  1. Must be prototypes/misprints then... doesn't sound that mysterious XD If there's that few of them, it'd be hard to believe whoever has them would be willing to sell. But who knows.
  2. I think Bike's referring to the fact that there is no brown Komau. I have: - white Miru - sand blue Akaku - blue Hau Nuva - black Kakama Nuva How much for them? I'm fine with selling the first two, but the latter two will have to be at a pretty decent price for me to sell.
  3. THANK YOU. I thought it was overhyped. It was entertaining, a 12-year-old's dream, but was too set on making jokes to ever properly let you connect with the characters. Plus it was somehow both repetitive and inconsistent (for example, somehow the chick had almost as many taking-it-literal jokes as the guy who was SUPPOSED to, and for some reason he obviously abandoned that role at some point because people were making metaphors and idioms left and right and he didn't seem to notice). It was great for what it was trying to do, but I think back at the things I saw people saying before I went to see it, like "best Marvel movie" and "nearly perfect" and "possible best movie ever" and I just... no. No it isn't. It was more or less what I would've expected from it, given the trailers. Funny, memorable, but not incredible.
  4. Usually I use proper grammar, but if I'm making a joke or just venting about life (especially on Tumblr), that goes out the window.
  5. I'm certainly glad there are a lot more changes in store, but this is definitely a step in the right direction.
  6. Maybe it's just me, but the second concept art (the one in the thumbnail image) reminds me of this guy [from Banjo Tooie - in a Mayan world, no less, whaddya know]: At any rate, I'm glad it ended up looking the way it did.
  7. That would be glorious and deserving of an A. Who cares about the rest of the paper.

    Ye olde question

I always do, because even if it comes out fine, you've got fun in-progress and behind-the-scenes stuff to show people (which if whatever you're doing actually garners a big enough crowd, could be released as support incentives).
  9. I wouldn't call him one, but with the exception of all the stupid mid-combat one-liners, I really liked his style. Nothing needs an exceptional writer. The point is that, naturally, a better writer would be better. Frankly if the writing style gets shallower than Greg's (and I don't mean simpler, simpler is both good and necessary this time around), I will be very disappointed, and my fandom will likely go from just the comics and sets to just the sets. That'll be really off-putting for me... it could honestly be one of the only things that would end my participation in this franchise.
  10. Exactly. I like it because it's little more than a filesystem, plus a bit of tagging. No comments, sharing, fancy UI, blah. I just wish it worked more often. D:
  11. I agree to most of this, though I do like a little grit, and I love Vezon. XD Also, while some side characters should remain appearance-less, I hope they do more contests for fanmade canon, like the Tahtorak (that TLG actually acknowledges, not just Greg). Hate to burst bubbles, but unfortunately as the main target is 9-year-olds, main purchasers are going to be parents of those kids.... and I think there's still enough traditionally-minded people of that age that Lego isn't going to take the risk of introducing subjects like gender fluidity, for fear of losing business. Hopefully in 10 years or so, when it's our kids, that will be different. I'll probably buy and read everything, cuz I'm just so darn excited for its return. :b

    Oh look what's back

At least now I know who you are. I swear this blog section wouldn't be half so confusing to me if everyone stuck to their primary name. >_<
  13. I really liked it, I enjoyed the First Class group in both movies a lot. They did extremely well. I haven't heard about Apocalypse, but sounds exciting... ^^

    Pros and Cons

Con... convention... I actually just came back to this blog entry for the second time, because I just now got the joke and wanted to applaud you for it. Obligatory punfetti.
  15. I very much enjoyed making comics in the time I was a part of that scene. But in retrospect I did realize that most comics in BAC just aren't funny, now or then. Frankly while sprites in themselves aren't bad, I think they gave people the tendency to just get lazy, with both content and appearance. It was hard even for me to not get caught up in the 'commercial' aspect of it, with self-promotion and guest stars and so on. I was hoping to make a handdrawn comic series with some actual decent effort at humor, but I didn't get the time to commit to any more than 4 of them, so it never got posted. If the new Bionicle series sticks around for more than a year, I may give it a try once more. Comics that are different from the norm are a very welcome sight, IMO. EDIT: To note, I haven't looked at your comics yet. I will be sure to do so.
  16. I like it, but honestly when I see this, I don't see sprightly or agile... he looks kind of lumpy and oddly proportioned. The thickness of the calves make sense given he's jumping and climbing all over the place. But the almost potbelly-like lower torso, and the shoulders that are not only hunched (as planned) but shoved forward to imply he has little to no neck, seem out of place. I do love your technique, and the direction you were going (love the axe and feet). Just trying to explain the disconnect I saw between how you describe his personality and how he came off looking, at least to me. With some long arms and a bright-red butt, he could be an orangutan - which I suppose fits the jungle idea, but not the quick and nimble one.
  17. I didn't know about it either. I've made a point of not knowing much outside the sets, movies, and comics. But I had fun reading up on all sorts of things over the weekend (not that nearly any of it will matter). XD

    Recent Events

I'd agree to keeping the number low. I like the vehicles, but it got really annoying when the trend became that almost every large set was a vehicle.
  19. I'm not familiar with Maya but I've modeled on a number of programs, so I could probably pick it up pretty quickly. What short of Javascripting are you going to need? I can help with that as well.

A Problem I Have With Lego

The fact is that they sell. Regardless of the theme, they're popular. And frankly, I think they're easier large sets to design and make fitting across themes than buildings and such.
  21. That's what I was just wondering. You can mock the company, but your sorry butt is in there paying them for whatever size you have a problem with... Turd blossoms.

    Bionicle art is in order.

How does that work, being the same person? (I'm not too good at following canon outside of the sets, comics, and movies). I'm very interested in this Toa of the Green concept, maybe I'll do that.
