Nonhuman species that exist on a planet other than Earth. Sounds like the most basic definition of aliens to me.

ARTISTS WANTED! Bionicle Retelling Art Wishlist Updates
Kayru commented on bonesiii's blog entry in blogs_blog_39
I'd gladly do some. Here's a fairly simple example. -
I really love how smoothly shaped it is. VERY well shaped. Well proportioned on top of that, which is tough to get right. I love lime, so that's quite a joy to see. Honestly I'd be really scraping the bottom of the barrel to find something I don't like. I'm not sure what I'd critique. Actually on a different note, it'd be really helpful for viewing ease if you made the images smaller before putting them on Brickshelf. They're currently at a huge resolution and the pictures aren't really high-quality enough for that to be much of a plus, so not having to scroll a bunch to see the pictures would be nice.

Even with just a camera, you can do a pretty decent picture with some patience. I had a setup like this, and it worked quite well for me for some time. Use sheets or white paper for background, use white sheets or pillows as reflectors, a good lamp for your main light source, and make sure that when you take the photo you brace yourself, stay steady, perhaps even hold your breath as you press the button so you don't get that last-second jiggle. You probably already knew this, but I thought it might help to mention. It is a good feeling to get back into it, isn't it? I'm going through a similar experience now too. Good to see you around!

Dear sweet Mata Nui that is gorgeous. My friend got me an ocarina for Christmas, but it was a 5-hole handmade one that looks like a kid sculpted it out of Play-Doh. They're so much fun to play, I know I enjoy it. Good luck ^^

I don't even watch Doctor Who, and the tenth is still my favorite. Because Tennant's an awesome actor. :v

What would you want a new Bionicle to look like?
Kayru replied to Nato G's topic in Bionicle Discussion
One of the main qualities that I miss about Bionicle as opposed to Hero Factory is that in many cases it was the build, not the parts, that defined the look. In both lines, I really haven't enjoyed the armor-covered-skeleton standard (which is why I tended to stay away from small/canister sets). If we were to see Bionicle again, I would hope to see a higher part count and a more Technic-heavy, less new-armor-dependent style. As far as WHAT, I'd definitely like to see some new things - maybe some characters we still don't have a canon appearance for - but it'd also be nice to come back with a new version of an old character. I wouldn't be opposed to a new edition of the original Toa team, and I'd LOVE to see revamps of some of the villains, like Teridax or Roodaka. -
Justt wanted to say that, even though they took a bit to get, Mc just sent me a VERY large order, all intact (one set is in an incoming shipment still, but Mc let me know that even before I got the first package). He even forewarned me about missing parts and offered to make up for it with extra masks! Thanks so much Mc, you're definitely trustworthy and a pleasure to have done business with!

So Nukaya and I were talking about BIONICLE-based kids' names...

I think Hahli wouldn't be too bad. Most people would just assume you're trying to make "Holly" into some weird spelling (like people do with Jason -> Jacen, Madison -> Madasyn, etc) -
I made a thing. On a post-it note. Because everyone at work except me is gone. D; I decided erasers are for the week, so I just rolled with however it came out. meh. But honestly, however you spend this week, I hope it's lovely and full of good memories and stuff and things. Insert other sentiments here. Yep, I'm sleep deprived. Have a lovely week, all!

=_= The way you took the photo, it looks like a miniature. Also eggnog is delicious, and whatever 'dark' eggnog is, I wants it.

Wow, so many impressive things... I'll hopefully be able to bring some work of my own, but I don't know if it'll measure up! XD Oh well, all in good fun. Looking forward to BF14.

Nighttime Rambling: Work Desk Edition
Kayru commented on Jedi Master J.'s blog entry in blogs_blog_299
Oh man... dual monitors of different sizes... I hated that, certainly don't miss my old setup. Hurray CAD! I swear, making things on Autodesk/Solidworks was the only enjoyable part of mechanical engineering :\ -
I wonder where BZP draws the line...

Congrats! I was a National Merit scholar... but I only did somewhat decently on the SATs, so... I don't know how much the PSATs helped in my case. XD

2001 - 2003 Collection, VMKK, and More For Sale
Kayru replied to Heat Wave's topic in Buy/Sell/Trade
How much (separately or all together) for: - Exo-Toa - Infected Hau - All 6 gold Krana Kal - Shadow Kraata ? -
I hope to see it opening day. I think having a Bionicle easter egg would be fab, but I'm not holding my breath. At any rate, I like the style. Nobody does humor quite in the same way as Lego does, and I love that, they're staying true to themselves. This movie has so much potential, I think I'd enjoy it even if there was no plot at all.

As much as I liked Arkham Asylum, I tried playing Arkham City once and just quit because it wasn't like Asylum at all to me. I ought to give it another go, now that I own it...

I don't like that Furty's tail is attached by the neck. With a gap. That annoys me to no end. That alone is the main reason why I haven't bought him yet. XD

What you think about HF minifigures
Kayru replied to Mr. Cup of Fail's topic in Hero Factory Discussion
I'm so glad this is a topic - I was just coming to the forums to say, even though I really don't like Hero Factory very much... I reeeeeally like the HF minifigs. I think it's fabulous that they're compatible with minifig stuff, they're posable, they didn't cram too much detail into the parts, but they made them reusable both as minifigs and as parts for other MOCs. In comparison to sets with Bionicle minifigs, I actually prefer that they are doing it for the purpose of implementing them into actual HF Technic sets (mechs and creatures), rather than the weird amalgam of Bionicle/System that the Bionicle minifig's sets were. I didn't like that, and even as I'm trying to collect a full collection of every set, I'm still hesitant to spend my money on those. Whereas to me this is what it should be used for... actual HF sets that still look like HF but allow you to create 'large-scale' things in the world without buying a $100 megaset for the full-sized heroes (did I mention I loved the Exo-Toa? I think that was handled well too). Plus they're cute. o3o Plus plus, I could actually consider HF cosplay for these little guys. on a side-note, Aanchir just made me realize that my 3D modeling experience can actually come to good use if I can buy/get access to a 3D printer... -
