I have to agree that they were getting out of hand. Although I don't really see the difference between posting an image with text and just posting that text, and the latter of which isn't banned.

And wouldn't the latter example I gave in my previous post count as "half-spamming", which is typically banned under the board's general rules?

How so? You're replying to two quotes. :shrugs:

If you have a comic series going in your comics, is it ok to double post is just that thread? It's fine to in the real comic forum.

That rule is for the comics forum itself, not the blogs, so I'd say no.

It would also serve no purpose; commenting doesn't bump entries, unless you're viewing blogs by last comment (which isn't the default view). Instead, you can bump the entry by drafting it then re-publishing it, which makes the entry first in the default view and is entirely within the rules.

oh come on man

Would emoticons apply to the image-only rule as well?

Yup, they would. Also, comments with only emoticons fall under the spam rule too. If I recall they have been against the rules in the blogs for awhile.

I recall having some quite lengthy emoticon-comment things in my Blog back a couple months ago. [When my Blog got an insane amount of spam]

How come I never got a warning?

He speaks specifically about what Kohaku just said above.

Personally, Brick, I think it's because you handled it yourself and told them/us (DX) to stop.

There's never been an 'official no emoticon-only comments' rule before. It's been an either/or kind of thing. You know? Judgment call.

And now it's not. :)

I removed my blog title to see what the result would be, and the whole thing kind of get deleted. It would let me make a new one, but would it store all my past posts, or would I be starting over completely?

My Mom wants to RSS my blog. How do we go about doing that? The setting is switched on, but neither of us are quite sure how to activate it.

There's an entry all about that right here.

QUESTIONS.

1) Is it mandatory to set all comments to "approve", or just "highly recommended"?

2) When you set all comments to approve, how will you know when people try to comment in old entries, when they're back a few pages?

1. Highly recommended.

2. Comment notifications will still be sent to your email address.

Sorta a question, don't know if this has already been answered...but is there a way to either fix the report button here or just remove it? I am aware to PM instead, but it still causes some confusion.

Except, I noticed that when I first switched "approve all comments", it didn't send the notification emails until I also checked "New comment notification" separately, so make sure you click that as well or you won't be notified of new comments.

We have talked about it before, I'm not sure if their is a way to remove it either.

Good catch, I forgot about that.

I find it really odd that the blogs have report buttons by default, but no staff can receive reports sent using them. =/ I'm just gonna take a wild guess here, but could there be something missing in blog staff's member group settings that enable them to receive reports that the forum staff's groups have?

All the right settings are turned on. It's just a matter of the board software and blog software not integrating the way they are supposed to. We have a lot of custom hacks in place on the boards, and that can make finding these problems difficult.

Another quick question: How do I take a post and send it several pages back, aside from drafting all the ones infront of it?
