  1. The expression of the other guy in that picture is priceless. On another note... where are all these pictures of Omi coming from?
  2. I haven't even followed the story since 2005ish, so I don't know the origins of the Bohrok. If they're really that bad, I'm glad I don't know. About "Teridax"... yeah, I definitely agree on that. Creating an entire Brotherhood of Makuta watered down the original, real Makuta's image. And I would have preferred that he remained unnamed, but if Greg HAD to name him, why couldn't it be a Polynesian-esque name? Just for him? I don't mind these poorly disguised English words on other characters, but Makuta? What bugs me more than the story, though, is the sets, and how they've gone from innovative, incorporating cool functions (see: Rahi, Boxor, Bahrag) to sets with no functions whatsoever. Unfortunately that is what kids today are like. People want to rush straight ahead to the finished set, shoot some flashy missiles for a few minutes, "pose" them on a shelf and then go back to their consoles for the rest of the day. LEGO has to cater for this generation as best they can if they want to make money and unfortunately for us this is the way forward. - Sidorak
  3. I would be so depressed if I could honestly describe myself in 3 words.
  4. I think the comment above yours speaks for itself. -Omi I think he was talking about pictures of you.
  5. Split it with me kthxbai To stimulate discussion... Maybe members in addition to asking yes/no questions should ask why they choose this or that for more discussion. I love sandwiches! Uh... yeah. I think it would be a good idea for topics starters to ask that. Anyone else have thoughts on this?
  6. I know a Candice, and she is very cool, down-to-earth, and fun to be around. I also know an Emily, and she's a stuck-up snitch. So, go for Candice.

    Brickfest

Nice! Do you know anything else about it, such as when it will be? I should have my license by the end of the year, so I might be able to drive up there. :evilgrin2: That is all I know. I shrugged off other details cuz it didn't strike my attention cuz of distance. -Omi I see. I suppose I'll wait for more details next Spring.
  8. As per Omi's suggestion, I am posting this here. It will be interesting to see who replies to this. Personally, I'm expecting more blog people to read/comment on it, but we'll see. - - - - - I have been thinking about this idea for some time. Please carefully read and consider this post. Instead of locking them, the staff should leave some of the topics that would normally be closed in favor of a poll open to encourage discussion. Before you get ahead of me, I am NOT suggesting that all topics in GD that have less than 10 possible answers should be left open. Topics like this should indeed be closed. Those kinds of topics that ask simple questions really are best as polls. Polls are good because they give a visual representation of how the choices break down; it's easier to see how popular one option is compared to another. And polls automatically calculate the percentage of members that voted for each choice. That kind of data is useful when you're dealing with those types of straightforward questions. However, topics such as this provide plenty of opportunity for meaningful discussion. Look at the variety of replies in the topic; they aren't yes or no answers, there are many different viewpoints that can't really be captured in a poll. Sure, you can water any question down by phrasing it in a way that creates "Yes" or "No" answers, but that's not always the best choice. If you look at the poll that was made for that topic, the discussion has been stifled and the number of replies have been reduced. That's because the "Voting Booth mentality" is to click on a topic, vote, and maybe write a short answer. Leaving topics that have discussion potential in GD open would encourage in-depth discussion. B) Also, when there is an important topic or a particularly interesting question, it also attracts more attention in GD than it would in the Voting Booth. Word to the GD staff: Please consider leaving a few potential poll-topics open to promote discussion: it doesn't hurt to leave one open now and then! Word to the regular members: Is each topic with less than 10 theoretical answers always better as a poll? No. Please remember this and use your judgment decide whether the question really would be better in the form of a normal topic before suggesting that the topic starter PM a member on the poll-making team. To summarize: Some topics should be locked in favor of a poll.HOWEVER, leaving some of these topics open encourages discussion. Remember, BZPower: BIONICLE News, Reference, and Discussion. And before you tell me that all suggestions for the site should be PMed to Black Six - this isn't just a suggestion. I want to open it up for discussion and hear what other members have to say about it. I look forward to hearing the views of both staff members and normal members.
  9. I love watching baseball and basketball. Fighting, too, just because it's so hilarious.

    Texting

If you shouldn't be doing it then why are you? Because class is boring. Seriously, though, it isn't that bad. I text once in a while, but only if someone texts me. I don't usually initiate it, even though I have no problem texting while in class. I do have a problem with people who text while driving, though.

  12. That set is worth about $120 now. I have 2 of those chrome drill parts from my old Rock Raiders sets. They're surprisingly difficult to integrate into an MOC. You'll probably find a way, though.
  13. FORUMZ umwat BtB Hahahaha, I remember that back from my old days on FORUMZ?. Didn't realize it was still around. I gotta check this out. - Sidorak
  14. I don't really like either kneecap, they both seem to bend at an awkward angle. The head's decent, though.
  15. Wut? See here... that's the April 2003 news archive. Basically they gave a first look at the Rahkshi using pictures from the old promo CD-ROMs. It was one of the first features I remember as well.

    Tsc Voting!

Poll A: Eddie Poll B: Horse of the Sea Poll C: Treehugger
  17. You have a washing machine next to your computer??? That's the kind of configuration I need... I hate juggling laundry and schoolwork, because I'm constantly walking across the house.
  18. I like it. It's completely different and unique. That slanted dark blue piece caps the head off really nicely.
  19. I think it's an stupid thing to spend time on. "LEGO with an s" has become part of American slang, and instead of trying to correct others, people should just let it go. There are more important things to worry about.
