  1. LIGHT A wandering repentant makes his way through a grassy plain, his goal in mind. A far more noble goal. A goal embodied by his title. Whoever you are... ----- What will you do? ----- NOTICE: Due to the fact that the PM system seems to be bugged, you may post your ACs in a regular post - but please make sure you have a legitimate post alongside it! EDIT: PMs are working again.
  2. Well, hey guys! Guess who just lost two hours of comic work due to a computer crash causing a corrupted image file? That's right. You probably guessed it. Me. So... No comic, yet. Sorry.
  3. LCs are going to be very limited, and more likely if I actually know the person or if I think up a way I can seriously involve them. You're going to have a much better chance if you choose to be an SC - at least then there's a chance you'll be recurring, although not hugely plot-important. Also: This comic is made in Xanis, so unless you have found a six-shade Xanis sheet, I'm assuming you're referring to six-shade Chimoru. You're going to have to make a kit in Xanis.
  4. The first comic is meant to be extremely basic for a beginning - Since it is based on community input, it is up to people who send in ACs to decide who is introduced, and when. So at the moment, there is to be mystery. As for SCing, yes. You're most likely going to have to try and make sprites, send me the description and hope that I can create a sheet for them eventually, or ask someone else to make one for you.
  5. D3:R has been officially launched!

  6. Welcome. Welcome to a new story, a new beginning. A grand opening. A recreation of events long passed... yet different. Welcome to... Dents, Dings and Disasters: Rebirth is a CYOA comic, or when not abbreviated, a Choose Your Own Adventure comic. What this means is that it is based on community input. In other words, all readers may send in what they would like to happen next via PM. These sent messages are known as Action Commands [or ACs]. There are some basic rules however: 1. Prefix your command with the abbreviation for a character. For instance: LER: Do the thing. or... SOR: Do the other thing. 2. You can only send commands for characters that are available to be commanded. There will be a list of command-able characters as the story goes on. 3. Send it in a PM! So as to keep the topic from becoming unnecessarily clogged by simple command posts, and to allow the topic to be used by your actual thoughts on the comic, please use the PM system for commands. 4. Be creative! Feel free to send in something a bit silly or unusual, to make the story more interesting. At the very least, a character's reaction will be something to look forward to. 5. Be understanding. As I most likely will be getting multiple ACs at once, I can only pick one or two, depending on the situation. I might not pick yours. Moving on. The CAMEO SYSTEM. Cameos are the equivalents of Guest Stars, or Permanent Guest Stars. There are two kinds of Cameos: Simple Cameos, and Lasting Cameos, respectively. Simple Cameos [sCs] are the equivalent of GSes, and Lasting Cameos [LCs] are the equivalent of PGSes. However: LCs are not always permanent. If you become too inactive with ACs or at the very least responses, I may have to remove your character to make room for others. Also, SCs might not be extremely important to the plot very often, but it is possible they will appear more than once! So keep an eye out. And now, for the template you use to send in to apply for a Cameo: Name: Spritesheet Link [Xanis only]: Powers [if any]: Fighting style: Weapon: Personality: Cameo Type [sC or LC]: I will be including a list of LCs, SCs, and Main Characters eventually. I will not accept everyone as LCs, keep in mind! ------------------------------ ... ???: Ugh. ???: I always get the night shift... ???: I'd rather be sleeping. It's so unfair... ???: I mean, who would be crazy enough to try and sneak in here? ???: It's such a big compound, and so heavily guarded! We'd have them gunned down in minutes, maybe even seconds! ???: Pfft... ???: HRK! ???: Shhhh... ???: That's not very nice, is it? ???: After all, everyone needs a little crazy to get things done. ???: Just don't make any more noise, and keep quiet. ???: Then I won't have to destroy you right now. ???: Oh, and don't worry. You'll wake up safely on shore... hopefully. ???: No hard feelings. It's just business... ---------- What's this, now? Ah... look at that. A choice. Now... who would you choose? ?LIGHT? ||| ?SHADOW? What will you do?
  7. As the arrival of D3:R is upon us, I would like this topic to be locked, and left to be used as an old record of past trials, mistakes, and good times. It is time to move on, and weave a new story. However, please allow me to create the new topic first so I can leave a link or two here leading to the new one. EDIT: Go ahead and lock it. The link is: HERE
  8. Great to see you back. Hope you manage to keep going, as seeing this update is usually quite an interesting occasion!
  9. While this is decent comic advice on it's own... I will not be accepting it. Sorry. See, D3 is meant to be for the most part serious, and a most certainly not normal/ordinary comic. Community input, twists, all sorts of things - It's not even that stressful, per se. And I will agree that before it was somewhat hard to read - But, D3:R will be more thought out, now that I've figured out what it will be. Before, it was much more confusing since I was trying to decide what kind of comic it would be. This voting has helped with that process. I'm going to be using Xanis, in fact I already have the first two panels of the prologue comic completed. There will be 1-2 more panels, and they will take the same style as previous comics in D3. I appreciate your suggestions, but I have already begun work and unfortunately your advice doesn't exactly apply. But thank you, nonetheless.
  10. Okay, just got off of the whole 'birthday' business, so I should be able to resume work on some of the sheets for D3 Rebirth soon.
  11. Maybe so, but the game itself is in question. Are you the one playing the game, or are you the game being played, as the game plays you? Even that game of your mind is relative to how you think about it. This is what comics can be good at implicating - if done well, they make you think. And you get more immersed into comics that make you think deeply.
  12. Looking good! Speaking of looking, I'm looking forward to seeing how this comic progresses. It should be very interesting.
  13. I rarely every use them - and when I do, they're gratituously undersized to make them look less... comical. More to look like the characters are actually opening their mouths, in which case I can perhaps do a couple of test comics to see what it looks like with/without mouths. Okay, more development and whatnot. I'm continuing to think over it, and at this point, I may use Chimoru for ordinary comics, and Xanis for animations. It's all dependent on this next point: Otherwise, my main problem that's halting progress is my lack of correct mask for this new Leraku. Specifically, the Volitak(Nuparu Mahri). It's going to either take a good amount of work to make a decent-looking Xanis one, or someone ends up making me one (which I would appreciate). So either way, this entire thing is going to take some time. Also, I might need help with backgrounds in the future, as the ones that I currently have been making for D3 are... incredibly mediocre.
  14. Personally, I prefer Xanis due to the fact that it is much more customizable - yes, you can do the same with Chimoru, but it can be a bit confusing with some of the choices being a tad strange. Yes, Xanis is only 4-shade, but I prefer the flexibility I can use with it over Chimoru, whose smaller size can make things look unfortunately... clunky. And I might be animating some panels, and I will have a lot more choices and fluidity with Xanis. I'm likely going to use Xanis, but any further votes from anyone else would be appreciated. Voting will be wrapped up soon.
  15. Important Information Post: D3 is going to be rebooted, now that things have been figured out. Characters/LCs/SCs will be discussed later. At this point, some specific voting is required. Here are the subjects that I need voting on. Gaming Abstractions: Levels, inventory system, 'EXP', things like that Xanis or Chimoru: Xanis has the much more preferable option of poseability, making action scenes much more interesting and diverse. Chimoru has mostly custom-built poses, and is a little more difficult to make custom built poses, but also is six-shade. Just because I've already made Chimoru R sheets doesn't mean that's a reason to keep using it, I can always just quickly make some Xanis sheets. I'm mostly neutral on the kit decision, but I'm leaning towards Xanis because, although I like Chimoru, I will admit it's used quite a lot and it might be interesting to have a Xanis comic, seeing how they're not nearly as common. Names I've got a few already: Disasters Rebirth Dents, Dings and Disasters v2 (D3v2?) Dents, Dings and Disasters Rebirth? Disastrous Chaos Disastrous Rebirth? Disasters Reborn? OTHER: Vote and send in your own suggestion, but make sure you also include one of the above. ...Or, we could just still stick with Dents, Dings and Disasters... Please vote on these subjects, in order to give me feedback on how the development of the comic should go. The comic is based on community feedback, and it's not changing now.
  16. L░R: ▓e h░ve to get th▓re, a░d ░░p wha╋ever's happe░ng. ░OR: Ri░ht, b▓t - LER: Wa▓╋. Wha╋'s go▓ng o- VEE: ...I'm sorry. VEE: It was necessary... VEE: The corruption was too much to fix. =====UNIVERSE DESTROYED=====
  17. Nope! I had been doing this for awhile, actually. Don't forget that I came up with the idea for Observers in the first place, so I had planned this out pretty far ahead.
  18. VEE: ... VEE: I don't understand... VEE: Why is this happening to us? VEE: It makes no sense... Nothing has caused this before. VEE: What kind of interference- VEE: ...Oh no. VEE: My universe! VEE: What's happening?! VEE: ... VEE: I don't like having to do this...
  19. A mercy killing. Saddening, yet necessary. Well written as usual, Gavla.
  20. Okay, sorry for not appearing much lately. Family ambushes and holidays. ...Family ambushes? Fambushes. Sure. Anyways, I'll see what I can do to get back up to date on this. @Terren: Your observer is already set to Terren. Unless you are reffering to the [Terren/Terra Nuva] thing, which is put there in case outsiders get confused. Don't worry about it.
  21. Merry christmas, one and all! I got a new laptop! Should be able to recover D3 files soon.

  22. Yeah, I've got enough info for yours.
  23. The blue one works very well, nice job. I think that's the one we should use. Also: Each observer has their own personal dimension they usually stay in when watching over their timelines. Describe Previncus' dimension please, as well as his personality / his attuned powers. For instance, Vee's dimension can be seen in my avatar/sig/etc, and his power affinities are Time and Light.
  24. Blue, gray and yellow seems like it might be interesting. Give it a go.
  25. Your jetpack launches early and flies off into space, never to be seen again. I wish for a tree.
