Just filled out four different job application forms, three of which I just got today. I intend to hand them all in tomorrow and hopefully get a job. Thus far, I have applied for work at three different places, but none of them have gotten back to me yet, so I'm doubtful about them. No idea if these other places will accept me, but it doesn't hurt to try. -TNTOS-
Ugh. I woke up with a sore throat this morning, so I slept in a little later than usual. That was nice, but sore throats still aren't fun. I'm not sure if I'll do any writing for NaNo today. By my calculations, I can miss at least ten days this month and still reach the 50,000 word goal. So if I miss today, it's no biggie. Edit: Guess I'm not as sick as I thought, 'cause I just did a full hour of writing. Updated my NaNo word count, so I guess I won't be behind after all. Yay and stuff. -T
As of fifteen minutes ago, I cast my first ever vote in the U.S elections. It felt empowering to know that I am contributing to our society in some way, even if the guy I voted for President doesn't win. So I can now say I have voted. I'll probably vote again come 2016, 'cause it really did feel empowering. Edit: For those interested, I voted Obama/Biden. -TNTOS-
Today is the first day of NaNoWriMo, which, for those of you who might not know, goes through the entire month of November, ending at midnight on the 30th. I put up my NaNo content block in the upper right corner of my blog. As you can probably tell, it tells the name of my story, the current word count, and my feelings about the story. I will probably update it once a day, seeing as I write every day, so if I miss a day it is probably due to sickness or travel. This is gonna be awesome. -
As of this morning, I finished the third draft of my upcoming epic, Dawn of the New Century. I think it's really good, but I am going to go ahead and write a fourth draft because, while third draft is good, I came up with some ideas that I didn't put into the third draft and I really don't feel like tossing them after the fact. So a fourth draft it is. When will I write this fourth draft, you ask? Why, starting next month, for NaNoWriMo, of course! Normally, I reserve NaNoWriMo for original
So. There's going to be a Star Wars Episode VII and it's going to be made by Disney. From what I've seen of the reactions so far, some people are excited for it, some people aren't, and some people are reserving judgment until we know more. I'm in the latter camp 'cause we really don't know anything about it at this point (I'm pretty sure we don't, anyway). Probably will see it when it comes out, even if it's bad. Star Wars is Star Wars even when it's bad (except for the Holiday Special. We
These are some of the awesomest Internet videos I have ever seen. Ever. And I have seen a lot of awesome Internet videos. Favorite quote: "I'm crazy, and I'm right" - Rick Santorum. -TNTOS-
I just now noticed that I've got my six year spinny (got it three days ago, but I've been so busy I didn't notice). It doesn't feel like it's been six years, though, but the spinny never lies (nor do calendars, for that matter). The only problem: I liked my Olmak spinny better than my new Faxon spinny. Oh, well. Just gonna have to get used to it. Also, the Comedy Forum Expo: Fall 2012 is LIVE! Keep an eye on that topic on the 20th, where I'll be previewing the final comedy in the Legend Tril
I am going to be gone from Friday evening (today) to late Sunday afternoon. I will probably not have any access to BZP during that time, so don't be surprised if I don't answer any PMs you send my way immediately or if I'm not active on Saturday or for most of Sunday. -TNTOS-
Hey, everybody. Today I am posting the What Could Have Been of my most recent epic, The Ghost King's Tragedy. Here I will discuss old or rejected ideas that didn't make it into the final draft of TGKT. I will also discuss trivia and clear up a few things that weren't clear in the story itself. With that out of the way, onto the WCHB: (WARNING: THIS BLOG POST CONTAINS MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR TGKT. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU FIRST READ THE EPIC ITSELF BEFORE READING THIS, UNLESS YOU REALLY DON'T MIND
Okay, yes, I watch Glee (or have been watching it since the third season, anyway, but I've seen most of the first season, too). It's just so hilariously bizarre at times, borderlining so bad it's good, that I kind of have to watch it. So, naturally, the always-active gray matter in my skull (which some people call a brain) came up with this brilliant idea for a Glee fanfic, an idea I came up with after watching the end of the third episode of the fourth season. At the end of the third episod
Today I posted the tenth and final chapter of The Ghost King's Tragedy. So that means this whole mess is finally over ( ). Due to the spoilerific nature of the last chapter, I will not be quoting an excerpt from it. You may read the entirety of Chapter Ten here. Next week on this blog I will post a What Could Have Been entry. Like with past WCHB entries, I will discuss old or scrapped ideas that didn't make it to the final draft. I will also explain a few things that were not explained in t
So I've recently started watching Lost, since the entire series is on Netflix and what not. Thus far I've only seen the first four episodes, but I'm enjoying it quite a bit so far. My favorite character so far is probably John Locke, but that could change as the series progresses. -TNTOS-
Can anyone recommend to me good history books about early seventeenth century Spain? I'm looking for general history books, but I will take books about early seventeenth century Spain's political and religious climate, too. Don't care if they're old or new books, as long as they are accurate and aren't too difficult to find. Thanks. -TNTOS-
Another Wednesday, another chapter of The Ghost King's Tragedy. Here's an excerpt from the latest chapter: Read the rest of Chapter Nine here. Next week is the final chapter, so see y'all then! -TNTOS-
I finally passed my driving test today. That means I can now drive without an adult who is 21 years or older in the passenger's seat. I was nervous, but the instructor said I did well and pointed out only a few, very minor, easily fixable problems that I did during the test. It really wasn't as bad as the first time. Maybe it's because I have glasses now, which definitely helped me see things better. Also, I got a new belt, which is something I've been meaning to get a while. So yay and stuf
It's actually cold this morning. Not just cool or pleasant, but real, honest-to-god cold. This may not seem like that big a deal, but understand that the weather this summer has been almost unbearably hot where I live. I haven't been keeping track of exact numbers, but I wouldn't be surprised if most of the days were upper 90s or lower 100s because that's what it felt like. Today, though (or at least this morning), it's really cold. And it feels fantastic. That means fall really is going t
It's Wednesday once again, so that means it's time for another chapter of The Ghost King's Tragedy. Here's a short excerpt from this week's chapter: Read the rest of Chapter Six here. -TNTOS-
As of this morning I finished the first draft of that Toa Chimoy short story I mentioned in the last entry. I am fairly pleased with how it turned out, but I am going to put it aside for a month or two before I start editing it. So, with that out of the way, tomorrow I will officially begin work on the third draft of my upcoming epic, Dawn of the New Century. The reason this matters is because the third draft is usually the last draft I write. It will be the draft that I will edit and tweak un
