  1. IC: Avolka / Gearheadville - Rooftops Leaping and leaping and leaping and leaping. I still had a good lead on the Maxilos, but my thigh muscles were on fire. I'd have to drop down to street level soon or I'd trip up. So I did. Here, it was long, flat, and, most importantly, a straight run to the Workshop. I kicked another switch on the board, and the Thruster Modules whirred into life with a metallic scream. When Liluke finally caught the trail, it'd be pretty faint. Let's see that Copper catch up to me now.
  2. IC: Avolka / Gearheadville - all over the freaking place 'Shortcut!' I yelled, riding up on to a wall, and pushing off, side-flipping over to the opposite rooftop. As I lept from roof to roof, I kicked a small switch on my Board, activating a trail of blue light that Liluke could follow. And trust me, she would be following. Assuming I didn't screw up one of these jumps and break my darned neck.
  3. We can't stop here. This is Rama Country.
  4. IC: Avolka / Gearheadville - Streets I held up three fingers, flicking them down one at at a time, my Hoverboard beginning to rise with an almighty humming sound. On the last count, I threw my hand down. Had my Hoverboard been capable of stirring up dust, Liluke would be eating it.
  5. IC: Avolka / Gearheadville - Streets 'Okay.' I jumped on my Hoverboard, turn back to Liluke, and grinned. 'Try to keep up.' I've had years to optimise my board. One of the fastest things on no wheels. It'd be hard, even for a Maxilos, to match my pace.
  6. 1000 pages. Cool. (Sorry, it's just a bit noteworthy) Anyway, I'm going to be wrapping up my involvement in this season soon. Not that anyway was interacting with me, but if you were looking to, tough luck. I'm sorry, guys. I love you.
  7. IC: Avolka / Gearheadville - Outside bank 'Sure thing. Are you going come back to the workshop with me, see if I can modify anything?' I genuinely was trying to help. I'm really a nice guy underneath all the shady business practices, honest!
  8. IC: Avolka / Gearheadville - Bank 'Well, that's because you're not talking to the right people.' I said as I pushed open the door, waving in Liluke and the Le-Toa. Once inside, I went right past the bank tellers, instead heading for a back door. I knocked on it rhythmically. There was a sliding of bolts and latches heard on the other side. The door opened a tiny bit, and a yellow eye with a scar over it looked through. 'What do you want?' 'My dear friend. This Le-Toa here would like to make a deposit into my account.' 'Another Racing Leaguer, huh?' 'They never pay on time. I've had to... enforce it.' 'You've been doing a darn good-' His eye widened when he saw the Maxilos. 'IS THAT A COPPER?' 'Relax, friend, she's just here to oversee the transaction.' 'Alright. But if a raiding party comes knocking at my door tonight, I'm naming you as an associate.' 'Don't force my hand. Now let us in.' Yet more sliding of bolts, and the door opened fully, revealing that the owner of the eye was a scrawny Onu-Toa. He waved us in hastily, and closed the door behind us. I turned to Liluke. 'So I don't use the most legitimate ways of securing my money. At least this guy's never been robbed. The rest of the building gets at least two to three "visits" a week. ONE TIMESKIP LATER We left the bank, and the Le-Toa, whom I'd met years ago in the Duelling League, jumped into his Racer and sped off into the city. 'Sorry about that. It's the only safe place in Gearheadville to keep money nowadays.'
  9. IC: Avolka / Gearheadville - Bank The Racer suddenly skidded to a stop, and I hit the rear bumper, flipping end-over-end, landing upside-down in the passenger seat. The Le-Toa flinched slightly. 'I think we're here!'
  10. IC: Avolka / Gearheadville - Behind a Street Racer'I wasn't kidding about the Hoverboard, either. I've no need for it, I mean, I've got my baby right here,' I said, looking down at my feet. 'It could probably help you on patrol. Heck, if you're interested, I might even get you into the League.' I had nothing to hide. True, the Hoverboard Duel League wasn't exactly the most legitimate sport on the street, but most of the races were by the Suits, who had authority above and beyond the Coppers. Heck, I knew Coppers who got in on the act more than once.
  11. IC: Avolka / Gearheadville - Behind a Street RacerBy the end of her story I was a bit wide-eyed, my jaw hanging open. 'Wow. Just.... wow.' I quickly composed myself. 'Say, after this is done and dusted, you want to come back to the Workshop? I'm a mechanic and clockmaker, I could probably help modify the Maxilos unit you're wearing. I might even have a spare Hoverboard lying around.'
  12. Including death.Actually, most of the stuff in there is probably death.
  13. IC: Avolka'Another two minutes, at least! It's a big city, you know!' The Le-Toa was petrified, but seemed to calm down in the presence of the Copper. There was a noticeable drop in speed as Liluke went up to the front of the Racer, and I had a much easier time keeping upright, even gave me the opportunity to pull off a few tricks. 'How are we doing up there?' I yelled forward to the Le-Toa and the Maxilos.
  14. IC: Avolka / Gearheadville - back of a Street Racer I held my hand up, a small fireball resting in my palm. 'I have time.' The Street Racer went over a pothole, and I nearly lost my balance.
  15. IC: Avolka / Gearheadville - On the back of a rapid-moving Street Racer'Now, you look like someone who could crush a man's skull like *clicks* that,' I said calmly, 'so forgive me for asking but you're not exactly a Toa, are you?'
  16. IC: Avolka / Gearheadville - whizzing through the streets at a high speed.I looked to the Copper and smiled. 'Think about it this way, ma'am. This is Gearheadville, I just repaired this man's car, and knowing him and his various associates in the Street Racing League, I'm not going to get paid. This is.... positive reinforcement, let's say. We're on our way to the bank right now, aren't we sir?' 'Yes! Yes we are!' The huge Le-Toa, strong as he was, lost all illusion of brutality when faced with a sword. 'Excellent. I'll be happy to jump off the car, ma'am, just as soon as he's made the transaction. Feel free to come along and supervise, if you wish.' I grinned, and jumped off the back of the Racer, landing on my Hoverboard, gripping the spoiler for dear life.'Avolka, by the way.'
  17. IC: Avolka / Gearheadville - Avolka's WorkshopTicking and clacking echoed throughout the small building, the sound of clockwork filled the air. Out back, I was under a Street Racer, tinkering with the engine, the owner's precise request in mind.Make it go faster. It was customers like this that made my day worthwhile. No specifics, no restrictions, just free reign over another man's pride and joy. I stood upright and popped the hood, admiring my work on the V-16 engine (chrome-plated, of course). As much of a fan of the Street Racing League as I was, it was the Hoverboard Duel sub-league that made Gearheadville a worthwhile place. I myself was a competitor. Not exactly high-ranking, maybe twenty-seventh overall. Of course, I was improving. As non-lethal as I tried to be, well... accidents happen, yeah?I closed the hood and waited for the owner to pick up his speed-machine. In the meantime, I decided to make modifications to my Hoverboard. I placed it upside-down on my workbench, and pulled out my clockmaker's tools, the only devices precise enough to be able to work on my Board. You know, sabotage and all. The stabilisers were out of alignment and the booster modules were busted after a particularly nasty bailout a few days prior. A few minutes work, and and it was (mostly) good as new. In good time, too. The hulking Le-Toa has returned to pick up his Street Racer. He smiled, rather threatingly, with several golden teeth, I might add, and said that he'd wire the widgets through to my account later on. I knew that he wouldn't, this being Gearheadville and all, so I guess I had to make sure he would. As he left the garage in his Racer, I quickly threw my Board down, jumped on it, and grabbed the rear spoiler of the machine. I'd done this a few times, all with similar (and satisfying) results. When we were far enough away from the Workshop, I jumped up on the Racer (kicking my Board up onto my back), and lept forward, on to the bonnet. It's at this point I lay my hand on my Katana's hilt, my finger firmly on the sheath's trigger.'So we're going to the bank are we?' I said with a grin. The sheer look of terror on his face brightened my day even more than working on that engine.OOC: Avolka Open for Interaction.

  20. I've still got a whole bunch of mine displayed. Bionicle will always be one of my favourite LEGO lines, if not favourite toy lines.
  21. IC: Zealokan Miha started skidding backwards, twisting around to face the Silver Toa. 'Alright. So I'm a coward. Did you ever consider that I've always been a coward and I created a team so that I wouldn't be so vulnerable? That the Hau Karda was just a shield to hide behind, to surround myself with people who would give everything to protect each other, so that there would be a slightly lower possibility of horribly inevitable death?' He pushed her back lightly, moving her along her original path. 'So, I'll let you go on your merry way. Send Echelon my regards. Because only a Visic would be stubbornly stupid enough to confront him alone.' There was no hint of compassion in his voice this time. Just frustration and defeat, with a tiny bit of smugness. He retreated back into the hut, out of sight of the Le-Matoran he once called teammate.
  22. IC: Zealokan 'ENOUGH!!' Miha froze in place, all of her momentum absorbed in a brief flicker of rage. Cracks started to appear in the roof and walls, the entire hut creaking and threatening to collapse. 'Yes, because you're oh-so-exceptional! You're the ONLY one on this island who has it worse off than everyone! You try living every day with the weight of an entire ELEMENT on your shoulders! We were at an apex, just starting to reach out into the world around, people would hear of the wonders that Ve-Koro had to offer. It was stolen from us, from ME! Friends, family, all dead and scorched with a snap of His dark, rusted fingers!''I survived because the Makuta needed one more victim yet, one more to wander the land searching for someone who would listen to his story, who would understand exactly what he was on about, because that person had lost everything they had ever loved as well.' He looked the Le-Matoran dead in the eye. 'And I found her. She whose life turned to Karzahni around her wherever she went. She who stumbled through it all and made the best of it. She who I value as a friend and teammate more than anyone on this Great Spirit-forsaken island.' The hut stopped creaking. He stood up, found his balance, and returned Miha's ability to move. 'For Mata Nui's sake, Miha, I honestly don't care if you hate me more than any being on the entirety of Mata Nui, because you're my friend, but at the end of the day, you're still as stubborn and hot-headed as ever, I'm still an insufferable. stupid coward.' He sat down. 'I was never a Toa-hero. Just a guy trying to forget. And if that breaks your dear little heart, I say wake up and smell the ashes, because it doesn't get any easier from here.' 'But don't lose hope. For your sake and mine, just don't.'
  23. I will just say, I'm not supporting my own RPG. It was rushed and not fleshed out enough. Feel free to vote for it, but I don't really care either way. That said, vote TBLP and Undying. Yup, shameless advertising for other people. Just call me the shamemeister.
  24. Ahh, yes, I can explain that. See, I procrastinated. A lot. I'll likely flesh it out a lot more next contest.Until then, I'll definitely be voting for The Best Laid Plans, and others depending on when I get time to read the entries
  25. Is it bad that the first thing I thought was 'nice movie poster'? There's a welcome back in there somewhere, I'm sure of it.
