Definitely quantum physics. It's just fascinating to delve into the most fundamental particles which make up our universe. And also really complex and obtuse, but that's part of the fun.
Shame I wasn't very good at other areas of physics. Might have been nice to take it in university.

Happy birthday!
Welcome to being 21. We do still have milk and cookies, but we have to pretend to feel guilty when consuming them.

What is your favourite kind of tea?

Eh, I find The Nightwatchman to be a really mixed bag. There's good songs on each album, but there are indeed some awful ones as well.
More One Day as a Lion really would have been nice, especially since it looks like there won't be anymore Rage despite all the rumors over the years.

Yeah, the whole Faust thing always makes me feel dodgy about loving the album so much. It unfortunately puts a stain on the entire band. He was only with the band for the first album, but when that album is Nightside, he's part of the band's history forever.
Between this and the first Mayhem album, I really wish some of the most significant high points in black metal didn't have such people behind them.
As for Ihshan's solo stuff, Eremita is a really solid starting point.
After or angL probably wouldn't be bad either, but Eremita takes elements from both for a more complete Ihshan experience.
angL does have Unhealer on it though, with Mikael Åkerfeldt on vocals. Hearing them growl back and forth at each other is really neat.

That's really neat, it's been a while since I've seen a cassette. Especially one as great looking as that.
Gave the album a few more listens and it is indeed great. While I don't particularly care for the whole Star Wars thing, can't argue with the music. Getting a bit of an In the Nightside Eclipse Emperor vibe from it, which can only be a compliment.

That's pretty much what I thought too. Hasn't been long since I listened to it, but I already hardly remember it. Basically felt like the last two albums, but without anything to make it stand out from them. It's not bad, but kinda feels pointless when you have the previous two albums.
I'll probably give it another listen before the end of the year, but I'm not expecting a drastic change of opinion.
-
Eh, I can't say I care for any of their albums other than The Blackening and ...Locust.
Opinion on the new one?

I can assure you that the cover is perfectly fine, but I guess I see how the lighting might make it seem like it's not...
The Stand Alone Complex series is actually just based on the original films/manga and tells a different story which takes place in a different universe, rather than continuing it.
Still, I would totally recommend watching the movie as it is a good introduction to the characters and themes, and it's a landmark of the cyberpunk genre.
It can definitely be confusing, as it has this big sci-fi world and tends to be very philosophical, perhaps even overly so sometimes, but it's totally worth getting into it.
Although obviously, I'm a bit biased here

With the axtinguisher this looks like a mix between Christian Bale in American Psycho and Tim Curry's Pennywise in It.

I think I remember when you got the job. Hard to believe that it's really been seven years.
Have fun not having those responsibilities anymore.

only available in Asia and import prices are ridiculously high.
Having spent the past week listening almost exclusively to Boris, I feel your pain.
Nice collection though. Reminds me that I should probably check some of those out at some point. Liked The Living Infinite quite a bit, but haven't listened to anything else by them.
If I'm not mistaken Devin Townsend did vocals on a couple of tracks on Natural Born Chaos, so I might start with that.

I'd like to believe that this joke is the only reason you have that Korn album.

Sounds pretty sweet. I liked Heritage quite a lot, so I guess I'll be checking the new one out sooner rather than later.

How's Pale Communion?
-
Glad to hear it went alright.
Presentations make me really nervous, but it only started happening at university which is kinda weird. I used to be fine with that stuff in high school.
Good luck with the next one!
-
I don't know if I'm that lucky. More time to prepare would have been nice =P
The exams started less than a week after the deadline for three major assignments, so it was pretty stressful.
Best of luck with your exams, hope they go really well.
-
Sounds neat, I'll see if I can check it out tomorrow.
And yeah, it was hard leaving those two off the list, but there was just so much great music this year. I actually extended my list to 15 albums, and those two still didn't quite make it.
-
Good luck with recovering. I really hope everything works out ok with your health.
-
Hope you get better soon ^^
-
Thanks ^^
And yeah, not like I won't listen to it all day anyway =P
-
It's already 5 hours long, after I removed like a hundred songs. What do you want from me?
-
Yes, I do wonder Although admittedly there's a lot of stuff I won't be taking to uni, like all the books I have no intention of re-reading anytime soon, so the unpacking wasn't all wasted.

Those are very nice. You definitely have skill.
Used to do a bit of photography a couple of years ago too. Taking macro photos is so much fun.
Concert! :D

Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Alice really knows how to put on a show and is still absolutely fantastic live.
