  2. Happy thanksgiving! Here, have a haiku. happy turkey day let's all get fat together because 'murica.
  3. Your chocolate milk expires in three days... a year ago. (fun fact, I actually tasted that once. Worst thing ever.) I wish I knew how to play my ukulele.
  4. As others have expressed, the first qualm I have is that in this case there's a fine line between printing it (i.e., putting the words on paper and giving it to people) and publishing it (i.e., printing w/ money involved). Actual publication is out of the question, of course, since it's not my intellectual property and a good chunk is already copyrighted by LEGO, but just getting the text printed...hm. Technically I can go down to my local copy shop and get the thing spiral-bound on paper any day, but it still has to be paid for, and I think that seems to be the real problem if multiple people want copies. Even so, if you know of a way of doing this without copyright infringement, I suppose I'd be open to it. PM me? =) JRRT Sorry, semantics. Printed, not published. I'll PM details

    all joking aside

I thought about that. We have to make sure it's non-profit; all of the money has to go toward production of the books and whatever else is offered. (We may need to have a max donation limit in that case.) Extras can go toward extra copies of the books, which could be given to BZP and other groups as contest giveaways and etc. And honestly I'd be willing to make that conversation with LEGO licensing if that comes to it - I probably would anyway, because I like to be sure and thorough about such things. tl;dr I'm keeping that in mind.
  6. On Kakaru's response blog, he said that he'd love to have an actual print copy... and there's quite a few people that agreed. I may actually be able to make this happen, if that's okay with you. We could get a Kickstarter going and have prints of this. Which I think would be beyond fantastic, and it looks like there's plenty of people here who would be into it. Other than what you've written up, we can arrange something with a few high-end Bionicle fanartists and really make this thing look great. What would you say to going ahead with this? Given it's your hard work more than anything, I really would like you to be at the heart of designing this, if it happens. I have the connections and know-how for printing, so don't worry about that aspect What do you think?

What sort of backer rewards would even come along with it, though? Besides the book, I mean. Your alias, defined and inserted? Exclusive signed copies? I think most people who donate would want a copy. So if you want a copy, you basically 'donate' the cost of one. Not sure what perks we'd have for going above that, though. Perhaps larger prints of some of the artwork? Signage is definitely an option. I'm really not promising leatherbound, I don't know if any of the open publishers can do that sort of thing. Not sure about having unique pages in each print (which would be necessary for having your alias in there, unless you want everyone to have your name in there, which honestly would be kind of cheap-looking)... but I can look into that. I'll ask Tolkien about this, I really think a lot of people here would love to have one. And I can contact some higher-quality Bionicle fan-artists.

I just realized, this is a fantastic and totally viable idea. Maybe not leatherbound, but we COULD do a kickstarter to print. I know a few private printing companies that will print books... and I'm sure there are some good fanartists who would love to take part. I'm willing to head this up with someone.
  9. Seems like that happens to me a lot recently. If you open up a little, you open up a LOT. it feels good and bad at the same time. :\
  10. Do you have the instructions with them? I may be interested in buying most of the collection
  11. How about $675.00 paypal and shipping fees included? I'll find a way to make that work. Thanks. PM me your PayPal info, I'll send it asap and then let you know.
  12. I got the same issues, couldn't get in for about a half hour, then got kicked after about two hours. I'm tired for tonight but will probably tinker more tomorrow. Oh, and I'm an Argonian. :3
  13. First girl post D: Anywho, I guess the most recent photo of me is as fem!Hiccup for Halloween.
  14. I'd like all the instructions, please. How about... - Infected Hau $2 - Gold Hau $4 (if it's the solid gold, never mind, lol) - Silver Hau $4 (Those are the BL prices.) I'd add those to the order for $4 each, included the Infected hau, I've seen most of them go for at least $8.00. As for the Instructions, most of them are in pretty good condition, but with all the sets you want, and the masks, along with the instructions, how about $650.00 plus shipping? If you live in the USA, shipping shouldn't cost to much, and if not then shipping is going to be kind of expensive, but we can work something out. I'm kind of at my limit here... can we say $650 incudes shipping?

    I did a thing

Thanks! It WAS a lot of fun... I wish it had gotten the word out better, I know plenty of people would've been interested, had they known about it.

    I did a thing

So... unbeknownst to me, apparently there are actually interesting things that happen on my side of the state. I was asked to be part of a fashion show to help a friend show some stuff I'd bought from her... it turned out to be a steampunk/Victorian variety show. It was really, really awesome. And surprisingly I didn't have to drive 4 hours to go to it. So yeah. I did a thing. I'm kinda sad because there's a neckpiece to the jacket top that's missing, so I couldn't wear it all. Works OK without it though. I wish I'd actually known someone in the crowd, so they could've recorded the whole thing. I was in a group of about a dozen people, and there was another fashion group, and a nerd improv group, and a music group... Oh well, it was really neat to see even just behind the scenes. Hopefully more interesting things happen nearby. We have far too many nerds around to NOT do cool stuff. Unrelated: I just spent a half hour snickering at Craigslist m4w ads. I am a terribru person. Thought about posting something but what's the point? eeeeeenyways.
  25. I have a few sets of drawers. In one set... I have two drawers for System lego - one for general parts, one for basic bricks and small most-useful pieces. I have one drawer for big bulky system/technic parts and wheels/tires. I have one drawer for the rest of my system In the other set (which is like 3 sets stacked atop each other)... I have one drawer for black, one for silver, one for rare items like masks and translucent/multicolored parts, and 7-8 drawers that each have a couple colors in them, bunched together (I should really invest in actual separators). Basically, I find it most useful to sort by color, with a place or two set aside for small, rare, or highly used parts.
