  1. IC: Niidak (Relic Fields) Turns out she was right: This place was indeed attracting attention. At least she was among the first to explore it. However, when she heard the words "League of Six Kingdoms" she frowned. Once, they had been good customers of hers. But she had heard rumours that they were responsible for the calamity that destroyed Metru-Nui and caused everyone to crash land on this Mata-Nui-forsaken island. If those rumours were true, then they'd be the ones who had ruined her entire life. She wondered if the League member could answer some questions. Aside from that, this unexpected arrival was a good thing. "An airship? Sounds like he can haul her to safety, then," she said to the stranger who was still taking care of the Toa. "Maybe you should go along with them too, and make sure she will be fine? If I were you, I wouldn't fully trust any member of the League, unless you're willing to pay well." It was a good opportunity to get everyone else out of the picture so she could finally scavenge the ruins in peace.
  2. IC: Niidak (Relic Fields) "Oh, yes, I could look around and try to find something," she said, seeing a golden opportunity to search for valuables. She was startled when yet another voice could be heard. For being an abandoned ruin, this place sure attracted a lot of visitors. She guessed she wasn't the only one who was exploring the strange structures that had appeared out of nowhere. Either that, or it was the voice of one of the Toa's "friends". She readied her knife, just in case. Her spear was hanging from a strap on her shoulder, and she was considering wielding it instead. But first, she'd wait to see if the another stranger was a friend or foe.
  3. IC: Niidak (Relic Fields) Niidak was at first taken aback by the emotional backlash. Why did he care so much for this Toa? Perhaps he already knew her personally. She said nothing as he spoke and took care of the Toa, letting him do what he wanted. Again, it seemed like he knew what he was doing, so Niidak was surprised to hear the request for a doctor. ”A village?” she repeated with a chuckle. ”This isn’t exactly a densely populated region. The nearest ’settlement’ is Metru-Koro, and that place is both abandoned and cursed. I doubt I can find anyone there, let alone a doctor. And if I go further, by the time I get back she’ll be dead.” This smelled like a plot to get her out of the picture so the stranger could scavenge the tower by himself. But she was here first, so all the scrap in here was rightfully hers, and she wouldn’t simply let go of it. Or maybe he was just desperately trying to save her life.
  4. IC: Niidak (Relic Fields) ”Well, she went to sleep it seems. Still think she’s not going to be waking up?” Niidak muttered to the stranger as she held the unconscious Toa. She pushed her back to lean against the wall and put the bandage back to where it had slipped off, placing pressure on the wound again. ”She seems like a lost cause, to be honest. But what was she talking about? Who is Buddy and what do they have? Perhaps her mask?” Niidak still held the knife in her other hand. ”I can put her out of her misery if you want, by the way.” OOC: @BULiK
  5. IC: Niidak (Relic Fields) Niidak raised an eyebrow as the stranger took off his own mask and placed it on the Toa’s face. She wasn’t sure if he was a Toa himself, though he did resemble one. Perhaps he’d be fine without a mask? Either that, or he was foolishly risking falling unconscious. In the back of her mind, her old self thought of ways to take advantage of him if that were to happen, but she quickly pushed such ideas away. Stranger still, he seemed to be well prepared to take care of her injuries. So well prepared, in fact, that she was now even more suspicious of him than before. Nevertheless, she hesitantly obeyed his request, kneeling down next to the Toa, putting the bandage roll back into her satchel and then placing her hand on the wound. Her other hand still held the dagger, just in case. As the stranger spoke to the Toa, Niidak frowned. His brutish accent seemed vaguely familiar to her, as she had heard many different ones during her glory days of making business with all kinds of folk. Yet she was unable to recognize where he came from, at least for now.
  6. OOC: so hold on, you made a new character with medical skills and then immediately got him into a situation where he can use them? nice lol IC: Niidak (Relic Fields) Well, at least the Toa was still alive, somewhat. Niidak reached for her satchel with her free hand to unpack the medical supplies when a voice came from behind her. "We hafta stop 'er bleeding, pronto." She was immediately startled and swung around, pulling out her dagger and pointing it at the stranger. Only after this instinctive reaction did she actually realize what he had said. This made him sound like a friend rather than an enemy, but the timing was ominous. Where had he come from? Had he been hiding in the shadows and waiting for her to enter? Was this all part of an elaborate trap? Her dagger lowered yet she glared at the stranger with narrowed eyes. "Yes, we have to. I was able to realize that by myself, thank you." She plunged her other hand into her satchel and rummaged through it, pulling out a bandage roll. "If you intend to help, maybe you can go look for her mask," she muttered to the stranger. "I'm not an expert on Toa, but I know she either dies or goes unconscious again without it." OOC: @BULiK
  7. IC: Niidak (Relic Fields) Niidak narrowed her eyes as she gazed inside at the dying Toa. Briefly, she thought that as terrible her life had been, at least she wasn’t bleeding out on the floor in an abandoned building. Still suspecting it to be a trap, she pushed the door fully open and carefully entered the room, looking around herself. She was trying to see if there were any traps or ambushers in wait, while also wondering if the Toa’s missing mask was somewhere nearby. The worst case scenario was that whoever had almost killed the Toa was still around, and they would not be happy to see her. Her grip on her dagger’s handle tightened as she approached the Toa, wondering if she was still alive. Once she was several steps away from her, she stopped and decided to find out if the seemingly unconscious Toa was responsive to speech. ”...Hello? Are you still there?” OOC: @Unreliable Narrator
  8. IC: Niidak (Relic Fields) An injured person wasn't exactly what Niidak was expecting to find in the seemingly abandoned and uninhabited ruins. At first she was immediately skeptical, suspecting it to be a trap. How likely was it to find a fresh bloodstain just as she was exploring the ruins all alone, and to hear pained sounds coming from a room which she couldn't see? Not to mention that the room had to be reached via a stairway. Why would an injured person walk up the stairs and force themselves through a half-open door? Clearly it was just a ploy to make escape more difficult. Yet there was another voice inside her head besides the cynical one. The optimist reasoned that if there really was a hurt invididual in need of rescue, they would be in great debt if she would save their life. And if they were familiar with the ruins, perhaps they could show her the location of valuable scrap or even artifacts? There was potential profit in the situation, so she couldn't simply leave. Rather, she would take the risk and investigate. She placed her right hand on the handle of her sheathed dagger, took a deep breath and ascended the stairs. Once she reached the top, she peered inside the doorway, looking for the mysterious wounded individual. OOC: @Unreliable Narrator
  9. IC: Niidak (Relic Fields) While wandering the island in search of scrap to salvage and sell, Niidak heard rumours of a strange anomaly in the west. Structures had appeared out of thin air, but appeared like they had been there for years. Not only that, but they appeared similar to buildings that had once been in the bustling city of Metru-Nui. None had dared to actually go to the area, fearing possible side effects of the anomaly. But Niidak had nothing to lose, and potential wealth to gain. Why not go to this place that was known as the "Relic Fields"? It sounded like a treasure trove to her. After a day of travel, she arrived in the icy wastes near the remnants of her former "home" of Metru-Koro. On the way to the fields, she thought of visiting the place and trying to see if anything valuable had been left behind, but ultimately decided against it. She didn't want to bring back the memories of trying to survive in that glorified refugee camp, so she steered as far away from it as possible. She climed atop a grassless hill and surveyed her surroundings. The rumours were true, it seemed, albeit a part of her had doubted them. Even now, she suspected of seeing a mirage or an illusion. What else could explain these odd structures appearing out of nowhere? To prove herself wrong, she descended down into the fields and approached the ruins. There were many pillars and towers, all worn down and covered in foliage. She approached one of the giant ice spikes - which did look quite similar to those famous towers of Ko-Metru - and touched its surface with her claws. Indeed, it was not an illusion, as she felt her claws scrape the ice. She began to explore the ruins, looking for something worth salvaging. Yet despite having been proven wrong, the pessimist in her now believed that there was nothing to be found, and that the entire trip had been nothing but a waste of time and supplies. OOC: @Unreliable Narrator im assuming she either finds something or something finds her...
  10. Name: Niidak Breed: Vortixx Character Type: Player character Faction: Refugee Gender: Female Brief Description: Like other Vortixx, Niidak is tall and lanky. Most of her body is black, with some sections like her shoulder pads being coloured dark blue. Her eyes glow purple. She usually has a hunched posture, as if she is too weary to keep her body straight. The surface of her body is badly maintained, covered in scratches and soot. Background/Occupation: There was once a time when Niidak dared to dream. In a time which she feels was an eternity ago, she had a successful arms trading business, a mountain of wealth and even a loving companion, a rarity in Vortixx society. She reaped the profits of war by selling weapons to all sides. Life was good, but then calamity struck. She lost everything as she was on Metru Nui when it crash landed on Zakaz. She survived, and became a refugee living in the squalor of Metru-Koro. Demoralized, she sunk to a life of petty crime, stealing everything she needed to live and often getting into fights with others. Eventually, she was caught in the act and punished. During her imprisonment, she had time to reflect on her life, and decided to start anew, despite having no optimism left for the future. After her release, she became a scavenger, looking for scraps that had washed ashore from Mata-Nui's ruined head and assembling useful items out of them, or wandering on the mainland in search of valuable artifacts. She is poor, but earns enough to live on, albeit without greater purpose. Personality/Flaws: Niidak's life has made her cynical and dour, always expecting the worst. If the entire world were to end, she'd roll her eyes and accept her fate. Yet inside her is a remnant of her former self, too proud to simply give up entirely and always looking for a way to restore her own lost glory. She tries to avoid confrontation with others after her prison sentence, but will lash back if pushed far enough. Niidak's body is malnourised, unkempt and weak, but this doesn't dissuade her from fighting if necessary. Powers: Default Vortixx abilities (Technomancy). However, she does not wear a mask. Equipment: Niidak has a long spear she crafted from scrap which she uses for self-defence. It is a flexible beginner-friendly weapon that can be thrown at enemies or used in close combat. As a back-up weapon and a tool she has her trusty dagger. She often wears a hooded cape to protect herself from the elements. When travelling, she carries a satchel filled with food and healing supplies. She has scavenged and acquired various items recently: - A Kanohi Miru, found in the Relic Fields. Traded to Achro. - A Kanoka disk launcher, found in the Relic Fields. - A telescope, found in the Relic Fields and repaired by Kardaka. - A seismic pickaxe, given by Sidra. - An emergency kit, found in the Relic Fields. - An iStone, found in the Felic Rields. - A comfortable, colourful cushion, found in the Junk Fields. Utterly worthless. - A machine gun with armour-piercing rounds. Traded from Achro. Vehicle: Name of Vehicle: Unnamed Hoverbike Vehicle’s Faction: Refugee Owner of Vehicle: Niidak Physical Description: A scavenged Le-Metruan hoverbike, with a missing driver's seat and kick stand. It has some wear and tear on its surface, but functions well enough. Onboard Weapons/Defenses: None Status: Sunk beneath the waves of the ocean
  11. oh hey a new arc started, maybe i can hop in it’s not an issue if i havent played in the previous two arcs right?
  12. IC: Dartakh Soon after the two Toa had entered the tavern, Dartakh felt an overwhelming desire to leave. Something about the two just rubbed him the wrong way -- or it was simply the effects of the drink kicking in. Whatever the case, the comfortable warmth was now behind him, and he was trudging through freezing knee-deep snow, feeling a little tipsy. He was heading towards the general direction of Ko-Koro, or so he at least believed. If he was lost, then at least he finally had an excuse to lie down and freeze to death. Why did he even need an excuse? He shook his head and already missed the drinks of the tavern. But he refused to even consider going back. No, he had to keep moving, keep moving, albeit he had no idea why. That is what his life had been since he had come to this forsaken island. Living for the sake of living, killing for the sake of money, earning money for the sake of spending it, spending it for the sake of living. A complete lack of purpose, and complete inability to find any. Yet it had not always been so. But the past was lost to him. He finally reached the top of a ridge, and the climb through snow had even made him exhausted, despite his strength and stamina. Cold wind carried flakes of snow, blurring vision, but when he squinted his reptilian eyes, he could see the city of ice in the distance. It's almost like what looking into the past was like. He couldn't make out any details, only the shape. Then, the wind calmed down, and the snowflakes gently floated onto the rocky ground. Now he could see the city clearly: All its black scars, its pillars of smoke, its empty streets. Yet he could also see -- and hear -- sounds of battle. They were fighting over Ko-Koro, again. He didn't see much point in sacrificing lives for a dead husk of a city. But such was life on this island; endless fighting, endless struggle, endless pain, no everlasting triumph or peace. At this point, did either side really know what they were fighting for? Power. Wealth. Freedom. Servitude to a dead god. A combination of these, if any. But Dartakh cared for none of these. Wealth, if anything, though he only wanted wealth to keep himself alive. As long as he got paid, he would fight for anyone, good or evil. These people were fighting for such lofty purposes, yet he was fighting to stay alive, so he could fight, so he could stay alive. He felt like a Rahi, a beast trying to survive in a mad world. Who was he to say that the people were fighting for no good reason? He sat down in the snow, resting from the climb and watching the mayhem far away. Sure, there was money to be earned, but first he'd have to figure out why he needed to live. Figure out how to be more than a mindless Rahi.
  13. From what I’ve seen, it’s currently just my recently revived character who is in prison and will be out of there once the timeskip for the next arc takes place. And he’s out on his own, without a leader or fellow members.
  14. true, that's probably what i'll end up doing how will i fulfill my craving for rp now
  15. Ah yes, if you're in prison you can't get out no matter what you do. I now remember how my first character spent several irl months there before i abandoned him because apparently prisons are meant to be inescapable. No one has warned me against the prison break thing. I've only been told about having extended roleplay in the topic. "I was working up a PM to address the issue" It's been like a day, how long does it take to write a PM? the only ones i've received were from Forge and Gear. Apparently Forge did receive a PM from staff, which is weird because he didn't even start the whole thing. Whatever, speaking of PMs I will now take the roleplay to PMs.
  16. >want to get back into rp >the arc ends as soon as i reintroduce my characters >not allowed to have extended rp in wrap up topic, have to end as soon as possible i want to die
  17. IC: Sir Dahkapa (Ta-Koro Prison) "Alright, if you say so." He turned around and summoned his powers of ice to create a wall of frost blocking off the passage. He then continued to follow him. "If I remember right, we should turn to the left next, then head straight forward. Quick, before the patrolling guards hear us." He glanced at the cell doors as he passed by them, and noticed the glowing eyes behind bars. Part of him felt pity for them; but if they weren't followers of Ak'rei'an, why should he care? Besides, there wasn't enough time to set everyone free. They should only do so if they had to.
  18. IC: Sir Dahkapa (Ta-Koro Prison) As soon as he heard the Skakdi get out, Dahkapa mumbled a prayer to Ak'rei'an, thanking him for his divine aid, and asking him to protect him as he escaped. When the wall came crumbling down, Dahkapa instinctively tried to activate his Kanohi Hau, only to remember it had been replaced with a powerless one. "Impressive strength, even for a Skakdi," he muttered, and wondered if his strength had been somehow increased. Maybe he was just naturally that strong. Thankfully, the designers of this prison hadn't expected such might. "Time to go." He nodded. "Yes, and quickly. Lead the way, I can tell you where to go if need be, but you seem to be the stronger one so you should go first. May Ak'rei'an guide and protect us."
  19. OoC: Alright we got a bit carried away fine. We'll wrap it up in a couple of posts, calm down everyone. I just wanted to rp after 4 years alright ;n; IC: Sir Dahkapa (Ta-Koro Prison) "Well, it's been a while since I've eaten. But they don't serve food that often. They don't care too much for the prisoners' well-being. You should have an hour, optimistically." Indeed, his prediction was largely correct. Over half an hour would pass with no sign of additional guards coming to serve food. There was only one Toa patrolling the hallway; his occasional presence meant that it was a foolish idea to talk. Dahkapa hoped he wouldn't hear the Skakdi dismantling the door with his claws. Once the guard was far away, he said: "I hope you're done soon. I have a feeling they'll be serving food not long from now. Hurry up."
  20. IC: Sir Dahkapa (Ta-Koro Prison) "Toa of ice huh. That'll be pretty handy, blocking hallways and stalling the guards." "Yes, if I manage to get out of this cell, that is. It's proofed for elemental powers from the inside, I presume. Not that I have tried to use them." "Any idea where that armory is at?" Dahkapa squinted his eyes and tried to memorize Brontes arresting him. He had removed his mask and weapons, escorted him to the headquarters and given him in, when a powerless replacement mask was placed on his face. He vaguely remembered Brontes taking his warhammer and crossbow down a hallway. "Some idea. Not very exact, unfortunately. But if we manage to make our way into the lobby, I know the rough direction. My personal Kanohi mask is held there too, I assume." Briefly Dahkapa wondered if the other speaker was a burly Toa like he had suspected, and was also in need of his mask. "What species are you, if I may ask?"
  21. IC: Sir Dahkapa (Ta-Koro Prison) "Very well", Dahkapa said, and then heard the scratching of metal. He was going to try and dismantle the door, apparently. Dahkapa looked at his own cell door, made out of sturdy protosteel. Briefly he considered doing the same as him, before realizing he had no idea how. He hadn't even seen a cell door before coming here, and he wasn't much of an expert on doors anyhow. It seemed his duty would be that of a patient look-out. Thankfully, he was a patient person. He sat down on the floor and crossed his legs. "So this'll take a while to get right, so in the mean time you can tell me what you are and how much you know your way around a fight." "I am a Toa of Ice, and have been for many years. As the guardian of Ko-Koro" -- he winced as images of his burning home city flashed in his mind -- "I honed my fighting skills as much as I honed my mind. Usually, I use a warhammer and a crossbow, but unfortunately both were taken from me as I was imprisoned. But unarmed combat is not unfamiliar to me."
  22. IC: Sir Dahkapa (Ta-Koro Prison) Dahkapa nodded, not that the gesture could be seen. It was a foolhardy and risky idea. Almost guaranteed to fail. But what else was there? Besides, perhaps it was a good idea in the end. For all Dahkapa knew, the other prisoner had been imprisoned before, and possibly had even escaped, and thus knew how to do it again. Even if that wasn't the case, Dahkapa trusted him more than himself. Having always devoutly followed the Virtues before being Enlightened, he had never broken a law and been behind bars. This prisoner at least sounded like he knew what he was doing, which is more than he could say for himself. "Sounds dangerous, trying to escape like that. But I haven't got any better ideas myself. At the very least, I can handle hunger with ease. Ak'rei'an gives me strength to keep going. Maybe He shall give me strength to overcome the guards, too. I wish His divine blessing may extend to you as well, so both of us can be free once more."
