  1. To be fair, he did not say why he did not wish to read Dawkins, so before we think he is merely "close minded" it could be that he simply is not a fan of Dawkins himself, rather then the world view he is known for, though of course only Zar can answer that question.
  2. Those laws seem like they could work within the community, we just need them to catch on.
  3. I have already had existential crises, but I have at the least removed a lot of their potency with certain realizations, though they still happen from time to time. The person below me is fascinated by suicide.
  4. Wait, is this the technical definition (completely lacks a biological gender) or the somewhat newer one in-line with the trend of having a name for everything (lacks interest/does not express interest in romantic relationships)?Well in Marathon, The Security Officer is male, but has no visible reproductive organs (or at least that is how he was "made", and this is according to a terminal you find in game) though is most definitely male in every other regard. He also lacks a sexual drive because of this.In Halo this was a side effect of the augmentation procedures given to the SPARTAN II program, though I am not 100% certain about SIIIs, it seems to have been removed with the SIVs, (seeing as Demarco will flirt with Sarah Palmer, at least in the first episode of Spartan Ops). However it is stated with spartans that despite this effect, they are not aromantic and are still capable of having children, as the side effect will effect each individual at different levels, or so I remember.
  5. Nope. The person below me is one of those people who has nothing to do, and they end up thinking about things that one "should avoid", and usually avoids them through occupying themselves, even if they do not know this/these existed when they were looking for things to do at the time, not until you begin to think about them anyway (If yes, then welcome to the club).
  6. Now for more.-The protagonists of Bungie's Marathon and Halo (some) were asexual.
  7. I find that sanity is stagnant, what with it being so common. The person below me will sometimes fall asleep mid day, and forget what happened earlier that day.
  8. That would probably explain it since I have invested no money in the game at all.
  9. BIG TIME, and I could make an entire post saying why, but that is something I may go into later. The person below me believes that traits like violence and hatred, etc are part of human nature.
  10. Same, though I do hope that we get to hear from Stacker and Buck, it would be awesome to have Nathan Fillian back in the games. As some of you may know, I am also a Marathon fan, and when browsing around the dedicated Marathon Story site, I found some stuff about Halo, the early Halo. Most of this information is from 1999 to 2000, if any one is interested in reading them, they are quite interesting.Halo TransmissionsCortana LettersOfficial Halo BackstoryThe original intentions here are interesting, I also remember references to the Cortana Letters in Halo 3. Also Cortana appears to have had an email address among other things. It is cortana@jpl.nasa.gov.
  11. Nope. The person below me is into good free games (like Slender, TF2, the SCP games, etc.).
  12. Derpy!Ninja'd The Skeleton demon has come with a forlorning and unfortunate prediction.
  13. Those of us on the Halo and Xbox threads here usually exchange gamertags and play almost daily, if you are interested.
  14. Hey guys, something is wrong with my trade system, every time I select my TF2 inventory, the option says that I have 45 items, but when selected it says that I have nothing tradeable, which I know is wrong. Pressing F5 does not work either, anyone have any advice?
  15. Well, unless they are from some story, then I would say that they are from the Abrahamic Theology as having "-el" at the end of your name means "of God", and such a thing is used at the end of a lot of angel names. But right or wrong I know nothing about them otherwise.Ninja'd: Not sure what that is off the top of my head, would not be surprised if I have heard it but simply did not know at the time. The person below me knows who Azrael is.
  16. @ J46 Nui, I have Halo PC and I think I have custom edition installed too, I probably wouldn't mind joining some games with you, though I will probably suck at the PC version, or at least suck worse. As for Turahk, I have not played the level in a while, is there a plasma pistol nearby? If not then try ripping off the turret and hiding behind cover, very simple and probably ineffectual but I felt like I should say something...
  17. Philosopher time."The stream of knowledge is heading towards a non-mechanical reality; the Universe begins to look more like a great thought than like a great machine. Mind no longer appears to be an accidental intruder into the realm of matter... we ought rather hail it as the creator and governor of the realm of matter."-Sir James Jean“Philosophy begins in wonder. And, at the end, when philosophic thought has done its best, the wonder remains.”-Alfred North Whitehead"Life is not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced."-Soren Kierkegaard"Cynics regarded everybody as equally corrupt...Idealists regarded everybody as equally corrupt, except themselves."-Unknown"You can tell whether a man is clever by his answers. You can tell whether a man is wise by his questions."-Naquib Mahfouz"Never hesitate to ask a lesser person."-Confucius"Immorality: The Morality of those who are having a better time."-Henry Louis Mencken"The most merciful thing in the world...is the inability of the human mind to correlate all it's contents."-HP Lovecraft"We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far."-HP Lovecraft"Fear is the oldest and strongest emotion of mankind."-HP Lovecraft"That is not dead which can eternal lie, yet with stranger aeons, even Death may die."-HP Lovecraft

  19. “You see things; and you say, 'Why?' But I dream things that never were; and I say, 'Why not?'”

  20. I do think they are overrated in quite a few instances, but I still like them. The person below me needs to see this, now.
  21. I have been trying to get Spartan Slayer too, forgot my ranking so far but I take it you are also trying to get CIO armor?
  22. Well, if you mean the realistic way then I technically am one already, but if you mean the x-men way then it would kind of be cool, but I am not that into x-men, and the power you get could suck...not sure. The person below me has had a life-threatening injury before.
