  1. Wow, this is a very pleasant surprise behind-the-scenes reveal! Funny thing is, my original headcanon for the MoC when it was first described was an exact cross between the first concept art and the final design. Yeah, my favorites would definitely be the two I just mentioned for the above reason. I especially love how the first concept art looks like something out of a fantasy MMO and it would have been cool if it had ended up being the final product. Of course, I'm pretty sure it'd be impossible to shrink that down to a walnut-sized piece of plastic without massive quality loss, so I think the final design is the perfect shoice. I would love it if the new sets have moving gear parts like the early years. It's one of the things I miss the most.
  2. Based on where the serials left them, they were apparently living together with the Agori in whatever temporary settlement, hence the need for Tahu, Ackar, and Kiina to constantly have to mediate between them. And while the illusion Sahmad landed in obviously didn't happen, I can't help but feel that it hints that an Agori/Matoran mixed society will happen, especially since that's the very first mention we get of a New Atero. How the heck Annona picked up on MU inhabitants is another story I'll save for some other time. EDIT: Never mind; I forgot that Sahmad's Tale extends past the Mata Nui-Makuta battle.
  3. *cough cough* They were. (Possibly one of my proudest achievements in canonization...) Heheh, yeah, I found that out when I finally had time to check BS01 again yesterday, oops. It would rather break believability if Takanuva didn't change with his experience. I mean, people mature-up when stuff happens right? I know, but I'd expect at least some baseline stuff sticks around. In fact, I do like that maturation that happened to him as someone who's naturally fond of character development. It's just that we weren't shown much, if any, of his more light-hearted side after the shadow leech business. Actually, the last time we were ever shown his sweeter nature was 2006. I get trauma can change a person, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't usually make you turn a complete 180; that only happens in fiction. Oh wait... Granted, the situations he got dropped in both literally and figuratively didn't exactly call for much besides seriousness, but come on, the Toa Nuva had at least a few lighter moments in Karda Nui, not to mention they saw more action in the main story even when their sets were no longer relevant at the time (*cough* first half of 2006 *cough*). Bluh, I think I'm just annoyed even after all these years about how little of Takanuva we get to see (especially how we were never shown how Solek reacts to him, I mean, come on! why even mention they were best friends if you weren't planning to show even a second of reunion?), which is understandable given the sheer volume of characters. I guess that's my one real regret about the serial's discontinument; there is literally no chance of us seeing any more post-war Taka. I would have loved to see the "insatiable curiosity" aspect of him again in addition to how he'd interact with the Glatorian and Agori. Oh well, I'm just gonna hope that regardless what 2015 holds, we get more fleshing out for him, reboot or otherwise.
  4. I will forever regret not getting the Toa Nuva when I had the chance. I don't even remember why I didn't, but I never stopped berating myself every time I see a an '03 Nuva set image. I would also say Takanuva, but the thing was I never found a set for him and I don't believe Internet shopping was as big a thing back in the day so it never occurred to 8-year-old me to try that. But I shall probably be remedying that soon, so I should be completing my Taka collection soon enough (if you don't count Takua).
  5. I should probably try grabbing a 2003 Takanuva before the price goes completely through the roof. >.<;
  6. Wow, this pretty much 2010 in reverse. o_O Anyways, first, welcome to the fandom, Herokid! There's nothing I can say that the others here haven't already, but I'll just add to the choir of please don't throw away your toys! I was myself a little upset when Bionicle ended into 2010 and Hero Factory was being introduced, but that never stopped me from treasuring all the sets I've collected over entire 10 year run. Heck, I was part of the crowd that didn't like Hero Factory initially, but over time the story and characters grew on me, even if it never really pulled me in past the first couple waves. We don't know what Hero Factory's future is right now, though it doesn't seem likely they'll be running alongside Bionicle for long. But please please please do not give up on your interest just because it ends. I assure that it is 100% possible to enjoy both Bionicle and Hero Factory, and honestly you just might find the magic in Bionicle that drew us old timer fans in 13 years ago. So, don't feel sad, okay?
  7. I'm pretty excited about a new writer taking over. At this point in life, I feel like I need a change in scenery from the old one (not that I had a problem with Mr. Farshtey's). Hopefully it keeps to the more all-ages style of writing we've had since 2004. Also, I think people who are afraid the old terms like Toa and Kanohi will be dropped are overthinking things. I don't recall such in-universe words ever appearing in promo material outside of the films, books, and certain card game manuals, so I'm not worried at all. In any case, I'm keeping my fingers crossed this at least won't be a full-on reboot and that there's some amount of continuity. Also, the Turaga thing is sounding reeeeeeeally tempting right now!
  8. My first thought when I saw the video yesterday was that, there is definitely no doubt on the amount of justice done to how the mask was described. It is definitely the most beautiful mask I have ever seen in all these years of being a fan. I really hope that the fact that the design team apparently are going off the story description (that Mr. Farshtey apparently forgot about, lol) means that there will be some continuity to where we left off. Also hope Artakha himself will make an appearance, thought the fact the mask is not on his face is a little worrisome.
  9. I think the spot should stay vacant for reasons everyone else on this end brought up. But I would really like to see dear old Taka working with them again in a more unofficial sense. I just miss their old dynamics (and the classic Takua personality that got faded out of the story in 2008). Now if only we could have the Mahri officially written out of the Skakdi's hands. *grumble*
  10. With Bionicle's imminent return, so too shall my activity here be once again. Maybe...

  11. I love how the whole thing is a big close up on the Mask of Creation. It looks even more beautiful like this! <3
  12. Glad I'm not the only one who thought that! One of the first things I noticed about the close up is the fact that the mouth area looks a lot like how the mouths were designed on most masks in the Miramax movies.
  13. 1. New story on SM shortly after 2010/2011 (nice way to set up new concepts while still having some continuity for us old timer fans) 2. Finish the serials as a side project (sorry, I really need closure on those) 3. A new one; let Lego surprise me (I'm about open to anything at this point)
  14. It would be interesting if it's not. That would bring to question whether Artakha would ever become a set at all since if we REALLY want to get intricate, that would be hard. At most, he'd be a very limited edition set. I'd still hope for him to show up eventually in any case.
  15. I don't mean to rain on your parade, but we don't know for sure if that mask's the Mask of Creation. But I suppose either way once it comes out in a set you can use it for whatever you choose! Rats! I thought I typed in, "if it is his mask." >.<; Anyways, I'm excited either way; it's got to be one of the most beautiful masks I've ever seen. I'm just happy that my childhood is coming back.
  16. Hello, friends, the news of Bionicle's return has summoned me back after centuries of absence. Anyways, I am feeling so ridiculously happy now! I had long ago given up hope of ever seeing any new material, so this news is a very pleasant surprise (again, been dead here for so long I doubt most if not all of you remember me). That mask is just gorgeous, and certainly feels fitting for Artahka (beautiful and wise with a touch of menace). I really hope there's some continuation, but it's of course too early to tell.
  17. I just learned this the hard way when I tried to get on Bionicle Story today for a trip down memory lane. I guess I won't be holding my breath anymore for story updates and finding out what happens next. To be honest, I've moved on from Bionicle a long time ago. That doesn't mean I'm a little sad to see it officially fall off the scene, even though I'm not surprised considering how long Bionicle's been in ailing health. Oh well. My figures are still gracing their shelves in my room and I don't have any plans to get rid of them. I'll just fill in the rest of the story with my imagination just like I had in those moments I wasn't preoccupied with life and/or my new fandoms. Well, this is life; nothing much we can do about it. On a different note, can I have the link to any back-up site? Even though these days I get my story fix from Homestuck updates (heheh, wow I sure got into it later than a lot of people here XD), I still love a good nostalgia trip every now and then. Never mind, there's a link right above my post.
  18. What the heck happened to my display name?! I changed to "Jade Harley", and my name history even has it down. What the heck?

  19. Bluh bluh, yeah, I've entered the Homestuck club. =P

  20. And I'm back from falling off the face of BZP. And just in time to see my questions ready. :biggrin:I was kinda expecting Pinkie to stick her hook up and freeze up [/PatchAdams], but this was even funnier. XDWait, but you haven't gotten the first Klondike--oh screw it! *noms Klondike bar*Gee, you don't think that was Pinkie was reincarnated and that was her past life, do you? >XPAh, seems like we'll have to deal with the most arrogant pony in the universe. And I know arrogant, 'cause I'm Pride. *shadow grins*
  21. City of Wraiths is dead. Constant hiatus and writer's block do not go well together. Not to mention the fact that I was becoming less and less satisfied with my original vision. I sincerest apologies to those of you I recruited to be my cast. D=

Really? Aw... That's a shame. Well, all I have to say is good luck to you!

    City Of Wraiths

Man, I've been gone a while. Sorry, I haven't been able to make progress on the next chapter, due to a major circumstance in my life. At this point in time, I'm recovering from a surgery that removed a fairly large tumor from my brain (I could show you an MRI scan, if you want XP). But don't worry, it was benign and I'm healing pretty quickly (though it has forced me to withdraw from the semester *shudder*. Good thing I have a huge surplus of credit hours.). Hopefully, during the next few months, I'll be able to churn out chapters more regularly. Oh, and please do post if it looks like the 30 day grace is about to end.
  23. Recovering from surgery now. Long story, but I will say it was for a brain tumor.

  24. Because I thought dreads look more biomechanical. I don't think hair exists in the MU. Oh yeah, and I thought the Predator looked great with them in Alien vs. Predator (not the awfulness that was Requiem) which was set in Antarctica. I like the way the Predators looked among hte ice and snow. Yeah, I admit it, I was partly inspired by the Predator. And I was basing it off the Nuva style, because I like it better. I used UDD because I don't know what else to use as a "cutie mark". Oh, and now i know why I put the eyepiece left; his Phantoka incarnation had it on the left, and I had no other reference for Kopaka and I all but forgot what he looked like (as I said, he's not the top of the list of my favorite characters, as cool as he is).
  25. Yeah, I was drawing him from memory (don't have any actual Kopaka sets ) and put it on the wrong side. Plus, I don't actually pay much attention to Kopaka except when he's in the story (I would never make this mistake with Takanuva!). Not really part of his fanclub, plus this is what happens when you wander off from a fandom too long (my Bionicle obssession has faded quite a bit when BP went down, and Bioniclestory stopped updating regularly -.-;Maybe I'll redraw him eventually, (I like his regular eye too much to get rid of it) facing the other way.
