was throbbing. His burns stung and the sweat was irritating him as it trickled all down his body."If you feel that you can do so without risking the life of anyone else," Viktor called back to Ike, "then do it. But know that I will personally hold you responsible for anything that goes wrong." He resumed his hasty exit of the building...

Is this thing trash now, did I really trash this thing?""No!" Said Viktor, surprised. "It is designed to come apart that way. Be careful with those components." The Whistler caught up with them just as they moved through the exit and back into the open air. There were few employees walking about now; after the Jeznewooby's intrusion they had all sensibly taken cover indoors. Viktor looked around. They needed to evacuate the facility as fast as possible, but there were lots of buildings, and people didn't immediately cooperate when shouted at by costumed strangers. But there was something that would make them evacuate, without resistance.Viktor looked at Negafire. "Set something on fire! Try not to hit anyone though..."

IC - Gadgeteer @ Jodrell BankIt didn't take long for the fire alarms to go off. And at that signal the employees evacuated, just as they'd been trained to do by the many health-and safety seminars they'd been forced to attend. All that remained now was for the heroes themselves to leave, and hope that Ike's efforts were not wasted.A large part of Viktor's mind doubted that they would be able to escape Perun's blast radius, if it did manage to fire. But he ran anyway...

IC: Lone's efforts had not been in vain. He'd managed to lock the command sequence into a loop by eliminating a line of coding that determined which confirmation stood for what. When the machine received confirmation on the co-ordinates it was supposed to strike it thought it was receiving conformation to fire and started from the beginning all over again. It had forestalled the event, but Captain Code's virus was struggling to try an correct the error. The sooner Ike smashed the thing the better.Up in orbit, Ike appeared in front of the Perun. It was crude work, perhaps done by some supervillain genius in their early days, cobbled together from bits of scrap. An array of solar panels fringed the bottom of the machine like a beard while antennae sprouted from its top like branches. Poking from the front was a trio of something like supersized Van de Graaff generators crackling with energy. The targeting system nestled in the antennae like a bird in branches was blinking away as it tried to determine where it was supposed to unleash this build-up

:kaukau: IC: (Ike, in orbit)The next thing he knew, he was flying through space. It was a crude form of teleportation, but he didn't feel so bad when he saw the machine, which was a crude work of art indeed. He had made satellites millions of times better in is day. Of course, back then he had a large coorporation he had a deal with, so he had a budget and the cooperation of others. Plus he had time. In any case, when you combined all these things with superhuman genius, the results came out well. When you had none of these things, well, the hunk of junk he saw before him was a clear testament to that.Ike landed on the satellite. It looked like the Van de Graaff generators would be easy to fix. He had no idea what they were, of course, since they could conceal any number of forms of technology, but until then, all he needed was access to its internal wiring. He smashed open part of the outer sell of the satellite, tearing away the covering to get a better look at what he was dealing with. Soon he began to gather what the Van de Graaff devices really were, and he chuckled to himself silently (duh, it was in space). Of course, he thought to himself.Well, as much funas it would be to examine the device and teorize on its origins, it was best to just dismantle it and get things over with. He preferred a clean rout, just in case the satellite would come in use later on. he dug his way into a fox hole inside the satellite, crunching a lot of its enterior as he did so, but they were all non-vital parts to its engineering. He observed the inside for a little while longer before crawling out and drifting up to meet the antennae where the targeting system was. He did not presume that simply destroying the antennae would stop the machine, but on the other hand, if he took his communicator, he could come up with an interdimensional counter-frequency that would permanently confuse the device by sending it coordinates to the exact same spot in three dimensional space but in aother dimension. He pressed a few buttons and held the communicator up next to the antennae. There was a jolting and a flickering of blue lights. The satellite slowly began to die down, but then it sparked back up again. Well, it looked like that trick hadn't worked. Then, suddenly, a space ship came throgh a warmhole nearby, a product of the interdimensional interferance he had created upon coming up here, and smashed into the Perun, knocking it off to the side. They both exploded in space, sending Ike flying of unconrollably in one direction, gripping uselessly onto one of the generators. Fortunately, it was in the direction of the warmhole he had created. His only concern was that by flying through it he would create more interferance and attract another invader to Earth, this time down on Jodrell Bank. Again.Your Honor,Tyrannosaurus Kraggh

He boarded the jet and pulled out some rope from one of the cabinets, tying up Captain Code and tossing him into one of the seats. He made his way towards the control panel and stopped just short of the pilot's seat."What about Lone?"He wasn't worried about Ike unduly: he had indestructibility, after all, so no matter what, he wouldn't be harmed by Perun's blast. Besides, he had found his own way here. He could find his way out. But something about abandoning the other hero just didn't sit well with him...-Teezy

IC - Viktor Borislav @ The sky over ManchesterAs the jet rose up Viktor sat forwards, chin resting in his hands. It had only been a few minutes since Captain Code had initiated Perun's firing sequence. Depending on the technology involved, such a sequence could take up to an hour... although the villain had intended for it to vaporise the group, so it can't have been that lengthy a sequence. How long could they wait until they could safely assume that the satellite had been taken out of operation? It was only just now Viktor realised that Lone and Ike had not been given any reliable way of contacting the group - well, Lone did, but it was only to the helmet of his Gadgeteer armour and he couldn't put that back on until he had removed the malicious code from it...
