Rating someone based on their looks is not the only variable you suggested in your original entry. Even if that was what you were suggesting, that's a big problem unto itself. Also, if I interpreted the entry different than you intended, that is not my problem. I saw nothing overtly humorous in the entire entry. It all looked very serious to me, and I'm not the only one who interpreted it that way. If you want it to be recognized as a joke, maybe put a "/s" or a little note at the bottom so that people who don't know you or people that don't regularly read your blog don't have to leave its meaning to their own interpretation.

Why do you claim to write this entry in 'humor' and then continue on with defending the point of the original entry? Rating someone is on the same concept as putting people in "good" and "bad" categories. If you average out anyone's actions, appearance, personality, intentions, etc and then dismiss someone as that number, you get a number that probably says nothing about that person. To use an example that you used, say there's a single mother that abused her children. Now that's obviously a bad thing, but take into consideration her most likely abusive upbringing and probable drug and drug addiction. You can't fault her for being abused as a child, and the drug/alcohol addiction was probably a result of that upbringing and childhood, and possible peer pressure or other situatuonal factors. Ultimately, ff she tries to do the right thing but her reality has been so skewed by those factors, does that make her a "bad" person? Should she deserve a bad rating because of things that were more or less out of her control? I personally find that if you look for the potential in someone, then you can see the world from a less cynical way.

I have to agree with this =/There's so much more to people than their actions, looks, background, personality, etc etc that you can't just boil it down to and dismiss the entirety of someone as a number

I finally got caught up on work after sustaining an illness for 14 days this semester, my high school had its winter concert tonight, and to top it off, it snowed! For the first time in 2 years Now all that's left are finals...

Missed that one, I guess =/ In my defense, I don't think I've rated any song 0 and not given any reason for it (with the exception of the one several posts above). I looked back 15 pages just to be sure. If I did though, (again in my defense) I definitely am not the only one who has done that. 2/5 the beginning chords were nice and relaxing. The vocals seemed a little forced. The sudden mood changes were jarring, and the rating would've been higher if they were eased into more.

For the record, I went back and looked at some of my posts in this topic, and none of them really say that metal is not music. I listen to the entirety of every song and do my very best to constructively criticize it, though that may not succeed every time. Metal, in my opinion, is a developed taste and sometimes literally all I am able to get out of it is that it sounds the same to any other metal songs that I've heard. (Someone could easily say the same about my musical taste, as well. I listen to a lot of jazz, which could easily sound boring and not unique to people who don't listen to a lot of it.) That being said, I apologize to anyone I've offended in this topic. I post in this topic more to see what other people think of the music I listen to, and I will try to be more thoughtful in my ratings as well (or just outright avoid posting at all). With all that out of the way, (rating of Queen of Liars's song) 4.5/5 I really like this, believe it or not. The beginning lays down a solid baseline, and the vocalists are pretty good (the second one could be a bit less raspy), and all the instrumental combination at the climax really ties together. I might actually have to listen to more of this. [edit- ninja'd. rating of Johny Truant's song] 2/5 seems a bit lacking with just instrumental. the melody is ok.

I am entitled to my own opinion, I believe. I personally can't stand that type of music. Others may disagree, and that's perfectly fine. Anyhoo, edit- durr, forgot to rate the song. 1.5/5

iirc, the way I did it is evolve the symptoms to total organ failure once everyone is infected. It's probably different for fungus, but I didn't play far enough to see.
