So happy to see you again, especially getting an extra day beforehand once you landed.
Take care!

It was great to spend another event with you. Being able to see everyone again is always fantastic!

Applicability makes so much sense. It's terrible in Literature class when the teacher is trying to force meanings into things (though I also have problems with being forced to look for meanings), especially when they weren't there in the first place. It is, however, entirely acceptable to find things that entered the text without direct purpose simply because of what what happening at the time (like a war going on when Lord of the Rings was written). Influence versus force.

Beard harder with all your might.
As for insulation vs the heat, that little beard will make no difference. Mine is currently trimmed to a pleasant length and I've got no problems.

Glorious!
Good job, everyone!

I should post this to the front page.

Ben, the West Coast is really big. Google says it's almost a 17 hour drive. It's not like we're talking about New York to Washington DC.Hm, I figured you'd drive.
Anyway, can't wait to see you!

Oh. Ha. Look at that. (Added that I clearly don't know where LEGOLAND truly is.)
Hm, I figured you'd drive.

We thought about it once. But it took us 27 hours to get here by car, and granted that was with a trailer and a speed limit we couldn't break because we were towing a car, I don't want to drive that much again. Besides, Maddison needs the car for work, since she's not going.
Calling that a bummer is a major understatement.

I agree entirely. It's different, refreshing, and sounds great!

Just saw this last night. So fun!
Have you seen the trailer for The Man from UNCLE? Comes out in August. Also looks totally fun and sleek.

That sort of reminds me of that skeletal armor. Mark 41 I think? The colors make me think of that one at least
Which one where you going for?
Yup, as TMD said, it's a fairly new armor from the comics (though he's currently wearing all-silver armor).
...but I really dig how you absolutely nailed the colors. Arms seem a little long, though.
Thanks! and yeah, I mentioned needing to extend the torso to fix that.

I didn't know what to expect when you were explaining this to me, but these turned out great! Such a clever idea.
I think enough people will get it when they see your MOC card.

Man walks down the street in that hat, people know he's not afraid of anything.
I don't think the appropriate response is BZP-appropriate, so please allow an alternate Jayne quotation:
"Shiny. Let's be bad guys."

Even if the complete set is just ok, the pieces in this plus the minifigs make me want this. (Despite already having Manhunter, Supes, and a custom Supergirl.)

I think we're beginning to form the makings of a LEGO builder sit-com here! Someone get writing!

Being surrounded by sculptures like that sounds fantastic!
Not surprised about getting fingers cut up or Tahu being yellow...lol!

I would like piece #10, and piece #2 if there aren't enough volunteers.

I'll sign up for a piece! I can probably pull off slot 4, 7, or 10 without needing to make a BrickLink order. Just let me know.

The biggest problem with the Onua mosaic is I can't see his mask. It's just some torso flailing around.
I like Pohatu's the best, as Gali's still seemed fuzzy when zoomed out, but when taking a second look I think it will still be fine (if you can gather 12 slots).
I don't think making the backgrounds greyscale would add anything to the image. As they are, it acts as an elemental backdrop.

I'd be interested, if I'm coming. I'd prefer an iconic shot like a headpiece instead of the island, but I feel like Tahu would be cliche. Maybe Lewa? Whatever is chosen though would be fun to join in on.
I'm also totally fine with doing something old to call back on the roots of Bionicle. But using a still from the current animations makes tons of sense for it being easier.

WOW! Those look great!

You know now we're all expecting all kinds of exclusive LEGOLAND merch and stuff.
Congratulations! That's so cool!

So are you planning to replace any of these with the official ones once they come out? Or just stick with your customs? Also I get a feeling you could really use another minifigure display case! It's getting a little bit cramped inside that one!
I'm looking into getting a larger clear case where I can display all kinds of minifigs.
I'll probably get the Green Arrow fig, because it's cooler than mine, but I think my Cyborg and Hawkman are better. I'm aiming for the Supergirl set.

Learn to make decals so I can ask you to make some for me!
That is a pretty awesome collection of figs. Supergirl, Zatara, and Cyborg are actually all really well done! But where'd you get the SDCC Batman of Zur-En-Arrh?
Sure!
Thanks!
I got it from 55555. Where he got it is his story to tell.

Well it's not very SNOTy, and it's a few years' old. Usually only new things get nominated. I guess people liked a flat space battleship (not like the Yamato, but modern Navy) more than 90's space. :/
Just encouragement to BUILD HARDER.
Indeed! I do like visiting Baltimore, if there's stuff to do. Or DC.
If it was longer, I think cooking our own food would be the best choice, and it would save so much money!
It was great seeing you when we were together though! It's always hard juggling this many people next to so much to do. I meant to hang out with you, and everyone else, more too.
