The Sand Stalker...

...is actually awesome somehow.   I just built an recolored one (I don't have Fero and Skirmix), and it works splendidly as a camel-like creature I imagine it would be even better with correctly-colored pieces. No gaping holes in its construction, and a surprisingly unified look.   There's half a Thornax Launcher sticking out of its mouth, and I can't figure out what it's supposed to be. A lolling or flicking tongue, perhaps? A bit like that which would be attached to a bridle? An oddly-posit

The Horrible Halloween

Dear Readers, Seeing as its been 11 days since that special day we call Halloween, it's high time I give my unfortunate readers an update on the Halloween festivities.   My family's celebrations were premature, a word which here means "occurring earlier than is normal for such occasions." We went to a Halloween party at a friend's house on the 29th, and to celebrate the release of Book the 13th, Lyichir and I dressed up as two prominent characters from the novel, Olaf and Ishmael. You would pr

Greetings, Everypeoples!

I'm back from Family Camp at Camp Alleghany in West Virginia with my... err... family, and life is good! Let me update you on some stuff that might interest y'all.   First and foremost, I GOTS THE MAHRI! Certainly, this happened before I left on Saturday, but I hadn't the time then to make a blog entry. So far, my favorite Mahri in terms of both sets and story are Kongu and Matoro. You can probably expect some Mahri drawings soon.   Also, I have now read both Eragon and Eldest, as well as The

Very Unfortunate

Dear Readers, What could be more unfortunate than Aanchir submitting an ASOUE-related artwork for AC13? I'll tell you... Aanchir not submitting an ASOUE-related artwork for AC13. Yes, I realize that I turned down the chance to celebrate everyone's favorite unlucky number, but Lyichir and I have just been unable to pull ourselves together and finish our entry. With any luck , which does not come frequently in the life of a volunteer, I will be able to complete an artwork with this contest's conc

Everyone Turn Your Attention...

...to this post   In every topic that relates to your personal opinion of a set, one person seems to come up with the excuse that "such-and-such isn't true BIONICLE." Why is this? Because some people are so insistent upon having sets follow tradition that they have to make excuses for why the present is not a criterion in the future's tradition.   I'm not trying to discredit the topic starter in particular, but rather the whole illusion that "some sets are more BIONICLE than others."   I hope

You Will Be Missed

It is apalling that the 2008 sets topic has been closed. This is a blow from which I am not apt to recover anytime soon, given that my schedule rarely allows the casual browsing of forums.   The 2008 sets topic was amazingly useful because it was all-inclusive. Thus, it was a very active topic, receiving many relevant posts in a day even if spam posts proved common as well. I could go there and I would immediately have access to all the in-progress debates concerning this year's sets. Thereby I

Fero=retro

Recently (or really not-so-recently, but whatevs) someone discovered that the German bio for Gresh on BIONICLE.com called his weapon a "Jungle Shield" (actually something more like Dschungelshield, but we all know what it means translated). The BS01 Wiki rejoiced to have an actual name for this weapon to replace the article's previous name, "Razor-Edge Shield".   Out of curiosity I decided today to run some German LEGO S@H and BIONICLE.com product descriptions through Google Translate. And when

Entire 2010 Plot Discovered!

"Caught in the vortex of a reality storm, wayfarers from throughout time, myth, and the imagination converge on a mysterious inn at WORLDS' END. In the tradition of Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales, as the travelers all wait out the tempest that rages around them, they share stories of the places they've been, the things they've seen... and those that they've dreamed."   OH WAIT.   Nah, if only BIONICLE could get away with that sort of stuff. But the fanbase, the genre, and other things conspire

Art Contest!

Because I don't want to be the only competitor.   I find it confusing that an entry can get over twice as many comments as most of mine and still not get the entries it requests. C'mon, guys. It's a great contest, and you've had plenty of time to recover from AC#14 and S&TC#3.   On another, more selfish note, please tell me what you think of my entry in this topic.   Thanks for lending me your attention. Mind the step on the way out.   ...   What can I say? It's a spur-of-the-moment en

Does Anyone Know...

... how to use preexisting footage from a DVD *coughWebofShadowscough* for a music video? I'm trying to make a Bionicle music video on Windows Movie Maker (I know it's cheap, but what can I say; it came with the computer), but I can't find a way to save the movie footage I need to my computer. Is this even possible? Thanks in advance.   With all due respect, Aanchir: Rachira of Time

Aanchir's Origin-- Revisited

Here's my latest attempt. Now if you really care what exactly a Rachira is, you know where to look.   Thanks to Lyichir for fact-checking this.   I don't think I'll have time to revisit that topic, and moreover it is not the sort of topic that one wants to clutter up with comments. Therefore, post any comments you might have here rather than there.   With all due respect, Aanchir: Rachira of Time

Aanchir's Topic Archive

As the topic suggests, I have created a Topic Archive content block. This block links to all my relevant topics, which include MOCs, artwork, and stories but omit any answered questions or disproven theories (including my far-too-hopeful Aquaraiders theory from a while back). If anyone remembers any topics I have neglected to include, post it here. Remember, you are my last hope that the creative abilities of Aanchir: Rachira of Time can be shown to the general public.   With all due respect,

Summer Set Thoughts, Part 3

Anyone remember Part 1 and Part II? Well, I figured since I haven't lately done a compilation of my feelings on the sets, and since better pics have shown up of so many, I might as well present one last statement before I actually obtain the sets.   Wrapping It Up There is only one new set to critique here, and that is of course the much-discussed large boxed set that goes by "Toa Mata Nui". He will be hard to critique, since he did not appear at ToyFair and thus has only been seen from one an

Brickfair

-The following is copied shamelessly from my comment in ChocolateFrogs's blog-   I'll be there Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Not sure what times. My family's registered this time, so hopefully some of the activities and such will be cool. And we're bringing several MOCs-- three Agents MOCs, a sort of Space Police III spinoff, and one that's either BIONICLE or System depending on your point of view. I haven't (yet) been able to convince Lyi that we should bring our Toa Nidhiki MOC, but if we do

Bbc45 Progress

UPDATE: I'm probably not going to make Shine. I want to give Tufi as much space in the entry pic as possible, and doing Shine would require that I edit in a demonstration of the transformation.   For the first time in a long time, I am entering an official contest. For BBC45, I have nearly finished an MOC of Tufi. It has a twist that I hope will help me to win this contest, but you'll have to wait until I post it to find out. The remainder of the parts I need will likely come in today or tomorr

Love, Beauty, Etcetera

Dear Reader,   As you well know, love is a thing which captivates many a person. People often go so far as to speculate pairings between fictional characters. I admit that I myself believe in many of these pairings, such as Takanuva+Gali (still love that Greg made her the first one Takanuva asked about in Dark Mirror, Onewa+Krahka, and Jaller+Hahli. However, there is another pairing I support more than any other, and that is Auric+Cerule.   Auric and Cerule are two characters-- or perhaps peop

The Pohatu That Might Have Been...

I discovered today that it's really easy to make a clean edit from the posters in the "Downloads" section on BIONICLE.com. I discovered it rather fortuitously, having copypasted some hi-res Mistika and Phantoka pics from there with the intention of making some generally simple edits. You know, a quick negative and then a complete hue reversal, which in essence kept the colors the same but swapped the light and dark areas of the original image.   The point to this, of course, was to sort of get

About The New Kopaka.

Yes, his mask maintains a major similarity to the original Akaku Nuva. I both love it and hate it for this. I love it because I no longer have to worry about being biased and thinking "it's OK being different" on account of the reason I hate this-- I hated the original Akaku Nuva.   Anyway, the similarity is so simple it doesn't even need an edit. What does this mean? Yes, it's one of those abominable structural similarities. The ones which are useless on my drawings, the ones which render the

Ummm... Shine? Anyone?

The files on the WoS disk aren't compatible with Windows Movie Maker. Any advice?   Sorry for troubling you. If anyone else has answers, feel free to post them here. That's why I made this a blog entry and not a PM. All I need is the video footage.   With all due respect, Aanchir: Rachira of Time

Bbc Voting!

Vote Entry 4: Tufi Piyufi (with a twist!) in Preliminary Poll Ross 154!   ...   Really funny naming system they've got for the polls, using star names. I don't see why we couldn't stick with letters; they were much simpler to remember. Now it'll take forever to vote in all the polls, since I won't even know which I've voted in.   When you get a chance, also check out the topic for my entry and tell me what you think!   May the best entry win!   With all due respect, Aanchir: Rachira of

Not only on this site, but on the Lemony Snicket official site.
