  1. Hubert, I actually felt really sad after reading that. Oh my God, that's really sad
  2. OOC: Just wrapping up a few characters, and foreshadowing. IC: Zealokan/Aki-Nui (Le-Wahi) His eyelids flickered open, and the Kineticist sat up. He was in a casualty tent, surrounded by villagers treating the wounded and dying. He held his head and groaned as memories of the battle flooded his mind. The screams of a legion of Rahkshi, elements of every variety filling the air. Eventually the visions vanished, and he sighed heavily. There was a strange sensation in his left arm, and he pulled it up into his field of vision. 'Oh.' He stared at his forearm, scarred and disfigured, two bloodied stumps where his little and ring fingers once were. He twisted his hand around experimentally, and instantly regretted it, clutching his arm in pain, restraining a scream. A Le-Matoran ran over to him, and applied bandages to his forearm and finger-stumps, saying reassuring things the whole time. They struck up a good conversation, even had a few laughs. After the Le-Matoran had finished attending to him, Zealokan grabbed his walking stick, and went to leave the tent, turning around at the last second. 'What's your name, kid?' 'Just call me Sister.' The Silver Toa smiled, and left for the stables, well outside the village. The Bull perked his head up at the sound of his name. Silver Friend return back! He rushed to the edge of the fence, careful not to break it like so many times before. His owner opened the gate and jumped on his back. 'Come on, Aki. We're going on a little trip. I need to see something.' Zeal whipped the reins, and the Kane-Ra moved slowly into the jungle. They emerged into a clearing, where Aki-Nui looked up as his owner quizzically. 'Not yet, just a little further.' He looked around and tried to smile. I met Skyra here. He helped me fight a couple of psychos. I probably would've died if it wasn't for him. Aki continued onward. They emerged onto a beach, where Zealokan dismounted, and breathed in the salty sea air. He was in Kanae Bay, where his adventure had begun. Of course, he knew that. Zeal knew so much more about his new home. IC: Payiges (Po-Wahi) She emerged from the tunnels of Onu-Wahi, squinting as her eyes adjusted to the light. Payiges was grateful to be out of the claustrophobic underground, having spent a few days in the village collecting her thoughts. She knew a few things, and frequently recited them. 'I am Payiges. I am a Toa of Lightning. I am on the island of Mata Nui.' That was about it. She didn't remember why she had woken up in a hospital, or who the mysterious Silver Toa was that took her there. She furrowed her brow. Payiges... it meant that she had a past, something that, as far as she was concerned, happened without her. This was a perfect moment, to start anew. No more Payiges, no more remembering. She smiled to herself, her new name chosen, oddly familiar as it was. 'I am Kai'lan. I am a Toa of Lightning. I am on the island of Mata Nui.' She suddenly felt ill. As she stumbled through the desert towards the village of Po-Koro, Kai saw a dried-up desert plant, and knelt down to it, took a small bit in her hand and crushed it up into a fine powder. She then consumed the foul-tasting substance, struggling to swallow it. However, her nausea cleared up, and she even felt more perceptive than before. Could do with a little something... IC: Reaver (Ga-Wahi)She will pay. By Karzahni, she will pay. The Scarred Toa left the Marine outpost, heartbroken, saddened, and very, very angry. They had told her that the fire that burned the Casa Juturna to the ground was caused by a strange winged figure. She was to blame for the death of her best friend, Emotia, and nearly killing Reaver. A demon in angel's clothing. She leant against a wall in a back alley, and drew her knives. She ran her finger along the edge, scratched, sharp, familiar. They gave of an aura of rage, of bloodlust. A smirk spread over her face.I will make her pay. But who says I can't make a few widgets on the side?
  3. I am very happy with this ending, leaves a lot of possibilities open. Saving the best for last, I see, EW. Well done, all, and here's to another season
  4. IC: Avolka / Gearheadville - Avolka's Workshop I flicked the back of her neck, and the electromagnets holding her board were deactivated. 'Don't tell anyone about that, design fault I still haven't worked out yet.' I slid the hoverboard underneath where her legs once were, so she wouldn't have to lope around on her hands. 'So, shall we be off then?' I jumped, threw my own board down, and kicked it into life. 'Onwards!' Before I set off, I suddenly remembered that she would be leading. 'Ummm... could you?'
  5. We need this in our lives. There's probably a topic we should be on.
  6. Some kind of Boxor-Ussanui hybrid. Also known as the "We win everything forever because flying punches"
  7. The Mask of Light film is great for combo tactics that small teams of Toa could perform. That, and we all get Ussanui afterwards.
  8. I think I might come out of my hiatus for this. All of the other crew members up for it?(Lord Captain Shrike and Lohkar walk into a bar...)
  9. Incorrect. The Infernavika is a smaller, sleeker and faster ship than the Fowadi. But it does have multiple decks and storage space, and thus could potentially be used to carry refugees; however, I think that the large number of vessels in dock at Ga-Koro would be better used for this and the 'Vika and 'Wadi, as powerful warships, would be more useful in battle. All this talk of pirate ships makes me want to revive the Kavinika. The more the merrier, eh?
  10. IC: Avolka / Gearheadville 'Oh... Right.' I looked down at my feet. 'I'm tired. Look, point is, we don't have the parts NOW, which is when we need them. So, are we going to go fetch them or not?' And yes, I did remember that she was paralysed from the waist down.
  11. Looks like I left this RPG at the right time.I'm not even kidding, I simply can't be bothered with the Rahkshi Legions.
  12. IC: Avolka / Gearheadville - Avolka's Workshop 'Fifty percent!..... Mata Nui, lady, are you trying to rob me? Thirty-five, no more.' I was slightly taken aback by her brazenness. This repair/installation job would cost a lot, no way I'm losing half of that.
  13. IC: Avolka / Gearheadville - Avolka's Workshop 'Finally, someone who speaks my language.' I grinned ear to ear. 'I know where I can get the parts, but unfortunately, the bank's closed, so we either wait this out until morning, or commit some cr-...... very illegitimate activities, in order to obtain the parts or money.' I tapped my fingers together, struggling to maintain my facade as a by-the-book mechanic.
  14. Lorax. You're scary, you know that? Seriously, mad respect for getting those numbers, must've taken ages, but the pay-off was sure worth it
  15. IC: Zealokan 'Yeah. We had a good run.' Zealokan drank again, and chuckled. 'The musical. What we we thinking?' He clinked his bottle of Salamander's against the Toa of Sonic's mug of ale. 'To the memory of the Hau Karda, and their silly song-and-dance.' He stood up, turned to Dekuna, and pulled him into a hug. 'I'm going to retire for the night. I feel we won't see each other for a while, my friend.' He patted him on the back, and turned to leave. Before ascending the stairs, The Silver Toa looked back, waved, and smiled his earnest, weathered smile. Then he turned back, and retreated into his room. Because that's what we do when we're not risking our necks for the people. We dance, sing, play, laugh, cry, drink, talk. We try to put our troubles behind us. I used to think I was guided here by the Great Spirit to get revenge, for a shot at taking down the Makuta once and for all, for what he did to me and my people. But no. Mata Nui was giving me another chance, a new life. It was one without purpose, without direction, but it was a life, tangible and real. The Great Spirit guided me here not to remember the lost village of Ve-Koro,, but to forget it. To forge a new life, with friendship and.... and love. I think He would be proud with his work. And so, I bid you farewell, dear friend. May quiet rest find you this night, and all the stars whisk you away to lands of wonder. Heh. I should write a book. OOC: This will be my final post for this season, excluding the discussion topic. It's been a blast, guys. Hope to see you all next season
  16. IC: Zealokan 'It's okay, mate,' He said quietly, withdrawn. 'Miha's gone. We had a bit of a row, now she's skived off to do Mata Nui knows what.' He took another long drink from his Salamander's. 'I think it's pretty fair to say that the Hau Karda is no more.'
  17. IC: Avolka / Gearheadville - Avolka's Workshop 'You're paralysed from the waist down and I'm not sure I have the replacement parts.' I didn't mince words. 'The good news is, the holster is installed, and by the looks of it,' I held the hoverboard above her back, and it was immediately stuck to it. 'working fine. You can consciously turn the electromagnets on and off, when required. But, for now, it's a bit useless until I can repair your spine.'
  18. He sighed. This is my unofficial last post of the season, unless any of the people I pointed out in the post want to interact. I'm also quite proud of it, as, compared to my earlier material in this RPG, it's certainly an improvement on my general writing style, in my mind. Hopefully it's a good read
  19. IC: Zealokan He sighed. It was about the twelfth time he had sighed that minute. Zealokan didn't really get angry a lot. He mainly vented his rage through subtle sarcasm and cynicism. It helped him to maintain a positive public image, right? That's what Toa need to do. They need to represent a hope for the people of a down-trodden and oppressed people. But Miha knew now, that beneath the witty, cocky, silver-tongued smile that stood for justice where there was none, was a rage that threatened to boil over at any given moment. He sighed. Zealokan stood. Zygad's hut would be no good for the night, the Kineticist's fury having torn several new cracks in the roof. He grabbed his cane and limped out of the abandoned hut, into the village. He sighed. His eyes were drawn to Skyra, conversing with a vaguely familiar Toa of Gravity and a couple of others. He briefly considered talking to him... her... darn it. He wanted to straighten things out with his friend, the first benevolent being he met on this island. Just wait, Zeal. You screwed up pretty badly. She'll talk to you when she wants to. He nodded reassuringly to himself, looked over to Skyra, and gestured in the general direction he was going, in case she wanted to talk. He sighed. Continuing on, he saw Dekuna. Good ol' Dekuna, whom he had share many a pillow fight with, who had been with his travelling companion since the birth of the Hau Karda, which now lay in shambles. Zealokan thought maybe he should by him a Salamander's, reminisce back to the good ol' days. He looks determined, on a mission. Probably not the right time. He nodded reassuringly to himself, looked over to Dekuna, and gestured in the general direction he was going, in case he wanted to talk. He sighed. He entered a tavern, the Mighty Muaka. Taking up a stool, he held up a finger. 'Salamander's Revenge,' he muttered. The barkeep smiled, and slid a bottle to him down the bar. He uncapped it, and took a long hearty swig. He sighed. OOC: Wrapping up loose ends before ending my run in this season. Lorax, Billion Cats, if you guys want to interact, now's the time.
  20. IC: Avolka / Gearheadville - Avolka's Workshop 'Okay,' I said, flipping down a second lens over the one on my mask. 'Let's get to it.' I directed Liluke to a table, and told her to lay down on it. Once this was accomplished, I pulled out my clockmaker's tools, and slowly pried the armour on her back open. 'By the Great Beings....' Never had I seen such an intricate arrangement of circuitry and mechanisms, not even in my own clocks. It was, in a way, beautiful, that something as artificial as this could give and sustain life. 'Okay.. ummm, sorry, but... wow.' I promptly stopped mentally swooning over Liluke, and went to work. 'Okay, this is a delicate procedure, and yes, there is every chance that I could paralyse you, but I'm sure it would only be a temporary problem.' Right on freaking cue, my fingers twitched ever so slightly, and disconnected the mechanism that allowed her control over her legs. She turned her head up, and gently pushed it back down. 'Temporary problem!' I yelled. I walked over to a nearby workbench, and grabbed two electromagnets. I then, ever so carefully, wired them up to her equivalent of a brain, and closed up her armour. 'Okay, do you want the good news or the bad news first?'
  21. OOC: I'm assuming the leg has been detached from Liluke IC: Avolka / Gearheadville - Avolka's Workshop I quickly slid over to the leg, activating the magnifying lens on my mask. 'Yup, lots of wear and tear on the joints, no doubt about it. This'll take a few minutes, if you want to sit in the waiting room, grab a newspaper or something, that would wonderful.' I pulled out my tools, and set to work on the beautiful piece of machinery my client called a leg. ONE TIMESKIP LATER I lay down my clockmaker's tools. 'Liluke! Come in here, I think I'm done with your leg!' As she hobbled into the room, I twinged some of the artificial nerves. The leg proceeded to stretch out suddenly, hitting me in the jaw with the force of... well, a hydraulic leg, sending me to the floor. 'If my jaw's broken,' I paused, groaning in pain. 'You're paying damages.' I pulled myself up, quickly altering some of the work I had done, then twinged the nerves again. This time, it was a smooth, soft motion, like a lady's leg should have. 'Right, that's one down. Want to give me the other?'ANOTHER TIMESKIP LATER 'Aaaaaaand that's both legs.' As she reattached it, I knelt down beside her. 'So, are we ready to have that holster installed?
  22. IC: Avolka / Gearheadville - Avolka's Workshop I looked Liluke up and down, admiring the mechanisms of her body. Whoever made this robot really knew what they were doing 'I really wouldn't know where. Never worked on a Maxilos before. Your leg servos must've taken some wear from the race earlier, though. Of course, you'll be rendered unable to walk when I'm working on them. Your choice, really.'
  23. IC: Avolka / Gearheadville - Avolka's Workshop 'Hmmm... I can do the repair, for sure. But the hoverboard integration might take some effort. I could just install mag-levs into your feet, but that would mean I'd have to build them from scratch, and with my methods, that takes weeks to get right. That, and hoverboots are very unstable and hard to direct. Believe me, I've tried.' I grabbed a few bits of scrap, tinkering with them. It's what I do when I think. 'Or, and this is much easier, I could integrate a magnetic holster into your back, and you could store the board there.' I quickly ran out back, grabbed the board, a bit of a junker at the moment, and presented it to Liluke. 'This'll just need a touch-up beforehand, but I assure you it's quality, one-of-a-kind. Can't find a board like this anywhere else in the city.'
  24. IC: Avolka / Gearheadville - Avolka's Workshop Beaten! By a girl, no less! Oh well, I was a man of my word. I powered down my Board, and tossed it onto a nearby workbench. Blasted thing can wait, I've got a customer. 'So, do we just want a general repair today, any modifications of any sort? I've still got that hoverboard out back if you're keen.' I flinched slightly, then went to grab my tools 'Mata Nui... sorry, just realised that I've never worked on a person before.'
  25. IC: Avolka / Gearheadville - Nearing Avolka's Workshop very quickly Sixty bios. Fifty. Forty. Then I heard an alarming grinding sound beneath my feet as the Thruster Modules locked up. 'No, no, no, no!' I kick the switch again and again, trying to reboot them, but it just wouldn't go. Liluke was catching up. Very fast.
