  1. Looks more like an odd leaf to me, although not sure why that region of the background is so detailed compared to the rest.
  2. Looks like radioactive Matoran capsules used in one of Makuta's experimental nuclear shadow bombs.
  3. The reason I still collect G1 Bionicle sets going into 2018 now is because Bionicle holds a very special place in my heart. As soppy as it sounds, I've had far too many fond memories with this toy line to let it go, and I certainly am glad I didn't, since collecting them is one of most enjoyable hobbies I have at the moment. With Bionicle G1 they got it almost completely perfect IMO, and anyone who grew up with it is definitely in the top 1% most privileged childhoods in the world.
  4. Voriki when he sacrificed himself to save Takanuva from DENMARK. EDIT: Not even joking about this one. If you didn't get the feels when Voriki died in RB then you're not a true Bonkle fan.
  5. This is awesome! Thanks so much for this, Kraata have got to be the most complex collectible in Bionicle.
  6. I always thought: Ta = Red, Orange, Dark Red, Black Ga = Blue, Light Blue, Teal Le = Green, Dark Green, Teal, Lime Green Po = Brown, Tan, Orange, Copper, Keetorange/Tan Yellow, Black Ko = White, Light Blue, Sand Blue, Dark Grey, Light Grey Onu = Black, Dark Grey, Purple, Orange Each colour represents something: -Ta represents fire, lava and igneous rock for the black (Basically volcanoes) -Ga represents water (Since teal and blue are both similar shades that can be found in the sea) -Le despite being the element of air, represents the jungle more (Which links heavily to air through photosynthesis) and green, teal, etc. can all be found in jungle-like environments -Po represents deserts and grand-canyon type environments with the orange, sandy colours (although not sure why black is a popular colour here... maybe to represent caves or something?) -Ko represents snow (white) and ice (light blue) as well as the rocky sides of mountains (light and dark grey) -Onu represents dark caves with the black and dark grey. IMO the orange on Nuparu and purple on Onepu could be a few things; it could represent minerals and crystals, or it could just be to stop the onu-matoran from looking evil, or it could just be to distinguish individual characters. If this is the case, then Taipu with his Black/Tan colour scheme would be classified as a Po-Matoran, despite canonically being an Onu-Matoran, which makes no sense but if everything in Bionicle made sense I don't think it would be as popular as it is.
  7. Yeah it's a good question. It still bugs me that Taipu and Hafu have the same colour schemes despite being different types of matoran.
  8. Isn't that the point of Hordika Nuju? He's supposed to resemble a beast.
  9. I kind find the concept off the rebuilding on Karzahni pretty disturbing to be honest. Before 2006 the only Matoran we knew and connected with lived on Mata Nui or Metru Nui (Of which the populations are essentially the same), so the concept of other Matoran existing in far-off lands completely different to the ones we were used to. 2001 - 2003 makes the Matoran seem like a light-hearted happy race which thrives with simple business and working together (Mostly, *Cough Ahkmou*). But then seeing these Matoran on a eerie, sinister island ruled by a mysterious and mentally unstable lord who literally biologically/biomechanically modifies them into potentially hideous forms of what they once were seems to be one of the darkest themes in Bionicle. BionicleNP represents this quite nicely in his 'Bionicle Ignition 1' stopmotion film on YouTube. Also the Krana always spooked me out. During the Bohrok saga, the Krana were always an uncovered mystery due to their parasitic nature and even after the Bohrok swarms had been defeated, in the animations it shows the Matoran dumping them into pits with creepy music playing in the background, suggesting the mystery of the Krana is still hidden in a thick fog of years to come. And we never did find out the origins of the Krana, although I find it is one of the most intriguing aspects of the entire G1 series.....
  10. Hero Factory tried to do that and it didn't turn out so well....
  11. I want it back but it just wouldn't be worth it for Lego. The new CCBS system is awful but it's what Lego has at the moment and it is likely to stay that way until sales start falling again.
  12. Have to agree with you, the cracks and bubbles up the side, as well as the coloured rock formation 'lid' at the bottom made the Barraki canisters some of the most unique and creative canister designs in Bionicle.
  13. My opinion is gonna be really unpopular with this, but I thought the books were really 'cheesy' I guess. Childish could perhaps be a better word, but even as an 8-year old, I couldn't enjoy the books just because they were so heavily directed towards kids - there were tons of typos, mistakes, the word choice and sentence structure was poor, the story wasn't thought out well, action scenes were wasted and it failed to engage me as a whole - when you can look at other books like The Hobbit and Harry Potter, which are directed at kids but can be enjoyed by adults as well. I feel like the books only exist to make Lego more money, not to tell an exciting, engaging story about arguably the most awesome toys of the decade. The 2006 marketing line with the Toa Inika and Piraka was really cheesy as well. The Piraka were made out, both in the adverts and in the sets, to appeal to bullies and the 'cool kids', which was a stupid concept and the Toa Inika all looked like thugs to appeal to the same sort of people. They should have stuck with the vibe created in 2004, which continued into 2005, 2007 and 2008. The MoL movie and the Legend Reborn were also really cheesy and at least in my opinion, impacted the theme more negatively than positively and I could have done without them. Legends of Metru Nui and Web of Shadows were fantastic though. Just my opinion, and there are tons of other cheesy things about Bionicle which I could mention, but I don't want this post to be too unappealing to read.
  14. Just buy a new piece off BrickLink. Superglue won't last long.
  15. The Toa Mahri 'Canisters' look good when they're sealed but you can't open them without breaking them unfortunately.
  16. That sounds freakin awesome. I would have killed to have something like that as a kid
  17. Just interested since I just picked up Lehvak-Kal and Gahlok-Kal. I know they weren't received very well since they're basically clones of the regular Bohrok, but does anyone here on BZPower like them or at least somewhat like them? IMO whilst the design wasn't very innovative by 2003, I kinda liked them just by how they emphasised the 'Elite' Bohrok feel, with the heavy silver instead of bright colours and the reptilian pattern on the faceplate. to me they felt a lot more brutish and powerful, which is why I quite liked them. In fact the biggest downside for me was not the lack of innovation, but rather the fact that the Krana-Kal of Tahnok-Kal, Nuhvok-Kal and Pahrak-Kal seem to be mixed up colour-wise. But what did you guys think of them? I'm interested to see if anyone else actually liked the Bohrok-Kal somewhat.
  18. Good Guy Maybe Karzahni, Chirox or Vamprah. The Shelek and Avsa are arguably some of the most terrifying looking masks in Bionicle and would work really well on Halloween.
  19. He was badly injured by Teridax when he was caught by Lesovikk, Sarda and Idris, who got him taken away by Botar before he could recover.
  20. Keetongu all the way. He doesn't even break a sweat killing Sidorak and he is far more armoured and stronger than Umarak.
