  1. Sigh... Lew, can't you just come up with your own ideas and back them up via research instead of the conjecture of another guy? Or you know, realize that we're not even discussing the practicality of mechs right now, but just pointing out the sheer power of a cordak autocannon.
  2. You guys do remember what a normal autocannon did to Blindside right? Too soon?
  3. Capable of independent tracking... RIP in peace life. Let's not forget that Cordaks are red so they'll also go 3 times faster.
  4. IC: Silvanni So my plan worked quite spectacularly if you ask me, although the hands above had to spend an annoying amount of time bickering about dumb things and overall just delaying my fun. I hate those people I really do, but that's neither here nor there, and I'm positive that enough of people have listened to this dumb conversation already so let's leave all that behind. Like the Accell Song, the guy's a great Rider. In other news my eyes that scouring the sky had recently taken note of an assailant in the air, cloaking magic being quite visible to my trusty eyes. Well to be honest, it wasn't entirely confirmed that she was an assailant, but I at least knew she wasn't one of us, and because the motto of better safe than sorry was still in play, I had Aeila give me her shield the moment I saw the threat, I also Uah'd her, just because I wanted to try out this nifty new mask, and because we needed all the help we could get when dealing with someone that high up. Speak of the devil she was now charging up an attack, and my trusty eyes immediately gave me the trajectory. I got my shield into the proper position, only took about a second, and then told Aeila to make it immovable. Sure enough a second later a laser fired from the sky straight at my now immovable shield. Now here's a fun little science lesson for all you viewers at home. See lasers, upon contact with a reflective surface, such as metal, do partially what might be implied by term reflective. Yes neet, they get reflected. Of course the more astute little neets might be wondering why they can then burn through metallic surfaces, and that has to do with the fact that only a certain amount of the laser gets reflected and rest is absorbed as heat which will rapidly burn through the object. However, then pray tell, what happens when the metal in question is immovable, if it can't burn through, then the object is perfectly capable of a reflecting at least a fraction of that laser's energy. Now, for one final science experiment, what happens when a guy who can see the trajectory of magic, takes note and positions that object to be capable of reflecting directly back to where it was shot from? This world might be a bit lenient on speed, but I figure a laser is still fast enough that if it went straight back it'd at least graze the caster. Keep in mind that this is a caster whose defenses have already been weakened. Personally I'd say it's just like playing billiards.
  5. Yeah sorry. Been dealing with a bunch of stuff. I should have it done tonight.
  6. tiragath confirmed for best girl Quick waifu her before it's too late.
  7. If I may be so blunt. There really isn't any way you could have prepared for this. It's an ambush that no one knew was coming, fired from a location none of them can see, any attempt to prepare in advance is flat out metagaming. The only real reason it's such an effective ambush is because we successfully pooled powers in a way that isn't possible fighting individually. That's the beauty of strategy. The fact that it's a jam changes nothing, there would have been no way to have reacted to an approach or individual attack posts without it being metagaming. Rather than protest that fact, just get creative yourself, there's many ways to take a team with as many heavy hitters as Kopen's work together in very powerful combos.
  8. IC: Silvanni and His Merry (Wo)Men So I know the hands above want to make this some sort of a jam, but I’ll be honest, not a fan of being shut out like that. So I’m staying in first person. Eat it neets. So anyway I copied Ezezko, sent him off, bla bla blah, you get the gist of it. This new mask was an interesting one to be sure. Alright, the other hand should probably start typing now, so I’ll just back away, but rest assured dear readers, I’ll be back soon enough. “Lady Shiru wants us to focus on Blindside Army.” Aeila stated to the Strike Team leader, regarding the Vortixx with her hands clasped behind her back. “You are already, of course, familiar with the squadron makeup.” “What, yeah, yeah, I am.” I responded, see I told you neets I’d be back soon, but yeah we’ve got a plan worked through and now I get the honor of implementing it. “We’ve got our big buddy Sudrec, Astaer the friendly ghost, little Miss Unstoppable, and me the one and only Shopkeeper A. Noroi wants us knocking out Blindside right?” I asked, although I already knew the answer, this is just formality and social etiquette something neets like you wouldn’t understand. “Yes.” In case you couldn’t tell, that was miss Aeila’s eloquent response, the hand above is being lazy. Again. Anyway, with that piece of formality out of the way, I asked the thing I was actually a little curious about, namely, “Are they any other complications we need to take care of before we arrive at the Sphinx to get our riddle?” “We will be passing by the center of the Arena. There is a high probability that enemy forces will be endeavoring to obtain the Special Weapons that spawn there, so we may encounter some resistance from those enemies, if they are indeed present.” “Ah but I wanted the shiny toys. I’m guessing we’re supposed to murder them to enjoy the Toy R Us? Fine by me, you’re the one who can’t be stopped right, and we have the big walking tank with guns, and little old me who can see all weak points. Do you see what I’m getting at here?” “...” The ancient warrior paused, looking around at the faces around her, and then at the large machine situated adjacent. Her eyes took in every detail, and lit up in realization. “... This machine can function as a ranged platform, and a speedy one at that. And even if its armaments are not initially sufficient… Yes, we could likely eliminate any targets in the center area on our way to Blindside territory.” “Yup, and your friendly neighbourhood Silvanniman will take note of any structural and magical defenses. My eyes are pretty handy after all.” With a wave of my hand, I gathered together Team Kansas, by the way I’m calling this maneuver Operation Dust in the Wind, and grinned as we all got aboard the USS Sudrec. “Now here’s the plan ladies and gentlemen,” I began in my rather illustrious general voice, I see why Heroes get such a kick out of leading parties, “Monsieur Sudrec, you sir are not only our illustrious ride in that beautiful insect mode, but you’re also going to be our little sniper. Your gun goes pretty far after all, Madame Aeila will make sure it can’t be stopped and if needed I’ll point out where to aim, Madame Astaer, just sit tight for now, you’ll be needed once we hit the desert, for now enjoy the ride.” With my beautiful and encouraging speech over, the USS Sudrec took off on it’s maiden voyage, and no I don’t care if it’s not actually the maiden voyage, maiden voyage sounds cool so I’m saying it is. It wasn’t long before we started nearing the edge of the jungle and that’s when my ever watching eyes caught sight of something quite beautiful. Well beautiful for us, not so much for any unfortunate souls that may be inside. See this particular dome was rather obstructive if you were trying to look out, my analyzing eyes instantly told me that there were only a few small slits available, slits that I could make sure we weren’t in the line of sight of. There was no way anyone inside would see this attack coming. “Hey Sudrec, I want you to shoot that dome from here, before they’re able to see us or know we’re coming. Aeila, work your magic. Astaer, enjoy the fireworks.” Aeila had been informed, along the way, that the CHME-03 (as it was apparently called) fired 30mm rounds. With this measurement in mind, she had an idea of how truly monstrous the scale of these projectiles was. Sighting the dome, she was not able to make out too many details; she did not need to, however. All she needed to do was concentrate. And as the Linear Assault Rifle, mounted on the CHME’s shoulder in its present insectile configuration, began to fire, she concentrated very hard. Each 30mm slug was imbued with Unstoppable Force, tearing straight towards the dome. That they would tear through and devastate the occupants was a foregone conclusion; no doubt the destruction of the ice and metal would produce shrapnel to wreak further havoc. They had been outside of the line of sight as they approached, hugging the edge of the jungle. Silvanni’s analysis had ensured that fact. And now, projectiles imbued with incalculable force bore down on their position from the CHME’s full range. Survival rate for the occupants would be very low. “Ka-boom baby,” I exclaimed when the hellfire started. After all seeing Sudrec fire his unstoppable bullets was truly a beautiful sight, it almost brought a tear to my eye and I was curious how the ones inside the dome would fare against this unexpected assault. By my calculations the odds were not in their favour. This was the starving activities for them. Oh yeah, I also kept an eye out for any traces of magic approaching, not even an invisible being would get past my eyes. OOC: Strike Team A attacking blindside dome from the edge of the forest.
  9. In other words, we've given them a ton of evidence that's important. Instead of compiling what they know and coming up with a theory to move forward, they've just been investigating every single piece of minutiae.
  10. Super Robot: Over the top unrealistic combat directly fueled by passion and what not. A pilot can literally will his mech to be like Goku even when it's been stabbed clean through. Real Robot: Realistic combat in mechs that follow the laws of the universe pretty well. A pilot in a broken mech is a dead pilot. Super Robot: The power of love will involve a guy a willing himself back to life to avenge his death before passing on the torch. Real Robot: The guy just died. Super Robot: Pierce the heavens Real Robot: Get pierced by bullets. Get it yet?
  11. Real Robot = Rockets Super Robot = Rocket Punches In other words Real Robots are generally more realistic and tend to function more as extension of sci-fi and military fiction with the mechs generally serving as parts of the military and what not. Super Robot is instead powered by love and camaraderie and involves unrealistic mecha created by crazy people to combat evil monsters or be used by the evil monsters or, here just have a gif. That's just the pilot by the way, the robot is even more over the top.
  12. IC: Malik "And this ladies and gentlemen is what's wrong with the current generation."
  13. IC: Malik I hate everyone right now. All of them. "Hey guys," I began again, this time a lot louder and more forceful, "How bout we all just stop being idiots and not fight? You know, like normal people? There's enough people already fighting on this godforsaken island."
  14. I might be building a nuclear fuser in my backyard with a few bros this summer. I just felt like pointing that out, because yeah Nuclear Energy is more than just nukes. It also means Godzilla.
  15. We have to kill even more nulls this time? Hopefully they're not all as feisty.
  16. Day III: DOUBLE Hang? The next day the village was seized by yet another typical act of blood lust. I was not too surprised, but I did find myself a little disappointed in their seemingly insatiable appetite for death. You see the village had decided to initiate the time-honoured tradition of a double hang. Their logic seemed to rest on two basic assumptions. Number one was that there were two mafia on the list, because somehow the village had deduced that the odds must have dictated so. I do not know whether they were right or wrong, but I suppose I could accept it. It was their second assumption that worried me more, the assumption that they could successfully reason out who the two mafia members were. Personally I felt that their track record didn't warrant much luck when it came to this endeavor, but I am the watcher, my job is not to judge, merely to watch and report. So I merely stood and watched as they dragged out Hina and habrfadtuegwtdlml, or as the village had taken to calling him, Monsieur Gibberish. Together the two approached the gallows with two very different attitudes. Hina appeared a little worried, vehemently protesting that they were not a suspicious Touhounga, that Yuuka and Kanako fit the bill much better. Who knows, perhaps they were right, but the village would hear none of it. Monsieur Gibberish on the other hand appeared extremely excited at the concept of dying via the legendary double hang. Our friendly neighbourhood Monsieur had been dreaming out bit this for quite some team. As the village called for his blood, Monsieur Gibberish was bouncing up and down as though he were some kind of rockstar on the stage. Truly this village is an interesting one. Just as the solemn executioner appeared ready to carry through with the deed and voice rang through the crowd. "WAIT!" The shout caused everyone to freeze in their place, and the cries for blood simmered down. "I want to kill Hina instead." At first the village was confused, they were already planning on killing Hina, but they wanted a double hang as well. "No you don't." The voice was compelling, hypnotizing even, and suddenly everyone was demanding Hina's death. A new bandwagon had cropped up and it would not be satisfied with a simple double hanging. They didn't even allow the executioner to do the deed, instead they marched forward pitchforks and burning torches in hand. "Come on guys," Hina tried to protest, "Yukkuri shiteitte ne! Come on take it easy." The words had no effect, and Hina soon found that it was now game over. Hina Kagiyama, Matoran, Lynched 48 Hours
  17. IC: Malik Why does this keep happening? Everywhere I go something just has to go wrong. Just when we were all able to sit around and have a little bit of fun, some annoying attitudes reared their ugly head out of nowhere and I now had a fight on my hands. Was it too much to ask for a peaceful resolution? I came to this house to relax for god's sake, and here I was dealing with another fight. You know I'm honestly a little annoyed, and it's pissing me off. Why, why, why do I always have to have such bad luck. "Hey guys," I began, finally perking my head in the mess as I got up from the table, "Could we all just chill the out? Cause I don't know about you, but it's been a really, really long day. I mean I even made a really dumb pun to try lightening the mood. How 'bout we just sit down and I tell a few jokes? After all three Toa, a cop and a vegetable walk into a house has got to be the set up for something funny." I have absolutely no idea what I'm saying.
