  1. Opera 11 is sooo much cooler. Faster (FF 4 has nearly closed the gap though), more features (I hope all major browsers copy Tab Stacking soon :P), IMO easier to use.

I still use FF a lot though, mostly because Opera Dragonfly hasn't caught up to Firebug yet. :(

  2. I'm like, totally, like, in!!!

Mind if I use that banner?

Also, Guys who oppose the barbie movement, please don't get this topic locked for excessive roleplaying. It's beginning to go in that direction. ;)

No problem. No need to give credit either, it took me like 5 minutes to make. :P

EDIT: Gotta remember the pink. :P

    What

It loads the info for that box via and Ajax request. The server replied with it's typical "Server Too Busy" message, and the box just inserted the HTML content anyway (it has no way to tell whether it got the info it wanted or not).

  3. Unless you're popular here, you will be bashed for any ideas you have.

Wow no kidding. I dared to disagree with Aho in the link you posted. He has an army fiercely attacking anyone who doesn't share his opinion. I think I'll just agree with everyone on everything from now on....

No, there are several people who agree with Aho - who is a staff member in case you forgot - because he has a great point. I agree with him not because he's popular but because what he said was true.

The "Unless you're popular here your ideas are bashed" thing is totally inaccurate.

He does have a point in some cases. But AFAIK the cases he's right in it's already against the rules to do.

I don't care if he's a staff member. I treat staff members just like I treat new members and regular members and premier members. Just because they're staff doesn't make them automatically always right or something.

The "Unless you're popular here your ideas are bashed" thing is totally inaccurate.

Okay, well, maybe it is a bit of an exaggeration, still, I find most people are usually more willing to side with a staff member than a regular member.

  5. And as a final thought, I personally believe that BIONICLE should stay as it is: Ended. It had a great run, yeah, but all good things must come to an end and I think 2010 was a good time for BIONICLE's.

    Who said that?

This shows how loyal you are to Bionicle. And I am sick of this. Anybody who isn't a member of BBBC and comments on one of the BBBC entries will have their post deleted. It's for us to discuss Bionicle, not to hear about how this club won't work.

So in other words, you're excluding them?

    # Blog clubs are allowed. The only condition is that you cannot exclude anyone and it falls within the general BZP rules.

We aren't excluding anyone. Anyone can join, but people who haven't joined can't post (except I guess to join) so that we don't have a lot of off-topic discussion.

  6. Dear gods, that quote has been beaten to death and you guys are reading waaay too much into it.

What exactly are we reading into it? Whenever someone says clubs to bring BIONICLE back don't work, we quote it, because it sums things up nicely.

Just talk about BIONICLE and keep the interest alive. That's all Greg meant - he never said to start a bunch of clubs and "campaign" for BIONICLE's return.

Somehow this doesn't count as "keeping the interest alive"?

My point is.. It's been a year since BIONICLE ended. These clubs and groups have been done over and over - been there, done that, got the T-shirt. And they're just not working.

And somehow that means this one won't?

The chances of it working are next to zero, bro.

Okay, let's take Apple's iPad as an example. Before the iPad, there were literally dozens of similar devices, from 2000 to present. They all failed miserably. Ever heard of the OQO or the Crunchpad? Now, Apple pretty much started a new market for tablet computers. Based on the past, the chances of it working weren't very high. Still, they tried and succeeded. BTW, I'm an Apple hater, and I'm still fairly impressed.

Being a faithful fan of BIONICLE and continuing to talk about it and have interest in it doesn't mean "start clubs and demand we get BIONICLE back", it means just go about the average stuff you do in BIONICLE communities. Discuss the past sets, the continuing story, do creative things based on BIONICLE, (peacefully) show that there's still interest.. that's what that quote means.

Um, this seems like a much more effective way of showing there's still interest than discussing past sets.

Oh, yeah, so effective! It fails every frickin' time. Seriously.

    See above.

If you guys want to move forward with all this silly club stuff, by all means, go on - just don't blame LEGO or the members who "bash" you when it fails.

Greg has addressed the people who started the petitions - which this hardly differs from - saying pretty much that it doesn't work and the best way to "save" BIONICLE is to keep the interest and discussion alive.

I think we are discussing it here, aren't we?

And let's be realistic for a moment - if you guys, by some miracle, happen to succeed in what you're doing, how far in the future do you think it will be before BIONICLE does return? Even if you guys could get LEGO to say "Oh, let's bring back BIONICLE!" tomorrow, new sets would still be a year or so away. How many of you will actually still even be interested in BIONICLE by then? Even if you believe you'll never lose interest, trust me, you will - take this from someone who's been there, done that.

Not everyone does things purely for themselves you know. I at least have a little brother who would love to see BIONICLE come back and would still be interested a year or two from now. We wouldn't just be bringing it back for ourselves. We would be bringing it back for the whole world.

And as a final thought, I personally believe that BIONICLE should stay as it is: Ended. It had a great run, yeah, but all good things must come to an end and I think 2010 was a good time for BIONICLE's.

What are you doing in a "Bring Back BIONICLE" club post, anyway?

I don't think "So you guys should start a bunch of clubs and write petitions and try to convince LEGO to bring BIONICLE back by bad-mouthing Hero Factory" is exactly what he had in mind.

And what do you think he had in mind? We need to show we still like BIONICLE somehow....

My point is.. It's been a year since BIONICLE ended. These clubs and groups have been done over and over - been there, done that, got the T-shirt. And they're just not working.

  8. Download Google Chrome. I have yet to have any problems like that after almost a year. B)

    Night Fury

Aside from the fact that Google takes over your computer and updates things without your permission, yeah it's great. Oh and the fact that it doesn't get along well with Flash... and there is no way to save your tabs.... oh and hardware acceleration is still broken/nonexistent.... and Google tracks the sites you visit....

Yeah Chrome is a great browser. :uhuh:

Firefox FTW. Has anyone checked out FF4 beta yet? It rocks.... fast page loading, fast JavaScript, nice user interface, hardware acceleration (eat that Chrome) for fast page rendering, Tab Panorama.... B)

  9. If nobody takes action for anything, nothing is ever going to happen. You can sit back and do nothing, but the rest of us are going to change the world. Perhaps enough people will hear about this and LEGO really will bring BIONICLE back. If we never do it, we'll never know, will we?

EDIT: Needless to say, I join.
