Only a few minutes into the trip, Reson was already growing tired. "You guys are getting heavy," he groaned, "everyone off," tempted though he was to just drop the led, he recalled Sajis' earlier warning about being more careful, and carefully put the sled down. "Right, if you can walk, get up. Otherwise we'll drag you by your ankles."

Vesun stood up and turned, poking his head out the door. “Kirgan, do you know any telepaths?”

OOC: You know, could you not bunny Sajis all the way to the Ussalry Headquarters? And wait on Eyru to reply? Courtesy, you know?

 

IC: Sajis

 

"They obviously can't walk."

[Nato G]

OOC: Sorry, I've gone and changed it now.

 

IC: Reson.

 

"Those two should be able to walk," Reson relied. "I only busted their eardrums, not their kneecaps."

(Onu-Koro, Hospital):

 

Kirgan raised an eyebrow at the odd question. "Um, no. Can't say I do."

"Food."

"Not a bad fate, all things considered." The Matoran commented to Ferron, looking thoughtful. "Not one that many Toa get the chance to reach, these days."

IC: Reson.

 

"Do you really expect me to drag them all the way back to HQ?" Reson countered. "The Vortixx weighs more than I do, plus the three Matoran... In summary, these guys are really heavy."

“All right,” Vesun acknowledged. “I’ll need to find one if I want to restore my memory. If you’re still willing to help, we should search the koro. I’ll go visit those police from before. They might keep records of such things, especially for a power as strong as telepathy.” Vesun crouched down to be level with Kirgan. “If you’re still willing to help, I need your knowledge of the village. Go through the public places of the koro. Ask the leaders, ask the warriors. Anyone who would know a telepath. Find me one.” He stood again to full height. “Are you with me?”

(Onu-Koro, hospital):

 

Kirgan seemed unsure when he answered "I doubt you'll find anyone telepathic in Onu-Koro... but Ko-Koronans, they do all kinds of things with the mind!"

“Ko-Koro… another village. Yes. I will go, but I don’t know how to get there. I should first talk to the Ussalry, conclude the business about the tunnel, if nothing else. Then, if I have found a method, I will go to Ko-Koro.” Vesun looked down at Kirgan. “Do you know how to get there?”

"We will find a force multiplier."

(Onu-Koro):

 

"Yes, but there is a problem", Kirgan replied. "Word is that Ko-Koro is under attack. Matoran from other villages are not advised to travel there, let alone a new Toa with amnesia."

IC: Reson.

 

"A force multiplier?" Reson asked. "Where are we going to find one of those just lying around who'd be willing to help us?"

"Very true," Ferron remarked, "I've seen quite a few over the years who just seemed lost, or worse yet, like they'd given up."

 

"I very nearly did myself" he added, seemingly making a point of opening and closing his prosthetic hand.

 

"It seems the gap between the title and the race has expanded since my time"

IC: Reson.

 

"Ah, okay. Fair enough. One of us should go find an Ussal, and the other should probably guard this lot so they don't try to make a run for it."

IC: Sajis

 

"You can go find one."

[Nato G]

IC: Reson.

 

"Right... sure," Reson hesitated. "Where am I meant to be looking? And which way do I go to get to where I don't know where I'm going yet?" 

 

OOC: I think the years of alcoholism have permanently damaged his brain...

"Headquarters."

IC: Reson.

 

Feeling like an idiot, (which he kind of was) Reson trudged off back towards Ussalry Headquarters to find himself a crab.

IC: Vesun (Onu-Koro hospital)

“Under attack?” Vesun asked incredulously. “By whom? And why aren’t all these Toa and warriors over there helping?” He turned towards the door. “I should go find the Ussalry. But I must get to Ko-Koro, both to assist the villagers and to find a telepath.”

(Onu-Koro):

 

"It's not that simple", Kirgan replied. "Onu-Koro cannot afford to send an army abroad, especially against the fearsome Legacy... going there will only result in death. You should not go there."

IC: Vesun (Onu-Koro)

Vesun stopped and turned around again.“I see. Then we’ll have to find a Ko-Koronan elsewhere. Back to the original plan, then?” Vesun turned to leave. “I will speak to the Ussalry. See if you can find telepaths or Ko-Koronans. Good luck.”

Vesun walked out of the hospital and began to search for the Ussalry members he’d met before. He almost immediately found the Toa of Sonics he’d helped before. “Hello, uh – Reson, was it?” he said, calling the Toa’s attention. “What happened to the drunkards? Anyway, if you’ve got a moment, I have some questions I’d like to ask.”

IC: Reson.

 

"Uh, the drunks are sitting around. I'm off to HQ to find a crab so we can drag them off to the cells," he explained. "If you can walk and talk on the way, I'd be happy to answer any questions you have, assuming I know the answers, that is..."

IC: Vesun (Onu-Koro)

“Come, let’s return to the captives. You won’t need a crab if you have me.” Vesun allowed Reson to lead the way, speaking as he walked. “My first question – is there anything more I should do about the tunnel? Or is the matter resolved?”

IC: Reson.

 

"If the tunnel really was abandoned, which Sajis seems pretty certain it was, there shouldn't really be any problem." Reson assured him, turning a full 360 and heading back towards where he'd left Sajis and the drunks. "We'll just let someone know when we get back to HQ and they'll seal off the area. Accidents happen."

“All right. Second question, do you know where I could find any telepaths? I need to find one for treating my memory. I’ve been told the Ko-Koronans are likely to have them, but that they’re under attack as well.”

[Nato G]

IC: Reson.

 

"Telepathy people..." Reson thought about that for a moment. "I'm afraid I don't know. And Ko-Koro is under attack? I hate it when people don't tell me things. But Sajis might know something about telepaths, and if she doesn't know, we might have records back at HQ." Reson turned a corner, finding himself back on the street where they'd fought the drunks. "Here's Sajis now if you wanted to ask her."

"Do you have the Ussal?"

[Nato G]

IC: Reson.

 

Was that a trick question? Reson had barely been gone a couple of minutes, and surely Sajis had noticed the distinct lack of crab? "No, our friendly Toa of Gravity here," he gesutred dramatically to Vesun, "offered to help us out again if we helped answer a few questions for him. So... any idea where we can find him a telepath?"

IC Kirgan & Khervos

(Onu-Koro):

 

As the seemingly over-energetic Toa of Gravity hustled out of the hospital, Kirgan stood still at the entrance, looking at him with a dumb-founded expression until he was out of sight.

 

Just minutes ago I was on my way to train for the Ussal race, he thought. Now... I'm supposed to be looking for Ko-Matoran telepaths for a complete stranger?

 

Kirgan sighed and began to walk away from the hospital, although he didn't have a destination in mind. He simply walked wherever his feet took him, all the while thinking about the amnesic Vesun.

 

Telepaths, Kirgan thought. There are no telepaths here. What if he decides to go to Ko-Koro after all? Should I follow him there, to certain death, or save myself by staying here? What does he even...

 

Deep in thought, Kirgan didn't see the Ba-Matoran in front of him and bumped into him with considerable force. Both Matoran fell.

 

"Ow, watch where you're going", Khervos said as he quickly got back up on his feet. Upon seeing the apologetic expression of the Onu-Matoran, he relaxed and ordered a hand to help Kirgan up.

 

"I'm sorry", Kirgan said as he took Khervos' hand and was lifted on his feet. "I was thinking about things, didn't spot you."

 

"Doesn't matter", Khervos said, obviously ready to shrug off the whole incident and leave it at that.

 

Before Khervos could leave, however, Kirgan asked "Uh, I'm trying to look for someone with telepathic abilities... would you have any potential tips?"

 

Khervos paused and stared into Kirgan's dark green eyes in confusion. "Telepaths? What in Mata Nui...?"

 

"I know it sounds strange", Kirgan said. "But someone I know needs a cure for amnesia and apparently a telepath could do it."

 

"Amnesia can heal on its own."

 

"Well, ordinary amnesia perhaps..."

 

Khervos knew he had more important things to do than chat with ordinary Onu-Matoran about telepaths, but he found himself intrigued by Kirgan's cause.

IC: Sajis

 

"A telepath," said Sajis flatly.

 

There were none that she knew of on the island. In fact, there was very high likelihood that there were none at all.

[Nato G]

IC:Reson.

 

"Yes, a telepath." Reson repeated. "Someone who does telepathy things. Any idea where we can find one of those to help out our friend here?"

IC: Sajis

 

"Absolutely no idea."

[Nato G]

IC: Reson.

 

"Well, that is extremely unhelpful..." Reson muttered, "do you know anyone else who might know?"

"Try a rumourmonger."

[Nato G]

IC: Reson.

 

"I've been drunk for the past few..." Reson thought that over, "...I actually have no idea how long. I don't know where to find a rumourmonger."
