  1. Hm...well, Gali's entire stat set is designed around abusing the Suletu as a metagame counter (most fighters above Class B are high-minded gunslingers/wizards), so there's little reason for me to want to raise her mind stat. I guess I might consider upgrading her if the Suletu and Kadin were available in Nuva, but it's not really that high on my list of priorities.
  2. Glad to hear your motivation's back. I know that feeling of apathy better than I sometimes care to admit. As you often do, you adapted my vague ideas better than I'd expected. Ren and Trynahk turned out very well, especially Ren's advice to Xyla.
  3. Certavus and Dragon Bolt, purely because I like their designs. Not that we can actually see them in the arena, but it's nice daydream fuel.
  4. So it looks like Class C is the new Class B. We shall meet on the field of battle!
  5. Gali's my only option, so I guess I'll enter her. Gali: Hissss.... Electro: Whew, finally some downtime. Well, no point having all these spare widgets laying around during a tournament: I'll buy Gali three +2s in toughness, which should be just enough to stay in Class C. If I miscalculated and this purchase will put Gali in Class D, please cancel the transaction.
  6. Oh Canis, just look what you've started. Considering that the opening post is already over 4,000 words, I'm curious how many new players will actually take the time to read all these tips. Considering that the same main points keep coming up, is there a way we could compile everything into one list?
  7. Bulik and I have agreed to a match, Gali vs. Granite, 2,000W each. This match will be calculated using Granite's new stats.
  8. Let's go Nektann and Corroder. I assume the latter would have an affiliation with acid when he reforges?
  9. Let's see... I'd like +2s in strength and toughness for Gali.Gali and Electro are available for matches.
  10. Um, Vox, it's a champion match, so there are no wagers and it's set to the default arena like other tournament battles. So there's not really anything you need to discuss with Canis before posting your strategy.
  11. Sorry for the wait guys. Confirming training match with Wraith, 600W. @WraithI have to say, there is a lot of good stuff here. Using fire to augment Lava's agility is an excellent idea; one of the main advantages of having a high mind is that it can be used to supplement the fighter's other stats (elemental propulsion --> agility, barriers --> toughness, "charged" or "cloaked" weapons --> strength, etc.). I notice that, despite his high mind, you tend to play Lava as more of a close-range brawler. While that can work if you incorporate Lava's element into his attacks, it also limits Lava's options if he can't get in close. It might be a good idea to use long-range attacks to get more damage in early on and provide "cover" for Lava until he gets in close. I'm not sure how well the bit with Lava flying will work, but I'll leave that up to Pahrak to decide. Is there anything else you would like feedback on? Strategy against Wraith: Also confirming match with Vox, 1,500W. Strategy against Vox: Pahrak, I think you might have forgotten to add the money from the match with Canis to my total.
  12. Wish I could offer to temp for you, but weekends are always really busy for me.
  13. Come into my parlor said the Slizer to the...humanoid shark thing? Strategy against Pridak:
  14. Thank you for the match, Zakaro, your strategy was excellent as usual. Now that I have enough money to not go completely bankrupt from it, I would like to buy a Staff of Plasma, please.
  15. Zakaro and I have agreed to a match: Gali vs. Breez in the Iron Canyon. I will be contributing 2,000W while Zakaro will be betting 650W. Strategy:
  16. Yeah, the Star Force trilogy always struck me as Battle Network meets TWEWY (with a little mahou shounen thrown in there). Definitely a step up from Battle network in that the main character actually had flaws to overcome (Lan always seemed incredibly bland to me), and the bosses from the first game also had genuine insecurities that drove them to do what they did. Unfortunately, the second and third games followed a generic "possession" plotline: I could see Yeti Blizzard coming a mile away, Gerry's motivation seemed really weak, and Terra Condor was just...off (bowdlerization probably had something to do with that last one). The Dealers kind of saved the last game, in my opinion.
  17. Yeah, I figured that would happen between Kopaka's insane mind and the Staff of Silence. Good match, Vox. Also, I think Vox might have mislabeled his half of the Electro vs. Von Nebula match, unless he's having another match with Pulsate. So that one's probably ready to be judged too.
  18. @Vox Wait a second, isn't the Staff of Silence banned from tournaments? If not, I've got some major editing to do.Never mind, wrong match. Confirming match with Vox. Strategy:
  19. @Vox Yes, sorry about that. I intended to post my strategy for that match earlier, but ultimately ended up prioritizing champion matches. We can negotiate the widgets for that match via PM. Strategy against Flare: Strategy against Von Nebula:
  20. @Pulsate *againt a backdrop of flames* VON IS NOT A FIRST NAME!(Sorry, incorrect German word usage sets me off for some reason).Well, now that that's sorted out, would you care for a champion match? I'll extend the same offer to Vox, too.
  21. @Dual Electro: "Who, me? Isn't the sponsor usually supposed to handle this?" *from offscreen* Electro, you're not turning down a champion battle, are you? Electro: "No, master." Strategy against Onua: @SonicBOOM Thank you for the match. Considering that elemental effectiveness is determined by mind, I imagine that the lightning went through Skrall's defenses fairly easily. It's sort of like trying to stop a tsunami with paper towels.
