Lyichir Posted November 28, 2015 "What Child Is This", in particular Trans-Siberian Orchestra's epic rendition from their album The Lost Christmas Eve. 1 Quote
JAG18 Posted November 28, 2015 Auld Lang Syne is the first thing that comes to mind, even if it is usually considered a New Years song. Failing that, then probably the Ave Maria even if I have so much trouble finding a recorded version I really like to listen to. Quote
SPIRIT Posted November 28, 2015 It's not very well known, but it'll often show up on Canadian radio stations. It's unoriginally titled Merry Christmas by Canadian group BevAcqua, and I like it because it's got a very unique flavour to it. Quote
Pomegranate Posted November 28, 2015 I don't have a favorite Christmas song...... okay it's Feliz Navidad 1 Quote
Zox Tomana Posted November 29, 2015 Auld Lang Syne is the first thing that comes to mind, even if it is usually considered a New Years song. Failing that, then probably the Ave Maria even if I have so much trouble finding a recorded version I really like to listen to.Fraz Biebl wrote a particularly great arrangement of Ave Maria, the words of the prayer being intertwined with some words from the Angelus prayer. The recording of Chanticleer and the US Naval Academy Men's Glee Club singing the TTBB version is a particularly enjoyable version for my ears. Check it out I really like the "Huron Carol" as sung by Heather Dale. Wendat, French and English all together in one song "Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silent" and "O Holy Night" are also among my favorites. The former because it's a very great minor-key song, and the latter because it feels sooooo sooooo amazing to sing. Even better than "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day," which I love because of the turn from "Hate is strong and mocks the song of 'Peace on Earth, good will to men' to 'the wrong shall fail, the right prevail with Peace on Earth, good will to men.' I got a lot of favorites among Christmas carols and hymns... Quote
Naina Posted November 30, 2015 Hear the Angels Sing, or Long Time Ago in Bethlehem. I'm not entirely sure what it's called but it's the first I ever sang for our music class's Christmas concert. Quote
