Uwe Boll makes horrible movies. So horrible it's laughable.

On the other hand, Judd Apatow makes great movies. Step Brothers was hiliarious beyond belief.

And um...going on vacation to New Jersey this Tuesday through the following Wednesday. Going to be a blasty blast.

So if you didn't know already, I'm a movie fanatic. Nearly every weekend I watch at least one movie. And since summer is the best time for movies, I'm spending way too much time (and money - $9 for a ticket here) at the Rave (our theatre).

This weeks big premier was Wanted.

    *mind = blown*

The movie starts off with two intense chase scenes that pull you into the movie's tight grasp. It never seems to let go, until the credits start rolling. This movie had more twists that Shyamalan's latest offering, The Happening (which was a bomb, IMO), and does them well. The ending was amazing.

I've never felt so "called-out" before in my.whole.entire.life. You'd have to see the movie to know what I'm talking about.

Acting was top-notch. Action was top-notch.

Only complain I have is that many of the coolests shots from the movie are shown in the many trailers.

    And hellooooo Angelina Jolie.

After Wanted was done, we pulled a "no-no" and jumped over to the next viewing of Wall-E (Disney doesn't need my money! They've got so much money they made Beverly Hills Chihuahua!). Good movie, quite funny. Though, it would have been better if I hadn't seen this years shoot-em up a few minutes ago.

So yeah, if you're over 17 you should see Wanted. If you can't get into R-rated movies, go see Wall-E.

The Incredible Hulk was an amazing movie. I would say it was right on par with Iron Man, if not a little bit better (Liv Tyler is hotter than whats-her-face.). So anyone who enjoys good action/super hero movies should see this one as well.

I also saw Get Smart this weekend, which was very funny. It was better than Zohan in the sense that Get Smart had an actual plot and action in it.

Oh BTW, I'm the coolest Transformer evar!

Working from 8am to 5pm is getting really old, really fast. Though I have been learning interesting things. I've mostly been rebuilding computers and taking inventory on things, but my sponsor explains some little things every now-and-then.

I suppose I should temporarily quit my other job...so I actually have some time for myself...instead of going straight from the internship to the bookstore.

But once the 10 weeks of the internship is up, I know I'll be rejoicing when my checking account is full.

So today (Thursday, May 29) marks the 5th anniversary of my joining BZP.

    3 years on the Staff.

I've spent five years of my life on this website...strange how we've both changed.

Graduation went by very quickly. I got many compliments on my speech, though my sisters of course had to ruin it by saying I spoke too fast. Afterwards we went to Applebee's (I didn't eat anything because I went to Chili's before the ceremony) then to a friends house and walked around his neighborhood at 11:00 at night.

So far, I've made approximately $1,060 from friends and family. Should be plenty to get a nice laptop in addition to the $700 my parents will pay. I've got to start on some Thank You's

The thing that I'm most excited for is my internship. My step-father works for a company called General Dynamics which hires interns out of high school who are going into the IT/IS field in college. Normally there are numerous other companies that hire kids but this year there were only two - Unisys and GD. Out of about 16 people that were nominated, I was #2 on 'the list.' The first person was hired by Unisys and me, being the second, would have been hired by GD. However, since my step-dad works at GD and is the person that hires the intern, I was not chosen because of a nepotism clause in his contract with his company. I, of course, was dissappointed but I understood the situation.

I found this out early last week. Come Friday, while at Chili's, my brother-in-law tells me that he heard another company was going to hire an intern. After the Graduation ceremony, my step-dad tells me that a company called ICS is going to hire me. I couldn't have been happier. I got the letter in the mail on Saturday. I was chosen as the intern. Not only will I be making $350 a week for ten weeks, I also get a $1000 scholarship. Plus, the benefits of being in intern at ICS; they will know my name and I could very well get a job there sometime in the future. They could also hire me again in the following summer months, which will help pay for other college expenses (tuition is completely payed for since I got a Valedictorian scholarship.)

For the time being, it looks my future is well lit. I'm praying it stays that way.

Of all the things that I don't like doing (which isn't much, honestly), I absolutely detest standing in front of people and giving a speech. I don't know why. I just don't like everyone in a room staring at me. Even if its just a small group, if the attention shifts to me and I start talking, I choke. What's even worse, I consider myself a moderately good speaker. Odd, isn't it? I like writing speeches, yet I dislike standing in front of people to give my speach. *sigh* I guess this is part of what comes with winning Valedictorian honors...

Anywho, these past few days have been amazing. Yesterday mostly. Instead of our Youth Pastor speaking on Wednesday night, he had one of his friends as a guest speaker. He's one of the coolest people I know. My pastor and he were playinig a game of Scrabble when my friends and I walked in and were still arguing over the same word by the time they left to go prepair for service. It was quite hilarious. After service, Pastor Stephen took all of the Seniors out to wherever we wanted to eat. We all decided on Carrabba's Italian Grill, which in the past has been a very delicious place to eat, but didn't seem up to par last night. Anyways, my best friend and I got to talking with our pastor's friend (can't remember his name...) and he was pretty much exactly like us but about 15 years older. Turns out he's a Zombie freak and has got plans in case Zombie's ever do come into existance. He plays the same kind of games, watches same kind of movies, and listens to the same music as we do so naturally conversations started to flow. I wish we could all hang out sometime again...

Grandparents are in town. Haven't seen them in a while. Of course, greatly looking forward to Gram's French Toast Saturday morning. It's to die for.

Going camping Sat. through Mon. with the bros. Should be bunches of fun.

This week marks the last full week of high school for my educational career. Five more days of high school. Five more days in pesky uniforms.

I'm beyond excited. I've been waiting for nearly 2 years to finally take the next step in my life. No more dealing with the same 30-odd classmates every day.

I've been trying to think of what I should write my Valedictorian speech on. I need to get going on that, though.

Hopefully I'll also be able to purchase a laptop this week. My parents are paying about $700, and I'll pick up the rest. I've got a few HPs and a Toshiba I keep looking at, but I haven't made up my mind for sure which one I want yet.
  9. Watashi Wa
I strongly dislike people who think they're cooler than everyone else.

There is always someone cooler than you.

I also dislike it when you say one derrogatory remark to someone, then go back later and tell him that you were "only joking." Most people say that because you know you will get in trouble.

Other than that, nothing really interesting has happened in the month of April. My sister is moving into her new house this week, but that's about it.

    17 more days of school.

Last night was one of the highlights of my life. I went to see (in order of appearance) Cry of the Afflicted, Pierce the Veil, As Cities Burn, Mayday Parade, and Emery.

Now, the whole thing started off in a negative way. We only had one trusted and responsible driver (me), 8 people who wanted to attend the concert, and one vehicle that could only fit 7 people in it. Needless to say, I called everyone up Wednesday and asked if they were really wanting to go to the concert. Eventually, I asked Josh, and he agreed not to go. I felt like such a horrible person, because I knew how much he's been wanting to see these people, just like the rest of us.

Once yesterday got here, we all headed to school, then to the annual "Legacy Kids Walk-a-Thon" that our school puts on. Once that was over, we all met at a friends house around 1:30 pm to head over to Atlanta. We stopped a few places along the way: once for a bathroom break and snack run and another again for a bathroom break and more substantial food. We got into the Atlanta district at probably 5:00 EST (we left 2:30 EST). I, of course, was rather nervous driving in downtown Atlanta traffic, which I had never really driven in before yesteday. Miraculously, the traffic wasn't all that bad, but we still had trouble finding the places. After a few missed turns and crazy U-tfurns, we actually found the venue, called the Masquerade. We parked, then went to pick up tickets and get in line.

We entered in not too long after 6:30 EST, and the first band, Cry of the Afflicted, started not too long after that. Of course, upon first entering the place, we headed straight for the merch booth. I picked up an Emery and a Cry of the Afflicted shirt right off the bat. When I bought the COTA shirt, I met one of the people actually in the band. Turns out he was the lead singer/screamer. I was going to go back and congratulate him later on such an awesome performance, but I never got the chance.

I had never really listened to the next band, Pierce the Veil, but anyone who can cover Michael Jackson's "Beat It" in such a way as that is good in my books.

As Cities Burn, on the other hand, was fantastic. They played every song I wanted including "This is it", "Empire", "Wrong Body" and even through in an oldie for us real fans, "Bloodsucker Pt II" as their finale.

Mayday Parade was entertainging, but again, they would have been better to me if I knew some of their songs.

Emery, on the other hand, absolutely owned face. I really have no other way to put it other than that was the best show I think I will ever see. On more than one occasion, the whole band switched instruments and played more songs. The screamer/pianist pretty much walking on the crowd with their support. At any one time during Emery's show, at least two people were crowd-surfing and there was at least one mosh pit going. The whole crowd was jumping, swaying, head-banding, and singing to every song they played. They played a few of my favorites including "Walls" (final song), "Studying Politics" (encore), "What Makes a Man a Man", "The Party Song", and "The Ponytail Parades."

    Three words: best.show.ever.

The bassist/back-up singer from Emery actually left a message on Josh's phone, since he couldn't make it to the show. However, the shirt all 7 of us pitched in to buy for him was stolen amidst all the pushing and shoving. I also didn't get to meet any of the band members because my sister wante do wait until -after- the show, when the lines are longest, to buy a t-shirt.

But there will definately be more chances to meet them.

We didn't get back in town until 2:15 am, Central time.

I've probably got the largest case known to mankind. It's gotten to the point where I don't pay one bit of attention in class.

Why do all the teachers have to decide to give us one last test before spring break? Physics, Brit. Lit, College Algebra, and Vocab all tomorrow? Geez, people.
  12. Watashi Wa
As you've probably noticed by scanning the blog index, today was "Pi Day." I recently read a comic that is summarized like this: "Everyone should know at least the first two or three digits of Pi. Scientists can get by with knowing about ten to fifteen digits. Anyone who knows more than that are just "meanies.'" (Except it said a different word there.) Seriously, if there's ever a need to know more than a few digits of pi, let me know.

    Anywho, onto other numbers.

I aced Physics with a 91, English with a 93 and College Algebra with a 90. Once again, I'm the only straight 'A' student in my Senior class. I've also received confirmation that I am the Valedictorian of my class. But don't tell anyone else, because I'm not supposed to know.

6 days untill the Emery concert!!

1 week untill Spring Break! So far, I plan on going down to Mobile with friends to stay at my sisters hosue on the bay. Not much to do in Mobile, but it will be much better than staying in Montgomery all week long. <<

    8 weeks untill Graduation!

BTW, Smash Brothers Brawl is total win, if you didn't know.

I have never hated the color red so much in my entire life. My Xbox360 just gave me the Red Ring of Death.

Not only has this happened before, it has already happened twice. Hopefully, three times will be the last. My Xbox had been working prefectly fine for the past 10 months, so this is quite unexpected. Atleast I'm still under warranty, or else I would have been enraged.

Now I won't have my Xbox for my birthday and probably not even for Spring Break.

And on a week when I'm hardly even working any...

I'm posting this blog because I didn't want to go all of February without posting one.

*I'll be 18 in approximately two weeks.

*Spring Break couldn't get here any sooner.

    *I love **** *******.

*I'm proud of how well the Assassin's Creed story was developed by Ubisoft.

*May 23 couldn't get here any sooner.

*My parents are going to buy me a new laptop.

*I'm going to buy an LCD HDTV soon.

    *Spring play is NEXT WEEK.

*I'm super pumped for the concert.

*I don't know what else to say.

Most hardcore band everr. If you like that kind of music check them out.

Um, I got accepted to Auburn University at Montgomery. I'll be in the School of Business, which is apparently a very prestigious school, studying Information Systems. I'm also hoping to live on campus. It'd be so much easier than living 30 minutes from school and driving everywhere. Plus, all my friends would have a place to come and chill.

    Yeah...

Went to Wendy's tonight. THE FROSTY MACHINE WAS FROZEN. (Or so she said...)

    Irony.
  16. Watashi Wa
So I haven't updated since December 19th. Waaay too long, mate.

Anywho, I haven't been as active lately on BZP. My laptop has been acting weird lately. Internet Explorer likes to randomly close out on my every few minutes, almost as if I am only allowed a certain number of page view before it closes. I've been wanting to download Firefox and see if that helps with the problems, but alas, I haven't had much time to sit and work on my laptop at all. I've also been shopping/looking for a new laptop, keeping watch on popular bargain sites such as BensBargains and NewEgg. Although, I'm aiming to make a purchase through BestBuy, considering I have gift cards that add up to $115 for that store that I would like to use towards the purchase of a laptop, that is, if I can find a satisfactory deal.

KIE officially freaked me out on New Years Day. Haha, kidding...

I also got a 27 on the ACT. Better than last time, but I still feel I can earn a few extra points if I actually study/review next time. I managed a 30 on the English and a 27 on the Paragraph Comprehension,. which is about what I'd expected. The science (I hate graphs!!) and the math (I need to review Plane Geometry, obviously) gave me a hard time.

School/work have been absorbing most of my time, but mostly Halo and Mass Effect. I've fallen in love with Mass Effect, and seeing as I don't have to work any day this school week, most of my time free time will be spent playing Mass Effect or Halo 3 with Than.

And I finished the Harry Potter series tonight. Awesome books, now I need something else to read. Any suggestions? I'm looking for Fantasy/Fiction mostly.

Well, thanks for reading (the two of you who read this blog). I hope life has been treating you well.
  17. Watashi Wa
I had so many opportunities tonight and I just let them slip out of my hands.

Why do I hesitate every time we're alone?

Is it because I have feelings for someone else?

Can I really fall for someone I've never really met before?

At least she liked her birthday present.
  18. Watashi Wa
As are many high school students around the country, I am preparing to take the ACT tomorrow. Unfortunately, I have not had the desired amount of time to prepare for this standardized test, so tonight I've just been skimming over this "pre" test I have. I took the same test last year and earned a 23, which is satisfactory, but I believe I can earn a higher grade now that I have finished Algebra 2 and am currently half-way through College Algebra (sort of...). I hope I can do a little better on the Science test this year because of what I've learned in Physics (which isn't -that- much...).

My sister hasn't had her baby yet. I thought for sure I'd be an Uncle by this weekend. She updated my family and it seems that if she doesn't have the baby by the 23, she'll have to be induced before her doctor leaves town. However, she was able to go back home yesterday, so she got out of that hospital.

I've also finished Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix and am moving on to The Half-Blood Prince. Bloody good books, I tell you...

Oh, and I'm driving down to Mobile tomorrow after the ACT for my other sister's graduation ceremony. On top of waking up early on a Saturday to take a test, I also have a 2 1/2 - 3 hour drive ahead of me. Luckily, I'm taking my older sister's car because my car wouldn't make the trip in one piece. Good news is that her car has a CD-player and I get to see some relatives who came down from New Jersey for the graduation.

On the other hand, I have a girlfriend now. Her birthday is next Friday and I definately forgot to request off of work. *plam to forehead*

I haven't played my Xbox for nearly two weeks. This isn't right...
  19. Watashi Wa
If you have an Xbox360 you owe it to yourself to buy Mass Effect. I usually don't like RPGs, but this has more of an action feel to it. It's the best $65 I've ever spent.

In other news, my car isn't wanting to work properly. After driving myself to school for nearly two years, it was different having to wait for my mom to pick me up after school. I hope we can get it fixed soon. I got half-way down my street and my car decided it didn't want to accelerate anymore. Luckily, I was able to roll back into my drive way.

Only about 4-6 more weeks before I'll be an uncle. I hope it's sooner than later because December is going to be one heck of a month for me. I'm scheduled to take the ACT, my other sister graduates from college, and I'll have a slew of Christmas parties to attend. I'd also love to see the Trans-Syberian Orchestra perform in Birmingham on New Years Eve (or so I think it was New Years Eve). Throw in some rough drafts for my research paper, work, and Mass Effect and it all adds to me=tired.

And after two and a half weeks of a hiatus in Collegen Algebra, we've started class again. I don't know if I'm excited that I finally get to learn something new, or if I'm dreading the fact that the teacher we have is known for the mass amounts of homework he gives. Only time will tell.
  20. Watashi Wa
    Today was not very fun.

We saw a dog get hit by a car, and as we drove by we noticed the dog was still alive and there was blood on the road. It quite literally made me nauseated along with everyone else in my car. I wanted to stop and help, but that would have been dangerous to my own safety.

I ended wasting a lot of gas tonight. Our church was canceled because our youth pastor had to go to a funeral, so we decided to go to some "haunted bridges". Of course, no one knew how to get there, so we went to pick up some people who did, but that ended up taking way to long. So here we were driving across town just to pick someone up. It took about an hour and a half to find that person, so the people in my car decided just to go home.

And lastly, Guitar Hero 3 is getting on my nerves badly. I finally managed to beat Raining Blood and One, but now I'm stuck on the battle with the Devil. Whoever came up with the idea of guitar battles should be punched numerous times.
  21. Watashi Wa
I recently saw a list of all the known songs on Guitar Hero 3 and needless to say it got me quite excited. Anywho, here's a list of songs I'm anxious to play:

She Builds Quick Machines ~ Velvet Revolver
    Knights of Cydonia ~ Muse
    Reptillia ~ The Strokes
Welcome to the Jungle ~ Guns 'n Roses
When You Were Young ~ The Killers
    Schools Out ~ Alice Cooper
    The Metal ~ Tenacious D
Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll ~ Blue Oyster Cult
3's and 7's ~ Queens of the Stone Age

October 28th can't come any sooner.
  22. Watashi Wa
As I'm sure plenty of you know, there are numerous wild, blazing brush fires out in California. Normally I wouldn't pay any attention partly because of how numb I've become to hearing all these "natural disaster" stories so often. However, it's finally hit home with me.

Now I was never really close to my Aunts (both unmarried)and Grandmother on my Mom's side of the family, but when someone in your family's life is at hand, you tend to care more. Even though I haven't seen any of them for approximately 5 years, the fact that they had to evacuate their house bothered me. Just yesterday they got a reverse 911 call saying they needed to evacuate, and sure enough they looked outside and the fire was litterally right outside their doors and windows. They only had time to grab a few clothes and very precious keepsakes, but they've more than likely lost everything else. House, furniture, paper work, other keepsakes, etc. They could hardly see around when they walked outside.

Its crazy how quickly circumstances can change. Luckily they were able to go stay at a friends house. I'm just worried about how they're going to start all over again.
  23. Watashi Wa
Just a little something I made in Photoshop this past week. My best friend and I were put in charge of making the graduation slideshow, so I started playing around with things in Photoshop and made this. I'm quite proud, and I hope my skills keep improving. I just wish I had Photoshop at home.
