  1. I find it extremely easy to make non-humanoid MOCs with CCBS, perhaps easier than the old system. Here are some non-humanoids I made with just the new sets. The CCBS torso can be a little limiting in that regard, but it's still very easy to work with. Those creations are so cool! CCBS is really growing on me
  2. While true, I am a very clumsy person and have broken so many of Mata Nui's limbs that it might be more worth it to buy another set than to order all the parts again. With lime green, most of the ones that have broken for me I can attach elsewhere where their broken-ness won't be a problem
  3. Well I keep buying Glatorian even though they all have cracked limbs and I just hope that they won't get any worse
  4. I have to say these are all really great, but Aanchir's and Ixphia's are my favorites
  5. Ok, so I've been collecting Lego system sets since I was five, and now that I'm sixteen I've amassed quite the collection. For a period of six years, my little brother destroyed my Legos so most of my pre 2008 Legos have been destroyed and are in my little brothers room. Since I'm about to go to college in a couple of years, I wanted to rebuild my old sets while I still have the time to. Also, I'd love some advice on how to maintain and store completed sets without fear of them breaking. Thanks!
  6. I think that's what we're trying to avoid, from the sound of things. *applauds* Bionicle isn't Ninjago. Although I thought Ekimu was more like a Mata Nui/Vakama/Artahka hybrid, not like Wu. Wu isn't the kind of dude to be smashing someone's face with a hammer to stop his brother from destroying everything. He tends to work more through others, and really try to do the self-sacrifice ploy...but it never really works. So the analogy already seems flawed IMO. I was just making a comparison, since it would be similar to Ninjago in that way. Having the father who created everything and is now gone, with two sons, one going evil and betraying the other etc.. That's really the point. LEGO's done that scenario with one theme, so why do it again? Sure, it worked for Ninjago, and could work here, if done right. But I was talking more about the whole application of the Mata Nui character as a god-like being once again. It may be that they're trying to avoid repeating one or both situations. However, the apparent inclusion of Spinjitzu (in Pohatu's case) and the mystical elemental golden artifacts is rather suspicious. I don't think the analogy is as far fetch'd as some of you are making it out to be, although I do believe Ekimu is essentially Mata Nui's replacement. In the scenario this theory provides, it's not that far off at all. The Golden Masks were in Gen 1, which was WAY before Ninjago, and searching for some kind of golden object of power is a common concept to begin with. And I don't really think the fact that Pohatu can sand bend this time around is drawn from Ninjago either. In fact, that's not too much of a change from Pohatu's original power in Gen 1. Ninjago probably draws more inspiration from Gen 1 Bionicle than Gen 2 Bionicle draws from Ninjago, if any at all. I gotta disagree with you on that one. I had Mata Nui's name in my cranium long before I could memorize the names of the Toa. And he was the main focus of the story every year in Gen 1, even in years when the Toa Nuva became more obscure. I also note the way you misspelled Mata Nui's name Meta Nui. That's especially funny for me. Well for starters, the Meta thing was autocorrect. Secondly, the stories weren't really about Mata Nui himself as he was never really in the story. He was the goal of the quest, but the story focused on the villains and the heroes. More people are going to remember the heroes and villains over some godlike figure who was just alluded to and never actually seen
  7. I was searching for something on the day after by birthday because I was had money and wanted to buy Bionicle and here I am.
  8. I'd go through the old books and comics. Whenever I go through a period of ignoring bionicle because school, I remember opening the sets for the first time
  9. I've built a Protector Nui, so I can only say for doing so to half of them. It's very pleasing to the senses. It just makes me really nervous, lol. I might have OCD.I have trouble making MOCs because I'm nervous I won't be able to put the sets back together again and all of the sets I'd want to MOC with are my favorites
  10. As someone who likes to build MOCs, the amount of Skull Spiders you end up with is amazing. If you buy all six Toa and Protectors, you'll have fifty Skull Spider legs! I imagine we'll see some interesting creations that use heaps of those legs. As someone who is trying to get into MOCing, this will be really great! On top of that, Lego has been using more of those pieces in their system sets so I have a bunch from there too
  11. The cool thing about getting a skull spider in every set is that you can amass a lot of them. I have all of the new sets but four protectors so I have a good sized army of skull spiders
  12. You can only justify upgrading the same Toa so many times. I'd love another Toa team, maybe of the protectors or villagers
  13. I'd say Hero Factory's biggest weakness was not enough story. They needed comics or something. I remember in the jungle year when they had a comic I thought it was really cool and asked for a couple of sets for Christmas, which I never did before or after
  14. I don't think Meta Nui was as iconic as you guys are making out. The most known names were Makuta and the Toa's
  15. Sandcrawler because I already have a Slave 1.
  16. I think that 2015 beats out 2001 by a lot set wise. These Toa are my favorite ever and they look super cool. However, 2001 had better Rahi and the Rahi had cooler functions back then. My only complaints about 2015 are the lack of opponents (a single Toa could probably take the LoSS, arachnids have eight legs, and it looks like they've removed Mask Powers and all the depth in the story which made the original Bionicle so cool. I expect all of my complaints to be solved because Bionicle is just starting out and has only been out for 16 days
  17. As long as you don't mind the gold and red combo, you'll love Tahu. The LoSS is a very good set but the function is a level below that of the 2001 Rahi. I'm ok with the PoF as long as I don't think about his lack of elbows while looking at him
  18. I feel like it works well for swarm villains
  19. I wouldn't enjoy that as much as building the full set unopened when everything is new.
  20. I just can't change sets. How they look in the catalog picture is how they'll be in real life for me. The only time I'll ever change a set is if I don't think it's worth selling and then I'll make it into an MOC...
  21. I'd go with Gali because while I don't have the protector her set is my favorite and the protector looked really cool
  22. Thanks for posting dude! I don't think it looks that cool from where I am, but I like the look of Kopaka's
  23. How do the Toa look when there is a lot of sunlight hitting them? Since I had that question, I haven't had a chance to look because school, and I'd think that the trans? pieces would look really cool!
  24. I'm going to take my 200 K score and go cry someplace...
  25. The Ultimate NBA arena because any set that comes with Kobe, Trace McGrady, and Jason Kidd is a slam dunk!
