Blog Q&A

Welcome to the Blog Q&A. This is your chance to speak directly to the Blog Staff (DeeVee, the Blog Leader, and his assistants Nukaya, Shine, Bfahome, Ta-metru_defender, and Takuma Nuva) and ask any questions you may have about the world of blogs.

Please check out the Blog FAQ first, as your question may have been already answered.

It's not copy-right infringement if I upload a music album's artwork to use in my blog and say it's not mine, right?

Nope. Especially not if you specifically state it's not yours.

You can send them via PM; you can also post them in the comment of whatever entry has earned that blog your approval (provided your comment doesn't just contain the image).

It also depends on what the blog owner wants - if they only want it via PM or by comment well it's up to them.

I've been told that spoiler tags aren't allowed in blogs, and yet people use them for approvals and etc. A friend of mine hear told be that he was PMed by B6 that the spoilers aren't allowed and he had removed them. I ask, is this rule true, and shouldn't it be added to the Blog Rules entry if it's true?

Spoiler tags are to be used for spoilers only.

Seeing as the rule applies to the entire site, I don't think it needs to be relisted in the Blog Rules.

Bingo bango.

Just adding to the whole spoiler tag thing, the whole 'spoilering the approval images' thing sounds good in theory, but in reality does nothing; the computer still has to load those images when it loads the page, it doesn't load them when they pop out. So all it does is keep from stretching the screen; otherwise it's just pointless, and breaks the rules.

Would a non-spoiler spoiler tag be useful? Because most of my approvals stretch people's screens, so that's why they are spoiler'd.

Spoiler tags still aren't permitted outside of using them for spoilers. If the approvals in your approval block spill over or stretch the screen, you should probably link them.

Would double commenting be allowed if it's a repository topic? You know, to store information and such?

Double commenting is not allowed in any way, shape, or form.

Is it all right if I post a preview of an upcoming epic of mine in my blog? Like, say, the story's prologue, for instance?

It's just going to be a preview. The actual story will be posted in the Epics forum later. I was just wondering if I was allowed to preview it on my blog first :) .

A question. Might it not be better to add, under the blog reporting section, that you can also PM the blog owner? Sometimes the owner of the blog where a rule has been broken may either not be aware of the rule, or simply have not seen the offending post.

You don't have to do that, it's up to you.

Both are a okay option, though if it's an offending post I'd PM BlogAlert.

Edit: DeeVee gave the right answer, below.

No, because all blog owners should read the rules before making a blog and making entries. Failing to know the rules is your fault- not ours.

I was thinking more along the lines of comments,as the the majority of BZP members don't approve comments, and as such may have simply been unaware of the offending comment.

It's my understanding that blog clubs have to be all-inclusive - people cannot be excluded for any reason from said club. That being said, I've seen members put people who join their clubs on "probation". This seems like a violation of the all-inclusion rule. Am I correct?

If I've read the rules right, any form of excluding (that includes "probation") someone from a club is against the rules, and should be reported.

But I'd wait to here the answer from a Blog Assistant/Leader.
