  1. OOC: Nen, Thama, and Sashina from Ga-wahiIC Nen, Sashina, and Thama:The trio found themselves once more trekking across the desert of Po-koro. It seemed only a short time since Thama was here, being rescued by Nen, and now their goals were about the same as they were then. It seemed nothing had changed for them except the addition of Sashina.Sashina herself was not too pleased with being here, as the weather was ill-suited for a water toa such as herself. If they were in any sort of hurry she would have grabbed Nen and ran straight to Po-koro with Thama using her own mask to keep up, but there was no rush, leaving them free to enjoy the sight of desert. Lots of desert. She glanced over at Thama, pondering the air toa. According to what Nen had told her, Thama was almost turned to the side of Makuta, but Sashina wasn't really sure if that was true. If the Makuta had sent out her entire team of ex-allies, they should have captured or killed her by now. All Sashina could know was whatever Nen and Thama told her, so she'd have to trust that for now.Nen was having a pleasant time once again. The desert of Po-wahi was hot, but there was little he could do to change that so he was perfectly happy regardless of the heat. He was happy up till the point that the cliffs surrounding Po-koro came into sight and with them a pillar of smoke billowing into the sky. The trio rushed to the village, only to see that there was an awful lot of rubble. It seemed the village had been attacked once again since the rahkshi attack that they had heard about. What used to be the main guard building was trashed and there were workers hauling debris away throughout a decent portion of the town. Investigation revealed that Turaga Onewa had been captured by pirates. Nen led the group back to his Po-koro hut. Once inside they all sat down to process this news."So, another kidnapping of a turaga," Thama stated. "Probably not related though. Nokama was taken by tarakava, and unless these pirates had some serious power, they couldn't be behind the Ga-koro attack.""That means that the two probably aren't related," Nen agreed. "However, if other turaga have been kidnapped, they were probably taken by Makuta as well.""In that case, it might be better that the pirates captured Onewa," Sashina observed. "If he's being held by somebody other than Makuta, it might be more difficult for his agents to capture him.""Even so, this is Makuta we're talking about. If he wants something bad enough, he'll take it by force if necessary. Look at how simple it was to take Nokama. It's entirely possible that any other turaga might look like they vanished into thin air. He no doubt has beings stong enough and skilled enough to make us and our powers look like nothing. If we try to do anything that attracts his attention we'll be struck down faster than we can even recognize our doom.""Well, maybe if we actually tried to do something we could make the whole situation more favorable for everyone.""Don't be a fool. Whatever forces involved here are too vast for us to have any hope. We can't do anything to change this. It is all happening how it is going to happen and the only way we could have an impact is if we got others to aid us, and even then it'd be more about them than us.""Why do you keep acting like we're not important? We exist just as much as any other being and we have the power to affect events!""No we don't!" Her own outburst surprised even herself. Do we? she thought. Can we really do anything? No, it's foolish. Think Thama. The only reason you can even touch your old team is because you know them well enough to exploit weaknesses. But you were a trained marksmen, a very good one at that. You've trained to be a skilled combatant. Nen and Sashina have as well. So what's holding us back? Why can't we do anything? Are we that afraid of standing up and trying to make a difference? She took a breath and spoke again, much quieter this time. "We can still do things. We should be able to fight things and win. But right now I don't think we can take on the darkness with any hope. Even if we fought with all our strength and all our skill, we couldn't even dent it. Even against a decent minion of Makuta, we couldn't hope to win. A rahkshi? No chance. An enemy toa? Nope. A high level servant? In your dreams. Not only could we not hope to fight, but I doubt even escape would be possible. They just have too much power compared to us. We're toa and that's nice and everything, but we're in a universe where all of our foes are overpowered.""Then we should do what we can and fight the bad guys that are actually balanced to us," Nen said."As long as I can hit it with my axe, I'm good," Sashina agreed, sharpening the edges of her favorite weapon.""We should plan where we go from here then," Thama said. The trio began to prepare their plan for the next destination.
  2. IC Nen, Sashina, and Thama:Thama awoke with a start. Rubbing her eyes, she glanced around the area. She was in the same hut, it's leafy walls giving a green tint to the light that passed through it. There were enough windows along with a few lightstones that the hut had a pleasant interior illumination. She sat up from her makeshift bed on the floor, her senses gradually awakening. She was in Sashina's hut, a nice one in the middle of Ga-koro that she had obtained back when she was a matoran. It wasn't exactly the best fit for a toa, and having two other toa staying with you wasn't an improvement, but it was a home, and it was close to the marketplace so there was no way Sashina would give up such good real estate. Thama took some time to reflect on Sashina. On the surface she was a relatively nice and friendly sort, similar to Nen without the same air-headedness that Nen projected. Internally though there was a rather scary anger, and Thama had made sure not to trigger it.They had been here for a few days, not really doing anything of note. Ever since the possible tarakava raid hadn't happened the trio had been unable to think of anything to do. Nobody seemed to need any help so the trio spent most of their time lounging about. Thama had made sure to keep an eye out, lest her old team ambush them. The longer they stayed in one spot, the greater the chance that they would be found. She decided that it was time to move on.She exited the hut, seeing Nen and Sashina outside. Nen was pointing to the clouds and talking about seeing shapes. Usual behavior for Nen."We should get moving. They're going to find us if we stay here any longer," She told the pair."Sounds like a plan," Sashina agreed. "While we were lounging Nokama was taken. We could go look, but we don't have any leads. But if Turaga get kidnapped we can presume that other Turaga will be targeted as well.""Then let's get moving," Nen responded. "So, Po-wahi then?""Sounds good," Thama said, leading the group towards the desert.OOC: Thama, Nen, and Sashina to Po-wahi
  3. IC Yasurek:"Considering your experience as I pirate I find that a little hard to believe, but whatever you say, captain," Yasurek chuckled as he walked down the gangplank, all of his spears sheathed and ready. "Amusing how just a short time ago all of us were being recruited in a bar to join a pirate crew. It'll be interesting to experience it from the other side," he remarked.
  4. IC Yasurek:Yasurek sighed and leaned on the port-side railing. Finally, we're back to getting somewhere, he thought to himself as the boat picked up speed. Soon the ship was on its way once more.OOC: Yasurek to Ta-Wahi
  5. IC Yasurek:"Well, if we're all ready, let us be off then," Yasurek said from behind Raknar. "We have treasure to find, stuff to do, and authorities to evade with great skill! And yes, I've been here the whole time."
  6. OOC: Kal Grochi, I'm going to assume that the marines you just ordered around were not Kalama's marines.IC Nen and Sashina:Sashina sighed as Lanora walked away. "That woman is never going to give anything any bit of thanks ever, is she?" she observed after Lanora was long since out of earshot. "It's almost as if the marines, I don't know, had HIRED ME SPECIFICALLY FOR MY SKILLS AND PAST WORK FOR THEM.""Well, no offense to the Master Chief but she doesn't seem like the nicest person," Nen agreed."I am well aware of that Nen. She's nicknamed 'merciless'. I am very aware of that fact." She turned to the Kalama and the marines. "Commander Kalama, if I may say, in my past experience with marines I have never in my life heard any hint of appreciation for anything a non-marine has ever done. Why is that? Is it too much to ask that you acknowledge that you don't have to be a highly trained killing force to do anything useful?"
  7. OOC: Nen and Thama from Ko-WahiIC Nen, Thama, and Sashina:As Nen entered Ga-Koro he felt the pleasant ocean breeze on his face. It was nice and not as cold as Ko-Wahi, and that made this place a much better one. He stood with the rest of the group as various individuals were beat up and chewed out for not knowing procedure. Not knowing procedure himself, he decided to see what the rest of the group was doing so as to not get beat up by people.Thama was pleased to be back in Ga-Koro as well. Didn't think I'd be back here so soon, she thought to herself. She watched the antics of the group with some amusement. With a sudden blur and whoosh a blue toa appeared next to Lanora. "Master Chief Lanora Ma'am, all of the recall notices you asked me to deliver have been successfully received by their recipients," the blue toa informed Lanora. She glanced at the assembled group with surprise. "Um, my apologies, I didn't know you realize you were occupied." She paused, taking another glance at the group before settling on Nen. "Nen?" she said with surprise. Suddenly she was giving him a large hug. "Nen! It's good to see you? Where have you been? Me and Jev were wondering where you were! What brings you to Ga-Koro? Why are you traveling with Kalama's Raiders? Who are all these people? Are you helping to fight the tarakava? Did you make the brigade any money while you were traveling? Did you remember to pay the bills?""Hey Sashina," Nen said, somewhat muffled by the hug he was in. The two separated, Sashina having finished asking most of her questions. "Um, I've been all over the place, I'm traveling with the raiders because I encountered them a bit ago and we've been traveling together ever since, I can't really remember the names of every single person in this group, I'll probably end up helping against the tarakava, yes, I didn't really make any money but I did do nice things so that counts for something, and the bills have been paid, yes," he answered. "Why are you here?""Oh, right," Sashina said, remembering why she was there. "More apologies Master Chief Lanora Ma'am. As I said, all the notices have been delivered successfully."
  8. IC Nen and Thama:Nen trudged through the snow after the group, swiftly digging a path through the snow with his sword so he could run faster.Thama, being more agile, simply walked on top of the snow without sinking into it. She was right there with the group as they passed into Ga-Wahi.OOC: Nen and Thama to Ga-Wahi
  9. IC Yasurek:"It seems most of us are here," Yasurek said, walking up the gangplank.
  10. IC Nen and Thama:"One thing that's always bugged me even back when I was a matoran was why we even have an 'old matoran' language. I mean, why would we as a people randomly switch languages to a completely different one if we were the ones who were going to be using it? You'd think switching the dictionary would mess everything up," Thama interjected, teleporting over and around any of the rocks in her way.Nen climbed over a rock and continued walking. He was pretty sure Nala had disappeared from his shoulders again, which made him somewhat sad. But he was okay. If she's in the area than that means the pair of them should be nearby. In theory. Unless she's already halfway across the island. But she seemed to be going the same direction we were, so that's good to know, he thought, thinking about the blue blur from before. I can't wait to introduce everybody to them! Everybody's going to get along so well!
  11. IC Nen and Thama:Nen was quite pleased to have Nala back on his shoulders. "It's good to see you again," he said to her. "I thought you'd decided my shoulders were not a comfy nap location.""In theory any tarakava we encounter at Ga-koro should be easier to defeat than the rahkshi from earlier," Thama observed. "Of course, we had a huge numbers advantage against the rahkshi."A blue blur zoomed by in the distance, so far away it was barely visible. Nen glanced at it but was unable to make out the details. Hmm, he thought to himself, I wonder what she's doing out here.
  12. IC Nen and Thama:Thama wiped the snowball slowly from her face and glanced around. Most of the group waqs snowball fighting again. As she took in the fight, Lei grabbed her and began using her as cover from Xibre. She quickly moved away from Thama as Xibre's snowballs came at them, and Thama barely managed to dodge them all. She was quite annoyed by Xibre at this point, and to show it she sent a large gust at the snow in front of her, picking it off the ground and sending the several shovel-fulls of snow raining down on Xibre's location and the immediate surrounding area. While JL was blocking punches, a snowball came from behind and lightly tapped against the back of his head with a small *piff*. From behind JL, Nen was already back to rolling up a big snowball for no reason, but he was whistling innocently now.
  13. IC Nen and Thama:"It's my pleasure," Thama replied. "Speaking of that arrow..." she walked over and plucked the arrow out of the kraata before returning to Xibre. "It was all a matter of timing," she explained, wiping the arrow off on the snow. "The rahkshi was occupied, I had a clear shot, so I took it. Good job taking advantage of the situation."Nen made a snowball and started rolling it along as the group pressed onward.
  14. IC Nen and Thama:Nen set Kali gently on the ground before standing, deciding to stay where he was and defend Kali from any trappers that came near. Those that did were swiftly cut apart by his sword, still inexplicably shiny despite all the injuries it had caused in the last few minutes. As the Entorahk recovered after Yuni's frying pan strike it was interrupted by a sudden arrow to the eye socket. The rahkshi shook its head from the pain. From off to the side, Thama was reloading her bow. "Funny thing about spiders, they can't teleport to save their lives," she commented to the rahkshi. She glanced over her shoulder to see the horde of trappers she had teleported away from charging towards her. "They can catch up reasonably fast though," she corrected herself before unleashing a controlled gust to scatter the trappers once more. "I'm going to finish these spiders. Have fun fighting the rahkshi!" she said to Yuni and Lei before resuming her battle with the hoard.
  15. IC Nen and Thama:Thama smashed a sharp gust of wind into the fallen rahkshi, knocking it onto its side. It would take a bit longer for it to get up.Nen was heading over to where Kalama was, gleefully slicing bugs along the way. "Hi Kalama!" he greeted the marine cheefully, "Is there any particular spot where me and my handy sword would be most useful?"
  16. IC Nen and Thama:Nen glanced around. It was diffcult to see, but he could make out a cluster of 6 spiders around him. He grinned, focusing his elemental power as he stabbed the ground with his sword. 6 walls of earth rose up in front of each of the spiders. Nen kicked each of the walls over in turn, squishing the spiders with a satisfying crunch. He looked around to see how the others were doing.Thama was faring well. She had a group of spiders flying around a localized controlled cyclone. She fired an arrow at each of the spiders as they spun about in the air, clipping each one squarely. She cut off the cyclone and the spiders fell to the ground, writhing in pain as Thama went and plucked her arrows out of their bodies.
  17. IC Nen and Thama:"The spiders are attacking us; I suggest you fight them," Thama told Fragarach as she fired an arrow through one of the spiders.Elsewhere, a spider was crawling on the ground, nearly invisible. It was promptly squished by a cloaked Nen's foot. He decloaked and looked around. "It seems odd these spiders would attack a group like us," he observed. "I mean, all of us together are a pretty dangerous force, right?"
  18. IC Nen:Nen drew his sword and pointed it at JL. "NOBODY messes with people when they're making a snowman. This is a fair contest of skill and determination. Do not interfere," he threatened. "Please," he added.
  19. IC Nen and Thama:Nen turned to look at JL and Fragarach. "Love? As in the romantic kind, like what Naona and Stronin and JL and Cyrax have?" he asked. He thought to himself. "I dont think so. I have no idea what that feels like, and besides, I'm much too busy building this snowman to have a significant other.""I'm afraid that Nen and I don't share the special connection that you and Cyrax are so pleased with having," Thama said. "I wouldn't trust you observations on these things, Fragarach, since you spend so much time being someone other than yourself with no memory of what happens in the meantime. Not the best way to notice the connections between other people."
  20. IC Nen and Thama:Nen sighed since the fight had been resolved and went back to admire his snowman.Thama walked over to him and asked, "So, just like that you're back to the snowman?""But of course," Nen said. "My work there was done. There was no reason to remain there.""But nothing you did had any effect on anything. Xibre did the exact same thing you did but it actually worked for him.""Well yes, but that's okay. It doesn't have to be about me you know.""But it's NEVER been about either of us," Thama observed."Well, you were at the center of attention when you were attacked by your evil ex-teammates," Nen pointed out."Yeah, and did we do anything there? We escaped. That's it. Since that time, we have fought a toa of iron that didn't react in any way to ANYTHING we did, despite us attacking from various spots in various ways. We got lost in the desert, chucked maha that was a training exercise for the others, fought nui jaga that weren't really dangerous to begin with, traveled separately, arrived at our destination only for nothing to come of it, reunited with Kalama after engaging in combat where I didn't get to do anything and you didn't actually fight but anything you did was still ineffectual. We're now traveling with a group featuring a guy that you couldn't knock out despite being a toa of earth using a surprise blow to the head but instead needing a matoran to do the same thing. If we were in a story, we'd be side characters. Except we aren't even prominent enough in the group dynamic to be side characters because we don't have any personality traits that would cause conflicts. We're just those two people over to the side in the group picture who never do anything. At this rate we'll never actually hit another intelligent being for actual damage in our entire lives. I'd say that's our lot in life, but it's not even a lot at all. We're just kind of here.""I punched a slaver while we were separated. He was a toa.""Well, the slavers didn't really seem that dangerous, now did they. I tried to keep some mercenaries from escaping me once by creating a cyclone around them as they tried to fly away. They flew through it without being affected. I'm an archer by trade and have been for a very long time, yet my arrows have never done anything. Ever. I've shot surprise attacks, the back of people, weak points in the armor, they never work. My arrows do nothing but annoy people. That's it. All I can do is annoy people and make vacuums that don't affect people since they can hold their breath for several minutes. Apparently.""You really need some self-esteem," Nen suggested. At this suggestion, Thama picked up some snow and placed it on the snowman's head. After carving for a bit, the snowman had a snow hat. She took a step back to admire her work."See? Don't you feel proud? Now the snowman won't get cold at night," Nen observed.Thama picked up another handful of snow and shoved it into Nen's face.
  21. IC Nen:While Darylhii was getting himself out of the dirt the still cloaked Nen moved to thwack Darylhii in the back of the head with the flat of his sword.
  22. IC Nen:Seeing that Darylhii was going to try to kill everyone, Nen, who was at the moment out of Darylhii's vision used his mask to become mostly invisible and created a large solid chunk of earth about the size of a toa right above Darylhii which promptly fell down towards his head.
  23. IC Nen:Nen was busy looking his snowman over. "Somethings missing..." he observed. "But what?" He glanced at the tree that was now next to him. "What do you think tree? What's missing on my snowman?""..." said the tree."You've got a point there," Nen agreed. "My snowman could use some limbs. Arms mostly. But where am I going to find snow arms?""..." the tree suggested."Really? You'd be willing to do that for me?" Nen asked. "Okay then, this might hurt a bit." He drew his sword and cut off two small branches from the tree, sticking them into the sides of his snowman to form arms. "Excellent. Wait, one more bit." He took off the tip of a branch and replaced the earth nose with the branch tip. "There! My masterpiece is improved! Yay!"IC Thama:"Nen, we should probably be worried about Darylhii and JL," Thama told Nen"Now listen here. I'm sure the two of them can solve their problems peacefully.""Darylhii is trying to kill JL.""I doubt he'll succeed. Besides, if it looks like the fight is going to get one or both of them killed I'll uproot their tree and roll it down the mountain. That'll put a stop to them.""Won't that kill them?""Probably not. There's a very slim chance of mortal wounds. They might get mildly injured though.""I suggest you save the tree uprooting for a last resort.""But of course. I'm not that mean."
  24. IC Nen and Thama:"If the longer path could be an issue for Frgarach, we should probably take the shorter one. The sooner we get there the better, and in theory with our large number of trained fighters we should be relatively safe from any enemies," Thama added. "Depending of course on the enemies. I can't say I'm familiar with glass trappers. Would any of you be willing to elaborate?"Nen was busy making a snowman. "In theory the name would make one assume they were people who trap things in glass," he observed, placing the head on top of the body."Well, the only way anyone regularly makes glass is if they have sand and fire, which would require toa of those elements, with maybe an air toa replacing a toa of crystal if they were in a sandy area. But a group like that couldn't be comprised entirely of fire and crystal toa, could it? And why would they be here?""I don't know, I was just providing an opinion." Nen created some earth chunks that he placed on the head to make the snowman's face. "Ah, my new creation is finished!" he cheered, raising a fist in triumph. "Yay!"
  25. OOC: Nen and Thama from Ta-WahiIC Nen and Thama:As soon as she was in Ko-Wahi again, Thama felt much colder. The marines were up ahead, singing a chant or something to keep time. It was rather catchy. She glanced at Nen who was trudging alongside her in the snow. "Are you having fun?" she asked him."Always," he responded. "I'd join the marines in their song, if I knew the words. And was a marine so the lyrics would actually apply to me. And if I wasn't worried the noise would cause an avalanche. But if all of those were true I'd be happy to join in.""I'm not actually surprised at all that you'd join in. It seems like something you'd do.""Singing in a group builds friendship and teamwork, and friendship and teamwork are amazing."
