1. Nope. The person below me has a phobia of some sort (I mean a serious phobia, not just being afraid of something that has a phobia version of it, if you know what I am getting at).
2. Not sure. The person below me has gone into a skid on ice/snow while driving.
3. I read about this earlier today, but you have beaten me to posting it. Bungie goes really deep into these sorts of things so it does not surprise me that it went this far back. They also said that we have not found all the easter eggs yet, or so I remember, not that they will tell us, mind you.
4. Interestingly enough the person who made the image of Luna in that theme goes by the name "Karzahnii", I wonder if he/she ever goes here. If anyone wants the background image by itself, the link is in the info page for the theme itself, if you do not have chrome and still want it, http://oi48.tinypic.com/11cgsbd.jpg]here it is.
5. I liked this week's episode, though I was technically right to an extent when I said that [spoiler, highlight to see] Trixie's actions were being controlled by the necklace, in a sense. For another brony thing, there is a group (with an account on both facebook and that certain video site) called FOB Equestria. They are bronies who are also in the Military, they do a lot of stuff, but what I like so far are the militarized images of ponies that they make, their website is http://www.fobequestria.com/]here. Oh and here is their Mission, right from their website. I would suggest reading it, it's quite touching. Their website/accounts are pretty nice too and I recommend those as well. In other stuff, anyone who has Google Chrome, they do have MLP themes that you can use to customize it. I bring this up because I don't recall anyone bringing it up here, but I would think most characters have at least one, I have a Luna one for instance and it is really nice. Just in case any of this is of interest to anyone here anyway.
6. Let me tell you guys a story. Once upon a time there was a certain web series named Teens React To..., and they did a My Little Pony episode. Needless to say the reaction from most of the teens there was negative. But why am I telling you this? Because a very special group of bronies disagreed with them...
7. I'm not sure paranoia and insomnia would count as traits, but more what comes from the stalking, appearing from nowhere, then leaving without a trace, etc. Also, this is Marble Hornets specific variation, I woudn't say that all of these are general Slendy traits. Actually the Slenderman wiki confirms that these are general traits used in quite a few Slenderman works. Paranoia and insomnia are disorders, and I think they meant it in the disorder sense, not the general feeling of a mere sleepless night or the feeling of being watched. Tim (I use Marble Hornets as an example a lot as it is the ARG that I follow the most) has these to a genuine disorder level. Oh and there is also "The Sickness". Which is nausea, coughing, and the occasional coughing up blood, it would appear that medication does not stop it either. Often this is a warning that he is around, though you can also get it from staring at him too long.
8. Already been rickrolled before. The person below me kills teh aleinz and doesn't afraid of anything.
9. Wish Granted, but the other soul was already owned by someone else, so you go to the burning brimstone place and lose the soul upon death. I wish I was in Valhalla.
10. Wish granted, but you are killed after you get bored and do a demon summoning wrong. I wish for an elixir.
11. Indeed, otherwise most positive emotions and feelings would be meaningless without melancholy or other similar feelings and emotions. It is also great for inspiring a great deal of creative thoughts and ideas. Among a long list of other things. The person below me defines their life by their misery and tribulations.
12. Nope. The person below me will personify a night terror or similar for fun or writing.
13. You beat me to making this thread, oh-well, I'll ad some stuff to it. First off, there is more then one Slenderman game, I recommend these as well. Slender's Woods: It is either called that or something similar, but it is an attempt to make a sort of Slender game with more of a story of a guy who wanted to escape his life troubles in the old house he lived in as a kid. This house is deep in the woods as you would probably expect, and one of your last objectives is very surprising. Haunt (The Real Slender Game): This is actually very well done for a free game. For what it is the graphics are incredible and the atmosphere is even better, with dense fog. Unlike the typical games, Slenderman will move regardless of whether or not you are looking at him, and the amount of notes you collect depend on the difficulty. There is something of a plot to this one too, sort of, the notes tell a story of someone who I presume you are looking for (have not played too much of it yet). There are also extras like photos of the person who entered before you and the like (though this person does not appear to be your average joe, at least if his shadow, letters, and what he leaves behind are anything to go by). Last is that your flash light will require batteries on any difficulty that is above "noob" (you also won't find any extras there either). As for Slenderman traits, there are still more that are not mentioned, such as: -Causing paranoia, insomnia, and pantiphobia (in some cases), and memory loss in victims. -Is said to have some telekinetic and pyrokinetic abilities. -Can created "Hallowed Ones", also referred to as "Maskys", which are people who are presumeably under the control of Slenderman to an extent, they also wear masks and have no memories of their actions when they "return to normal". -Mind Control, to varying extents, similar to the last points, though some people theorize that he can't completely dominate you immediately, the more he is around you, the stronger his ability to influence/control your becomes. Minor things are as simple as influencing decisions to erasing memories, more drastic things are like what was mentioned in the previous point. -Cameras will have poor picture display and/or audio quality on playback if Slenderman is nearby while it is turned on. -In some interpretations, Slenderman does have a face, though you can only see it if you become more insane, and that staring at him too long will cause insanity. This goes with a theory that what you think Slenderman looks like is not what he really looks like, but rather the closest thing your mind can come to when it observe him, hence the insanity part when your stare at him too long. -He can also make a location "supernatural" through some unknown process. It can cause a variety of eldritch things to happen, the most notable feature is that it will appear to be night time in this location regardless of the time and weather conditions around it. Also, is anyone else into Marble Hornets here? Entry #65 recently came out, if anyone did see it...
14. Love that song U.N. Owen Was Her, are you a Touhou player by chance?
15. I plan on updating this thread, assuming no one else does before I get to, if it does not die.
16. I say this here because Halo is related to Bungie, anyway Project Destiny details are out now.
17. I just found some leaked information on Bungie's Project Destiny game from Wired, which lead me to a nice video on IGN, and the information was confirmed by Bungie to be accurate as well. Here are the details.Plot (Paraphrased quote)It is 700 years into the future on the last city on Earth in a solar system littered with the remains of man's golden age. A massive alien ship hangs overhead like a second moon, no one knows where it came from or why it's here, only that it's "our protector". Meanwhile, another alien race comes from "the edges of the universe" to come and take earth and the last city. "We are young knights, tasked with defending the remains of humanity, discovering the source of these monsters, and eventually overcome it." The massive alien ship is referred to as "The Traveler".Bungie is making the game to be fun and accessible to all, "aiming to make the universe as deep, tangible, and relateable as that of the Star Wars franchise". Jason Jones (Bungie's Co-Founder) said: "Destiny is designed for your inner seven year old. We want to make it feel like a mythic adventure."GameplayDescribed as "social at it's core, offering a world to explore with friends both old and new." Though we are still not 100% certain if the game is an MMO (as statement Bungie later called "a joke").Release InformationAlong with a Destiny Logo, there were also Xbox 360 and PS3 Icons, there is also a url for "Destiny.com" which is currently password protected.Leaked Court documents talked about 4 installments in the Destiny series, with the released dates planned to be:Fall 2013201520172019In 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2020, DLC known now as "Comet" are said to be planned. The contract also said that the first game would be released on Xbox 360 and it's successor (the contract calls it the Xbox 720), releases on PS3, PS4, and PC are said to be planned in the years following.Concept Art.Destiny LogoThe Traveler and the CityThe New MonstersThe KnightsAn Derelict BuildingThe Traveler In OrbitAnother Shot Of The Traveler In OrbitMore Derelict BuildingsA Massive WallKnights In A Force-Field Or SortsAnother Knight Giving CommandsA Space FleetSome Knights Ambushing The New Monsters.Other Bungie NewsBungie's contract also mentioned that it is allowed to put 5% of their workforce towards another Marathon game, I certainly find that idea exciting as a fan of that series.
18. This is kind of difficult with the number of writers Star Wars has had, each one will portray things to a different level. I also don't recall a time when I was observing Star Wars media and my Willing Suspension of Disbelief was broken (and I am talking in respect to in-universe rules and such), I would also like to point out that like WSOD, Rule of Cool, and the like are subjective tropes...
19. Nope. The person below me has an addiction of sorts.
20. That may be, and even though it is fun to look at in-universe justification, the ultimate reason is probably Rule Of Cool, and even then you also have another problem and that is the number of writers that make content for the Star Wars universe over a span of 30 years, contradictions or inconsistencies are bound to happen. But I ultimately find that I am still entertained when they use things like Rule Of Cool and the like, at least here, what with execution and subjectivity and all.
21. For all intents and purposes, I go by the MST3K Mantra for stuff like this, if you don't know what it is it is this:""It's just a show; I should really just relax."Line from the theme song of Mystery Science Theater 3000, which encourages the viewer to not worry about picayune details that are unnecessary to the enjoyment of the program. Sometimes referred to as Hodgson's Law, after Joel Hodgson, MST3K creator ."-"That Trope Site."Not that I won't look at things like this in a critical lens at all, but doing flips with a lightsaber in robes just looks more entertaining. Though I will point out that in that picture, Obi-wan is blocking projectiles, and later blocks blaster bolts in that same show just a little later. Force Barrier is another version of that, but seemingly more powerful, and it's use seems to depend on the writer more often then not, though wider use of armor, shields, and force powers is far more common in the Old Republic era than anything else, and that actually seems pretty logical to me, all things considered.@ Bas, Plot armor, while a valid criticism, is pretty common in fiction now-a-days, and whether it is used depends more on the writer then anything else, it also never helped Chewie, Anakin Solo, or Mara-Jade Skywalker to name a few, ultimately I would point to the quote up top for my take on this.
22. Not sure if we can link to the Wookieepedia, but it is called Force Deflection. It says that relying on a lightsaber is easier, but not necessary. Not only is it used there, but Darth Vader uses it in the main trilogy and it is a low level force power in KOTOR 2.
