Skyrim is reunited and Alduin is slain! Now to let my reign of terror begin!

I just built myself a palace out of Thalmor bodies. :P

I believe you find life such a problem because you think there are the good people and the bad people. You are wrong, of course. There are, always and only, the bad people, but some of them are on opposite sides.

The Thalmor are nice, in the way that it's basically impossible to feel any remorse for killing them. Sometimes overhearing bandits talk make me thing that it's a shame I have to waste them, but the Thalmor deserve every attack I can dish out.

Posted

Agree. Thalmor are, along with bears, the only enemies I kill mercilessly. "So you can cast a few spells, am I supposed to be impressed?" Their Bound Swords never help them.I can't get why two of them live ( and respawn ) in Markarth's Understone Keep. I mean, that city has passed under Stormcloak control with my character!

Is that so?They will have to die, then. *grabs Merune's Razor and Shrouded armour*
Yes, it is. They should be on the left of the Jarl's Throne Room. The room they can be found is the one where the Stormcloak officer stays. I suggest you to use a bow while he sleeps. It could be considered a crime, if he sees you attacking them.

It's obvious. Those two Thalmor are being kept there for interrogation purposes. They're allowed to keep their armor, because the interrogation process involves baking them inside it.They're allowed to keep their weapons because nobody fears them. They're allowed to live for every day to be as horrible as Coldharbour.@ Wotz; My assassin character, at Level 53 (higher than my main, for reference) is still using Ancient Shrouded Armor, Blade of Woe, and Mehrunes Razor. Every since Level 25 or so. It's just that look.-Toa Levacius Zehvor :flagusa:

I don't think interrogation would bring anywhere but "The worship of Talos is strictly forbidden". :P

Speaking of abusing Thalmor, after visiting the Soul Cairn and seeing how incredibly bleak, depressing and miserable it is, and knowing that victims of black soul gems are eternally trapped there, it's immensely satisfying to know that that's the fate of lots of Thalmor and others like Ancano and Mercer Frey. I sound like a horrible person saying that lol, but it's true.

If Soul Trapped beings' soul goes to the Soul Cairn, then what happens when you use the gem you trapped them in? When you enchant a weapon, is the soul torn apart in order to use its energies, is the actual soul trapped in the weapon and slowly consumed as it is used, or do you simply use it as temporary fuel and then the spell keeps them from leaving the Cairn ever again?

Posted

Both theories seem valid. But the point here is: thousands upon thousands of Thalmor. Being tortured. Forever.Brings a warm feeling to the heart don't it?

I believe you find life such a problem because you think there are the good people and the bad people. You are wrong, of course. There are, always and only, the bad people, but some of them are on opposite sides.

I got the quest in Dawnguard where vampires kidnap your spouce. The vampire in charge of that little operation... well, heh. Molag Bal isn't the one getting his soul.@ Takatu; Mercer Frey didn't even get to keep his body on the mortal realm. I killed him off with the Staff of Magnus, which reduced him to nothing more than dust upon his eventual, final, potion-free death.-Toa Levacius Zehvor :flagusa:

The way Serana explained it, the soul remains in the soul gem until you use it to either enchant or recharge a weapon or armor piece or whatever. Then the soul gets sent to the Soul Cairn. That guy in Azura's Star was stuck in there until you manually evicted him. Either way, it's an "and I must scream" situation. And yes, the idea of Thalmor stuck there fills me with warm tinglies. :DI haven't done the Thieve's Guild questline with my current Vampire Lord character yet, but I think I'm either gonna kill Frey with a power bite as a Vampire Lord, or use the Soul Tear shout to send him to the Soul Cairn and use his corpse as my servant. That new shout is so cool.

I now use Dark Brotherhood Initiate as a follower. She's not the smartest, but at least she's more silent than J'zargo. :PI stupidly inducted J'zargo into the Blades, which gave him heavy (and noisy) armour.

Agreed. In the example above involving a certain very, very foolish vampire, that was my weapon of choice.Soul trap without having to enchant a weapon or switch to a spell? With massive damage? Must have.-Toa Levacius Zehvor :flagusa:

Ah, found a much better way to get multiple player characters on the PC version.Just create separate save folders and switch out the contents when I want to play a certain character.

J'zargo seems like a cool character.I'm trying to meet him at the College of Winterhold, but I suck so hard at magic that I can't even get in.;_;

I thought you just had to cast a spell to get in? (my main character didn't even do that, I got there during the main quest) :P

Yeah, though it requires specific spells. They're all low-level, but I apparently have none of them.I guess I'll just hold off visiting the college until the main quest then. I'll get back to that eventually. :B
Yeah, as long as you killed that first dragon, they should let you in if you just shout.

Wait, you can seriously do that? O.oSo about my vampire spell struggle... Yeah, think I'm gonna just ask/wait for someone else to do it or deal with the current destruction spells. I know how to make it more powerful, but getting it to level a skill -- I had no idea how in over my head I was. All that scripting and whatnot... Felt like some circuits blew in my brain trying to decipher it all lol.

I could try. Just give me some time and I'll look into spells in the Creation Kit.EDIT: I don't have Dawnguard, but I doubt the mechanics differ much. What is the effect of the spell you want to change? It'd help me to know what kind of effect that is most similar in the CK.

Oh no, it's not unique to Dawnguard, I was trying to alter the vanilla Vampiric Drain spell you automatically get as a vampire, Dawnguard or base game. Don't need Dawnguard for it, it's in the vanilla game. All I was really trying to do is make it more powerful (which I definitely know how to do) and get it to actually level the player's destruction skill (which I definitely don't know how to do lol). I dunno if it's even possible to get it to level, since it's kinda unique in that the only way you can get it is by becoming a vampire, not sure what kind of effects that has on skill building, if any. I figure if I can't alter the already existing spell, I can duplicate pretty much the whole thing into a new spell, which I tried once, but still getting it to level was kind of a pain lol.

Going for the Spellsword approach, I guess, since you have no shield or second weapon visible? Or does vanilla SKyrim not show the second weapon? I can't even remember how vanilla Skyrim really is anymore. XD

Posted (edited)

Elitist? Excuse me, but what? I'm just asking if it's a spellsword character because I see no secondary weapon. I have a moderator that shows most of your weapons in multiples; I can't remember if the vanilla game does that or not. If I was elitist I'd actually be condescending and act all high and mighty because my computer obviously is better. Fact of the matter is that I don't give a darn, I just enjoy how mods supplement, patch and balance the game more than it'll ever be in vanilla and thus have tons of them.

@ ~JC~; I think I fall into the stereotype, because I've always favored the engine that lets me flip between a game, an internet article, a music video, and typing up a document, and then mixing it all up however I choose, whilst positioned on my desk, perfect for reading or working with more mundane means.Though I do only play Co-Op games on the PS3, so consoles have their uses.@ Katuko; It doesn't show your off-hand weapon without mods. My one dual-wielding character proved that to me ("lol wer my wepon go?")@ Valenti; All hail to Ulfric.-Toa Levacius Zehvor :flagusa:

Going full warrior this time. :) I was wielding two imperial swords, but I replaced them with a greatsword. :PAnd in vanilla Skyrim only a single one-handed weapon is visible, yeah. xD....There's a modification for that? Sweet, gonna look it up!

Armed To The Teeth, if you're wondering. It may conflict with mods that add new weapons, so if you got any you might need some custom patching for those.

Working on my Khajiit Werewolf right now. It's odd, using a battlemage build, but whatever, it works. Likewise, I wish there was a way to boost werewolf skills without having to eat people. Ie, I should be able to have the "Eat animals" perk right off....

So you killed a Stormcloak soldier for their clothes, then wish to join the Stormcloaks.Logical.I've yet to take a side in the war, but when I do I'll probably go with then Imperials. The Stormcloaks don't like kitties. :C

Ha, you get a free set of Stormcloak armor if you go with Ralof from a Stormcloak soldier that's already dead when you find him, don't have to kill any for it. :PWhile a feline-type character turning into a werewolf is definitely weird (and very ironic), for whatever reason the idea of a lizard person turning into one seems weirder to me. Also, while I like the idea of a more or less indestructible conjurable undead horse, it'd be nice if a follower could ride with me. I feel kinda guilty about galloping ahead while Serana is forced to sprint to keep up. And I mean like have her ride the same horse, rather than have her own, it'd be one less animal I'd need to babysit and keep from getting slaughtered by dragons.Speaking of Arvak, I wish they had made summoning him a power instead of a spell so I don't have to arm myself just to call him, then put my sword away right after so I can ride him. :/

Honestly half the reason I'm playing Skyrim is so I can be a cat person who transforms into a wolf person. Because that's what I do.I should really get Dawnguard though, so lycanthropy is less useless.I'm tempted to create an alternate profile as an Argonian, but I'm having fun being a manthro cat for now.
