We're just making it an even playing field, plus it'd be hard to explain why Certavus had, say, a Kanohi Garai on Bara Magna.

Sorry, but that's what we decided on when we made the rules. -Swert

The rules are fine, I'm just not really interested in using one of the twelve helmets or making a custom one. I've got a lot of WIPs I'm working on, anyway.

Meh, I imagine him very similar to Gelu :shrugs:

I don't understand why you can't use your Prize Parts. They are BIONICLE pieces, it just so happens that oly you have them...

(Isn't Certavus an Iconox Glatorian?)

It says masks as anything except masks is allowed.

"Oh hey, we want you to make a new and different Glatorian, but we also want you to use Glatorian heads and you can't use Kanohi, even upside down or in other configurations to differentiate your MOC from the real sets. You have to use one of the helmets already available, so that way Certavus looks just like some other punk Glatorian everyone already owns. Now be creative! "

Makes sense...

Somewhere else.

It's to prevent people going "omg cool parts ill vote for it."

It makes sense, I'm just a bit bummed. 'Cause this means Certavus will probably end up looking like Gresh or something.

Certavus worked for Iconox; that doesn't mean he was an ice Glatorian though.

I think that you should be able to use Kanohi, but only in an upside-down configuration or similar.

Customized helmets are fine.

I think using Kanohi would be ridiculous-- first because only very few Kanohi are designed to attach to the top of the head, and secondly because I can't imagine a single Kanohi besides maybe the noble Ruru that would not be obscenely huge relative to a Glatorian head. No matter what size you make Certavus, I don't think his mask should be that bizarre compared to a regular Glatorian mask.

On that note, there are several things which you could use other than Kanohi or Glatorian masks. Agori masks, Knights' Kingdom masks, those plastic Piraka faces from the tops of the Piraka canisters... all of these would work at a more reasonable size than a Kanohi.

As for the no prototype pieces rule, I can see how that would unfairly sway some votes, even if reasonable voters would base their votes on the quality of the MOC.

I have cooked up a fairly decent MOC without straying from any of these rules. As for you, Bunda, you're an MOCing genius, so I have no doubt you can cook up an MOC that is equally brilliant, regardless of what restrictions there might be.

I never once said you HAD to use a Glatorian head.

I've seen what good builders could do, they can make anything if they put their minds to it.

Plus, at the moment I am trying to appeal to people on my staff to allow SOME Kanohi. Not all, SOME. -Swert

I think the contest should have waited until the summer sets came out, personally. 'Cause I think he'd look some-what like Gelu.

Gelu's helmet would lok good on a MOC.

The thing with using Gelu's helmet is the same as using Strakk's or the Agori's helmet this time around: it's already been used on an ice character.

Which is why I'm building a helmet. (Not because I own neither of those helmets.) (And a head, for that matter, since I don't own a trans-blue head, which I think would look best.)

My question is: why does every entry there have a standard Inika or Piraka body?

My answer: because all the great MOCists are holding back, making their awesome custom bodies awesome. (...and legs and arms and heads.)

That's exactly why I banned it. I know how people think, and that's what a lot of them will think.

Also, Garai is now allowed kk.

Geez, Certavus is gonna look exactly the same just because he might have the same head as other Glatorian do, while the body is completely different?

Makes sense.

I'm debating between a white/grey MOC and a brown/black (maybe tan, might throw in keetorange) MOC. Custom head/helmet of course. Because yes, using Strakk's or Metus's helmet will make him look like them. (Though personally I'd prefer to see Metus's.) Or whatever other helmet is chosen.

I also need to think about how voters will think. Every MOC entered so far has a pre-build body. If this were a LEGO Mag contest, then my custom body/arms/legs would be like gold. But seeing all these entries, I wonder if voters don't want to see a new torso....

Also, do they want him to be icy, or will they take into account that villages could hire out somebody else with different colored armor? Because right now I'm thinking about my ice MOC, but the brown one could do quite well if color will not be a big factor.
