  4. What an emotional week my mom and I had -personal stuff. D: Yesterday, the plumber came and installed our new dishwasher, new pipes under the sink, new garbage disposal, and installed the small water line for the refrigerator. The good news is that everything works; the bad news is that we got a leak in the wall, and this was after dad cleaned up the area under the sink. :annoyed2: On other news, I have almost everything I need for my pirate costume! 5. I'm in your poll, too - but congratulations on a great entry! ~GNG
  6. Thank You! My original idea was much more serious, but I like my actual entry's theme better. Update! My entry has... 8 votes! That's 4.88% of the total, but hey, it's a start.
  7. I do plan on coloring it later. After all, it's Wonderland, it's supposed to be colorful. I hope you have better luck next time. *gives Aanchir a four-leaf clover* ~ GNG
  8. How Cute! Our Cat: Felix, once our former neighbor's cat. After we moved, Felix missed us so much that he came, too! We also met the neighborhood's cat, AG. The latter went to that great cat paradise in the sky, but Felix is still around. We don't have a dog, but my cousin has two BIG dogs. I used to be scared of them, but that was when I was their [the dogs'] size.

  10. Welcome to October, in Gali Nuva Girl Style! Rather than write a long introduction, I'll get straight to the topics. Ride 'em, Cowgirl! The San Dimas Rodeo Our first attraction is the San Dimas's Western Days and Rodeo. During the first weekend, this town celebrates its past, while my Bethel hosts a knick-knack booth as our fundraiser. Rodeo 2007 Everyone Party! Rainbow and Demolay Installations The Shrine Halloween Dance Meanwhile, we have many chances to party this month: California Assemblies and Chapters have their formal installations, and in many cases there are dances. However, the major party comes on the last friday of October... Put on your costume & get in the bus we're going to L.A.! This party, hosted by the local Shriners, is filled with masonic youth, free treats, and contests. Shrine Dance 2007 This is Halloween... How my family enjoys the season As children, my brother and I would visit Knott's Berry (Scary) Farm and Legoland, and my schools (k-6 and then 7-12) would have their respective celebrations. Disney never did much until their "Haunted Mansion Holiday" and now the whole theme, "Halloween Time." Our house is also flooded with lights and decorations: my dad once helped to build the annual haunted house for his area, but now he uses those skills for a child-friendly version. With these decorations, and music on Halloween night, our house is the most popular on the street.
  11. I had to do dozens of labs today -they are due on tuesday, and I waited because I wanted to start reading chapter 3. My Lesson: Don't wait. Just do. Also, I realized that I have a lot more work to do for my Political Science report than I anticipated: I thought it was going to be more like a history report, but when I explained what I was going to do, my mom was surprised and my brother (who took three english classes before he wrote a major report) was just shocked: "What are you doing?!" Fortunately, I was able to find a way to work my theme (tax-exempt organizations to faith-based initiatives) After I post this, I'm going to post my official October Entry (which will be republished yearly.)

    96!

That's terrible: When one thing gets better, something terrible happends. It's happened to me before, and the only thing you can do is keep positive. ~GNG
  13. Magnificent! I can't wait to see more! ~GNG
  14. Aye, I've used a camera. I'd just rather use a scanner. ~GNG
  15. *Reads entry* I just got an idea... This would be my first one. Sadly, we don't have a scanner. GNG
  16. Update 1: I found my mp3! I had merely forgotten where I last put it. Now I can focus on finding that jacket. Update 2: I got my molding for the retainers on Monday -more icky paste, but this one didn't stick to my teeth like hard candy. I also got to choose the color of the plastic. (Transparent purple.) The LA County Fair Every September, the fairplex near my high school is packed with rides, shops, and many locals and tourists. The Fair also has other permanent parts to it: The rides are hosted by the company RCS. (we don't know what it means, but our guess is "Really Crazy Stunts." ) We don't go on the rides that often.Food: Basically, every booth here is fast food. Much of it are ethnic delights, fish, bar-be-qued pork, and others. Then we get into the "strange fried food" category. Older items include fried twinkies/oreos, and another booth has really weird stuff: chicken-and-Krispe-Kreme sandwitch, fried frog legs,* and now fried coke. We stayed in the "fast food" category.Garden: Besides the minigardern contest, the central building has a theme -this year's took us to Italy, if only for a moment.Museums: The Fairplex hosts the Hotrod Association, but we always visit the Millard Sheets Art Museum. (Sheets was art director for the Fair) It also has an annual theme: this time, The Tapestry of Life focused on Sheet's life work.Education Expo: Usually, there is some vague theme (vague, because none of the entries are made with the theme in mind), and then there are contests for collections (that did include Bionicle, but not this year), science projects, and plenty of art.Home Arts: Similar to the Ed Expo, minus the theme and collections. It used to be where the Hotrods are now, and its current location are the rooms where the high school entries once stood. (As a result, there is less in both venues). For some reason, the Home Art's Table Setting contest is my favorite, and I want to enter... my current idea starts with a resounding "Arrr!" Anyway, I was realy happy with this year's entries, and the Best in Show had "Dr. Suess" as its theme.Shopping: Basically, it's "mall colides with flea market." Last year, it also took over the theme building: Where it would once have amazing display about a subject (aviation, dragons, music) and that subject would set a theme for their souviners. Now, it has ice skating (not free), photos with Santa, and then the shopping.

    No!

I can't believe it! I lose track of my brown hoodie, and then I realize today that my mp3 is not where it is supposed to be! This is what tends to happen when I get busy: stuff goes everywhere, and when my world stops spinning, I could spend days (or even weeks!) trying to find my stuff. It is very frustrating, because I try so hard to not forget things: For example, I'd always check the back of my chair and the floor before I'd leave the computer lab, because that is where I always put my stuff when I sit down. When I use my mp3, I always keep the actual device near my hand or in my pocket (and my hand in that pocket). When I don't carry my mp3, I'd always put it on my desk in our office. I had four days of being busy: Sunday (initiation at my Assembly), Monday (initiation at Citrus Assembly), Tuesday & Wednesday (meetings for my Assembly and my Bethel), and then on Thursday I trudged to school again. So many places to lose track of stuff, and my mind goes completely blank. Coming later (Hopefully Today): Insane rides! Fried Greaseballs! All this and more as GNG describes the fair.October: Youth groups "kick it up a notch," and the holiday season begins.
  18. Same here! Then I'd have to write about it (even if I didn't publish anything). Bink, just enjoy it. We'll know what you see eventually. ~ GNG
  19. We got a fourth petition for Rainbow yesterday! Introducing House Hijinks I'll use it as we fix the house, move, etc. Also, I'm now going start posting a few articles about my area. Here is the first: EDIT: We can create gallery albums now?
  20. My Assembly has two new members, plus another person about to join! Now that I have the announcement out of the way, I can elaborate on the actual event. What is an Initiation? In Rainbow, the ceremony is used to describe what Rainbow values as an organization. It's theatrical storytelling, and the journey to find the Pot of Gold is its crux. Each color represents an important lesson (From Red to Violet: Love, Religion, Nature, Immortality, Fidelity, Patriotism, and Service), and the Pot of Gold can represent the members' heritage. Our Assembly is small, but with plenty of help from local Assemblies we filled almost every station. Afterwords, we ate a pizza lunch. We also turned in an application from one of my friends -she recently moved close enough that she'd be able to attend as a member!
  21. Oh, boy! I dressed up for my area's Faire, only I used stuff from thrift stores and from Wal-Mart. And I played the pennywhistle. However, I still wish that I knew how to sew. ~ GNG
  22. I got sick when my Rainbow group was supposed to do something with the Demolay boys. (March 2006) It felt terrible. I only got sick once this year, when my family and I got caught in the rain in San Diego. As for art supplies... I have a lot of pencils, but they are old. ~ GNG
  23. A happy birthday gift for you! ~GNG
  24. Aye, it be none other than Talk Like a Pirate Day!
