In every topic that relates to your personal opinion of a set, one person seems to come up with the excuse that "such-and-such isn't true BIONICLE." Why is this? Because some people are so insistent upon having sets follow tradition that they have to make excuses for why the present is not a criterion in the future's tradition.

I'm not trying to discredit the topic starter in particular, but rather the whole illusion that "some sets are more BIONICLE than others."

I hope the future holds better things for the sets forum.

Believe it or not, I am a fan of things that are not miserable, depressing, or V.F.D. related. Here I am not speaking of Bionicle, even though anyone who knows me should know that that is my primary creative outlet. I am here speaking of Pokémon.

On July the First I acquired a copy of Pokémon Diamond, whereas Lyi picked up Pokémon Pearl (I love that they come out with these in sets of three-- It makes it easy to keep my two brothers and me satisfied). From now on you may see me post some Pokémon artwork as well as Bionicle, since I do a great deal of both. Let's start with a less-than-impressive edit I cooked up at Lyichir's suggestion.

    Enjoy!

Right as I was preparing to "pimp my blog," I discovered something terrible. All of my folders on Maj... were empty. The other folders were like this as well. I reported it to the news, making no assumptions in case it was merely a fluke, but after returning to Maj I found not the returned folder content, but rather a worse situation: The folders themselves were gone as well!!! If this proves to be a fluke, I will be happy, but as it is I think we ought to brace ourselves for the worst.

EDIT: Alright, it's back. This entry will now be closed.

Although I haven't mentioned it until now, last Tuesday was my school's Latin Banquet. The idea is as follows:

    All Latin students can attend.
Latin I students (and also some Latin II students this year) are "slaves," and are "owned" by Latin II, Latin III, and AP Latin students.
Slave owners can make the slaves do anything within reason for them (i.e. anything legal, ranging from refilling your drink to running around the tables with a smelly sock, screaming, "I'VE GOT THE MAGIC SOCK!").
Everyone wears traditional Roman garb (or the closest thing they can cook up for the occasion).
Everyone brings a traditional Roman dish (or the closest thing they can cook up for the occasion).
Everyone prepares a skit or performance somehow related to ancient Rome. (or the closest... well, you can't really get away with anything that doesn't fit the criteria for this one. But you get the idea.)

Anyway, I may or may not have mentioned what I had been preparing all year for this year's performance. However, even if I haven't, I think I'll let my accomplishment speak for itself.

Americana Crustum Cantus compositus a Don McLean
In sermonem Latinum convertus a Aanchir: Rachira of Time

    Iam diutissime
    Memini adhuc modi
    Quo arridebam musicam
    Et scivi si felix essem
    Ut saltet populum cogerem
    Et fortisan esset beatus aliquam

    Sed Februarius dat mihi frigora
    Reddens omnia acta diurna
    In limine acerbum
    Non gressus diutius sum

    Et non memini an flerem
    Cum de viduā cognoscerem
    Sed aliquid commovit cordem
    Quo musica mortua est

    Vale, Americana Crustum
Egit Chevrolet ad molem sed moles aridum
    Et prisci pueri bibibant temetum
Canens hic est dies nostrorum mortum
    Hic est dies nostrorum mortum

    Scripsistine librum amoris
    Etne Deum sursum versum credis
    Quod Biblia dicit debere te?
    Credisne vibrandam et volvendam?
    Musicane possit servare tuam animam
Et potesne docere modum quo saltas tarde?

    Immo, scio amare te eum
Quod vidi vos saltantes in gymnasium
    Amovetis calceos vestros
    Eheu, amo melancholium numerumque illos!

    Vivebam solitari indomite
    Cum tollente plaustro caryophylloque
    Scivi esse infelicem me
    Quo musica mortua est

    Incipio canere
    Vale, Americana Crustum
Egit Chevrolet ad molem sed moles aridum
    Et prisci pueri bibibant temetum
Canens hic est dies nostrorum mortum
    Hic est dies nostrorum mortum

    Nunc decem annos fuimus soli
Et muscus pinguiscit in lapide pervolventi
Sed illud non modo quod erat
    Cum ioculator cecini regi reginaeque
In paenula mutuā ab Iacobo Vallete
Et voce qui tibi mihique erat

    Et dum ille rex despexit
    Ioculator coronam spinosam cepit
    Basilica ampliata est
    Sententia non redita est

Et dum Lennon lexit Marci opus
    Quattuor meditatus in hortibus
    Et nenias in tenebris cecinimus
    Quo musica mortua est

    Canebamus
    Vale, Americana Crustum
Egit Chevrolet ad molem sed moles aridum
    Et prisci pueri bibibant temetum
Canens hic est dies nostrorum mortum
    Hic est dies nostrorum mortum

    Nolens-volens in aestatis ardore
    Aves evolaverunt cum tegmine
Octo milia passuum altus cadens celeritate
    Egressus est in gramine
    Lusores temptaverunt pilam prorsus iacere
Cum ioculatore in fulcro in latore

Nunc, intercapedinis aer erat dulcis odor
    Dum sagati canibant cantus incedendo
    Omnes surreximus ut saltemus
    O, sed numquam potestatem habuimus

    Quod lusores temptaverunt aream capere
    Symphonia recusavit cedere
    Quid recluserit revocasne
    Quo musica mortua est?

    Incipimus canere
    Vale, Americana Crustum
Egit Chevrolet ad molem sed moles aridum
    Et prisci pueri bibibant temetum
Canens hic est dies nostrorum mortum
    Hic est dies nostrorum mortum

O, et omnes sumus in loco
    Aetas pertata in spatio
    Cum non tempore reliquo quo
Ioannes es agilis, Ioannes es citum
    Ioannes Fulgor sedit in candelabrum
Quod ignis est solus amicus diabolo

O, et dum spectavi eum in tabulis
Mei manus comprimuntur in pugnis furoris
    Non angelus inferorum posuerunt
    Frangere Satan incantatamentum

Et dum flammae ascenderunt in noctem
    Accensum ritum sacrificalem
    Vidi Satan beate ridentem
    Quo musica mortua est

    Canibat:
    Vale, Americana Crustum
Egit Chevrolet ad molem sed moles aridum
    Et prisci pueri bibibant temetum
Canens hic est dies nostrorum mortum
    Hic est dies nostrorum mortum

Obviam puella quam maeste cecinit ivi
    Et eā bona nuntia petivi
    Sed conversa est subridetque
    Subivi ad sacram tabernam
In quo audiveram iam dudum musicam
Sed vir ibi dixit musicam non canere

    Et in viae, liberi vagiebant
    Amantes flebant, poetae somniabant
    Sed non verbum est dictum
    Campanae omnes fractae sunt

    Et tres quos maxime amamus
    Pater, Filius, et Sanctus Spiritus
    Ceperunt hamaxostichon ad litus
    Quo musica mortua est

    Canibamus:
    Vale, Americana Crustum
Egit Chevrolet ad molem sed moles aridum
    Et prisci pueri bibibant temetum
Canens hic est dies nostrorum mortum
    Hic est dies nostrorum mortum

Some things are either too important or too dangerous to give up, and V.F.D. is sadly one of them. The Sugar Bowl's back, with as much misery and overall danger as before.

I dunno, it seems that working for V.F.D. is a bit of a gloomy pasttime. This blog is hereby dedicated to all the unicorns and fuzzy animals that everyone loves.

Tomorrow's my birthday! Which means tomorrow's Lyichir's birthday as well!

I really am not doing much to celebrate, although I am going to Rome over spring break. But as of right now, I should be available tomorrow.

Just thought I'd keep you informed, since I'm such a new member.

It appears I won't be entering this BBC contest either. Ever since Dad cleaned the basement (that's where we keep all of our LEGO stuff), the box where we keep Bionicle armor has been missing. Of course, I have plenty in my room, but not enough to make the MOC I was intending to make, a Toa Metru Kaita. I've made one before that was pretty good, so I was confident in my ability to make another, but as it is, it seems very unlikely that it will be ready for this contest.

This is the third official contest I've missed in a row. I really need to get back on track.

    Dear Readers,
Here we are at the thirteenth art contest, which is undeniably the most unfortunate art contest so far. To celebrate, Lyichir and I are preparing a special, Mahri-Nui themed artwork. Be prepared.

While you wait, be sure to check out my far less threatening Lemon Club Challenge entry.

Unlike some authors whose faces are never seen, I have taken the liberty of showing my real appearance to the public, despite the dangers that such a decision may pose to my life or my organization. However, I am confidsent that anyone who has remained loyal to this blog is either a volunteer or an innocent, chronically depressed bystander. If you are a villain, I advise you to read no further, since the picture in the following link is not that of the elusive Aanchir, but rather that of a harmless fellow whose name I shall not put at risk. If you are a volunteer, read on, so that you might recognise me if you manage to locate me. If you are volatile, I hope this blog has provided you with enough evidence toward the nobility of our side. If you are ChocolateFrogs, you already know what I look like, and it makes no difference whether you click the link or not.

    Here I am.

Now, feel free to continue your lives in your voluntary, villainous, volatile, or ChocolateFroglike ways, and to avoid this miserable blog in the future.

I need some advice. I have recently made another attempt at making a permanent Human-styled Bionicle topic. However, it is not doing so well, since it is already on the second page and I, being the last poster, can not bring it back to the first page when I upload new art. My question is how do you make a permanent artwork topic? Lady Kopaka, Brave Dragon, and Nikira each have compiled their artwork in topics that do amazingly welll at staying alive, as have many other members. If you have a permanent artwork topic, could you give me some tipsa on how to keep one alive? Thanks in advance.

Hello. If you are reading this then you are not only in a large minority intent on self-inflicted misery, but you may also be a reader of my epic, Frost Rising. Regardless, you are probably interested in finding the answer to one question: What is Sebald Code?
Let's begin with a little history. Sebald code is named for its inventor, a volunteer named Dr. Gustav Sebald. Dr. Sebald was a reputed filmmaker who is well known for his production of movies such as Ghosts in the Desert, Goblins in the Garden, Mummies in the Jungle, Lions in the Mountains, Vampires in the Retirement Community, Leeches in the Lake, Werewolves in the Rain, Surgeons in the Theater, Gorillas in the Fog, Bats in the Train Station, Ants in the Fruit Salad, Zombies in the Snow, Hypnotists in the Office, Bigfoot in the Mall, Alligators in the Sewer, Realtors in the Cave, and The Littlest Elf. He was rarely featured in popular media besides his own, possibly due to his participation in the Volunteer Fire Department, yet his participation also earned him recognition on both sides of the schism that rocked its foundations. The Sebald Code was a method he invented to hide secret messages in his films, which were to be viewed by fellow volunteers to alert them of impending danger. Sadly, Dr. Sebald passed away for unknown reasons. Criminal activity such as arson or drowning is suspected, specifically from members from the opposite side of the schism.
The Sebald Code is an obcure code, yet a simple one to master. The Sebald Code is present in passages or films where it is introduced by the ringing of bell. The word immediately following the bell as well as every eleventh word afterwards are all code words. The coded message ends when another bell is rung. Therefore, if the passage in question was...

...then the secret message is "Bionicle Rex likes cheese," and you know that the Evil Lord Survurlode is planning an attack. However, if the passage was...

...then the secret message is "brakelattabasaasta feed me," and you know that there is a villainous spammer who is out to get you.
With this knowledge in hand, please post comments in this entry, and practice your newfound skills decoding the secret message in Chapter Six of Frost Rising.

This Shakespearean sonnet is another excerpt from my commonplace book:

The V.F.D., we are a noble group
    Concerned with many villainous affairs.
    The misery, it threw us for a loop;
We mostly volunteer because we're scared.

Our mission is as righteous as the day---
To rid the world of destructive fire.
If arsonists and villains get their way,
Then chances are we never will retire.

    Of secrets we would like to keep a few;
Much agonizing truth we must restrain,
And many we shall even keep from you
Until the world is quiet once again.

The villainy of man is what we fear,
And that, my friend, is why we volunteer.

Check back for more posts and content blocks extracted from my commonplace book.

This doesn't even mention some great picture book authors or others whom I have neglected to mention.

Why do people seem to avoid my topics nowadays? Noone's posted in my last two blog entries, and 1/3 of the comments I do have were made by yours truly. My entries may be unpleasant, but they're not dangerous.

My art topic, A Perfect Couple, has been dramatically updated and few people seem to care. I mean, there are still AC12 entries on the FIRST PAGE! I'm only on the second and I still get ignored!

While I'm at it, here's a link to my latest topic, Whekkies! Try to post on it before it drifts away.

Many things can be overlooked in our lives, but the work of a friendly blogger should not be one of them.

Yesterday afternoon I found out from a friend that the 5th Artemis Fowl book was out. On Mom's way home, Lyichir called her to ask if she could pick up a copy at Borders. She couldn't find it, but she did find another book off our wish list: The Beatrice Letters.

The book is arranged like a two pocket portfolio, one pocket for "Letters" and another for "Letters". In the "Letters" pocket is the book itself, whereas the "Letters" pocket contains a folder that may be indispensible, a word which here means, "essential and necessary," to decoding the letters that are ironically placed in the "Letters" folder. The book contains many unpleasant things, which include a two-hundred page book about a dreadful revelation, love letters, "My Silence Knot," bats, a brae-man, letters of the alphabet, the Baudelaire orphans, secret compartments, business letters, hatpins, and root-beer floats.

This book, like The Unauthorized Autobiography, answers a lot of questions you ASOUE fans may have been asking, and more that noone had thought to ask, even hinting at the answer to the greatest mystery of all, "Who is Beatrice?"

Yet, in classic ASOUE style, these answers do not clear up all of your questions, instead providing you with even more, which we only hope we will find answers to in Lemony Snicket's final book, The End.

This picture is based on the pics that Lady K uploaded of herself recently. She said I could post it, but I didn't know what forum to put it in. Lyichir suggested that I put it in my blog, so here it is!

I've been practicing recently, so... yeah, post comments and criticism.

In my last entry, I shared my first two BIONICLE 2015 set reviews for The New Elementary. Now, I can share the third and final (for now, at least). Check out my review of 70778 Protector of Jungle, 70780 Protector of Water, and 70781 Protector of Earth right here!

In addition, I've managed to draw something I'm really proud of for the first time in months! Check out my drawing of Gali - Master of Water right here in the General Art subforum!

I'd love to draw some other BIONICLE characters, including maybe one of the Protectors I got, though I might want to wait to see if we learn anything more about their individual personalities in case that might inspire a particularly fitting pose.

So I saw the new Ninjago episode tonight! It was pretty intense. The series is definitely moving towards a conclusion that will do the series as a whole justice. A short summary of the coolest parts and my thoughts follow:

In other Ninjago news, I found a Japanese online shop today that had descriptions of next year's Ninjago sets. I obviously can't share this on BZPower since this site probably wasn't supposed to disclose this so soon... but at the same time, it gives some insights into how the story Masako told might relate to the upcoming sets and the story that ties in with them. It won't be too long before we get to that point in the TV series, and at that point the next wave of sets might be officially revealed so I can discuss some of these particular observations.

Also, anyone want a wallpaper of the NRG Ninja from the LEGO Ninjago sets? Because I got one, and it looks great on my new laptop:

Click here to visit the topic in the General Art forum!

also jeez somebody post in the Ninjago: Master of Spinjitzu TV Series Discussion Topic already. It's been a week since anyone's posted there, and ten days since anyone other than me posted there! And new episodes have started airing again!

On the last day of the entry period, I completed my second drawing for the Flash Fire contest. The venerable Turaga Vakama can be found in the same topic as my Jaller drawing which I mentioned in the previous entry.

It feels good to have completed two entries, but if the entries before I had submitted my own were good, the ones that followed in the final hours of the entry period included several that could only be described as stellar. Truly I'm having a hard time deciding what to vote in any of the categories!

Flash Fire voting has begun, and there's a lot of talent in all three polls. My entries are Entry 8 in the Matoran poll and Entry 10 in the Turaga poll, but there are many other entries I would consider voting for including Entries 3 and 12 in the Matoran poll and Entry 11 in the Turaga poll. Later today I'll probably come to a decision on which entries I should give my votes to, but it's a tough decision even knowing all the hard work I put into my two submissions.

Overall, I'm certain that whichever entries end up on display at Brickfair will fully deserve it! For such a quick contest, I'm surprised how many more artists let their talents shine here than in the Battlescapes contest. Guess it's just a subject more artists could find inspiration in!
