Blogarithm Contest #4: Fresh Salad!

THE ENTRY PERIOD IS NOW CLOSED.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to ...

"What is this?" you might dare to ask. "Why did you name a contest 'fresh salad'? Sumiks, are you mad?" Well, that I most certainly am, but the name does make sense in the context of the contest.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, will be: Build a MOC with a fruit or vegetable. A real, edible, tasty food item. The MOC must contain a fruit or vegetable as part of its construction - you can't photograph any old creation with a banana making a cameo appearance in the background. That's a no-no.

You will have one month to build, starting today, January 1st, 2012, and running through February 29th, 2012. Voting will begin immediately afterwards.

Enter MOCs using the following form:

Member name:

Entry picture:

Entry topic (optional):

Before I conclude, I'd also like to mention that I have a co-host for this contest: Brickeens will be co-hosting, as he came up with the concept of this contest.

So what are you waiting on? Grab a fruit and start building!

Question: Does this mean we have to build the fruit or use real fruit that we can eat?

I've seen some weird contests in my time... but really...

One question, will the secretary disavow any knowledge of my MOC if I am captured or killed?

Well, this is an interesting theme. I might try this out.

At least I can eat the fruit or vegetable once I take the MOC apart.

Nope. We're talkin' real fruit here, folks.

Only if you plan on using a carnivorous fruit ...

I thought of Brickeens' banana hanger.

Brickeens is getting to my brain.

are system minifig fruits allowed?

No, we're talking real fruits here. Edible.

Now that that's clarified, I've already got an idea for an entry.

May we alter the fruit itself? Like carving out a face or something.

I don't see why not.

I like how you incessantly bump this entry.

I like how you incessantly bump this entry.

My blog, my prerogative.

Plus, starting later today, I won't be able to be nearly as active on BZPower. Might as well bump it while I can.

Yes. This is so cool.

Now I must get my hands on a horned melon.

So I'm guessing that since we're allowed to carve stuff into the fruit, carving axle holes and such into the fruit/vegetable to make it more like an oversized, edible Lego piece would be okay too?

So, Can you build a fruit out of Lego Bricks?

Or must it be actual fruit?

As said previously, it has to be an actual, real fruit.

How does this keep getting to the front? :sly:

I don't like letting BIONICLE pieces touch food, so I'm out. :(

I assume system MOCs are allowed?

I finished my entry, just double-checking before I post it.

I don't see a problem with that.

I was going to make an entry.

And then I lost all hope. XD

Kakaru, that is amazing.

But the fruit will be rotten by the time the contest is over ;_;
