So Long And Thanks For All The Fish

Hey dears! You may have noticed that I am -never- on BZP and I really don't pay attention to my messages or the forums. A lot of that is just me being a busy highschooler, but it's also cuz BZP just doesn't really hold my interest anymore. I love you guys but it's time for me to move on. My BZP premiership is going to run out soon, and I've decided that it's pointless to renew it, seeing as I rarely blog or do anything else that requires premiership.   I keep telling myself I'll eventually

Rattlesnakes And Other Adventures

Hola, people! HEY LOOK ANOTHER MONTH WENT BY. And of course, Raia here was lame and has been long absent from this site. Bah.   Anyhoo, my friends, I am in Santa Fe as I am typing this! My fam is on vacation here. Or really, it should be called "Annual Activity in Which We Force Ourselves to Have Fun (and try not to strangle each other)."xD Family vacations are always crazy, amirite?   Family drama and health issues aside (i.e. altitude sickness and car sickness and general lameness I al

The Best Drink Ever

Those new mocha frappes at McDonald's are to DIE for. Seriously. They are the nectar of the gods.     (what, were you expecting something else?)         Mkay, anyway, the real reason I am posting is because I'm bored of this blog theme and want a new one, but I can't decide what to do next...the random title "Karaoke Night in Kansas City" popped up in my brain, and I love that idea, but I didn't think it was the "right" one because someone who has never done karaoke simply should not have a

Finally!

School is oooooouuuuuut.   And suddenly, we go from 50 degree weather to high 80's within a week. What the heck?xD Ah well, that just means it's finally time to break out the shorts and sunscreen.   (fffffff I can't believe I'm freeee)   And I'm officially a senior in high school, and also co-captain of drumline. Sweet. B)   -Raia-

High School Concerts: Now In Surround Sound!

So last night was the final concert of the year for band and it was both epic and fail on several counts. But the coolest thing that happened was definitely the first song the other band did.* It was based off a battle in the Korean War and it was WIN. They had all these nifty percussion parts where they made it sound like the ocean, and then there were parts where some of their percussionists went to the back of the auditorium and whacked these old drum heads so it sounded exactly as if ther

So This Is The Future...?

You know what's really creepy?   Having a conversation with a computer over the telephone.   ...somebody invent the dang time machine already so I can go hide in a different era. Preferably one where AP classes haven't been invented, REAL PEOPLE talk to you on the phone, and horses are the main mode of transportation.o_o;   Not that I don't love things like laptops, Instant Messaging and mp3 players, but...it all just makes me wonder, you know?   (this explains why I enjoy writing about medi

Academia And Political Correctness

Firstly, I got my cursor back! But only because I'm no longer in Rich Text Editing. I guess that is my new buddy...   Secondly, I’m really happy because I’ve been fixing up some academic issues and things are looking relatively good. Unfortunately, due to some circumstances beyond my control, I’m now rather behind on our in-class research project in English. Alas. Hopefully the teacher’ll be flexible about some deadlines, especially cuz this whole thing is sorta her fault.>>   Third

And They Dance, Too

I've said this before, but this time I really mean it...I had like the craziest weekend eveeeerr. Unfortunately I'm bored of regaling the details, so I'll just say that it was two days of standardized testing, whacky percussionist mishaps, and illnesses.   Also we just replaced all the appliances in our kitchen...honestly I miss the old ones, they were so much more easy to use. But that's just my lazy side kicking in. On the plus side, they have really pretty LCD displays and the diswasher p

State Of Affairs

Oh, whoops, I died.>_>   Greetings, ladies and germs. I've been off in that land known as Real Life and I haven't come to BZP for a while...I kinda feel like I've grown out of this place.:[ But, I still love you guys, so here I am to give you a peek at my current state of affairs.   -Our microwave decided to die, and the replacement won't be in for a week if we're lucky. Soo I'm learning how to make do without for the mo. It's very weird.xD -Trying to cobble together a piece for a w

To Draw A Giant Robot...

...one must first be able to draw big, blocky things.   Raia cannot draw blocky things.D: Tears!   But yeah, I want to draw a realistically shaded, black-and-white pencil drawing of the Mata Nui robot. Desperately. But, I don't know what pose to draw it in. I don't want to do something too bland, and I'd also rather avoid copying a pose from one of the posters, though I'll probably end up doing that, in the end...mayhaps the HEROPOSE! one. If anyone has suggestions, though, I'd be happy t

Why I Don't Post

Because half of the forums are people arguing over stuff like "They're BIONICLE sets, not Bionicles, fools!!!"   Silly BZPers.   On a related note, I just don't like arguing in general, unless it's just a goofy argument which is more about being ridiculous then a genuine exchange of anger at each others' opinions or whatever. Just to clarify. So I hardly ever state my hardcore opinion on an issue because I don't want to start a debate, and EVERYONE seems obligated to debate other people'

Onua Mata And The Library

LK and Veef have heard most of this story already and that's about half of the people who read this blog buuut...Karzahni, why not.   So I was at the public library this Saturday to help with this kid's program that they have on certain days, and this little preschool-aged boy comes up to me, shoves aside the little sign that said "Sign up" for the program, plunked a Toa Mata canister on the table, and smiled at me expectantly. My reaction was basically "OMIGOSH A REAL-LIVE TOA MATA," except w

It's That Time In Our Lives

Oh life, you can be annoying and horrible sometimes, but then you always come out of the blue with another window to opportunity.<3   ...so, we started enrollment for the next school year today. Even earlier than normal, because our 10-12 high school will convert to a 9-12 next year, and we have a TON of incoming students to deal with in addition to the returning ones. As a junior, I have to make a loooot of important decisions about classes, tests, and colleges. Soooo many decisions, it

Absence! 0:

For those very few of you who actually read all the random nonsense otherwise known as life issues that are troubling for me that I post here...you may have noticed I haven't been around for a while! Or, you may have not. Well, now you know unless you didn't read this, either.   [/minirant over]   So! It's a new year now, le gasp. 2010 is going to be HUGE, I can feel it! Already, my apparent stock of good Karma has granted me two snow days that would have been my first two days back to sc

Snowed In

*waves* Yes, I'm still alive over here! I've just been chilling out and enjoying the time off. I feel really accomplished right now, and I -almost- miss school...mostly because I've only been seeing the same three people (aka my immediate family) for the past...oh, four days or so.   Why is that, you ask?   We got snowed in!0: On Christmas Eve, the skies opened up, and it snowed for about three days straight after that. The roads were awful, let me tell you, and they've just now been comp

OMIGOSH SCHOOL IS OVEEEERR   :3   Now I can finally get to the important things--like running around like a chicken with its head cut off to get everyone's Christmas presents ready in time!xD And, of course, all the things I didn't do while procrastinating for Finals, such as studying for the ACT, which I'm taking in February. Personal projects--art and writing for my novel, collabs, etc--can also get some lovin' now. Yaaaay.<3   And, apparently I scored just high enough on my math fina

I Wish...

I wish I could hibernate through next week...gaaack.   Today was the worst day I've had in a while. Just, ugh. I about had an emotional breakdown during my Pre-Calc test. And then, of course, I had to rebound really quickly so I could take a Physics test. Which was hard, but I think I did okay. And THEN I got to panic and try to finish my History project, at the very last minute, while the rest of the class was in discussion. Barely got the dadgum thing done.   My brain is frieeeed. Chri

In Regards To The New Toa Element

Eeeeeee! 8DDDDDD   Don't know what I'm talking about? Psionics has just been canonized by the Greg-man as a Toa element. Even better--it is, officially, a female element.   THIS CALLS FOR A FAN-CHARACTER. *brain whirrs into gear*   Expect an art of said fan-character at some time in the future.:3 I haven't been this excited about Bionicle-related stuff since...gee, I dunno. Since that clip of the Mata Nui robot rising out of the ocean came out, probably. That animation was epicly epic.

Sick Again.

Well, I caught another icky cold, I haven't been well-rested since October and my artistic motivation is a roller coaster of insane sky-highs and bamboozled bottom-of-the-ocean lows, but that's okay! We are all about optimism. And while my throat has a frog in it and my grade is slipping in my Pre-Calculus class, I'm a couple days ahead in NaNo now, so I can actually go to bed at a normal time tonight. Of course, I have to get an...EEG, I think it is--some kind of heart test--on Wednesday in

Calling All Nanoers!

Hey you.   YES YOU.   How many of you BZPers are still in the running for NaNoWriMo? I'm curious. Because so far the only one I know of that's still going is...   ...me.   Anyway, if there is anyone else still NaNoing their hearts out, I want to cheer for you! This is the home stretch! How Not To Finish An Essay.

1) Do all the easy homework first. 2) Spend your free time drawing. And I mean ALL your free time. 3) Stay in your pajamas, to promote laziness. 4) Stare at a drawing of your favorite OC instead of staring at your paper. 5) Procrastinate until late evening. 6) Finally go back to the essay and start spouting nonsense. 7) Give up, don't write a conclusion, throw the essay in your bag, and then read the funnies for the rest of the evening.   DON'T FOLLOW MY BAD EXAMPLE GUYZ KTHX?   I haven

Na No Wri Mo!

Yes, I am one of many BZPers participating this year! And it's off to a good start. So far I've been able to keep up with the daily goals, despite a hectic schedule/sleep-deprived-ness. Speaking of sleep-deprived-ness, apparently one of the tests I'm going to have to take to try and figure out what is causing my health issues will take three hours, and I'll have to purposely sleep-deprive myself beforehand. Urgh. Why can't there be some magical machine that automatically figures out what's

Ren Fest Photos!

I actually did end up going to the Ren Fest!8D Of course, that was like, weeks ago, but I didn't get a chance to upload the pics and such until today. Huzzah! I did not, however, go with my school-friends as planned. They were being wishy-washy and so I just went with my dad, which is actually a good thing, I think.     After crossing the insanely huge and FULL parking lot (it was the last day the festival was open), we were greeted by this building! See the people on the second floor?

Writers, Writers, Everywhere

In the past couple of months, I've met more writers than I've ever thought might exist. Considering the attitude most people my age have towards writing, I never expected that, though we're not a majority, we're not exactly scarce, either. Today I discovered another fantasy/sci-fi writer who was lurking right under my nose. She's in my English class and she always seemed nice, but I never really talked to her. But today I decided to sit at a different table than usual--I'm getting frustrated
