Fanfic News

I am pleased to announce today that I finished editing the sixth draft of my upcoming epic, Dawn of the New Century.   Why is this so important to know, dear readers?   Well, it's important because this is also the end of the editing process. Which means that tomorrow, Monday, April 22, 2013, I will post the first chapter of Dawn, followed by the second chapter on Friday.   You may have noticed that I am going to post two chapters this week, instead of the usual one. That's because Dawn is 29 ch

Chickenpox

Looks like I got chickenpox, unfortunately. So if appear less active here, you can blame it on the chickenpox.   But fear not, I will continue to post TLI chapters every Saturday and Monday, as usual, as that is not a very taxing thing to do.   -TNTOS-

Good bye, 300-Word Rule

May it rest in piece.   Now I can finally post the REAL version of The Legend Imploded, which is exactly 299 words long. No one can stop me now! Mwahahaha!   -TNTOS-

Some Updates

Sorry I haven't been blogging here recently. It's just that I've started up a new blog elsewhere on the interwebs and it's a higher priority for me right now than this one. That's why I haven't been very active here recently.   But now I have decided to share some news about my upcoming epic, Dawn of the New Century. Figured it gave me an excuse to blog here again.   So Dawn is on its sixth draft and is coming along nicely. Right now I am thinking of going over it one last time before I post it

Synonyms are like Salt

Synonyms are those neat little words that can help writers add color to an otherwise monotone passage in any work, whether fiction or nonfiction. In fact, many writers (such as me) use synonym finders to help them find that specific word they're looking for but can't quite remember. I believe anyone who writes regularly ought to have a good synonym finder on hand to help them find just the right word.   Yet it is possible to go overboard with synonyms to the point where your writing can go from

YES!

So I just got a new laptop last night. It has, like, 400 GB of memory and all kinds of shiny new apps and features I haven't even tried out yet.   But you know what the absolute best part of it is?   We downloaded OpenOffice onto it. And thanks to OpenOffice, I have access to my Microsoft Word story files again, meaning I can get back to work on Dawn of the New Century, among my other projects. And I am so happy about that right now that I can barely even begin to describe it.   Also, Skype work

Oz the Great and Powerful

Saw it yesterday. It was a fun film and, having already read the original Wizard of Oz book, I caught some of the references to future events, although I'm sure there were a lot of references I missed, as I have not read all of the Oz books.   I'd say James Franco was pretty awesome as Oz. I read they tried to get Robet Downey, Jr. first, which is a bit sad that they couldn't get him, but hey, James Franco is cool and he played Oz pretty well, in my opinion.   However, this movie isn't the kind

Computer Troubles

My computer is messing up (again). The worst part is that I can't even access Skype on it, so if anybody in the Ambage chat notices I'm gone, this is why. No idea when I'll be back on Skype, unfortunately, but I still have access to BZP, at least.   (BTW I am writing this blog post on my Wii U's Gamepad, if y'all were wondering how I am posting this.)   -TNTOS-   EDIT: Never mind. Skype and Internet work on computer again. False alarm. Sorry.

Wii-U

Yesterday we got a Wii-U -- specifically, the more expensive version -- along with New Super Mario Bros. U. I haven't really played with it or used most of it features, but I'm not particular interested in it. Maybe if we had more games for it I would be, but right now the PS3 just seems better.   NSMBU is pretty much the same as the other NSMB games, except the world map takes a cue from the old Super Mario World game for the SNES, as well as a couple other minor changes. So if you liked the la

Some Updates

Glad that the forums are back online. I was beginning to miss them.   Anyway, to all my readers, The Legend Imploded is on indefinite hiatus. This is because Microsoft Word refuses to work on my computer and I wrote TLI on Word, so I can't access any of the chapters that I haven't posted yet or even the ones I have posted. I have no idea what's wrong with it, so until I fix it don't expect any more chapters of TLI for the foreseeable future, unfortunately.   However, I may post a flash fiction s

That was close

Due to some freaky weather last night, both our electricity AND phone lines were shot. That meant we couldn't connect to the Internet, which was a bit inconvenient for all of us because of how often we use the Internet.   Thankfully, the electric company restored our electricity fairly quickly and the phone company repaired our phone lines about ten minutes ago, so everything is back to normal again. So yay and stuff.   -TNTOS-

Story News

Hey guys. As of this morning I finished the first draft of a novel I've been working on for a while now. I'm really excited about this one because I think it has potential to be my first original novel that I actually finish, but we'll just have to see where that goes.   I'm going to lay that aside for now, though, in order to work on Dawn of the New Century's sixth draft. I intend to go over it one more time after this before posting it on BZP, but I am confident I will have it ready for postin

Success!

As of five minutes ago, I successfully installed a new memory chip into our laptop, giving it an extra gigabite of memory.   That may not sound like much -- and it isn't -- but one gigabite is a ton more memory than we had previously. Before, we had less than ten megabites available . . . and sometimes not even that much. The memory was so low I couldn't even open a simple Word document without causing the computer to act up.   In addition, Skype managed to update itself, so I am officially back

Stupid Skype

Skype has been messing up for me again.   It gives me a "Disk I/O error." To my understanding, it is trying to update my Skype, but every time I click "Update now," it doesn't work, so it can't update it, so I can't use Skype.   Right now, I'm thinking the problem has to do with our laptop's lack of memory, although that's just a guess. So I'm just going to have to wait until the memory chip I bought online gets here, which should be by the end of the month.   So if you happen to be in my contac

Furno XL

I was originally going to make a lengthy blog post about my debating philosophy, but I decided that would be too boring.   So instead, I'll talk about my new toy, Furno XL, one of the new Hero Factory Brain Attack sets that came out this year. I got him last night when I saw him at Wal-Mart; lucky thing, too, because he was one of the last two Furno XLs they had, if I remember correctly.   I've been wanting to buy Furno XL for a while, and he doesn't disappoint. Love the knight look. He's not su

No More Memory

Today our Acer laptop completely ran out of memory.   It's not surprising, really. It's been telling us for months now that it's memory is almost full and during that time we've deleted as many old or unnecessary files as we could in an attempt to make more room on the hard drive.   Yet today the inevitable has finally happened. Considering that deleting useless memory hasn't helped in the slightest, it appears we're either going to have to buy new memory for it or just buy a new computer entire

Kingdom Hearts (Again)

Unlocked BBS's secret ending yesterday, so I've pretty much beaten the game in its entirety, aside from a few minor things I haven't done yet.   So I started playing Re:coded today. I'm currently in Wonderland. It's certainly not a bad game so far and is in fact fun at times, but after BBS it feels . . . lacking, if that's the word. Maybe my opinion of it will change as I play it more.   -TNTOS-

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Happy MLK Day, everybody. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a great man. Without his work, I think America would be a lot worse today than it currently is.   -TNTOS-

What did I get in the mail?

Yesterday a package for me from Amazon came in the mail, so here's a quick look at what I got (in no particular order):   -Kingdom Hearts Re:coded. I haven't actually played it yet, but I will as soon as I unlock the secret ending in Kingdom Hearts Birthy By Sleep. One video game at a time, I always say   -Life in Year One, by Scott Korb. First century Palestine has been a big interest of mine for several years now and so far this book has been very interesting and informative, especially in com

Dawn of the New Century

Finished editing the fifth draft of my upcoming epic, Dawn of the New Century. I'm now going to put it aside for a while to work on my original fiction, but plan to go over it at least two more times before posting it on BZP.   -TNTOS-

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep

Last night I beat Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. Not entirely, mind you. I still have to unlock the secret ending, which means I'm going to have to complete all of the characters' reports and probably do other things I don't know about yet.   Anyway, BBS was an awesome game. It's every bit as good as other KH games, maybe a little better even. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good game for the PSP.   I also ordered Kingdom Hearts Re:coded last night because I want to play anothe

An Unexpected Job

Well this morning Family Dollar called me and asked if I still wanted a job I'd applied for last month. So I told them I did and they told me to come to the store for a job interview as soon as I could, which I did.   The job interview went quickly and easily and I got the job. This surprises me because 1) I had forgotten about my Family Dollar job application until today and 2) I didn't know the job interview would be that easy.   So I'm going to begin work tomorrow. It really did come out of n

Revamped Library

Just finished revamping my library.   What are the new things I added/changed? Here's a list for those interested:   -New introduction   -"Two Tales" and "What I Should have Said" added   -Entire Glatorian Chronicles series edited into numerical order   -"Genre" feature added, which tells you what kind of story a particular fanfic is   -Edited summaries for several fanfics   -New stories in the "COMING SOON" section   -Better formatting   I'm glad I got that out of the way.
