  1. I figured I'd likely hide some of that stuff, namely role details and maybe one or two of the roles themselves before it actually got posted for signups. I put all that detail in so that I had it written down somewhere, and to get some feedback on the game as a whole. Other than hiding some information, is there any more feedback? ((PS: Sorry for using a spoiler tag Wind, I had no idea there was a 'more' tag when I posted this.))
  2. I could go either way with that, but I think I might prefer contractor status, if there's a way we can do sort of a mechanics contractor. What sort of tweaks would I need to make?
  3. Fair enough. I've modified the backstory, I still don't know if it'll fly but perhaps it's closer to a good explanation?
  4. So, I have a rough draft for a game I'd like to run when a slot opens up, if anyone wants to take a look and give be feedback, I'd really appreciate it. More Bionicle Mafia (Whatever number this is): Web Of Shadows! In the far-off city of BeeZeetru, civilization thrives. Tall gleaming buildings, mostly punctual public transportation, streets only half filled with forgotten trash, truly a paradise! But for every shining metropolis, a seedy underbelly forms. Seeing potential for new nesting grounds, a Visorahk queen and her brood have moved into the city, displacing the local misunderstood youths and singing-dancing misanthropes in favor of their own, Mafia-style gang. Since the failure of Metru-Nui, the insects have been trying different tactics, and this may be their most subtle. Using specialized Visorahk, empowered by the Queen herself, they hope to recruit some in the city to their ranks, twisting the unfortunate residents to their will and killing those who oppose them. However, there may be unexpected opposition in the city... Exterminators, bug hunters, a pharmacy student who's studying Visorahk venom for his PhD, and a secret detective all stand in the way of the dark web. Even some, who may be a secret for now could prove to be either friend or foe to the Mafia... Roles: Each role will have certain special abilities (and some may even have their own win conditions!) unique to them, which will be explained in further detail later on. Mafia-aligned roles: Queen: The head of the swarm, she makes final decision during the nights. Visorahk (x5): The grunts, these can suggest targets and plans, but have no real power other than delivering the killing blow. Town-aligned roles: Detective: An elusive figure, he skulks around at night, searching for suspicious activity and keeping detailed notes about his findings. Med student: Knows just enough about the Visorahk venom to be able to reverse the effects in a short period of time. Bug hunters (x2): A pair of vigilantes, these two hunters will take to the streets if they have any suspicions. Exterminators (3): Simple workmen, these trap-layers know how to proof their houses against infestations. Lookout: A nosey Nelly, this person likes to hide in the bushes and see who gets visitors. Lovebirds (x2): Just a couple of Matoran in love! Villagers (x???): Misunderstood youths and singing-dancing misanthropes. Role details: This is where we get to see exactly what each role can do. (May be ommitted or changed for actual posting, surprise is nice.) Mafia details: Queen: In addition to making decisions, the Queen will know if she has been investigated by the Detective. After being investigated, the Queen can choose not to kill during the night in favor of using the Visorahk to attempt to find out who the Detective is. Each living Visorahk increases the chances of finding out the Detective's identity by 10%. Visorahk (Kamakazee): This Visorahk has a store of time-delayed Hordika venom, which can be distributed in a crowd at the cost of the Visorahk's life. The goal of this insect is to be executed during the day (NO REVEALING YOUR ROLE!) an to PM myself with a list of 3 players you'd like to infect. Each has a 20% chance of being infected, upon which they become Mafia aligned Hordika. Visorahk (Disguiser): This Visorahk is a shapeshifter, able to make itself look like anybody. If this Visorahk goes to kill someone during the night, they can choose to look like any other living player. Visorahk (Plague Doctor): This Visorahk can attempt to infect the nighttime target with Hordika venom if sent on the mission, leaving the target with a 40% chance of becoming a Mafia aligned Hordika the next night. Visorahk (Janitor): A master of assassination, this Visorahk can dispose of a body quietly, attempting to make it look as though the inhabitant simply moved away. If used, this Visorahk has a 20% chance or raising no suspicion, resulting in no daytime vote. Visorahk (Web Theorist): A master of probabilities, this Visorahk can deduce with great likelyhood who else, if anyone will be visiting the nighttime target. If used, this Visorahk has a 50% chance of deducing any other visitors the target will get, as well as a chance at discovering their roles as well. Town details: Detective: An aspiring gumshoe, the Detective wants to prove himself on the force if he can crack the case of the Web, he'll be set for life. Each night, he can investigate one person. Upon discovery of a Mafia member, he will add them to his list. If he discovers the queen, he will also uncover the killer of the evening. Each night therafter, using his deductive skills, he will have a list of suspects to choose from. WIN CONDITION: Discover all members of the Mafia and close the case. (Can win posthumously, albeit very difficultly.) Med Student: Researching for his thesis, the student treks the city at night, looking for unfortunate souls who have been infected with venom. Each night, he can visit one person. If found the same night as the infection, he can cure them, and use the knowledge gained from them for his thesis. WIN CONDITION: Cure 4 people of the venom, thus proving his thesis paper and getting his degree. Bug Hunters: Former Dark Hunters, this pair have taken up arms again at the threat to their city. Each night after a killing has taken place, the Hunters can choose to go out and take vigilante justice on one person they think is responsible. If they choose incorrectly, one of the two will leave the city in shame. If it happens again, same dealio. Exterminators: Just trying to make a living, (and also slightly paranoid) the Exterminators can choose to bug-proof their house at night. Each Exterminator gets 2 uses of bug-proofing per game. If targeted the same night as a bug-proofing, the Visorahk will be killed instead of the target. Lookout: A member of the Neighborhood Watch, he's taken the Watch part literally. Sneaking to a house each night, the Lookout can see exactly who enters the home, though he doesn't know roles. He takes pictures, which will be added to the town bulletin board each day before the Detective can take them down. Lovebirds: Two crazy kids in love. Each night they can decide if they go on a date or not. If on a date, if one is targeted, there is a 50% chance that both will survive, or both will die. If apart, and one is targeted, the surviving Birdy will become either a Bug Hunter or an Exterminator. Villagers: Misunderstood youths and singing-dancing misanthropes. Rules: 1: All BZP rules apply. 2: No revealing roles. 3: One vote switch may be used per-person per-vote. Switches must be posted in BOLD CAPS or they will be ignored. 4: Town wins when all Mafia have been killed or jailed, Mafia wins when all of town is gone. Spots: 1-25ish. Edit: Spoiler tag converted to "more" tag. -Wind-
  5. IC: Blue-Phantom Blue nodded, smiling as she took in the clearing. The memories were bitter, but they could make them better. "I'd hoped you'd like it. Well, what now? Do you know how to start building a forge?"
  6. IC: Ohen finally arrived about an hour later at his new apartment. It was small, as it had to be in New York to be affordable, but it was enough for him. He dropped his suitcase in the bedroom and looked around, sighing as he stretched his arms over his head. A new start, a new life. Maybe he could do some good, make a difference. The young man stepped out onto the fire escape and looked down at the street, many stories below. He looked up at what little sky he could see between the building. Clear, mostly. Some wispy clouds maybe, but clear. Ohen smiled as he took off his jacket and tossed it back through the open fire exit. He stepped back and got a running start, springing off the escape railing and igniting his body, a great trail of fire roaring up out of the alley and into the skyline of the city. Ohen kept low, assuming any air traffic controllers wouldn't want any disruptions, and kept to just above the rooftops. He felt free up here, like he wasn't just the son of some immigrants, a boy who'd been tested on. He was a Superhero, and up here, he could do anything. Over the next few minutes, Ohen edged higher and higher into the sky, making wide circles over his new neighborhood. He needed to familiarize himself with the area around his home first, then figure out the layout of the city from up here. He flew higher up again, grinning and laughing as he felt the winds buffet his flame-consumed form. People could probably see him now, if they bothered to look, but he didn't care. He wasn't going to hide in the shadows, his fight, his very destiny was to be bathed with light. He flew straight up into the air another hundred feet, stretching out his arms before snuffing his flaming form. He fell through the sky, laughing as he twisted and turned before re-igniting himself and soaring over the rooftops again...
  7. IC: Blue-Phantom Blue nodded as she followed the river upstream, getting closer to her destination. "Gaever... Nice name, I like it. I'm sorry for what you're going through, Gaever. You seem nice, I wish this hadn't happened... Not to any of us. To be honest, there are days I wish the New Breed hadn't been born..." She fell silent for a moment before breaking into a clearing, recognizing a scarred tree from the night she had attacked it in a fit of rage. "This is it... Very near the village, if the buildings were still standing we could see them. Plenty of trees for building, solid ground for a good foundation, and the river provides the water a forge will probably need, What do you think?"
  8. ... Hey, have we talked about this yet? Is that a typo? A clue? The Curator? Is Fishers just crazy?
  9. Yeah, I'm kind of upset these roles are gone too, they looked interesting... As far as the clues go, I'll be the first to profess my innocence, my avatar has no blades to speak of. I think Kylo Ren is a better choice than me, and that's not just because I don't feel like dying just yet.
  10. Kovinth would be very interested, and Blue is already on board.
  11. Name: Zale Less Age: 24 Gender: Male Occupation: Lance Corporal, Federation Space Navy. (Walker mechanic.) Appearance: A bit over 2 meters tall, close-cropped brown hair, blue eyes.Built similar to an old-Canadian lumberjack type, minus the large beard. He does have facial hair, however he keeps it trimmed shorter. Often wearing plain shirts and pants, and almost always stained with oil or dirt. Equipment: Tool belt carrying a wireless Walker diagnostic display, basic repair tools, duct tape and WD-40. A personal communication device. Keeps a knife strapped to his belt. Customized FAW-007G, named Steadfast. Skills: Walker repairs and patching. Some sword training (Due to unconventional hobbies). Personality: Generally warm and jovial, Zale greet everyone with a smile. He believes most people have good in them, though also the potential for evil. He's willing to give most the benefit of the doubt, but is incredibly unforgiving if you cross one too many lines with him. Fiercely loyal, if he decides you're worth his friendship, he'll never let you down. Bio: Growing up in a rural suburb, Zale had plenty of time on his hands as a child. His father taught him the basics of mechanical work, how to repair household objects and vehicles, and Zale took to it like a fish to water. By the time he was a teenager, he'd already developed a reputation for making anything work. He had a close group of friends growing up, and they had a reputation of being the strange children. For years, they were determined to bring ancient sword fighting techniques back into the mainstream, and each friend studied a different method, practicing against the others in the group. Zale studied a 'sword and board' method, using a medium length curved sword and a tall, tower-like shield. He was known amongst his friends as the strongest, the one most likely to take a hit instead of backing down, and he's carried that with him to adulthood. He managed to save quite a bit of money from repairing and fixing anything that was sent his way, and enlisted in the military as an on-base mechanic. After some time proving his skills, he began piecing together a design for his own Walker. After being sent a severely damaged frame that was meant to be scrapped, Zale struck a deal with his CO that if he could repair the armor, he could pilot it for the military. His work keeps him very busy most of the time, but he's managed to find time to work on his customized Walker armor. He finished recently, fully repairing a jerry-rigging the armor to working ability, much to his commanding officer's surprise. Weakness: Slightly obsessive, if Zale begins on a project he's likely to forget eating and sleeping until he's satisfied with his progress. While he has a long fuse, he is very unforgiving if people continually cross him or hurt his friends. A grudge from Zale is not easily erased. Base Model: FAW-007G-Warrior Designation: Steadfast. Appearance: Slightly more heavily armored than the stock model, Steadfast has traded some maneuverability for defense. While not as heavy as a Behemoth, Steadfast can take more abuse than the stock Warrior any day. It carries a large shield, almost the same height as the Walker itself on its left arm. It has upgraded thrusters for space-flight, as well as much larger feet for ground battles. The idea is, if Steadfast in in your way, you'd better find a way around. Armaments: The shield is made of a scanner-blocking substance, so by hiding behind it, Steadfast can avoid enemies locating weak spots. It carries a curved sword, 11 meters long, and designed to channel electricity through from a solar-powered pack on its back. As a backup, Zale has also added a combat pistol to the Walker. Weakness: The scanner-jammer shield is directionally based, so in a flanking situation it's jamming abilities are useless. It also works in both directions, so anything coming at it from in front of the shield is only visible visually, not by scanners. The Walker is mostly melee based, and almost useless at range. Pilot: Zale Less.
  12. IC: Blue-Phantom Blue nodded and clapped her hands together, looking around. Down the beach, she caught sight of s tributary river, and had an idea... Perhaps the perfect place. "I believe I can help with that." She said with a smile. "I'm Blue, by the way. And I know a very special place, at least to me. Come, both of you, if you'd like." She said to the silent Rahk as she started to make her way towards the clearing she'd found the night of the massacre.
  13. So, I'm really interested in joining, and am actually in the process of writing up a character now, but something has me confused... What's a 'bridge bunny', if I may ask?
  14. Hooray, explosions! Seriously though, we got super lucky, killing the detective night 1.
  15. IC: Ohen-NYC(Ferry from NJ) Ohen Znaka stepped off the rocking boat, tasting the salt in the air from the bay. He turned and looked back in the direction the ferry had come, smiling as he saw Lady Liberty, torch held high. He and his family had decided that now was as good a time as any to embark on his new career, and after stopping to visit some extended family across the bay, the young man had finally arrived. New York City, the land of opportunity. A hubbub of noise and lights, and apparently cold winds as well. Not to mention home to seemingly countless superheroes. Ohen had always thought the comics were a exaggeration at best, but the more attention he paid to the news, the more he realized that there was a disproportionate number of NYC superheroes. Not that he minded, that meant plenty of chances to find a foothold, and maybe some others like him. The tall man set off, consulting his phone for directions to his new apartment before hearing a cry of panic. He looked up, just in time to see a masked man running from a crying woman, holding a purse that obviously didn't belong to him. Ohen grinned, not five minutes in the big apple and already there were chances to prove himself. He took off running, passing the crying woman in the blink of an eye, and starting to gain on the purse-snatcher. His long legs carried him farther than the shorter criminals with each step, and Ohen saw the panic in his eyes before the thief turned down an alley. Ohen followed without missing a beat, eyes widening as he saw the trap around the corner. He just barely managed to teleport behind the thief before the baseball bat cracked against the brick wall where Ohen's head would have been. Electricity crackled as Ohen's hands lit up with power, drawing the attention of the now confused lowlife. "O-oh no... You're one of them, ain't you?" He managed to sputter out, before turning to try and make a break for it. Ohen was faster though, and teleported in front of the smaller man. "Well, isn't it obvious?" Ohen asked as in his painstakingly practiced American accent, hiding any hint of the nation of his birth. "You steal a purse, I give chase. You try to kill me, and now look at us. My patience is running thin, you can hand over the stolen goods, or I can take them..." ----------------------------------------- A few moments later, Ohen found the weeping woman again, sitting on a bus bench counting out change she must have taken from her pockets. She looked up in surprise as her own purse hit the bench beside her, and caught the warm smile of a country boy before his face turned away and he began to receed. Grabbing her purse and hugging it close, she stood up and cried out. "How did you find it?! How'd you get him to give it back?!" The farm boy turned slightly, and smiled at her again. "I only asked nicely. I hope your day gets better, ma'am."
  16. IC: Blue-Phantom Blue nodded giving the other Rahk a reassuring smile. "Good, good. Something to create, to remember the builders by. That's good. How can I help?"
  17. Well I went out, but at least I took somebody with me.
  18. Oh, this isn't boding well. If I'm going to die, can we at least get one of those multi-hangs again?
  19. IC: Blue-Phantom Blue sighed, and tried to smile reasurringly, which likely didn't work. "It's a battle. A constant fight. Discipline is key. You have to find some small comfort, something that gives you hope, and cling onto it. You're not a bad Rahk, you've just been lied to. We all have. You have to find 'you' and grab onto it and never let go. It helps, a bit."
  20. Well I do not have anywhere near the amount of active brainpower to defend myself, that's upsetting... I was very worried about me appearing on that many suspect lists, and honestly, kind of makes me wonder if I'm a secret role... Which doesn't help my case. Anyway, I'm voting Underscore. :/
  21. Black. What you saw, Bonkle, was my character texting his girlfriend.
