  1. IC: Kovinth-Refectory Kovinth sat in silence for a moment, weighing that response. "I suppose objectively speaking, no; individuality is not very remarkable. However, Makuta, Matoran, Skakdi, all were created with individuality in mind. Our kind was created with a lack of individuality in mind. It developed in us on its own, took us by storm, and look how we've adapted to it! We've never had to live without it, so I fear many of us take it for granted, but we're the first. The very first of a new breed, and I feel we must keep the wonder alive as long as we can."
  2. Actually, we'll all be dead. I don't know what you believe about the afterlife, but I don't think there's cake. Are there any secret roles that go crazy and take down everybody if they're lynched... just wondering? (Granted, depending on who the maniac is and their mood at the time, an attempt at a multi-person hanging could be easily thwarted.) What, didn't you know about the glorious Sky Cake? If we do good in this life, then when we die we go up to a big cloud in the sky with all the cake we can eat! (Don't listen to those heathens that talk about Sky Cookies or Sky Baklava, they're lying.)
  3. ... Should we really be killing 5 people right off the bat? Especially after losing the Detective? I think I hotta vote Xccj.
  4. IC: Kovinth-Refectory The teleportation Rahk nodded as he finished his bowl, leaning back from the table. "Yes, to each his own. As is our perogative as thinking beings, is it not? Though our origins may be similar, our thoughts vary wildly. It's an incredibly interesting phenomenon to me. The fact that we range from nearly mindless subservence to our creators, to rumors of whispered rebellion, and every facet in between is incredible to me."
  5. IC: Kovinth-Refectory Kovinth shrugged, taking another spoonfull of food before answering. "Different Rahkshi seem to have different definitions, I like hearing everyone else's thoughts on some matters." He smiled and nodded to his companion. "Yours is among the majority, as is mine."
  6. IC: Kovinth-Refectory Kovinth nodded and leaned back in his chair. "Fair enough, I understand. You don't know me, so who am I to be asking these things? Just curious is all. As a matter of curiosity, may I ask-- Your mother? Is she a Makuta? Just sort of a survey I'm running, you understand, about how many Rahkshi think of their creator as a parent."
  7. IC: Kovinth-Refectory Kovinth paused, his spoon halfway to his mouth before chuckling. "Well, I suppose I deserved that answer. I was more curious, however, in the circumstances behind your arrival. Where you're from, why you're here, what you hope to accomplish? Hopes, dreams, desires, destiny, those are my questions. If they're not too personal of course." IC: Blue-Dorm Blue staggered to her bed, falling face first onto the hard matress, sighing loudly. Tesla was... Interesting. Showing kindness where none was needed, asking not even a future favor in return... Maybe not all of her brothers and sisters were evil. Those two Rahks the night of the attack, who had sympathized with her... There were others. She'd find them. And they'd change things. She rolled over and closed her eyes, falling slowly into a fitful sleep...
  8. IC: Blue-Halls Blue stood on her own, albeit shakily. "I... I think so, yeah. Thank you, and not just for helping me to my room. If I can help you out with anything, come find me. My name's Blue." IC: Kovinth-Refectory Kovinth nodded and took a seat at a small table, setting his bowl to one side as he took out his journal and set it in front of him. "Thank you, I'm glad to have some company. So, may I ask what brought you here?"
  9. IC: Kovinth-Refectory "Well, welcome to our... 'illustrious' institution then." He found a seat he liked and started walking towards it, before turning back to Vyper. "Care to sit and chat? I like to hear other Rahks stories, if that's alright."
  10. IC: Kovinth-Refectory "As have I, before arriving here. However, in a place where they claim to understand our kind, it seems a grievous oversight." He sighed and turned, scanning for a free table. "And as living, sentient beings, our right to live does come with the right to complain if we so feel the need. I'm Kovinth, are you new here?"
  11. IC: Blue-Hallways "No no, that's not what I meant!" Blue said quickly, shaking her head and immediately regretting it. "It's just--Woo, spinning walls--It's just that most of the students around here are... Preoccupied with themselves. Kindness is... Refreshing. We could all do with some more, I think. Thank you." IC: Kovinth-Refectory Kovinth strode into the aptly-nicknamed mess hall, dodging around some of the more unruly students as he headed for the food line. He stepped up and grabbed a bowl as he heard the camouflaged Rahk ahead in line make some noises off discontent. "I do agree with you on that point, friend." He said, scooping some of the sludge into his bowl. "However, it technically provides for all our basic needs, and so the higher ups think we have no right to complain. Barbaric if you ask me." OOC: Vyper
  12. IC: Blue-Halls "Yeah, uh... Take a left here..." Blue said, supporting herself as much as she could. The halls all looked the same, but she's been on autopilot for the past few days anyway, she knew where to go... "Kharz, dad would be so upset with me if he knew about this... I mean, my Makuta, not dad, he's not my father..." She said quickly, upset with herself for resorting to calling him her father again. He'd never done anything for her. "Hang a right here... Why are you helping me? Not that I don't appreciate it, mind you."
  13. IC: Kovinth-Library Finally putting the last book away, the blue and purple Rahkshi turned to the library exit. He rolled his eyes again as he saw the group at the front of the library conversing loudly. He started walking their way and slung his bookbag over his shoulder, activating his teleportation power as he approached the group, popping past them and out into the hallway. He looked in each direction, finally setting on heading for the mess hall, where maybe he could find some of the Rahks he considered friends.
  14. IC: Blue-Refactory Blue tried to stand on her own, not wanting to show weakness, but the room kept spinning and she shook her head quickly, trying to gain more focus. "Yeah, tired... Turns out we need sleep, huh? Who knew..." She tried to walk on her own, but couldn't make it more than a few steps before stumbling again. "Kharzing feet... I guess I do need some help, as much as I hate to admit it..."
  15. ((Darkest Days)) Name: Ohen Znaka Codename: Firestorm Age:22 Gender: Male Loyalties/Faction: Unaligned (For now) Power(S): Firebending: Ohen can generate and control fire, and to a lesser extent, heat. He can turn his body into a living flame, and use this power as a sort of flight. Lighting: Ohen can generate and direct electrical charges, including traditional lighting, heat lighting, and ball lighting. Teleportation: Ohen has limited control over a line of sight based teleportation. It takes a lot of energy to do perform this power, the farther he travels the more energy it uses. Appearance: A bit over six feet tall, Ohen looks slightly different from the 'normal' view of superheroes. He's not full of rippling muscles, nor does he have a tight figure. He's larger than the traditional view would imply, almost like the Pillbury Doughboy. His costume is form-fitting, which may be a ploy to distract opponents, and quite garishly colored. Mainly orange, with electric blue stripes along every seam and two lightning bolts crosses across his chest. His hair, when powers are active, is a raging inferno, though a well-kept crop of dirty blond otherwise. He has a round, kind-looking face. Weapons: N/A Skills: Though not a superpower, Ohen is deceptively strong and quick. His frame leads people to underestimate him, and he uses that to his advantage, often lulling people into a false sense of what he can do, before surprising them with his speed or strength. Personality: Ohen loves life. Upon discovery of his powers, he took to them like a fish to water. He loves to show off, to test his limits, and sometimes to simply do nothing but enjoy doing nothing. He is fiercly loyal to his friends and family, and will not tolerate anyone crossing those he considers his. He works very hard to keep control of his temper, but the one thing that will set him off every time is hurting someone he loves. Weakness: Intense cold and wet are his two major weaknesses, the first being a counter for his firebending, and the second messing with his lightning generation and his ability to control fire. In small amounts, neither is very dangerous to him, but get cold enough, or douse him in enough water and he becomes very weak. In addition, his 'living flame' form, while useful, is likely his weakest. It consumes a lot of oxygen, so if he raises too much in altitude, or gets caught in a storm, or even flies through too dense a cloud, he could snuff out his own body, which could possibly kill him. Bio: Ohen is a second-generation American, his family coming over from Eastern Europe before he was born. Unbeknowst to him until much later, his family agreed to let a group of scientists perform a couple of experiments on him as a baby in exchange for stability in their new home. He does not know the extent of these tests, but he suspects they are the source of his powers. He has entertained the possibility of his powers coming from the mutated gene that gives the X-Men theirs, but he prefers his version of his history. Ohen had a fairly normal childhood, growing up in rural Pennsylvania. His family had land, and a farm that he grew up helping on, and he noticed nothing unusual until the age of 10, when the family's barn caught fire in a thunderstorm while he was playing in it. He got out safely, with not a single burn on his body; eben though he had walked through the flames. That was also the night he discovered his lightning powers, as he had accidentally called down the bolt that set the barn on fire in the first place; though he never told his family that part. Soon after, his parents revealed to him the experiments he'd been put through, and Ohen decided to set about learning his powers by himself. With the help of his family, he set up a safe area, away from people in which to practice his growing powers. Since about the age of 16, Ohen has been performing small feats of heroism in the tri-state area under the name of Firestorm, both awaiting and dreading the day that he attracts somebody's attention...
  16. IC: Blue-Refactory Blue dropped her bowl into a return bin, rubbing at her eyes and groaning. She hadn't slept much since the night of the attack on the Matoran, rest wasn't coming easy. She had no special love for the little beings, but there has been no justice in the slaughter either. Yes, her and her kind were built and bred as weapons, but the sick thrill that some of the other Rahks seemed to take over killing innocents was appalling to her. She shook her head to clear it of her thoughts, and walked through the mess hall, heading for the exit. She stumbled however, due to her exhausted mind, and nearly bumped into a magnetism Rahk with... Glasses? "Sorry, so sorry..." Blue muttered, resting her hands on the table, waiting for her dizzy spell to pass. "Don't mind me, just a little... Not all here right now." OOC: Tesla. IC: Kovinth-Library Kovinth looked up from his pile of books at the sudden commotion in the library. Looked like some kind of reunion going on, and they were being loud... He sighed and rolled his eyes, stretching his long arms and looking back at his pile of books. Half a dozen books, plus his own journal, that was all the information there was about Light... Kovinth had become interested in that specific end of the spectrum after meeting the Rahk called Vlad, and his... Curious relationship with the element. Kovinth wanted to know more, however the Makuta didn't seem very keen on keeping records about Light. What little there was seemed very focused on combating it, which the teleportation Rahk didn't want to do. Vlad was nice, he seemed intelligent and good-hearted, for a Rahk. Kovinth looked down at his journal, cryptic notes scrawled across water-damaged pages. He sighed, and slipped the journal back into his bag, grabbing up the books he'd taken and starting to put them away. No use leaving them all in a pile, someone putting together the common thread between them, and figuring out which Rahkshi had been researching Light. It would raise some questions he'd rather not answer... OOC: Kovinth open to interaction.
  17. Okay... So, I started a new job and have been crazy busy with personal stuff since... Like, the attack on the Matoran village. :/ Things are starting to settle, and I feel confident I can get back into the game. Is there a recent recap for the story, or can I ask for one?
  18. Also, for the record, Kovinth totally has an atlas, it's in his bio.
  19. IC: Kovinth-Infirmary Kovinth fell silent as he thought of how to answer the question without revealing Vlad's hesitation. The newcomer tothe infirmary set him on guard as well, and he waited until she was gone to speak. "What happened is the Makuta sent everyone to slaughter the Phantoms. Vlad was on the stepping stones, looking for someone I think. The wind caught him and sent him over the edge. I went after him, but I'm very bad at flying and I fell."
  20. IC: Kovinth-Infirmary The Rahk of teleportation watched dispassionately as a fight broke out,w as broken up, and things went back to normal. Sensory overload, it was a Karz of a thing. He should have felt something at that, but instead, nothing. He shrugged and reached into his satchel to grb his notebook adn write this down. However, upon finding the notebook, he was dissapointed to discover that it was soaked, completely waterlogged from his trip into the sea. Kovinth stared at the ruined notebook, opening it to see smudged and unintelligible scribblings, the liquid protodermis ruining all of his notes, all his hard work. He growled at the offending sight, stalking over to a trash can and throwing the ruined notebook into it before grabbing a chair and heading back over to where Vlad, Drift, and the newly returned large Rahk were. He set the chair down and collapsed into it, crossing his arms and sighing. "The fact that he is out doesn't bode all that well. I fell with him, hit the water at near the same speed, and I'm conscious. He must have hit something, or gone into the water badly. Palma can likely help him, but... My research on things like this say he must have damaged himself a bit for this to have happened." OOC: Talking to Flabbergaster.
  21. IC: Kovinth-Infirmary Kovinth had trudged up and down the beach after pulling himself out of the water, looking for any signs of life as he got more and more tired. Just as dawn was breaking, he had seen Drift carrying something back up to the school. Knowing he couldn't stay out much longer, he decided to follow her perhaps she knew something he didn't... It took him a bit to climb back up to the school, he didn't trust himself with his flying ability. The rest of the student body had returned, looking pleased about their massacre... Kovinth ignored them, heading to the infirmary. If Vlad or that other Rahk had been found, this is where they'd be. He pushed the door open, still dripping a bit from the wet climate down below, and breathed a sigh of relief at the sight of Vlad. "Oh, thank the Makers." He muttered as he entered the infirmary. "You found him, I was worried for the worst. How is he?" IC: Blue-Phantom On The Water Blue lost herself in though, of how to try and help the situation. She almost didn't notice the end of the fighting, the Rahksi leaving... She didn't know what to do. Not by herself anyway. She was only vaguely aware when one of the two Rahks she was with left, and turned her attention to the one she'd been speaking to. "We can't do anything by ourselves. Nothing big, anyway. We'd have to hide, sneak, be subtle. To really change things, we'd need an army... Sorry, what are you planning here?" She asked, only then registering that he seemed to be on a mission.
  22. IC: Blue-Phantom On The Water The silver Rahk paused at the words from the other, unsure of she'd heard correctly. She looked up at him and squinted, watching his smile. He seemed sincere... And she really had no choice. She stabbed the staff into the gorund, holding onto it for support as she straightened up. "Well... Glad I'm not the only one." She said, trying to keep her composure. She reached up and grabbed her boomerangs, yanking them out of the tree and sighing. "What do we do then? We couldn't help here, at least I couldn't. I refuse to be used as a mindless solder like our predecessors. We can't sit idly by and wait for more trouble to befall us, or innocents. Do you have any ideas?"
  23. Ic: Blue-Phantom On The Water Blue looked up sharply at the Rahk approaching her, wiping her eyes as she stood up unsteadily. "No... No, I'm not Karzing okay! None of this is Karzing okay, this is a massacre!" She said, not caring at this point if he was sympathetic or loyal to the Makuta. "They did nothing to us, they're innocent victims and we just came here and murdered them all! I couldn't save any of them, and everyone else is Karzing enjoying themselves!" Her voice caught in her throat and she felt sick to her stomach in a way even the refactory slop never made her feel. "And to top it all off, my Karzing boomerangs got Karzing stuck in this Karzing tree!" She paused, catching her breath and looking at the Rahk. "So go ahead. Beat me up, or turn me in, or whatever. I've said too much already, I know that. I don't care anymore."
  24. IC: Blue-Phantom On The Water Blue turned a magnet in her hands over and over, picking up one of her boomerangs with the other hand and staring at the two. There was a small hole at the joint where the weapon folded,perhaps... She pressed the magnet against the boomerang surprised when it slid into the joint easily, almost as if it had been made for the weapon. She held another magnet in her left hand and threw the boomerang experimentally, watching as it arced through the air and sailed back to the magnet in her hand much easier than ever before. She kept throwing it, trying to take her mind off the scene around her, but the further she threw, the more she felt, and the mre she felt the harder she threw. Eventually, Blue stood up, throwing the boomerang overhanded into the treeline, gritting her teeth and crying out in anger with each throw. She didn't care that those other Rahks could likely hear, and certainly see if they wanted. An injustice had been done and she had done nothing to stop it, had been expected to participate?! That was not her way, she had betrayed her code and herself, and even her father in this one night! THOCK Blue stood, waiting for the boomerang to come back. She could see it there in the tree, stuck there, taunting her. She growled and grabbed her other 'rang, slipping the magnet inside and hurling it at the stray boomerang. Not anticipating fully the magnets, she cried out in frustration as her second 'rang simply stuck to the first. She grabbed her staff and ran at the offending weapons, bashing them and the dumb tree too, barely hearing the sharp sounds of metal on wood as hot tears ran down her face, blurring her vision before a single misstep took her down to her knees, leaning against the tree for support as she cried. Never had she felt like this before this feeling of betrayal with nobody to blame but herself. The guilt, the death, it was too much for Blue and she cried at the base of the tree, halfheartedly punching the bark as she tried to regain control of herself...
