  1. That is from that mini-comic that was made in between the '06 and '07 comics.

So update, all three of the new powers are interesting and I'm sure they'll come handy when your in those brutal Mangani battles. I think the new Psisonic's one is the best of these update.

Edit: that image is from Comic: 6 Web Comic.

Oh right! Yeah! Now I remember!

  2.

OH MAH GAWD I'm freaking out with the new version. OH! another thing I say you should separate faxonn and kaukau(here's the in-game power I made up: gives you a third power wich is the primary power of the nearest character) also I think the faxon model should be a bit smaller

The Faxon lets you copy Rahi abilities, not 'powers', as it were.

However, your idea might be possible for the Mask of Emulation.

I used the only Faxon sprite I had available. If anyone wants to make changes, you are free to do so. It's not a priority for me, though, since I don't even have an in-game power planned for it. The mask copies Rahi abilities, of which there are very few in my game. I could make it set itself to use Flight when copying Nui-Rama, Strength for other Rahi, and so on, but making it work in practice is iffy right now. The Mask of Emulation - if we had a visual on it - would copy the ability to use whatever attack you are hit by with the mask active, but without a confirmed appearance I might just give that power to the Faxon instead. "Close enough", as they say.

I have no idea what comic this is, certainly not one I read (meaning I missed out on stuff I didn't even know exsisted >.< ) But here is the best canon picture from the Kanohi of Emulation:

    Matoran_Mask_of_Emulation.png

    Source: BioSector 01

In the name description it say "Matoran Mask of Emulation" so I'm not sure if the Great Kanohi will look the same as the Dead Kanohi...

  3.

Ah right, so you're already working on that! Ok, guess I'll ust have to be patient *sits in corner*

Just for a curious question, what scripting language does Game Maker use?

GameMaker uses GML, which is its own language. It's pretty similar to other languages, as it uses if/else/for/switch and similar statements. Though as flexible as it is, it still have some limitations compared to, say, C++. No proper data types, for example. I believe the developers are looking to change that. They have already made huge improvements in run-time efficiency since GM:Studio came out.

Right, so its a ot more limiting than python.

I was making a comparison to the Blender Game Engine.

  4. You can't export the game into a newer version of Game Maker?

I imported it to GM 8.1 the moment I got my hands on it, but already there I saw changes in the way the program works. People mentioned that my fonts suddenly looked awful, and certain things glitched when I tested my 8.0 project. Plus, some functions have changed and some extensions needed to be updated. It was too much work to port it over and too little to gain from a rewrite, so I kept going on 8.0 instead. Now, with GM:Studio and a lot of knowledge gained in the past few years, the benefits of rewriting the engine are far greater, while the ability to port an 8.0 project is getting even more pointless. Thus I will be doing an engine rewrite, which will hopefully turn out as well as I have said it will.

So yeah, until that happens the old engine is kind of unstable on Windows 8, and I am sorry about that. I am running Windows 8 myself on my current laptop, so I will at least be able to check out the same problems you are having -- I too crash when the Lightning Balls are used, for some reason. To be more precise, they seem to crash if a regular Lightning Bolt attack is used at the same time as the Balls. Dunno why. There is no special code in them compared to, say, the Olmak or the new Toa of Iron sawblade (which you will get this weekend, yay!), and they do not appear to have this problem.

  5.

Will the win8 crashing problem be fixed in the next beta? The game is currently unplayable to me because of it :(

It appears to crash primarily due to multiple fireballs or electric orbs being used at the same time. I will therefore add a "fix-it" button in the settings, where you can tune down these particular attacks. This is only a emergency solution, and a better one will be implemented later.

If you experience crashes related to any other features, please tell me and I will look into those as well.

Yes, firebolts and electricity cause this, but it isn't a few.

Any characters has to fire just once (an electricity bolt or fire bolt) and 2 seconds later the game crashes...

I'm really wondering why this happens... does it have something to do with Direct X support?

  6. Haha, I remember these.

It's a really good kit, and I'm glad that they're up here. It's unfortunate that my series died before I was able to use them, because I really did like the unique "hand-drawn" feel to them. Seriously, someone should totally make use of these.

Yeah, it is unfortunate. I was going to post the kit some time ago actually... but didn't for a number of very lame excuses

Oh wow, this looks impressive, just the whole look of it really makes this amazing.

If I made comic I'd probably try and use this.

Be my guest, they're here to be used ^_^

His comics also went dead after... I think 5 strips. But I still have this kit...
All the parts have been resized and re-cleaned. The Kanohi are incomplete, but that is due to the fact that those were the required Kanohi for the cast in the strips of Gravity.
There are quite some errors in all of them, but unless there is a demand for a spritekit like this I wont make and remake it.
Hope somebody finds some use for these (just be sure to color the parts BEFORE resizing them).

  8. I'm not much of an art buff, so take what I have to with a grain of salt.

First, I like how you including all the BIONICLE different pieces, from the Toa feet to the nuva armor.

Coloring looks well done and is what really attracts me to it.

The only thing that bothers me is the thinness of the wrists, they just don't seem to me as being sufficient to hold that huge

scythe, but that's probably just me.

All in all, you did a good job here Tattorack.

Yeah, I base all anatomy designs on exsisting parts in Bionicle, then I make them realistic, like in the movies (I had studies the concept arts from the movies in order to achieve that, all my Bionicle pictures before I did that were... quite terrible ^^; )

I made the wrists even thicker than that they appear in the movies, they're really thin in there: http://static1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090116190557/bionicle/images/e/e7/Toa_Vakama_as_in_movie_form.jpg

  9. Me and someone on DeviantArt are having an rp wich contains a whole bunch of exsisting and none exsisting characters, and this is one of the;

Toa Mariki of the Nubai team:

    toa_mariki_nubai_by_tattorack-d774l1p.pn

Kanohi: Mask on connections; can sense if a person she cares about or has bonded with is in danger. She can also locate bonded person anywhere using her mask.
There is no rangelimit to the mask, but it cannot feel/detect bonded individuals outside of the universe of the masks wearer (i.e. When on Spherus Magna she wouldn't be able to sense/detect a bonded individual inside the MN robot).
Weapon: Battle scy; A battle scy made of pure protosteal that can be enrgized with electric element to become so sharp in can slice a Makuta in half like a hot knife to butter.

  10. Isn't it about time I posted some of my creations by now? Bionicle ones I mean?
Well here you go, a bionicle I decided to get the most out of the smallest. And simply called "Grumpy".
If you look carefully, you can see that he has torso articulation ^^

Another one that is not intended to be a Bionicle, to be part of Spherus Magna and its associated dimensions or anything with the entire Bionicle universe in any way.
Was just awesome to try my hand at making somekind of anthro creation using bionicle bits...

An untitled water toa, made completely with a costum body (no mata, metru, hordika or inika templates used, just raw lego technic).
Unfourtunately since I have an extremely limited amount of parts to work with I had to give her white feet, but what the hey, Hahli Inika had white parts too ^^

An untitled air toa using the same costum body as the untitled water toa and this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbMDXr2MM_4 costum head for the nuva mask.

No, I don't originally own the skakdi star, but here anyone kid that has some bionicle bits are selling them at any carboot sale they can.
Nobody here in the southof france gives half a ###### about lego in general.
Anyway, here we have a take on an epic skakdi warlord... watch out guys, this one's a hulk!

Edit: Please note that BBC has a 640x640-pixel and 100-kB limit for posted images. In the future, please link to them instead.

  11. Haha yeah, well they mostly only have the bionicle parts that were used in HF villains, and a few other more important parts... hopefully in the future, they'll eventually add all the parts, so we can start using mata masks and such!

I guess I'll keep to modelling in Blenderb then, it would also give me the possability to use them part for other things...

  12. There have been a lot of pretty good solutions, mostly developed on a MOC-by-MOC basis. But this is actually pretty clever. It's a great, sturdy, non-piece-intensive solution. It's nice that it doesn't require any system pieces.

I know, I was just frustrated that I had this Miru Nuva and I couldn't use it for anything! So I spent a day on crunching the problem ^_^

That looks quite interesting, might try it sometime.

    Sweet!

I do have to say your animation on the hand piece was not as spiffy,

    But all in all, Congratulations.

A well, I'm not yet perfect when it comes to animation and the such. Thanks though ^_^

That's awesome, great design, and the fact that you can interchange between socket and ball was a great addition!

I'll probably use this at some point; though I will want to tinker with it, because I think that finding a solution that doesn't use thin liftarms would be better! I'll be sure to credit you though :)

Btw, why did you use blender? LDD has all those parts, and has its own animated instruction software built in (at least last time I checked).

This was the only designe I could come up with that would fit with most masks without having to modify the basis everytime. I was actually surprised how little wobble those liftarms gave though, you have a higher chance of the mask dropping of then those things wobbling too much :P

LDD has bionicle parts now!? I haven't checked up on LDD since...... well since 2007 :ninja:

  13. So, what if you have more masks (collected from all those little bags) than heads to put them on, but do have ample enough pieces to make a character?

Or, what if you have only heads from AFTER 2003, lots of star/agori/av matoran bodies but 2001-2003 heads aren't compatible?

Took me some figuring out, and since I haven't seen anything similar, here is the solution:

    http://youtu.be/EbMDXr2MM_4

    Enjoy!

  14. Well something you captured perfectly is the adorable Rakshi head-shape. (yes, cute. It's always reminded me of reptiles, and reptiles are cute.) Perspective and proportions look good, too. So do the hands.

I generally like the design which is somewhat set-like yet also shows some stylization. :)

As for colouring; I don't really know what the colours of a Vacuum Rakshi are supposed to be like, so I can't comment on that. I was just wondering what kind of texture you were going for; for a metallic surface, some highlights and/or reflections would have been great, particularly around the eyes and near the glowing thingie on its back.

It's just a pity that you used lined paper, because the lines are a bit distracting; yet I know that this started out as random scribbling, so it's okay. ^^

Overall it's a cool piece of artwork! =)

    Yeah, I was trying to get it too look a little like in the movie, but I had totally forgotten how they looked ^^;

I've updated myself on that though.

And you're right, it was a scribble I made when me and my brpther were making differant combonations of colors using the Rahkshi star (the lined paper was used originally to write up all the color combo's that could be made with the avaible colors we had XD )

A vacuum Rahkshi is orange and black. I see you've tried to do that, but it really looks like Rahkshi of heat vision to me.

Still, as far as the art goes, it's very cool. Conveys the general feeling Rahkshi create well.

    Yeah I knew that, but I kinda screwed that up ^^;

    Thanks all the same.

  15. I think you got a pretty good description of what it looks like. I don't know the colors of a Vacuum Rahkshi, but it seems fine with me.

Well, the only problem is that the orange is too yellow, now it kinda reminds (me at least) of the 2011 rahkshi...

    But thanks anyways ^^

  16. rahkshi_of_vacuum_by_tattorack-d65nnn0.png

Ok, so the colors are a bit off, I'm thinking of making Rahkshis with Blender... so I guess I'll have the colors right next time.

Anyway, this turned from a scribble on a piece of paper of about 10x9 cm to a poster sized didgital image! ^^

Enjoy! (Oh, and it knows where you live!)

  17. The BS01 images (Front View, Back View) are the only ones I know of for the Rahkshi. This site has concept designs for several of the other characters, props, and settings from all three movies. Duane Loose's site has concept designs from the movies in the "Sketchbook" and "Concept" sections, but they're mostly from LoMN and WoS rather than MoL, and most of them are location designs rather than character designs. I've seen one piece of concept art of a seahorse from MoL but I can't remember where I found it (might have been a social networking site, so I couldn't link that anyway). I think that's about all I can offer, sorry if it doesn't help with your project.

Well... guess I'll have to stick to BS01 then...

The other sites are pretty useful (though, no Rahkshi), thanks ^^
