The more I listen to Chinese Democracy, the more a third or so of the tracks seem like a big "Screw you, I was right, you weren't" to Slash. It seems that, considering Slash's book if I recall sold rather well, and he has plenty of big-names in the industry are guesting on his solo album, few agree with this sentiment. Probably doesn't help his case that Slash has said he's willing to reunite if the fans want it and Axl will do it, and Axl recently described Slash as a creative cancer. I swear I will do something violent if he gets inducted to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame instead of the rest of the band. Or a reunited original lineup.

I personally gotta say that they're the best pop-punk band I've ever heard. But no one knows who they are. Seriously, they're punk but they didn't lose the pop sound either. It's brilliant...lyrics are fantastic and the songs are really just infectious, with Commit This To Memory probably being the best album (the other two are great, though). How many people would agree that they're one of the most under-appreciated pop-punk bands that's been around for a decent amount of years? Or, a better question: how many people even know who they are?

All Dying On The Western Front
Crimson Jester posted a blog entry in Blog. BLOG! BLOOOOOOG!!!!!!!!!!!!
The rain begins to pour As the artillery starts to roar Soothing ringing in my ears Their screams I need not hear The water's red with blood Bodies sinking in the mud Tombs amidst the dirt An atonement to the earth Another falls beside me My eyes are glazed with death When from No Man's Land Comes burning dragon's breath My lungs begin to sear My flesh falls from my bones A vicious reformation In death I can go home Committed to the sea of stone The place where bloodied poppies grow There is no life, nothing to show All sacrificed All glorified Their crosses in a row Now take up my burning torch Breathe life upon my grave For every place my body's scorched To show just what I gave And in the place a man once stood Carved upon the trenching wood Scrawled out with a bayonet And this is what it read: For life, we fall From death, we rise For we, the heroes We don't die -
It's been a while since I've posted a song I wrote, hasn't it? Let's try getting back to it with a self accompanied acoustic song. The Desert (Acoustic intro comprising of 5th, 7th and 9th fret natural harmonics, occasionally throwing in some from the 4th, 3rd and 2nd) (B7m, E, one measure before verse, with a small fill between each measure.) Desert skies, grains of sand, Wandering the deserts for the promised lands, My throat is dry but my spirit is strong, Been drinking to drunk all day long. (Harmonic minor "mini-solo" type...thing, to fit the Eastern theme the lyrics give) Hours pass, in the desert sun, My eyes hurt and my feet are numb, But as I stare at the sandy horizon, I see a town that I can reside in. (Another solo, this one following a more pentatonic feel) I rest my head, in a bed at the inn, The sun is lowering, the sky getting dim, But as I close my eyes to sleep, I hear a call from the guard's keep. Bandits in, bandits out, The air is filled with screams and shouts, And the whole time I just sit in my room, To either be same or awaiting my doom. (Fade out into the chords from before) I'd give it a satisfactory ending, but I intend to give this character appearances in more than one song, a la Iron Maiden's Charlotte The Harlot set or The Red Hot Chili Peppers' Dani California trilogy, and as such I need a cliffhanger for this character.

I went to my friend's house today. He taught me a bunch of stuff on guitar (though by the end of the night I'd decided I wanted to learn bass), and then we went over to one of his friend's houses. Gah, names...my friend will be Andy, and Andy's friend'll be Matt. xP Well, Andy had been telling me a lot of stuff about Matt being an awesome singer; and, y'know, you get that rocker image stuck in your mind, right? Well, when we went to his place, Matt was about the furthest thing from what I expected him to be. Large kid sitting on the bed in his dark room with all the shades close playing Xbox Live? Not exactly what you expect of a singer. Well, we talked a lot, and I found out that I really liked the kid - easygoing, easy to get along with - but I didn't actually get a chance to hear him sing until after we went back to Andy's. His idol/inspiration is Michael Jackson, and I was kinda skeptical about that too. I mean, Michael Jackson? Pretty big legend to live up to there. Whatever the scandals, you can't deny that he was a great singer. But anyway...when I heard him sing, all my doubts just kinda went away. He's incredible. Really just...amazing. He sung some of my songs, even the ones that I never thought were that great. One of them was a song I actually wrote for that KJ contest but never submitted, dubbed "Welcome To The World" (or "my world", since I recently found out there's already a pretty popular song called Welcome To The World). But anyway. He was able to sing it in a way I would have never thought of that made it awesome. I'm pretty excited. I never thought this could go anywhere. But with me on bass and backup vocals/screaming, Matt on *maybe* another guitar and singing, Andy on guitar, Jackary on drums (if he can actually play), and my old crush on piano...it could go somewhere. If we can get the right connections.

"Le cose di ogni giorno raccontano segreti A chi le sa guardare ed ascoltare..." We were singing this childish Italian song today in class. But it's so... catchy. I dunno when I'll get out of my head. D: In case no one sees the purpose to this sing were were learning the various articles used in Italian.

Dance Away Your Troubles ^~^ Have you ever had a rough time with a friend, Boyfriend, Girlfriend or just with life? This song reminds me of several other times of my troubles, like one time I didn't fit in with any of my classmates except for4 in each class that liked me but anyway this song makes me wanna dance my troubles away ^^ Kristinia DeBarge: Goodbye Am I supposed to put my life on hold because you don't know how to act and you don't know where your life is going Am I supposed to be torn apart, broken hearted, in a corner crying? Pardon me if I don't show it I don't care if I never see you again I'll be alright Take this final piece of advice and get yourself together, but either way baby, I'm gone chorus: I'm so over it, I've been there and back Changed all my numbers and just in case you're wondering I got that new I'm a single girl swag Got me with my girls and we're singin' it...... Sing! na na na na hey, na na na na hey hey hey hey goodbye na na na na hey, na na na na hey, hey hey hey goodbye Cut my hair 'cuz it reminded me of you I know you like the long 'do, had to switch my attitude up Thinkin' of changing up how I ride, No more on the passenger side too bad you miss out on the way that I drive it I don't care if I never see you again I'll be alright Take this final piece of advice and get yourself together, but either way baby, I'm gone Chorus: I'm so over it, I've been there and back Changed all my numbers and just in case you're wondering I got that new I'm a single girl swag Got me with my girls and we're singin' it...sing! na na na na, na na na na hey hey hey goodbye na na na na hey, na na na na hey, hey hey hey goodbye hey hey, hey hey hey goodbye Chorus: I'm so over it, I've been there and back Changed all my numbers and just in case you're wondering I got that new I'm a single girl swag Got me with my girls and we're singin' it.... sing! na na na na hey, na na na na hey, hey hey hey goodbye na na na na, na na na na hey hey hey goodbye goodbye na na na na, na na na na hey hey hey goodbye na na na na, na na na na hey hey hey goodbye goodbye goodbye

So, U2 is broadcasting a live concert online at a place I think you know in about half an hour. Environmentally friendly Bono has a motorcade with four Hummers it would seem. I really ought to stop picking on him, but it's just so much fun. =3

I'll just update this from time to time... * Aconitum Genre - Death Metal Sounds like - Lamb of God, The Black Dahlia Murder, (possibly) Carnifex Comments - Based off of the plant genus; also known as monkshood, and one of the deadliest plants in the world. * Bloodmyst Genre - Death Metal Sounds like - Lamb of God Comments - Because it sounds cool. Location in WoW, btw. * Paladin Genre - Death Metal/Metal-Core/Power Metal Sounds like - Lamb of God, Demon Hunter Comments - Originally my concept of a Death Bio-band; it's based more off of Demon Hunter than something like Carnifex. * The Fourth-Wall Break Genre - Alternative Rock, Punk Rock, Indie Rock Sounds like - Weezer, Green Day, (possibly) Bloc Party Comments - My nerd band, if it existed. It's just such a great-sounding name; I mean, people have to actually ask you what that means, too. * We're Actually Midgets Genre - Punk Rock, Alternative Rock Sounds like - Green Day, (possibly) The Beatles Comments - I always wondered about the name behind the group They Might Be Giants, so hey, why not spoof it? It's great! *The Summoning Dark Genre - Death Metal, Power Metal Sounds like - Carnifex, The Black Dahlia Murder Comments - Another nerdy reference, this time to Discworld (specifically, Thud!). The Summoning Dark is a Dwarfish mine sign, quite possibly the worst you can get. It's pictured here, on the far right.

Feel the heat Rapid-fire Tearing flesh A hail of death Mounted chaos Spitting lead Breathing fire All are dead I am the war machine Product of our misdeeds Make you hurt, make you bleed But you're the one pulling the trigger here And you're the one killing here Don't blame me Feeding [EXPLETIVE] Steel barrel Bellowing casings Muddy gallow Bodies pile Smoking vent Cool it down Kill again You are a war machine A product of your own misdeeds Make them hurt, make them bleed Pull the trigger without discretion You're the one killing here As far as sanity goes, you're already dead No hope of reform, can't fix what's in your head So kill again, and again, and again You'll be gone tomorrow War machine Hollow eyes A single bullet The hero dies Make sure to leave some feedback, guys! -

Under music because it is on my MP3 player. I got the first episode of the mostly epic TV series on my MP3 player. Because Sansa's conversion software utterly sucks, it takes about two hours per episode, so I'll do an episode or two a day. Still happy. I know what I'll be doing on the bus tomorrow. -
I want no one to escape Gripping tight the sickle-blade Swing to seal your fate All is lost No warning to my approach On your life I will encroach As the blood pours from your throat Release your soul Don't judge me for what I do Messiah, I'm saving you Freedom from your tortured shell Abandon the rest, earthly ###### Come to meet the hangman's noose Draws you to the gallows, seduced Death will find you better use Come to me Do not be ashamed at your demise For in your death you will find I am the one who's truly kind I'll take you home Don't judge me for what I do Messiah, I'm saving you Freedom from your tortured shell Abandon the rest, earthly ###### All is lost Release your soul Come to me I'll take you home Come to me Release your soul All is lost You can't go home

Remember? The hypocritical pretentious guy who flew his hat that also happens to have an awesome voice and front a band I like? Well, it turns out that in addition to hats that refuse to fly business class, he also has one of the coolest jackets I've seen in a long while. A Laser Jacket with laser pointers along his silhouette. And yes I do feel the need to make it bold, italic'd and underlined every time I use the word laser. Because lasers are just that awesome. Where was I? Oh, right, Bono's awesome Laser Jacket. I do feel sorry for the eyes of those who go to U2 concerts now though, the first thought in my mind after "That's bloody *Censored* awesome" was "Isn't that eventually going to, in clear violation of what they say on the packaging, shoot somebody in the eye?".

Even if it is a completely different lineup(Albeit the current singer is RVZ's brother, so you expect some similar opinions), am I the only one who finds the second half of the title "God & Guns" ironic coming from the band who wrote Saturday Night Special?

There aren't any decent, good music stores other than J&R in my city and area that have at least some music that I like.... So I can't easily get the CDs I want. ;_; Also today there were these two guys in the square holding up signs saying "Free hugs."
