    I've finally gotten all my homework for this term out of the way.

    What does this mean for you lot? Well, I get off my lazy backside and start comic-making properly again. That's what. First items of business: Chapter 20 of Land of Dragons (a year late already ) and Newsroom #86.

    This following story, my friends, enemies, and those to whom I am indifferent, is a concise summary of why I think Mudkip is awesome.

    ~~~
    This particular Mudkip was born... I forget, some time ago... on Route 120, hatched from my not-so-awesome Championship Swampert. At birth, it knew a small number of moves passed on from its father; what they were, I forget. Being one of those types who prefers speed above all else, I specifically bred it with a Hasty nature. It was not long until I started training it up, making it AWESOME. Some time later, at around Level 60, it was part of yet another Championship team, alongside new pet projects (puntastic) like my Gardevoir and old standbys like Chuck Norris Heracross. It had achieved a small degree of WIN, but that was the beginning. After raising it to Level 65 to match Heracross and Failnado Dragonite, I decided it was time to take Mudkip to the Battle Frontier.
    When I got there, I chose to attempt the Battle Arena, just for the heck of it. It took ages, and Mudkip proved his worth every time, even where Heracross and Dragonite failed. Eventually, I got to fight Arena Tycoon Greta. Now, because this fight is so epic, I'll break it down into script form, with notes by me, m'kay?
    *drums at start of Frontier Brain battle theme*
    Awesome battle music? Oh yes.
    ARENA TYCOON GRETA would like to battle!
    Well, duh.
    ARENA TYCOON GRETA sent out HERACROSS!
    Go! HERACROSS!
    D'oh!
    Foe HERACROSS used MEGAHORN!
    HERACROSS used MEGAHORN!
    This left my Heracross with less than 2/3 HP; her Heracross barely fared better.
    Foe HERACROSS used MEGAHORN!
    HERACROSS used MEGAHORN!
    Using SALAC BERRY, the speed of Foe HERACROSS rose!
    D'oh!
    Foe HERACROSS used MEGAHORN!
    HERACROSS fainted!
    NGAWWW!
    Go! DRAGONITE!
    I'm SO screwed.
    Foe HERACROSS used ENDURE!
    DRAGONITE flew up high!
    Foe HERACROSS used ENDURE!
    DRAGONITE used FLY!
    Foe HERACROSS ENDURED the hit!
    Foe HERACROSS used REVERSAL!
    DRAGONITE flew up high!
    Nasty... This left Dragonite with around 74 HP or so.
    That's it! We will now go to judging to determine the winner!
    DRAGONITE defeated Foe HERACROSS in a judge's decision!
    Uh... yay?
    ARENA TYCOON GRETA sent out UMBREON!
    Pfft.
    DRAGONITE used DRAGON CLAW!
    Foe UMBREON used FAINT ATTACK!
    Foe UMBREON's LEFTOVERS restored its HP a little!
    Foe UMBREON's LEFTOVERS restored its HP a little!
    Uh...
    Foe UMBREON used FAINT ATTACK!
    MUDKIP used IRON TAIL!
    WHOA... that's quite a bit of impact from an unevolved starter.
    Foe UMBREON used CONFUSE RAY!
    MUDKIP became confused!
    MUDKIP is confused!
    MUDKIP used SURF!
    Foe UMBREON's LEFTOVERS restored its HP a little!
    Mudkip's Special Attack sucks... what was I thinking?
    Foe UMBREON used FAINT ATTACK!
    MUDKIP snapped out of confusion!
    MUDKIP used IRON TAIL!
    Foe UMBREON's LEFTOVERS restored its HP a little!
    This left Umbreon with around 1/4 HP left.
    That's it! We will now go to judging to determine the winner!
    MUDKIP tied the opponent UMBREON in a REFEREE's decision!
    GRETA: Oh, come on! You have to try harder than that!
    Oh, shut up.
    ~~~

    And there you have it. Conclusive proof that Mudkips are WIN. Sure, I still lost, but remember: The Umbreon failed to bring down Mudkip in the end.

    Oh, and if anyone even thinks of quoting memes...

    ...And that makes two of BZPower's three most awesome spriters who have commented here. That just leaves RahiZaku, but it's not like that's happening ever.

    In other news, I think I have a name for that kit I keep showing off.

    Textbook people are weird.

    Really. In my Japanese textbook, the people in photos seem immensely hyperactive. In my Maths textbook, they're scaling mountains while sprouting random babble about sine rules. And in French, well, they lack dress sense and watch Titanic a ridiculous amount of times.

    Why, textbook makers? Why?!

    Boy, stone characters have had it rough, and that's an understatement. One minute, they're a nice Metru-brown, the next they've been turned into some random shiny brown colour found only in two sets in the entire history of LEGO, then they're Keetorange for a year and a half, then orange, and finally Mata-yellow. Not only is the indecision irritating, it also pans out badly for us MOCists.

    Why am I stating the obvious? You see, I've been fiddling with this really awesome leg design I made (almost entirely custom), and I've been working to adapt it to a Toa Dlakii design. I've been doing quite well with it, but upon designing the torso, I hit a slipup. There were nowhere near enough Keetorange to make a decent torso design; what I have is horrendously blocky and is interspersed with too much black.

    So, why can't LEGO pick one colour for something and stick with it? I'd have been relatively happy with Keetorange - sure, not as happy as if the old brown still remained, but that's a different story.

    On a slightly related note, why is it so hard to uniformify purple?

    Look at this... (the posts, not the topic itself)

    Those people comparing Bionicle character's deaths to 9/11 (or 11/9 as I think of it)... It's Matoro all over again... :annoyed2:

    As you may or may not have guessed, I bought Krika and Onua today (or rather, sent Lai out to do the shopping for me). I'm really quite happy with them; Onua is one of the better '08 Toa Nuva sets, and Krika is just plain awesome. I would say more, but really, what needs to be said?

    Oh yes, like I showed above, Krika's Ghostblaster fires a lot further than Onua's, not to mention is louder.

    Yup. Another kit preview, with instant awesome from Jaller and Hewkii. You can probably clearly see one interesting detail here - for the Matoran, there are different versions of chests, a la Mask of Light. So that individualises them just a little bit. Also, this preview demonstrates the only other two Kanohi I've made so far, the Hau and Kakama, and that the design is sort of a merger of movie and set styles.

    Oh, and don't even try to steal the kit. You just won't be able to.

    Because such entries tend to reel in the comments...

    Anyway, I'll start with Onua. If you overlook his SHEER SCRAWNINESS, he's actually a really good set. His new chest armour piece is quite good, and it fits well with the silver Metru chestplate situated beneath it. I really like that shield of his, just not as a shield; in my opinion, it makes a good axe, therefore solving Onua's melée weapon problem. His Nynrah also has a unique piece as a cover, which I seriously like. Need I mention that with this piece, Onua's Nynrah can clip onto his back with relative ease? His mask is also quite good, but it reminds me of the Kraahkan more than anything. My only real gripe with the set is his stick-figure limbs; sheesh, not even Tahu or Gali are that thin. Other than that, Onua is pretty good.

    Now, onto Krika. I quite like Krika. He also has that awesome new chestplate, put to good use in that Makuta torso. When risen to full height, he is MASSIVE by canister-set standards, dwarfing Onua. His mask is sheer awesomeness, as are his blades, and his Nynrah seems to fire further than that of Onua. On the other hand, because of his structure, playability and posability are severly limited; he can't even use his hands/blades without toppling over, such is his imbalance. As stated in some BZP review, his Nynrah-arm is a bit prone to rattling due to how it was attached, which is a bit annoying. Also, there's a difference between the white of his joints and that of his mask and blades, as the latter appears to be closer to that of Thok; perhaps either lightening the blades or Thok-whiting the joints would have fixed that issue. One of his most glaring issues is his value for money; he has far fewer pieces than any of the Toa, which makes that $20 pricetag really quite questionable. That's my I get my LEGO cheaper at K-Mart and Big W.

    And that's my opinion. As you can see, I clearly prefer Onua, partially because of the fact that he has more parts than Krika. But they're both good sets. Now I just need Bitil, and I'll be happy...

    This one, though it looks so much better than the last, didn't take quite as long to make. It was the product of a bit of trial and error.

    By the way, this was actually featured in my latest comic for Heroes. Chances are you've seen it already, but here it is again, in all of its memetic glory.

    Copied and slightly paraphrased from an earlier entry...

    Now, you all remember my failed attempt to recruit people for the Unknown Turaga movie? You know, the one everyone blatantly spammed in? Yes? Good. This is a sort of deviation of that.

    As you probably know if you're a regular at the Emporium (which you should be), I'm making the final chapter of Land of Dragons a voice-acted, animated short. I also intend to do that on several occasions throughout LIGHT and the eventual Unknown Turaga III. The first planned animated chapter is Chapter 9. The problem is role-filling. I've got DudeNuva set on two roles, and myself on another two. But after that, two more need filling. Both of these happen to be female roles - Enira and Hev.

    I've since managed to find a voice actor for Hev, but the role of Toa Enira still needs filling urgently. If you're a girl and you're interested, comment here expressing your interest, and I'll get back to you when I write the script for Chapter 9. You can try out for the role, and I'll accept if I like the job you did.

    And, uh, stopping by the Emporium will certainly improve your chances of getting the job.

    Please consider this, as I'd hate to have to take up telemarketing.

    That's the advice of one of my friends, who is so good at the Pokémon games it's not funny anymore. And he's sort of right, too: my Clefairy is level thirty-something, and I describe it as a "Tank and Sponge on Wheels" for obvious reasons.

    Also, 100th entry, woot. There'll probably be some random picture about it soon.

    It goes without saying that I'm just not an artist. True, I own at pixel art, and the occasional unevolved Pokémon (I OWN at drawing Mudkip ), but that's about it. Even so, I recently just started drawing, and this was the result.

    It's probably really shoddy, but I like it.
