  1. Not fair. You made it so I couldn't comment on your BRB. =[
  2. 1) You don't "have" to do anything, none of this is mandatory; it's just a fun way to pump up your writing muscles. 2) That's fine. No problem, take your time Lady K. =] Well basically, each week I give everyone an exercise, like a prompt (this week's Transformation) or something similar. Then everyone goes off to write something that meets the requirement(s) of the exercise, and posts it here. For contests, we'll vote each week on the Writer of the Week based on which story is everyone's favorite. For now the points are just there for "awesomeness" -- I haven't decided whether to have them count for anything yet.

Hey! That's an honored tradition you're dissing there! xP
  4. Next time you log on, Gera, make sure to give a shout out to your former Acad buds. =]

  5. It's all part of the plan. ;]

  6. A note to Story Fit members: There is no deadline for completing the tasks; you don't have to finish writing your story before the 26th. You can take as long as you want with your story, the only requirement is that you do write a story. If you procrastinate, more and more tasks will pile up as they're added weekly, and eventually you might not be able to keep up at all. I'm debating whether to install a deadline, on advice from some of the members, but if I add one it will probably be two weeks, so you should shoot for that and see if you can keep up with such a pace.
  7. Oh, I see. Yeah that would probably be a 3. xD On Velox's suggestion, we'll have everyone vote on the "Writer of the Week". Nominate and cast your vote for someone based on which story you like best. You aren't allowed to nominate/vote for yourself. For example, "I vote for [title of story] by @name for Writer of the Week".
  8. Please ignore -- thought I saw a grammar mistake when there was none. ^^;
  9. No problem. I haven't read the Foundation series yet but I plan to now that I'm almost done with senior stuff. I've read more Robot books but not all of them.

  10. I've updated the Members List, if I left anyone else by accident please tell me. =]
  11. Yep, 4 is the highest normal score but I want to save 5 for the really good, above and beyond stories in terms of writing. Same with reviews, max of 2 points and then 3 would be an above and beyond-type review (though I'm not too sure what that means). a Bonesiii type review? What does that mean?
  12. BCMon said it all. Do a bit of soul-searching, go ahead and change yourself if that's what you want, but after you're through with all that, let it go. It's good that you're making an active effort to improve yourself, but don't get hung up over the mistakes you made.

  14. =[ Take your time. We all need a break every once in a while and it helps loads in situations like these. Doesn't make me any less sad at seeing you go though. Have fun at camp, too...you'll still be going to National Jamboree right?
  15. I finally read your theory on the Toa Mangai that I've heard so much about, and I have to say that is some crazy ingenuity.

It's amazing what a healthy dose of sleep deprivation can do for us, huh? xD

  16. I enthusiastically agree. Asimov's other works are amazing, but The Last Question is definitely in the top five of those.

  17. Review'd. Sweet. I'll see if I can do that side-box thing Exo has in his RPG Fit. And if any of you writers are also role-players, and haven't done so already, feel free to check it out!
  18. I've had bad experiences with grilled cheese...the smell still brings with it a wave of nauseating trauma.
  19. Wow. Never thought it could happen. XD
  20. Eeg. Just saying right now, whoever I "report" on, none of this is personal. And thanks for the mention, Exo. =]
  21. Rising Moon@ Oops, I was going to explain it later but never remembered to. Fixed. XD And for now, just points for reviewing other Story Fit stories. Maybe if this gets off the ground I'll start giving out points for reviews in general. ~Monday~@ There's no deadline; you can take as long as you need to complete these tasks, but the longer you take the more tasks there'll be since they'll be released weekly regardless of who's done and who isn't.
  22. Just ask here and I put you on the list. =] Yeah.
  23. Yep, that's fine. Wow, really quick Tilius! I'll read your story after this then assign points. Haven't quite figured out a point system yet... EDIT: And take your time Lady K. =]
  24. For an explanation of what the Story Fit is, please go here. Each week I'll post an exercise. This is the entry for the exercise of the week of January 20-26. Since this is the first week of the Story Fit, we'll start off with a simpler task -- a one-word prompt: Transformation Write a story revolving around the theme of transformation. You may interpret it literally or figuratively. There is no word limit or any other constraints -- the only requirement is that the story contain this theme. Feel free to put forth ideas on stories if you're not too sure about what you want to write. Note: You do not have to complete this task by the 26th, as there is no deadline for the Story Fit project. However, since new exercises will be given out each week, you should still work on your stories to prevent too many tasks from piling up...procrastination won't be pretty. Once you write your story, post here with a link to it. Extra points will also be awarded to those members who review other Story Fit members' stories. This will not only give you practice with writing but also reviewing, as well as promote an exchange of ideas and styles within the BZP Writers Community. At the end of the week we will vote for the "Writer of the Week" based on whose story is everyone's favorite.
