  1. There, I posted. Happy now?Told you I would make him as obnoxious as possible.
  2. IC: SalamanderSalamander stepped into the bar, intending to get something to eat. Instead, he found a being who looked an awful lot like Utu. His appearance, along with his behavior, fit almost exactly with what Salamander remembered. After a moment, Salamander was forced to acknowledge that it was indeed Utu who sat before him.Normally, Salamander would have considered this to be nothing less than an incredible stroke of luck. This time, he thought it might have been more of a form of divine punishment.Ha, as if.Stepping forward, Salamander walked towards where Utu was sitting. It would have been easy to attack the Toa of Ice while he had his back turned and was occupied by his drink (one of many, if the numerous mugs surrounding him were anything to go by), but Salamander felt doing so would be wrong. Not that attacking an opponent from behind was wrong, or anything. Oh no, Salamander had no such qualms. No, what kept him from attacking was the thought of defeating Utu in that manner, and how boring it would be. If he was going to fight Utu and win, he was going to do it in as awesome a manner as possible."Hey Utu, how's life treating you? Looks like you made some new friends, which kinda surprises me; I didn't take you for the "friend" type. Although, now that I can get a closer look, a lot of these guys seem rather similar to you... Maybe that explains how they can tolerate your presence when the rest of the village is running in terror. Oh yes, terror. You'd like that, huh?"As he spoke, Salamander slipped back into his outgoing persona that he had used when interacting with Tuara. He had found that acting like a fool was often the easiest way to get his opponents to underestimate him, but he mostly did it because the annoying comments simply came easier that way. Needless to say, he was enjoying every syllable that was said.
  3. Actually, both are true.Edit: Awesome. Now I'll just have Salamander be as obnoxious as possible...
  4. Wait, so... Salamander lying like a rug to Tuara will be the reason Angel uses to justify attacking Salamander? Have to admit, I'm not familiar with that expression, so if I'm way off that is why. :PEdit: Yes, talking is good. Guys, always try to settle your differences by talking it out, and if that doesn't work then beat them into bloody pulps and light their corpses on fire while dancing around them and stabbing said flaming corpses periodically.I am good at relationships, in case you hadn't noticed.
  5. Yes yes, you are happy to see Salamander without Venator in tow. Now let the man get some food. Why in the world would it become a three-way fight? Salamander has never even met Angel, so why would Angel want to fight him?Oh, right. Salamander wants to fight with everyone he meets. Forgot about that. Ha, as if. Oh, wait. No, that's correct. If you said Salamander would get beaten to a pulp or something equally ridiculous, now that would have been incorrect.Salamander will run away if he has to. Pride is useless to the dead, and he knows that.
  6. IC: Salamander:Salamander entered the village of Ga-Koro, both thankful for the chance to rest and wary of the fact that nothing but an arrangement of plants was keeping him from plummeting into the water below. The proximity to one of his least favorite substances was one of the reasons Salamander disliked the village so much, but he didn't have a choice. After that fight with Venator, he needed to rest and restock on supplies. And of course, the market was closed for the evening, which meant he would have to find a bar or something similar if he wanted to get a bite to eat. Just the thought of sitting in a room full of the smell of alcohol made him slightly nauseous, but he had the feeling his hunger may have had a part in that. At the very least, he hoped he wouldn't get sick when actually in the bar. After walking around for a few minutes, Salamander found what he was looking for in a moderately-sized building near the edge of the village. From inside, Salamander could hear the chatter of customers and the clinks of mugs that signaled to thirsty travelers.I doubt they have place to stay for the night, but at least I can get a bite to eat...With the thought of eating something warm and tasty (the latter quality had been rather lacking in his diet as of late), Salamander stepped into the bar.OOC: Utu, where aaaaaaaare youuuuuu? I'm at this bar. Oh, Utu, huh?I'm sorry. That was a terrible joke.
  7. This is Nuju we're talking about; of course winning is possible. The problem is just that he will bend the very laws of the universe in order to prevent that outcome if he feels the need to.So yeah. Pretty much impossible, but not quite.
  8. What... Why... How... You know what? I'm not even going to think about it. Sure, I could ask why in the world something like that would ever be allowed in the game, but I'm not going to. Why? Because it's just not worth it. You have random plots and ideas, and Pyrrhon likes some of them enough to agree to let you have them. That's just the way it is, and I need to accept that. Need to, but I probably won't. I really don't like how you keep trying to drag non-BIONICLE things into Kirse, but whatever. Pyrrhon's call, not mine.
  9. That I refuse to believe, at least not if I take what you say literally. I believe you might be referring to a Skakdi with the power of an Olmak as a vision power, but still... Nice try.
  10. I'd like to see him say that. Nah, I'm sure he does. If he didn't like them, he'd have shot your plans down. Guess I just have to trust his judgement (which isn't all that difficult).
  11. See? That's what I'm talking about. You have made it so there is a "twist involved" with a major NPC, and we have no idea what it is. Just... send your plans to Pyrrhon. Please. Don't leave all of us in the dark.
  12. Yeah... Still trying to figure out what I was thinking at the time. Not sure if I ever will, either.
  13. OOC: Aha, finally figured how to work this situation in my favor. I'll miss Venator...IC: Salamander:Salamander refused to look back, even when Venator's agonized scream tore through the air. If Venator wanted to do something as foolish as killing himself, that was his own business. Salamander had already dragged him back from the hungry maws of death far too many times, and wouldn't provide the same service this time. No, Venator would die if that's what he wanted. He probably thought it would help atone for some sin he thought he had committed. That was his business, not Salamander's.Go figure. The one time it might have been kinder to kill the person myself, and I don't do it. Without noticing it, Salamander walking speed slowly increased until he was just shy of running. He payed no attention to where he was going, for all he could think of was getting as far away as possible. Despite this, something prevented him from simply using his mask. Somehow, the idea of flying away felt to Salamander. He had no idea why, and had he been in a more calm state he would have immediately noticed the flaw in his reasoning (or lack thereof). Before he realized it, Salamander had made his way back to the shoreline. In the distance he could see Ga-Koro, but it was nothing more than a few pinpricks of light in the evening gloom. As he stared out toward the village, he thought back to the last time he had been there, buying supplies with Venator. Looking back, that had probably been the closest they had ever to getting along. Sure, Salamander had forced Venator to carry all the supplies, but they had only given each other a handful of death threats during that time.Right, the supplies...Salamander swore under his breath. He had purposefully left all the supplies with Venator in the hope that the Toa of Ice would recover, but in his haste to put some distance between himself and Venator's corpse he had completely forgotten about them. It was far too late to go back for them at this point, so he had no choice but to go back into the village and by some more.Venator, if you weren't already dead I'd kill you...OOC: So... yeah. He's kinda bothered by Venator's death.
  14. Don't make me regret giving you permission to flesh out the character of Kirse. Oh wait. Bit late for that. Yeah, don't know what I was thinking at the time. A character as important to the backstory of the RPG shouldn't be under the control of just one person, even if the character is dead. Even if Vorex is the one player, I'm not going to single anyone out; I don't think any of us should be in that position. It just seems wrong to me that one person should have so much control over something as important as this and the rest of the group being completely left in the dark. So let me revise my earlier statement: Please don't make me seriously regret giving you permission.

    Sumiki

Is there a difference between the two when Sumiki is involved? I think not.
  16. So it was extended! I thought you had said that, but the first post said differently so I was in a rush to write up my entry...Oh well, it was still fun. Thanks for the contest!
  17. Name: DespairTheme: PreparationWord Count: 408Story: DepartureI looked at the suitcase resting on my bed, its interior packed with everything I would need in the coming months. I had spent the last few weeks repeating an endless cycle of planning, packing, checking, re-planning, and re-packing, but now I finally felt as if I was ready to leave.Well, almost ready; I still had to say goodbye to my friends and family.Saying my farewells had been the part I least looked forward to. In fact, you could say I had dreaded it for the past few weeks. I already knew what they would say, but that wouldn’t make things any easier. Saying goodbye is never easy.I left my room, intending to get a drink of water before returning to my sulk in my room. Unfortunately, the moment I stepped foot in the kitchen what seemed like a swarm of people descended upon me.I’d been captured by the enemy, and would soon be forced to endure all manner of horrible interrogation techniques. For the next few minutes, I warded off question after question in my desperate attempt to first relieve my thirst and return to my room. Eventually, my captors decided it was a lost cause and allowed me to make a retreat, an act I took no hesitation in participating in. When I had returned to my room, I sat down on my bed and stared at the television absentmindedly. As boring as it was, it was still better than saying goodbye, I decided.Eventually, though, I knew I would have to say farewell. All my packing had been an attempt to delay that moment for as long as possible, but it had finally arrived. No matter how I might have felt about it, the indisputable truth was that it was something I had to do. I had to leave properly, or not at all.It was time to say goodbye. Goodbye to the house I had grown up in. Goodbye to the friends I had made. Goodbye to the family I cherished. Goodbye to my childhood.Although I didn’t realize it at the time, it was also time to say hello. Hello to new friends. Hello to new opportunities. Hello to difficult times. Hello to adulthood.I was entering a new part of my life, but I was still reluctant to let go of the past.Goodbye.It was all I could manage to say, even in my own thoughts.Goodbye.
  18. Wait, when did I become the voice of reason? Not that it really matters, since I seem to be one of the few people in this group who values his sanity. Sanity has advantages, you know.
  19. And it isn't something people would be lining up to emulate, that's for sure. XD Vorex, how close are we?
  20. You know, I never did understand that part of the Kaulsi. What happens if you look at something like the sky where there are no points of reference? And on a clear night, what's to stop you from teleporting to a random star? You can see, it, right? Yeah... That wouldn't end well at all.
  21. Okay, I think that will do for "give Despair more credit than he really deserves" hour. Seriously guys, all I do is bring up a valid point and it's like I'm being given awards for it... Which is to say, don't stop. Totally loving it.
  22. Vorex, that's the kind of thing I'm talking about. As staff, it is our job to uphold the rules, not find ways to circumvent them.
  23. Guys, let's try to keep discussion on which staff members need to have special rules that apply to them here, okay? We don't need a repeat of last time when someone thought that the staff of Kirse was out of control.
  24. One more... Whew, some of these themes have been tough.Name: DespairTheme: MusicWord Count: 527Story: The FluteI sat inside my sparsely-decorated hut of leaves and twigs, my project of the last few weeks held gently within my hands. After all those failed attempts, all those late nights spent working on it and improving it, had finally culminated into something magnificent. In my hand rested a new kind of instrument, something I had decided to call the flute. Its design was comprehensible to only one such as myself who had spent countless weeks tinkering with said design. It was beautiful, but I cared not for its appearance. No, all that mattered was the sound. The sound, that mattered immensely. I wanted to try it out, but something stayed my hand. I wanted to be the only one present when it first sang. I wanted to be not only the creator of the first flute, but the first person to listen to its sweet melody. But where to play it? Since he wanted secrecy, the village was out of the question. The swamp was also a bad choice to how dangerous it was. So it had to be away from the Koro, perhaps even the Wahi.Kanae Bay might just work… After all, we Le-Matoran avoid water almost as much as Po-Matoran.With that, I exited the village. It was one of the few times I was glad to be relatively unknown, for none of the few people who knew me were out and about as I left. As much as I valued their companionship, I was preoccupied by my desire to try out my new instrument. But of course, that was only natural.I made my way to the shoreline, thankful once more for our aversion to water. A few seabirds flew overhead, but other than that there was no sign of life. It was there, on the deserted beach situated before a lush jungle, that I first played my flute. It was just as beautiful as I had hoped it to be. Its sweet melody rose gently into thee, caressing my ears with their loveliness. To me, it felt as if a whole new world had opened up before me, beckoning me to step forward and immerse myself in the music. I wasn’t sure if the sound would carry any great distance, but I imagined for a moment what the other Matoran would say when they heard it. Surely I would get the respect I deserved, now that I had wrought such an incredibly instrument. And then a Kewa bird dropped from the sky. I jumped back, startled by its sudden arrival. The Rahi looked at me with an expectant gaze, its eyes asking me something I could not decipher. I glanced down at my flute, the beginnings of an idea forming in my mind. Had it been summoned by my playing the flute? And if so, would I be able to replicate the task? Playing it once more, I waited to see if another would arrive. It didn’t take long. Within moments, an entire flock of Kewa had descended upon me, each somehow drawn by the melody I had played.Oh yes. A whole new world had indeed opened up before me.
  25. The forums have the Proto system backwards. What we consider to be good (AKA, getting proto) is considered by them to be getting a warning. The inverse is true when you lose Proto. In short, it's nothing to worry about and is simply a new (if perhaps misleading) name for an already in place concept.
