  1. did not expect niidak to get a good ending, all thanks to some random guy making a portal anyways how am i supposed to satiate my bionicle roleplaying needs now? there better be another game soon
  2. IC: Niidak (Irnakk’s Tooth/The Taku) It seemed the day kept getting stranger. Sometimes Niidak wondered if she was still asleep and this was all a dream. A strange person appeared and disappeared, but not before delivering a message. A message of hope and salvation. And a gateway of redemption. Everything else around her lost its relevance when she understood what had happened. Her mind was overcome by memories of happier times, of her past life, of the roaring engines of industry on Xia. Her home. She was going home, and no one would stop her. She pointed the ship at the portal and immediately accelerated towards it. Nothing else in the world mattered to her now, besides the portal. @Tarn @BULiK
  3. IC: Niidak (Irnakk’s Tooth/The Taku) She turned around the ship to get away from the volcano faster. Thus the island came into view of the bridge. Sea levels had fallen, and sunken lands were dry again. ”...Yes, I have, seems there’s plenty of places to go to.” She almost rolled her eyes when Arnex called the ship home. This wasn’t Xia. Nothing could rival Xia. ”I doubt we can go where we want. Do you have any idea where the Commander and Captain are? Do they need us?” @Tarn
  4. IC: Niidak (Irnakk’s Tooth/The Taku) As soon as the ramp was shut, Niidak began to reverse with the ship as fast as possible, to get away from the volcano and the beast. All the crew members were on board, and the rest of the suicide squad didn’t matter, she guessed. ”So um, where next, Captain?” She had a strange feeling that the world was about to end. @Tarn
  5. IC: Niidak (Irnakk’s Tooth/The Taku) She frowned in disbelief, then narrowed her optics and looked closer at the giant beast. That was, indeed, Berys, somehow still alive. ”Don’t tell me we have to fly closer to retrieve him,” she said with a groan. ”If you do tell that, then I demand triple pay.” Triage told her that, so she flew up again. As they approached and got closer, the monster appeared even larger. ”Make that quadruple pay.” @BULiK @Tarn @Smudge8
  6. IC: Niidak (Irnakk’s Tooth/The Taku) The acting captain was on board, but Niidak wasn’t sure about the rest of the suicide squad, so she let the ramp remain open for a little longer. While she waited, Triage came to the bridge. She thought the words ’Berys is inside the volcano’ would’ve been followed by ’and is dead’, but the Toa was interrupted. For a moment, Niidak thought the volcano was erupting, before she saw the giant monster. Clearly, the suicide squad must’ve awakened some terrible evil. ”Should I, uuh, close the ramp and get us out of here, or what?” @BULiK @Tarn
  7. IC: Niidak (Irnakk’s Tooth/The Taku) Niidak would’ve breathed a sigh of relief if a terrible roar didn’t echo from the mountain. Not only that, but she still had to fly closer to the cliffs, close enough for people to hop on board. She pressed a button which she guessed would open the ramp, took a deep breath and slowly guided the ship closer. Triage was already waving to them. More terrifying noises came from above. She had a bad feeling about this. @BULiK @Tarn
  8. IC: Niidak (Irnakk’s Tooth/The Taku) ”Alright, I think I see it,” Niidak said absentmindedly, focusing more on trying to keep the ship from crashing into the mountain. She was grateful to have a co-pilot, as without them she was certain they would’ve already crashed. ”I think I see Acting Captain Triage, too? Should we uh, land?” she asked, hoping the answer wouldn’t be yes. Landing with a ship this large would be much harder than taking off with it. @BULiK @Tarn
  9. IC: Niidak (Irnakk’s Tooth/The Taku) She hadn’t expected to actually succeed in starting the engines, but that was the easy part. Next she’d have to actually get the ship flying and steer it. ”Any idea who and where? Should we just fly up the mountainside and look for the source of the transmission?” Asking the questions was just a way to delay things while she figured out how to make the vessel get off the ground. Soon she did, and it began to ascend. @BULiK
  10. OOC: better late than never IC: Niidak (Irnakk’s Tooth/The Taku) She always expected the worst, and was rarely disappointed. Apparently contact with the suicide squad had been lost, and for all they knew they were burning alive inside the volcano. She sighed. ”I took the job of a mechanic, not a pilot. But I should be able to figure it out as I go. I better get paid extra for this.” Somewhat reluctantly she sat down next to the other volunteer pilot and studied the controls. It took her a while to figure out what each button and lever did, and even then she wasn’t fully certain. She tried turning on the ship’s engines, the ones she had installed. The radio burst to life all of a sudden, broadcasting strange noises. ”What’s that? Doesn’t sound like static.” @BULiK@Vezok's Friend
  11. IC: Niidak (Irnakk’s Tooth/The Taku) She woke up from a nightmare. Already, it was fading from her memory, but she had an overwhelming feeling of dread. All she could recall was an eternity of exile from Xia, being stuck on this Karzahni’s island forever. Yet there was also an uncanny feeling of foreign presence, like as if the nightmare... had intruded into her mind from the outside, somehow. She got up from the bed and wondered how long she had slept. Had the suicide squad returned from their mission? Or were there no news at all? Which likely meant they weren’t coming back. To get her answers, she headed straight to the bridge. Strange music was coming from there as she entered, and there were quite a few people there. Yet Niidak’s optics focused only on Arnex. ”Hey, what’s the situation? Has the captain returned? How long was I asleep, anyways? It felt like an eternity.” She nervously glanced at the mountain outside the bridge’s window. ”I don’t know why, but I feel like we should get out of here as soon as possible.” OOC: @BULiK and everyone else at the bridge
  12. IC: Niidak (Irnakk’s Tooth/The Taku) ”I don’t have other ideas besides taking a nap, ma’am, so I’ll just go do that. If something breaks, wake me up.” She somewhat mockingly saluted the Matoran and headed off to the crew quarters, which she hadn’t actually visited yet. There she claimed an unoccupied bunk bed and lied down on it. As she did so, she realized that she didn’t even remember the last time she had slept in a proper bed. It reminded her of home. When she soon fell asleep, it was therefore not surprising that she dreamt of her past life in Xia. She smiled as she slept. @BULiK
  13. IC: Niidak (Irnakk's Tooth/The Taku) She wasn't particularly thrilled about having a puny matoran as her superior again. "Well, got any orders then? If not, I suppose I'll go take a nap or something." @BULiK
  14. IC: Niidak (Irnakk’s Tooth/The Taku) She saw that it wasn't just this Ulkarr person they were taking along, but a whole squad of people. The small vessel now seemed rather cramped, and Berys said that he was indeed simply dropping them off. No suicide mission, unfortunately. "In that case, I'll stay behind. Good luck, I guess. Try not to break the ship so I won't need to fix it." She watched the airship depart and wondered if she'd see it again. After it was gone, she turned to Arnex. "So, who's in command while they're gone?" @BULiK
  15. IC: Niidak (Irnakk’s Tooth/The Taku) Niidak had no idea who Ulkarr was, but it sounded like the Taku was merely transporting some foolhardy would-be heroes who wanted to end the threat of the monsters. She wondered what the point of it was, as soon the entire island would be beneath the waves anyways. She followed Berys into the cargo bay as he prepared a smaller vessel for takeoff. "So... we're just dropping off this Ulkarr into the volcano to do their thing? Or are you planning to take part in... neutralizing the monster threat? Depending on the answer, I might come along to make sure this ship of yours remains able to fly." Besides, this was an excellent excuse to go on a suicide mission. @BULiK
  16. IC: Niidak (Irnakk’s Tooth/The Taku) The journey was uneventful, but Niidak no longer felt sleepy like before. So instead of resting, she spent the time tinkering with her new machine gun, improving upon its design. Now it not only looked better, but had a lower chance of jamming or breaking apart. As she was putting her finishing touches on the gun, she was once again startled by Berys’ voice echoing through the loudspeakers. Apparently, only a part of the crew was heading inside a volcano, which was sensible. But she still didn’t know why, and was curious to find out. Therefore she stood up and headed to the cargo bay. On the way, she saw Berys who appeared to be going the same direction. She tapped him on the shoulder from behind to get his attention and asked ”What exactly are you going to do at the volcano? Or is it confidential information that fresh meat such as myself don’t need to know about?” @BULiK
  17. IC: Niidak (Tobduk-Koro/The Taku) She stayed for a little while to listen to the conversation between the two Matoran, as she also wanted to know where they were going in such a hurry. When she heard that they were headed inside the volcano which apparently was the nest of the giant monsters, she simply sighed. The ship would probably get damaged again and she’d have to end up helping with the repairs, if they’d even make out of it alive. All of a sudden being a crew member on a combat vessel seemed like a foolish idea. She didn’t particularly care about her destiny however, so she simply accepted it. Dying in a volcano or a monster attack seemed preferable to being killed by Untethered, anyways. On the bright side of things, the ship was a lot emptier now, so she quickly claimed a free seat. Even though she wasn’t sitting on the floor this time, she still used her pillow. It was proving to be quite comfortable.
  18. OOC: aaaaaa stop posting so fast IC: Niidak (Tobduk-Koro) She took the Toa's gun. It looked even worse now that she could see it up close. But it appeared to be functional, and that's all that mattered, really. Besides, she could easily make it better. Berys' voice suddenly came out of the ship's loudspeakers, which startled her again and almost made her drop the weapon. She quickly regained her composure however and turned to look at the strangers. "Well, sounds like I have to go. Pleasure doing business with you." She gave the engine one last check before heading back inside the ship. It was a shame they were leaving so soon, as she would've liked to do more trading with the locals. But orders are orders, and she didn't want to lose her job so quickly. As she ascended the ramp, she saw Arnex again. "Hey, I checked the engines," she told her. "You can tell the Captain we're good to go, I suppose." @Toru Nui@BULiK
  19. IC: Niidak (Tobduk-Koro) She had always cared little for the primitive tools of the Toa, being more focused on channeling elemental power than unleashing raw destructive potential like Vortixx weaponry. The gun was more interesting to her, mostly in how crude it was. It must've taken effort to make something so ugly. Already, she was thinking how she could improve upon its design. "I don't care for your... secretions, but I'll accept the gun and the bullets in exchange for the mask. I prefer ranged weapons to close combat weapons, anyhow." She offered him the mask. "You can have this, then. It saved my life, but I don't get attached to objects." Though these days she didn't get attached to anything else either. @Toru Nui
  20. IC: Niidak (Tobduk-Koro) She rolled her eyes and already regretted saying that she accepted anything in return. ”Well, I don’t really have anything for you to do... what about weapons, have you got any spare ones? I have a spear, a dagger and a disk launcher without disks... they’re not really good enough. This island is dangerous, you know.” She thought about her earlier encounter with the Untethered in the Junk Fields, and how she had to run away from them. Would’ve been easier if she could’ve just blasted them to pieces or something. @Toru Nui
  21. IC: Niidak (Tobduk-Koro) As she was doing her final engine inspection, a familiar face approached her. "Oh, hello there. Yes, I remember you. I also remember you weren't the friendliest customer, but I am glad to hear you've reconsidered my offer." She reached into her satchel and pulled out her Kanohi Miru. "Here it is, still in mostly pristine condition. I accept anything in return, not just widgets. What have you got?" She found it mildly amusing how she was now working at the airship which he had told her to visit. She then turned to look down at the matoran. "You asked where the Commander is? Didn't quite hear you. Anyways, he left the ship before we left Ko-Pou. Don't know where he went, exactly." @Toru Nui
  22. IC: Niidak (Tobduk-Koro/The Taku) As the ship touched the ground and its hull shook, Niidak woke up. She almost fell asleep again before she heard Triage's announcement, which loudly echoed inside the ship. For a brief moment she was alarmed by waking up in an unfamiliar place, but quickly remembered where she was. She pushed herself up and groaned. It had been a while since she had properly slept, and now she wished the flight had lasted longer. However, her own wellbeing was a secondary concern. She decided to check the ship's engines and see if they were still fully operational after the journey. On the way outside, she passed by Arnex and nodded a greeting to her as she descended the ramp. She had never been to Tobduk-Koro before, so she took a look at the village. It appeared smaller than Kini-Koro which did not surprise her. The sandy desert landscape did seem far less hospitable than the lush valley of Kini-Koro. Yet now, the village was filled with refugees from there. She wondered if there was enough food and other supplies for everyone before realizing she didn't care. She closely inspected the engines one by one. Despite having been created out of thin air, they still appeared to function properly. OOC: open for interaction while she's outside the ship i guess @Toru Nui your gang can ask her about the captain for example
  23. IC: Niidak (The Taku) Niidak snored aboard the ship while all kinds of important plot events were taking place below.
  24. IC: Niidak (Ko-Pou/The Taku) She turned away from her sunken hoverbike and headed back to the Taku. Already, she could hear the Le-Matoran’s voice echoing throughout the rapidly emptying outpost, and see various individuals headed to the airship. As she approached it, she noted the landing gear were retracted, so they had been installed properly. That machine was quite capable at repairs. She was happy this island didn’t have more of them to make her own skills obsolete. She climbed aboard, being one of the last to enter, and looked for an unoccupied seat. Unfortunately, due to being so full of refugees she couldn’t find any. Yet fortunately, she still had that cushion she had found in the Junk Fields. She took it out of her satchel, placed it on the floor and sat down on it. It was rather small, being designed to be used by Matoran, but it was better than nothing. She leaned back against the airship’s wall and relaxed. Perhaps this was the beginning of a new chapter in her life? Or maybe the engines she had repaired would malfunction and they’d crash-land and die. She was fine with either.
